I usually get my brows threaded, but was looking for a new place since I moved. I got my brows waxed by Maggie and she is the sweetest. She was so kind, especially when I told her that eyebrows confuse me a lot, and she even took the time to teach me how to do my brows. She is so knowledgeable and taught me a lot about my eyebrows, and recommended some benefit make-up products that I ended up getting because the way she did my brows is amazing. She's also such a friendly person, always helpful and very good at conversing and making you feel welcomed. And it wasn't painful at all, even though I did my lip too. It's pricy, but definitely worth it for the service you get! I didn't have change on me for tip, but she was so kind and understanding about it. Thankfully, ULTA allowed me the option to tip with card while I was paying, so I didn't have to go find change elsewhere because Maggie definitely deserves tip for her hard work. Long story short I went to get my eyebrows waxed here yesterday and they burned my skin pretty badly. I called today asking for a refund or just any help in general and the manager 1. pretty much blamed me for what happened and accused me of using products that could've caused sensitivity, 2. didn't apologize, and 3. wouldn't give me a refund but told me she would give me a product to help my skin heal. I went in today and the manager wasn't even there but the clerk gave me a used & almost empty bottle of aloe gel. She also didn't apologize or seem concerned at all. Thanks Ulta. UPDATE: A different manager called me a few days later and was very apologetic and embarrassed for what happened and how it was handled. She gave me a full refund and some free products and handled it much better than the first time. read more

One star for Nay, who was sweet. We had to stand and wait for almost 5 minutes before we were acknowledged (and we had an appointment!) then, the workspace she sat me at was DIRTY, (while there was a sanitized space already prepped directly across from me-complete with a sign stating it) the wax she used wasn't warm enough and she had to really work to spread it and push hard-it hurt. I had to ask her two times to take more off one brow, as it was not the same shape/thickness as the other...and unlike the Benefit Bar at Macy's she didn't do anything to cover the redness, just said "take this to the cashier, thanks". I was disappointed, and won't be back. I'm sorry I tipped, but when I said no to the cashier asking me about tipping, both cashiers gasped out loud and made a bit of a fuss. My experience at the Benefit Bar at Macy's is super pampering and welcoming, very clean and tidy-a great deal of care with their merchandising!...Ulta was cluttered and the Benefit Bar at Ulta was gross, messy and unorganized. I do NOT RECOMMEND!! Yuck. And my left brow is still thicker, with no discernible shaping. read more

Maggie is my brow master from when they were on State St. and now that she is at Ulta in Goleta I go to her. She is great; do not miss seeing her. She comes up with a plan and if you're patient you can get some great brows if you put in the time. She's super fun and she's a pro. I highly recommend the Benefit Team. They all do a good job but I've gone to her for over a year! My only complaint about Ulta is that the music is too loud for me. I can barely think because it's a little much. I wish they would turn it down so that it would be more relaxing. Otherwise I think the store has a lot of great products for browsing. (pun intended!) read more

I think ulta needs a new hiring policy. I brought my 14 year old daughter in to have her brows done for her birthday. This lady name maggie took her in. My daughter sat in her station and she dropped a tool on her and damaged her dressed. No apologizes and then she had the nerve to tell her it was her felt for moving. Lily was uncomfortable the way Maggie had her sitting. She had to move because she was slipping. Then she was done, my daughter left and I heard this incompetent ulta worker tell her co worker that she didnt tip. And that my daughter was a f***** brat. I dont know what kind of business your running but maybe you should drug test. Or hire people with class and respect. My daughter wanted to buy some hair and nail produced in your store and I refused. I will never spend my money in your store again. I will inform my family and friends about your careless services. I went to Celeste today for a brow wax . She was extremely helpful and truthful! She explained that my brows neede growing and that she would trim it. She advised me to let it grow more and come back. She patiently explained what I could do to fill it in and helped me buy a few products... she was patient and very knowledgeable! I had never had my eyebrows done professionally before until I started going to Natalia at the recommendation of my house-mate. Although they accept walk-ins as time permits, I always make an appointment before heading in. Only 4 out of 5 stars due to the fact that the appointments sometimes run over and I've had to wander the store waiting for up to 30 minutes past my appointment time. Usually it's no more than 5-10 minutes though. Natalia is friendly, polite, professional and takes time to listen to what you want. My brows are on-point every time I see her now! read more
