Horrible Horrible Service!!! I went in a couple of weeks ago and bought 15 gallons of the top of line exterior paint. Everything went pretty well although the personality department was very lacking. Not even a greeting when I walked in. Then yesterday I went to have some trim colors custom matched. It was the same two guys and the larger one explained that I had to wait 24 hours. I get a lot of paint made and I have never had to wait!! Anyway, I chose to wait the 24 hours. So this morning I called in to see if it was ready because it was before the 24 hours!! He said it was ready. When I got there there was this other guy who immediately became a jerk!!! All I did was ask for my paint!!! He then preceded to tell me that they weren't able to make the 1 gallon of yellow. I asked why didn't they call me? I could have made other arrangements. He had no answer. Then I asked for the other 4 gallons of paint and I would go somewhere else to make the yellow. He got so pissy!! He was outright rude!! He started shouting about how he would just "eat the paint" and assumed I didn't want it!! I left something out!! I had to wait additional time to get the other two gallons made. If they would have told me this in the beginning I would have gone somewhere else. They deserve to "eat The paint" the jerk cursed me out in Spanish. I could not believe what I was experiencing. Right now I'm at Lowe's getting all 5 gallons made. The paint took as long to make as it did to tight this review. Rudest experience of my life!! The guy that caused me out should be fired. This place has the worst customer service. First of all, the two guys there, including the manager, were cold and stone faced without a smile. Secondly, they refuse to exchange the color samples that were made wrong even though the mistakes were on their end. I had to drive back to the store and pay for a new sample. They were not at all apologetic and insisted that I had to pay for a new one to be made. It was really disappointing from a well know chain stores. read more

Appreciated that the young gentleman staffing the store on a Sunday afternoon before closing was patient and didn't rush the customers in the store, including me. Benjamin Moore has a smaller collection of colors than some of the big box stores, but they can color match the formulae if you have a swatch number, though they might work differently with their sheens. read more

So during this long period of being sorta trapped at home, you get to really staring at your walls. During this staring contest, I noticed that my bathroom walls were looking a little tired. So me and the Mrs. cruised through some of the big boxes and nothing really caught our eye. Driving by this Benjamin Moore, we decided to pop in and see what's what. They have an amazing selection of colors, and grouped by room, by hue, by style, and so on. They also have these great booklets that show trends and how the colors look in various rooms. Once you find a color you like, then the paint dude (probably not his official title, but he was chill) recommends the type paint. He recommended a good primer and then a type of paint that wears well in wet environments like bathrooms. He mixed them up, threw in a couple of stir sticks and some keys to open the cans and sent me off with some installation tips and great advice. Buying paint here is a real experience not to be missed. You'll think back to all the other places you bought paint and then hit yourself on the forehead with resounding "Doh!" When we got home we sanded a bit, spackled a tad, and then finally applied a coat of the primer. It looked so smooth and professional I almost didn't want to cover it with color, but I soldiered on. After it dried, I applied the paint to the two bathrooms and it came out beautiful. This paint is way better quality than you're used to. Between the advice and the great product, your project will have a giant head start. After seeing the finished product, I was 8% more smug that day. I won't deny, the paint can be pricey, but then you don't buy this kind of stuff everyday. If you're tempted to go buy the cheap stuff from the hardware store, go get your coffee from the arches instead of the green logo place and after a short while, you will have made up the difference in your budget. Absolutely the best ! From the moment you enter , you know your in a top tier painting establishment. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The manager is often right there with a customer helping with even the smallest details . They have designers who are on site to help with color consulting at no charge employed by Benjamin Moore and also available for hire separately. Top scores in all categories. Parking is tight , might try the street out front or I believe there are free spots at businesses close by. It's a busy area. So happy with my experience. read more

I hate to say it, but I was that customer today. Came in 10 mins prior to closing needing two pints of separate colors mixed fully expecting the store employee to turn me away. But the guy at the counter was able to help me out and have me ready to go before closing. To top it off, the paint looked great on our walls! I called to get a price quote on tinting paint that I bought, Benjamin Moore brand. The guy was very rude on the phone and said we don't work with paint bought outside this store and legally we can't do it. Yet every other paint store said that's not right they should be tinting paint from their company. Completely rude person on the phone. read more

I drove from Brentwood to this Benjamin Moore paint store to buy exterior paint for my house. I was there around noon and one other customer was in the store. 2 guys were working. I asked if they could do a color match and they said yes....but then said I'd have to pick the paint up on Monday. I live 30 mins away so that's a bit inconvenient. I asked why and they said because they don't do color matches on weekends. Excuse me? It was strange. I then called the corporate office who found a local Benjamin Moore retailer at Ace Hardware in Brentwood where they do color match on weekends. It took Vince, at ACE, a whole 15 minutes to do my simple color match. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be going back to the Pleasant Hill store. From my perspective there was no reason they couldn't do it right then and there. If this is their store policy, I'd like to know why. And the two people that were working there seemed like they wanted to do the bare minimum. read more

Staff are totally unhelpful and very negative. I went in with an issue associated with a house we are building and was told no no no no no to every question I asked there had to be a solution. There is always a solution even if it's not optimal and yet these people insisted on telling me I couldn't do what my contractor had already told me I need to do. I cannot recommend this store if you need help. These are not the people to go to. All they're going to do is tell you you're wrong and you should order your contractor to do something different than is already been started. That's not helpful read more

These guys were very helpful and nice. We were looking for a certain paint and color to paint cabinets. They were patient with us to decide on colors and gave us great tips for prep and primer before our base coat. My wife called later that day for advice and they were very polite and told her to trust his advice. Sure enough everything turned out great. I would definitely recommend this store for paint and products and great advice. We drove from Cordelia to buy the INSL-X paint. read more

The paint we received here was a great match, despite coming from a half-full can that had been sitting in my garage for 10 years. As a painting contractor, having a local paint store where I can get what I need quickly and without mistakes is very important. Unfortunately, finding a store like that took a several years. Creative Paint in Pleasant Hill is pretty much the only paint store I go to anymore. Their staff are knowledgable, courteous, and they get my orders right. And, unlike some other stores, they aren't constantly moving staff to other stores and hiring new people who don't know who I am or what they're doing. They keep what I need in stock, always have my orders ready when I arrive, and I almost never have to wait in line to pay. I would highly recommend this store. read more

After having my paint mismatched three different times I came to this location. Peter and Liam are rock stars for paint. Both of them are extremely helpful, polite and entertaining! I went to get a copy of some samples the other day, I could tell they were busy but they were very patient and knowledgeable. I had to drop off my samples and pick them up before they closed. I have used Yelp for years when researching new businesses and restaurants, but I have never written a review. It was Liam's excellent service at Creative Paint that influenced me to create a Yelp account. After several failed paint matches at Home Depot, I went to Creative Paint with the same samples that I took to HD, which again were epic fails (you could obviously see the difference between the original paint and my touched up areas), Liam was able to make near perfect matches!
