We ordered four drinks: one burnt milk boba, one "refreshing" drink, one jasmine tea with cheese foam, and one mulberry refresher with cheese foam. We waited over 20 minutes, and they kept messing up the mulberry drink - it took them three tries to get it right. Sadly, the drinks were underwhelming. The jasmine tea had no noticeable tea flavor, and the other three were simply bad. We ended up tossing all four drinks. If you're a fan of brown sugar milk drinks, the good place you can taste a milky and creamy flavor for this drink, in here all we taste was diluted milk with water. We stopped by this location after having ramen at Mazesoba Hero last Friday. Ordered a boba milk tea, a mango pomelo sago and a sort of Oreo slush in a reusable cup for free as a perk for ordering two drinks. My father mentioned that the boba milk tea was very acceptable (although he wouldn't come back for it specifically) and the Oreo slush was very watery. Now the mango pomelo sago I had, despite it being one of their specials, was truly awful. Some of the sago (and fruit) managed to be frozen while the crystal boba that they put into it had no sweetness (saltiness even) and was hard to bite onto. The workers are lovely and it's a nice space to grab a quick drink and go, but the drinks disappointed me for the premium price. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing -- I got the peach oolong milk tea special and the tea did not taste strongly of peach or oolong to me, and the strangest thing was that I think there were 3-4 different toppings inside mine when I just ordered boba. I think it comes with the drink(?) so I did have a bit of boba that I ordered inside, but also what seemed also like popping boba, crystal boba, and barley. It was a very weird taste and texture altogether, and I would have far more enjoyed my drink with just boba. There was also a disturbingly strong smell of ammonia throughout the store, perhaps from cleaning. Great addition to the area! I've been to the location in Arcadia and was pleasantly surprised to see a location in Walnut. The drinks are excellent. My S.O. raves about the Mango Pomelo Sago saying it's one of the best drinks she's ever had. For me, I stick to my green tea with boba. The fancy drinks don't always sit well with my stomach. If the shop is busy, then be prepared to wait a bit since some of their drinks take longer to make. The people working at the shop are friendly and serve you with a smile. I'll be back! Another cute boba place!! First time trying Ben Gong's and I'm happy I did. It's located in a plaza with plenty of parking. The inside of the shop is really cute, has a wishing tree as well as some chairs, tables, and a sofa. There's two outlets I saw as well, and the tables are big enough that you can study here. I got the uji matcha boba tea, sooooo yummy! I drank it so fast even though we had come here after dinner. The drink was perfect blend of bittersweet from the green tea and creamy from the milk. The tea cubes are little jellies and it's a great alternative to boba. Overall a nice refreshing drink for a very warm summer day. The store is bright, cool and well kept. I don't know if it was the cup design or the the fact that they went past where the cup and lid come together, but my drink kept leaking which was super inconvenient as I was taking it to go. Hmm. For the drinks that we got, they were all pretty average. They were all milk teas, but all of them tasted more like sweet milk rather than a nice balance of milk AND tea/taro.The regular milk tea was like pure milk while the burnt one at least had some flavor. The black rice taro was fine, but again, I wish it had more taro flavor than milk. Boba was closer to mush, but that may just be personal preference as I like mine a little more firm and "bouncy". Customer service was fine, I just felt rushed while trying to order as the cashier would either speak too fast, or not understand what I was saying so I had to repeat myself a couple times. Even then, I somehow ended up with a third drink instead of boba in my black rice taro lol? Given I should've asked why my order was almost $20, but I just was kind of confused and wanted to end talking. My fault for not questioning why the girl working there asked me what size (yakult teas only come in one size), but I just answered anyway thinking maybe she's training. Around the 10 min mark of waiting, I noticed the drink I was charged was incorrect and I was so far deep into waiting I just accepted that I was going to get a peach oolong milk tea instead. The drink itself is incredibly sweet, even at 50% sugar. The peach flavor shines through like no other, but I was really hoping for some oolong. To sum it up simply, it tasted like peach milk. To my surprise, there was also a topping in the drink that's not boba and I have no idea what it is, but it's interesting... My coworker ordered a strawberry sparkling tea and has also made a comment that it just tastes like an expensive strawberry soda with dehydrated fruit. The decor looks really great, a lot of tables for you to drink boba and chat with friends. There's also a wishing tree which looks rly cool. We each ordered our favorite drinks. My favorite of all time is Jasmine Tea Cube Milk Tea. I also tried my friends' orders and theirs also tasted amazing.
