We stopped here on the way back from Flagstaff. The food was very yummy. We were greeted right as we walked in. The place was clean and spacious. The one small complaint was the amount of time it took to get our order. I ordered the chicken parm hoagie & hubby ordered chicken wings. He said they were some of the best wings he has had. As for my sandwich, I would put my money on the bread being made in house or very very locally. I would absolutely seek this as my destination if I ever wanted to take a drive somewhere. After standing at the counter for 10 mins with zero acknowledgment and saying something as simple as, "I will be with you in a little bit", we got completely ignored. Horrible customer service. Extremely disappointed with the customer service. We pre-ordered a pizza and came in to pick it up, but the experience was awful. I stood at the register waiting while the employee continued pouring beers for customers at the bar without ever acknowledging that I was there. It would have taken just a few seconds to say, "I'll be right with you," but instead I was completely ignored. After waiting without any acknowledgment, I left without even picking up the pizza I had already ordered. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to decide that I won't be purchasing food from here again. We popped into Beni's Pizza & Diner while driving through Black Canyon City, and it was such a solid stop. The staff was super friendly and welcoming--it had that classic small-town diner vibe where everyone treats you like a regular. We ordered the Monster Pie and made a little swap--pepperoncini instead of the sausage. Total win. The pizza came out loaded with fresh toppings like mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and olives, and the pepperoncini added the perfect tangy kick. The crust was golden and crisp, and the cheese was perfectly melty. Also, drinks here are super affordable--beer, wine, and sodas all at prices that actually make you do a double take. The food isn't bad, but the service is so terrible I just can't bring myself to come back again. It doesn't matter how many people are in the restaurant, it doesn't matter how many employees are on shift. I have never been greeted in less than 5-10 minutes after sitting down. We sat for 27 minutes waiting for our pitcher of beer to be brought to the table. The main server treats everybody like garbage. No matter the time of day, no matter what you ask for, you seem to be bothering her. I think Beni and his family are great people, but if you aren't regulars or friends with the servers, you get bare minimum effort. read more

Ok so food is very good the Ravioli and fries are super good and I like them. But Service very bad very inconsistent waiters talking when food was ready. And when my sister spilled her drink they looked at the mess rolled their eyes and kept talking. When one came to help us she seemed like someone was forcing her to do it greatly. The wait was horrible I understand they were kinda understaffed but still we were one of the only customers it took around 40 minutes. Stopped in to try the pizza and sandwiches. We did start by having fried pickles. They looked a bit like French Fries. They were tasty. The pizza we had was good. The eggplant parmigiana and the cold cut sub was good. The reason for the three stars was the service. It was quiet when we went in. One or two more "one person" tables came in while we were there for lunch. The waitress was not attentive to our table. The cook/chef had to call over to her to get the pickles delivered. She was chatting with one of the other tables. She never did hear the cook/chef. She never came to check on us after the food was delivered. I had to get up and look for salt/pepper. Went today after we had gone on a great hike. The pizza is a homemade crust and I do love the sauce on the pizza. The service is great and seems to be a nice little gem for the this little town I will definitely go back when I am in the area again. I do wish they had more pizza topping Options and cocktails, Still was a great spot to eat. Very clean and tables are spaced out due to Covid. I placed an order for 2 calzones with extra marinaria. When my husband brought it home there was no extra marinara. I also asked for "sliced onions". When i cut it open the onions were chopped and not sliced. I called and let them know the extra marinara was not here the waitress said "well you didnt pay for the extra marinara". I told her it didnt matter if i paid for extra i asked for extra and expected to have paid for it. She started rambling and i couldnt make out what she said but i did hear her say i could come up and get the marinara. I live 20 mi utes away. That was not an option. This will be my last visit. Service was poor. Customer service from the server was worse. You dont talk to your customer that way. read more

Nyomi is the absolute best! ...Got my vehicle stuck on Maggie Mine Rd about 3.5 miles away (two wheel drive, shouldn't have attempted it, city folk... ); anyway, walked about 1.5 miles back (108 degrees out...) and (so) thankfully, a very caring couple (Rex and Holly) stopped to pick us up (me and my daughter) and drove us to Beni's where I had told AAA (roadside assistance) to come meet us there in hopes of being able to tow us out. We got situated in our booth, our server (Nyomi) promptly walks up (I'm sure she could see we were a bit disheveled...) "Can I get you guys something to drink?"... "yes please"... my daughter explained our situation and from there Nyomi went into 'mama bear mode' she looked at me, "go ahead and cancel AAA, there's no way they're going to be able to get you out of there, I got you." Still a little heat exhausted, it took a minute for what she said to resonate, she stopped by our table again, "you cancel AAA yet?!.. my friends will be here soon, we know this area, I know the exact spot you're stuck, they'll get you out of there", within a few more minutes...(and after my daughter scarfed down her slice (her comment, "Dad, this crust is amazing, you gotta try it...this pizza is like, the best!"...I'm still kicking on adrenaline so all I could do was suck down about three Diet Pepsi's...)), her friends Roger and Dana walk in...after some quick "thank you so much's"... and Nyomi also hooking us up with 'to-go sodas'; we left with Roger and Dana, they drove us back to our vehicle, hooked a rope to our hitch and successfully pulled us off the side of the cliff we were perpendicular too. Three amazing occurrences of absolutely selfless people that really saved us today (in Black Canyon City), kind hearted people that instilled the sense of helping those in need; and leading by example... makes me tear up a bit as I'm reflecting now... So, "yes", I'll definitely be back to Beni's...I may have missed out on my slice today, but the hospitality and care that was shown by Nyomi and the rest of the staff was so 'next level' that five stars pales in comparison to the number of stars that I wish I could give Nyomi and Beni's...you guys are the best! read more

Some friends and I were on the road and saw this place and decided to stop for some lunch and were glad we did. The food and service were great. We got the special of 1 large cheese pizza and 20 wings to share and it was more than enough and very well priced. This place is awesome. Definitely worth the stop. Stopped here randomly on way from Grand Canyon to Phoenix. So glad I did. The pizza is delicious. I was not expecting much from the outside but the inside is a cool little pizza joint. Beni's restaurant sign caught our attention when we were hungry but was uncertain cause many places looked closed until we seen the cars in the parking. We noticed locals are quite regular patrons along with those who travel through the small town. The service was amazing along with great food. Beni's offered an array of food choices aside from pizza. Yum! I stopped in for a single slice while in the area. Simple one topping pepperoni. I love NY style pizza and that's exactly what I got. Honestly I didn't know which type of pizza they served but was craving pizza. I was pleasantly surprised. The slices weren't immediately ready so I did wait for a few minutes (most likely while the sent it back threw the oven) but it was worth the wait. If I could give a zero I would. My boyfriend and I live in Cordes and we frequently visit my mom in black canyon and we usually order from Bennis on our way down. We made an order as we left our house, but by the time we made it to my mom's we realized we forgot our debit card. We called Bennis to cancel our order, my boyfriend apologized profusely and the worker Named Michelle had an attitude and hung up on him. We spend a lot of money there and did not appreciate the way she spoke to us and the fact that she just hung up mid conversation. Safe to say we will not be returning there.
