I booked a brow and lip wax at benefit after a subpar experience at a different waxing establishment in Santa Monica. The benefit brow bar was clean and I didn't have to wait at all for my service. My esthetician Diana was very knowledgeable and took the time to listen to what kind of look I wanted after I described my previous wax experience. I love that the brow wax starts with a brow mapping and they also give you eye patches and a mask for your nose during the service. The service was quick and painless. Diana made sure to show me what my brows looked like at multiple points through the service to ensure I was happy and walked me through what she was doing. She was able to achieve the lifted but still full look I had wanted for so long but no other brow artist had been able to achieve. I was super disappointed with my brow experience at Benefit. I came in for a brow and lip wax and asked for thicker, more natural brow just a simple clean-up. From the moment I arrived, the esthetician felt a bit off. She was polite, but clearly disengaged. She started with my upper lip without sanitizing the area, didn't explain what she was doing, and didn't count down before removing the wax. When she moved on to my brows, there was no brow mapping or walkthrough, which I especially expected since it was my first time with her. She just started waxing quickly and unevenly. The entire service was over in about 5 minutes, even though the appointment was scheduled for 20. When she showed me the results, I noticed missed hairs and asked her to clean them up she seemed annoyed and didn't give me much time to actually look. Once I got home, it was clear how bad they were: uneven brows, bald patches, and stray hairs left behind. For a $40 service, this was really disappointing. I wouldn't recommend. read more

Breanna was was very helpful. she instantly matched my brow color and added a little tint to my look because aging gracefully sometimes turns the hairs. little grey. I just moved to LA from Miami and let me tell you how hard it is to find a good eyebrow spot! Benefit on Montana does it all! They wax, thread, tweeze, laminate, tint and more! I had an eyebrow consultation with Bryson and since I use retinol, he recommended we thread. He brown mapped my face and showed me before he plucked anything off and I really appreciated that. Update: Since posting my review store management commented. I called them within the next 2 hours, left a voicemail, and no one has reached out since. Awful store employees and management that doesn't care. I've come here twice to get my brows dyed and both times the employees have been incredibly unfriendly. Both times I tried creating conversation and it basically just feels like they're judging you and even don't respond to some of the things you say. The first time I got my brows dyed they looked great. This second time, a guy who works there dyed them and they looked fine when I left the salon but an hour later once the color developed more they were awful. The dye got all over the skin around my brows and he missed some spots with the dye. Never coming back here again. read more

I recently had my brows waxed and tinted for the very first time by Ari. She also gave me a mini facial which was heaven. My experience was truly divine. Ari was so knowledgeable, professional and detail oriented! She has impeccable taste and is truly talented. She made me feel at ease and my eyebrows are the most gorgeous they have ever been. TLDR: unfortunately Benefit doesn't care to train their aestheticians in client experience anymore, completely skip consultations before a service, and let you leave the store after a brow wax completely red without offering makeup services. My aesthetician only cared about selling me products. Full Review: For years I have always had the best experience with Benefit Brow aestheticians, until today. I have always counted on going to any Benefit Brow bar (stand alone or counter) and having a great experience from start to finish and leaving loving my brows. While my brows look fine, unfortunately the service I received from the aesthetician was horrible. After waiting for about 5 minutes I was told by my aesthetician to sit down at her station. She never even greeted me or told me her name (the person who checked me in told me her name). She asked me if I was wearing makeup, I said yes. At this point she immediately began removing my makeup. She never did a consultation or even asked me how I liked my brows. While she did compliment the shape of my brows, I felt very off-put that she didn't even explain what she was doing or discuss my preference. The only communication I had from her was her half heartedly trying to sell me products. She trimmed my eyebrows without even asking me if I wanted that. When she was finished she used the finishing oil on before I could even tell her not to since for some reason it always makes me break out. Then she asked me if I needed any products, and when I said no she just said "okay I'll ring you up". For YEARS I've known benefit to pride themselves in filling in your brows for you and covering up your red skin so you could go about your day straight from the boutique. Sometimes my skin gets sensitive so I prefer not to, but I at least like having the option. However this aesthetician was more concerned in collecting my payment and tip or selling me a product rather than ensuring I was okay with my service. Safe to say I will NEVER return to Benefit for brows ever again. read more

I've been coming to this brow bar location for over four years now and have never had a problem. Today, my appointment started almost 10 minutes late which is laughable since they cancel on the customer if the customer shows up past five minutes late, go figure. They also didn't ask me to sign any sort of waiver like they always have. Anyways, somehow they burnt under my brow with too hot wax or stripped away a layer of the skin, it's hard to tell what happened. Based on other recent reviews it looks like the whole staff is new and other customers have not been impressed either. Will not be returning again. read more

I have not been in along time and this place used to be good but I will not be going back even though I live close by. I showed up for my appointment and was a little bit early so waited outside the door, when they finally opened at 10am the worker walked up to the door, bent down to unlock it, got up and walked away. She did not open the door and greet me, she did not welcome me when I approached the counter to Check in, and then, unfortunately for me, she was my service tech. She did not tell me her name, she did not talk to me during the eyelash procedure and during the eyewash part of the procedure she left without telling me and a new person finished the job. So much for customer service. Too boot, my eyelash tint was not very good. read more

I went to benefit today to have my eyebrows tinted and waxed. Unfortunately my person (I think her name is Melanie)did a horrible job. First, she used a ruler to measure around my eyebrows and drew lines with a dark brown pencil around my eyebrows. Then she tinted them way too dark, waxed them uneven,and filled them with a pencil,super thick. I look like a Sesame Street character! I asked her to wipe off some of the pencil bc I was shocked when she showed me the final result! Never going back again. read more

I am so incredibly disappointed with this location and this brand. The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life for being a loyal customer and using Benefit for over seven years now. I've had a situations where I get weird text messages that are extremely unprofessional and I've also showed up to an appointment after driving an hour and being "forgotten". I usually do a brow tint every 3 weeks and it's always been difficult. They don't answer their phone, if they do once in a blue moon they are unfriendly and not helpful, and they are always late. I unfortunately received an extremely unprofessional text message and decided to no longer use this business. I emailed customer service and spoke with the headquarters on the phone and will be taking further matters. I do not recommend them anymore. A beauty service should not be this unprofessional to anyone no matter who you are. I have told all my friends and co workers who also have been referred by me to discontinue their time at Benefit. read more

I love this Benefit Cosmetics location! Everyone here is super friendly and very accommodating. And if you didn't know, during your birthday week, you get a free brow wax! Be sure to schedule an appointment during the calendar week (Sun-Sat). One year, at a different location, I had a slip up and scheduled it a day after my birthday which fell outside that window and they were super stingy and were giving me a hard time about it. Due to COVID though, they were able to honor it outside the window because they were closed for awhile. Let me tell you, the brow wax was such a treat after being cooped up for almost the whole year! I felt alive again! Zac did my eyebrows, who is super sweet, friendly, and easy to talk to. and just the right amount of chattiness! Zac was also very diligent and did a great job! From start to finish, I felt safe, especially with their COVID protocols and precautions. They even gave me a disposable poncho, hand sanitizer, etc. There's even an option to Venmo to avoid using cash tips. And probably better to do so rather than using credit card since there's usually a fee for the vendor. The best part about this boutique is I didn't felt any pressure at all from the workers here, and they seemed genuinely happy to help me, and happy for my birthday. I've been to other Benefit locations for my birthday wax and I felt like I was treated like a free loader. It's so refreshing at this location :) I'll definitely be back to see Zac! read more

Love going in to get them done with her, she understands my shape and never over waxes/plucks! She is always so sweet and gentle when it comes to her customer service and waxing service! In fact, I liked her so much that I booked a future appointment with her to get my eyebrows tinted. (my first time!) I was nervous as I really didn't know what to expect. She was calm, and patiently talked me through the appointment. My eyebrows look beautiful. Very subtle, but that is what I asked for. I get my brows tweased/tinted and my lashes tinted with Sammy - she is the best in the business I trust her with my life. I have OCD and she lets me nitpick exactly what I want- if I want touch ups during the session or something. I have great experiences every single time. While I haven't had any services done here in awhile, I felt the need to leave a review because I just left this boutique having not received the service I booked. Upon looking at my brows, my aesthetician seemed worried. She immediately asked me questions about when I had last gotten my brows laminated (I said I did an at-home kit about 3+ months ago). She then pulled another aesthetician for a second opinion, who also said she wouldn't recommend I get them laminated. Of course, I was bummed, so they asked a third aesthetician to take a look, to which she said she would not recommend I do a lamination, as my brows could essentially fry off. (apparently they were over processed - oops!). Although I left empty-handed, I was so impressed by their attention to detail and doing their due diligence to ensure I would not go down a wrong path - they definitely did not have to do that. They were kind in doing so and I'm honestly so happy they told me this, as I had zero idea my brows needed so much TLC. read more

Every time I come here to get my brows waxed, all the esthetician's and sales people are so friendly and I always walk out super happy with my brows. Today was no different, however, my complaint is against a customer that came into the store the same time as me. I made an appointment during my lunch break to get my brows done so I had limited time. I had trouble finding parking but still made it on time. Me and this other woman walked in at the same time and she immediately starts asking the only girl I see working (who happens to be the one who was doing my brows) a million questions. My brow girl acknowledges me and checks me in and I have a seat and this woman continues to ask questions! Another esthetician comes out and another woman comes in and is seated and gets started on her appointment right away. The talkative lady knew my esthetician had an appointment right then and even said "I feel bad because I know you have someone" but still continued to ask a million questions anyway. My esthetician finally went in to the back to grab the girl who was on lunch to help and passed this woman on to her. I know this is not the esthetician's fault -- it was bad timing and this woman was pushy. I've worked in customer service and I've been in that situation many, many times. My advice to her is to not be afraid to tell a customer to wait because you have a customer who made an appointment and who's time is valuable (like I said I was on my lunch break). My advice to the customer: the world doesn't revolve around you. You saw me waiting with an appointment, acknowledged it and didn't care. It was all about you. You could have made the situation right at the checkout counter by apologizing but you didn't. If you have that many questions, either wait or go to Sephora where there are more employees that can answer the same question you asked over and over again. read more

It's been awhile since I've visited to get my makeup done, and as usual, they did a bang up job. I walked out of there feeling like a million bucks, and shopping their products is so fun! Everyone is always super friendly and welcoming when I come in the door, and I *loved* my makeup artist, Brie. Not only did she do a fantastic job, she is also super personable. The shop is about half the size of what it used to be, and there's no blow dry bar next door anymore. But this is still by far my favourite place to have my makeup done. read more

As you can see from the many recent reviews, all of the workers recently left and new ones were hired and they have been really bad. Today I went and Amanda cut my eyelid while trimming my eye brows (I'm not sure how that even happens) and then completely ruined the shape of the brow. Not only do I now have a bruise but I never even received an apology for it. I have been coming every month for the last 2 years but today will be my last time. I requested an appointment with Samantha but she wasn't there when I arrived so someone else gave me an eyebrow wax. It was awful, they thinned out my eyebrows and took off way too much. I've never had these thin of eyebrows before and I was very specific on keeping them full.
