Don't let this stop you from visiting though as the line moves at a decent pace. Ben's burrito was a decent sized burrito, especially for breakfast. It came stuffed with a good amount of egg, bacon, roasted red peppers, tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, and cheese. I'm glad the salsa was served on the side as it would have made my burrito soggy on the ride home. To drink I decided to try one of their suggested flavor combinations - the campfire mocha, which was your standard mocha with brown sugar and toasted marshmallow. Wow this was super sweet. I thought it would be on the sweeter side, but definitely not this sweet. Barely could taste the espresso as well. Will definitely ask for a double next time around. read more

Our family has a condo in Surfside, and we always try new local spots when we are in town. We have gotten a few things from Benjamin's at the farmers market, and decided to try it. The dossent (cross between a donut and a croissant) was incredible, the chocolate chip scone was on the dry side, and the breakfast sandwich was delicious. Everyone was super helpful and the service was great. We look forward to going back. read more

Benjamin's Bakery and Cafe is the absolute number one Bagel Spot to enjoy and the Surfside area. Their coffee is absolutely phenomenal. They roast the beans themselves. The bagels are crunchy on the outside and super soft on the inside and last for 2 days. I had a Reuben that was phenomenal. Not too much meat and the bread was amazing. I ordered iced lattes every day that I was at the beach. I even bought one of their 30th Anniversary t-shirts. I absolutely love supporting local over chain restaurants any day and this is officially a favorite of ours. They have seating inside and outside the place is absolutely adorable the colors on the paint for the outside of the building are friendly and inviting. Small Cafe and bakeshop feel. It's definitely more of a cafe than a bakery, so that was disappointing. This box cost us $16. Apple fritter was the best with actual Apple chunks, black and white cookie, pineapple upside-down was dense and needed more syrup and the cream in the middle needed to be softer, the sticky bun was dry and frosting added would be better. read more

Everytime i'm in myrtle beach this place is a must stop. The surfside beach is the perfect combination of a healthy breakfast and the bread is insanely fresh and soft. We loved this area and we loved this neighborhood bakery/restaurant. There was a pretty long line on the weekend morning we went. We were thinking it must be the only morning spot in the whole area. But no, it was just because it's that good. We had a couple of bagel sando's. One of which we ate so fast we forgot to take a pic (it really was a long line). They were both excellent- restaurant eggs taste so much better. Busy for a good reason, this cute local bakery hits all the marks. Great iced coffee with a ton of different flavors, variety of fresh baked breads, bagel sandwiches and baked goods! They had some inside and outside seating and even with a line, once you order your food comes out fairly quick. I loved the sandwich on the bialey and the bacon was nice and salty (jalapeño cream cheese was fantastic as well). Good execution, soft bread, and the egg wasn't overcooked. It's not close to me but I had reason to go with a friend. Their bagels are pretty good but on the sweet side. They toast nicely. Not the texture I'm used to from NY though. They call themselves a bakery as well but there were very few baked goods to choose from. I think Coffee is their main thing. They were very nice and helpful and even told us we could get the discount of half off the bagels even though we still had ten minutes to go. It's cute and country styled. Not great ambiance. We took our items to go. I'll go back when I'm in the area but won't plan a trip just to get bagels. read more

Ok, the only thing I had hear was an iced oat milk dirty chai and it was the best I've ever had, so I had to say SOMETHING. The SMELL of this place alone is worth stopping in- it legit smells like bread shop in Italy . In addition to a breakfast and pastry menu, they have roasted coffee and fresh baked loaves to go. Benjamin's Bakery is a really good breakfast/brunch spot. When we arrived, there was a line in front of the store , but it moved pretty quickly. They have tables inside and outside. One of the inside tables opened up, so we chose to sit inside. They have lots of bagels, pastries, coffee and others. We got bagels, lattes and pastries. All were very good. They staff were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Benjamin's. We will be back. I give them a 9/10 rating. read more

Greeting. I am part of the Ethereal Barrel Squad and would like to say Benjamin's has been providing quality breakfast eats since the fall of 1994. This place is still great but the atmosphere needs to be tuned up a notch. This place used to be grunge and feel like a fever dream. Now it's all fast fashion and totally not based. read more

Went there on a Tuesday and a farmers market was nearby. The blueberry bagel had no flavor and the chewyness wasn,t good, not much cream cheese either. Sitting inside the people in the line are right up next to your table invading your space. Not much choice for creamer for coffee if you can get to it. Sitting outside too hot not enough shade. When they are the open market at Market Common very good there. read more

Bakeries can be "off" on any given day so I went to this place 3 times in about a 2 week period to see if it was a place I'd want to go regularly. It is not. Every time was a new issue. Here are the visits: 1. The blueberry danish was ok, nothing to write home about. The banana nut muffin was gross. Way too dry. And zero offer to heat it up or put anything on it. 2. I got a sandwich for lunch. They did what I call "the 7-Eleven" and put a bunch of meat at the front to make it look like a big portion but in reality that's actually all there is. They serve it with bagel chips which tasted like yesterday's leftovers dried out into chips. If they were fresh, then their bagels are not edible. 3. I got a blueberry muffin. There was 1 blueberry in it. Also it was dry. This place was probably good at some point in the past to garner its reputation, but sadly today it is lazy and not worth any meal. read more

Only issue we had was the girl taking our order kept charging us for extra things we did not order. My husband asked for a 2 egg, ham and cheese bagel and she charged us for 2 extra eggs, extra ham and cheese, we caught it before paying and she took it off the total. However, we did not catch that she also charged us extra for hummus that we never ordered, he doesn't like hummus so he had to send his sandwich back and we paid extra for something we didn't order. At this point I did not feel like waiting back in line to be refunded the money...and my daughter and I were finished eating by the time he received his correct order. read more

Laid back beach vibes on the interior with a few tables and chairs for outdoor or indoor dining. The positive: on a Saturday morning, they kept the line moving quickly, food came out quickly, and we met a couple of friendly employees, one of whom told us about the history while we sat and ate. The negative: my bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich wasn't great. Bagel was dry, bacon was hard and really salty. One of my biggest pet peeves is when places like this don't have prices on their menu boards. They have paper menus with prices, but the item I wanted wasn't even in there to get a price for so I had to ask. I know not the biggest deal, but I hate holding up the line asking for prices. The restaurant inside was crowded and hard to move around. The sticky bun I tried was dry and just mid on flavor. Tax is 10.5% and they charge a 4% service fee on top of that! If it was disclosed somewhere I didn't see it. If you're looking for good bagels I'd try Bagel Factory nearby. Bagels there are bigger, better, and cheaper! read more

I woke up early to go here due to all the hype and good reviews and I walked in to a line that wrapped around the building and out the door. Super sad I was disappointed. The breakfast sandwich had microwave McDonald yellow eggs and the bagel was super stiff. I can honestly say Dunkin' Donuts breakfast sandwich is better. My son enjoyed the spicy vegan sandwich and my wife REALLY liked the cold brew coffee. I don't eat any of that so I was sad enough I didn't even finish the sandwich. #Disappointed. read more

First timers at Benjamin's, visited on our daughters recommendation. Bagels are good, my husband and daughter love them more than me. Bakery selection is large, we had a blueberry croissant and the Whoopi pie, both were ok, not the best I've ever had. Coffee is fantastic!! Workers were friendly and we received our food in a timely manner. I didn't enjoy watching the gentleman cooking on the grill eat as he prepared food. Kind of a turn off. read more

I've walked past Benjamins for many years and it has always smelled amazing. I finally went in on a Saturday morning around 9am and picked up a few different items for my family. With Saturday being a move-out/check-in day I anticipated a wait. Happily I was out in 15 minutes from my arrival to my order being filled. My to go order consisted of sesame bagels, cinnamon rolls, whoopie pies, red velvet donut holes, and croissants. Everyone was very happy with the portion size, taste, freshness, and overall quality of our food. Service was very friendly and efficient. I am looking forward to my next visit to Benjamins! read more
