Moved from LA over the summer and went to a great benefit location there for my brow tint. I have a few white hairs from vitiligo on the front of my right brow so usually get those tinted as well as the rest of my brows very subtly just to match that area. I have been to this location a few times and sometimes while it as been slightly too dark it has never ended in disaster until now. I told her I just want medium put on my brows no dark mixed in bc it will make it look too dark/ pigmented which is not what I want, I already have dark brows and she might have to redo the white hairs a few times after bc it usually takes a few tries to fully take. I trusted she understood what I was saying but she left the dye on for 6 full minutes, which now I am realizing is way too long for what I described. My eyebrows in turn look like were drawn on with a crayaola crayon/ angry bird. I know this will start to remedy itself in a few weeks but I am really upset with the results. I had a different technician here do my brows the last time and they came out great and lasted 6 weeks. She definitely kept checking to make sure they weren't over taking and was very diligent. You can't just leave on dye for 6 min went a customer wants something extremely subtle. When she was finished she said " your eyes really pop now" which was the first sign something went wrong. If you are not super picky w your brows this place is fine, but some of the techs might not be equipped have the skills to cater to specific needs. Will be traveling to another location (farther from my house) moving forward bc can not risk this nightmare happening twice. read more

got a service done last night, this is a "sides" wax- looks like 2 pieces of tape on both sides of my face. When I called this morning to make an apt to fix this mess, the girl first said they only do the sideburns with a side wax. Then I explained I have been using Benefit for years, most recently at the now closed 74th St location and it never looked like this. Then she said if I wanted it to blend I would have to thread. Really? I have never had this problem before while getting a side wax. Why can't they just say the girl did a bad job? I won't be going back to them to get this fixed. Luckily we still have to wear masks. I went to Benefit in Ulta on 86th Street to remedy this and the girl told me to try to cover it with concealer. She tried to match a concealer and foundation, but the spot did not go away because she said the girl at 63rd street actually ripped off a layer of my skin, which she was not supposed to do. The girl explained that either the wax was too hot, or she used a wax that was too thick for the area, and they have several different types of wax they use. Have to seriously re-think using Benefit in the furture. 3/19/22 still very obvious on the sides very embarrassing. looking into other spas to do my future waxing. read more

I was strolling pass this location and thought why not get my eye brows done. I had been growing them out for over a month and they needed to get done badly. The price was way more then I would usually pay but I thought hey why not. I was able to get a walk in appointment which was great but I honestly am not happy with the results of my eyebrows. Like I literally feel as though I walked in with the same eyebrows I walked in with. At the time I thought they were bad but not as bad as they are. I could have done this myself. I had a really great experience here. My eyebrows are my favorite feature on my face and I'm incredibly timid about trying a new place to work with them. The last few years, I've let them grow out and they've been pretty natural and full. I came here because I wanted to get more of a shape and saw Sky for a threading. Wow. She really worked with me, showing me every step of the way, asking for my feedback. She spent around 20 minutes on me and every minute was worth it. Elisa is the best! She is incredibly careful and precise with my lash tinting. She is always so pleasant, as is the entire experience of having my lashes tinted at this location. I have been to other lash tinting/brow specialty salons....the difference between them and what Benefit BGG Lexington does and has experience-wise is unmatchable. I am also a huge fan of their products. I used to use quite expensive skin cream/moisturizer. I am now using Benefit's skin cream and eye cream, eye primer, and new magnetic mascara. My skin looks far better, and the cost is about a third of what I was paying. This location has a great selection of products and there is no "hard sell"--a true differentiator yet again with other lash/brow specialty salons. read more

I'm convinced Terrell did actual magic on my eyebrows. They could not have looked worse when I first walked in - bushy, long, and the strays were everywhere. He assured me he'd have them all fixed up and full looking. I loved that before he waxed he walked me through how he was going to make them look better. While he was waxing I noticed how much less painful it was than my usual experiences. Terrell explained that they use a cream wax. Once he was done he put a little bit of tinted gel and I was ready to go. Also, my skin wasn't as red as I normally get at other salons and any redness I did have faded very quickly. I am beyond happy with my experience. The place was very clean and my brows have never looked better. Worth every penny ($23). read more

At first, considering paying more than $6 to have my eyebrows done was out of the question because I believed my thin one curved and the other arched brows were it. I had been here before for brow trimming. I tried this location to dye my eyebrows. The result was frightening: a black broad line appeared from one side of my head to the other across the brows and middle skin area. There was no supervisor on site. Staff was horrified and did not know what to do. They applied oils (they were not even sure what the oil was), and dye remover until my skin was raw. I demanded a supervisor assist and was finally able to push hard enough 3 times, that she bothered to come to the phone. I left with black dye on my blond brows and below my blond hair. Do not use this place for dyeing. They are amateurs, cannot deal with a mistake and are not trained for this service. Furthermore, the supervisor is absent in case of a problem. I was asked to leave my name and contact details. She never bothered to contact me after this debacle. read more

Coworker raved about leslieann but there was a mistake in her scheduling and she had to cancel since she wasn't actually available for the time I booked. She told me to set up an appointment with Lauren and promised me she was just as good. I've had two awful brow experiences this past year (see previous reviews if you want to cry and/or laugh). I have naturally thick eyebrows that grow back full strength but has been getting butchered recently and have been on the thinner side :( Four stars because my brows still look bomb.com 17 days later. I opted for threading even though my appointment was for a wax because lauren told me she preferred it and who am I to say no. She definitely took her time - whole appointment took about 25 mins. Loved that she listened to me about trying to grow my eyebrows out! Overall, my brow trust issues is getting a little bit better. $36 (including tip) is a little hefty but gotta treat yoself once in awhile! Will prob go for waxing to save a few bucks next time. Took one star off because like the newbie that I am, didn't know that filling them in after was part of the service. She asked if I wanted them filled in and I felt too awkward to say yes? I just got the best brow and lash tint of my life from Nelida. I'm a very very fair redhead and thus, alas, bear the ginger curse of blonde (or, more accurately, clear) lashes and brows. Sans makeup I'm basically one of the children of the corn. Thus, brow and lash tints are my very favorite thing, it lets me not horrify small children first thing in the morning. They can be a bit of a crapshoot though, go too dark or too cool-tones and it looks absolutely bonkers... Nelida listened to me while I explained what I was hoping for and delivered it perfectly--warm, slightly coppery mid-brown brows and dark, warm-toned lashes. And she followed it up with a pretty pain-free wax for a great shape. (And some great chit chat) I've never been happier with a tint. TLDR; get Nelida to tint your lashes and brows, ESPECIALLY my fellow gingers. read more

Let me start off by saying that I am very very picky and specific with how I want my brows. I do not let anyone else touch them. Rachel has been the only person touch my brows for the past 3 years?! Something like that. I've been following her since the Greenwich Village location she started at. What I loved was she genuinely cared HOW i wanted my brows. She handed me a mirror ,pointed in different areas of my brows and asked me lots of questions. She would always explain why she wouldn't remove in certain areas. She is an expert. She knows how your brows grow & whats best to achieve your eye brow goals! I've even done lash & eyebrow tinting before & was very satisfied. If you already know as an employee that you have two scheduled appointments before me, it's courtesy to just let the client know rather than have them wait around to then say you have two other people to see first. I finally booked an appointment for my eyebrows to get done "professionally". I walked in don't even get greeted I say hi I have an appointment. The girl said with who and I had honestly forgotten who I made it with. She made me sign a waiver and said you can sit her. I tell her exactly what I want and she come with a stop and starts say what she was going to do. I told her thick long story short I walked out of there with 2 different eyebrows and I looked like angry bird. As im looking closer in the mirror the more I want to cry. She mest up my birthday weekend and only offered not to charge me for that service but for the tinting yes. She didn't even offer to make it right. I am very disappointed I had Elisa all the esthetician were talking to there clients some had new people they introduced them self and was nice and pleasant. Abysmal. Unless you like skinny, uneven brows. You do you boo boo. Let me explain. The shop for starters is a complete sh*t show. Your eyebrow "expert" is also a sales associate so she will stop between waxing/trimming to take care of customers. The checkout experience was confusing and awkward. There doesn't seem to be an option to tip via credit card, something I read was possible. And lastly if the place is going to be so crowded with the next guest breathing down your neck, they should enforce a strict reservation only to keep things pleasant. Now for the actual eyebrow experience. I heard about something called eyebrow mapping? My stylist mentioned the word, but she certainly didn't implement it. Isn't there some measuring involved? Okay maybe she did it all in her head. I got tweezing and trimming done. In the end they were much thinner than I wanted and started to far away from the bridge of my nose and ended too soon. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe she needed to tear off most of my brows fullness to reveal the best shape possible? Ok. But then there was the trimming. She did a blunt chop to the underside of my brow and now it is certainly uneven and pokes out... The worst part of all was how she filled them in. A red brown color (nothing like how I came in) and all one depth- meaning no lightness at the beginning and darker at the arch. Just one uniformly colored brow that looked drawn on with a marker. I stared for a while in the mirror. In horror. I actually wanted to cry. But instead I ran to Sephora to fix my angry looking red brows. Ick These people are definitely not artists. But if you don't care much for your brows then I guess they're a great option for under $30. Maybe you'll get lucky with a great eyebrow artist but if you're a walk in like I was and just get planted with someone, chances are you will be walking out with clown brows. read more

The Brows-A-Go-Go location definitely lives up to the Benefit brand. Marcus was my technician, and he was great. Really attentive and did a great job. I was very happy with the result, and it was done in record time. They're very efficient here! The location is quite small, but it's beautifully decorated. I love the pink everywhere - it really does make you want to play with the make up like it's your mother vanity. So much fun! Benefit has just introduced online appointments, so I gave it a shot. It was super easy and plenty of appointments to choose from. Makes the whole process so much easier. read more
