Probably one of the worst Thai restaurants around the area!!! When we first walked in, got greeted by an Indian employee. She seated the 4 of us and gavs us menus. There were 2 other tables with dine-in customers. We received water with tepid temperature, no ice. Most likely tap water... After briefly looking at the menu full of pricey appetizers and entrees, we decided on a few items. But the server was nowhere to be found. Saw her talking on the phone with somebody for 5-10 minutes ans didn't see another waitress in the restaurant... Anyway, when she finally came over we ordered a Papaya Salad, a Crispy Pork Belly, Crispy Garlic Chicken, Pad Kana (Broccoli) with Chicken, and a Pad See Ew Noodle entree along with a Thai Iced Tea. 5 minutes later, the Indian server came back telling us that they ran out of Crispy Pork Belly. So, we had to ask to see the menu again... All of the food items were peiced between $10-$20!!! Again, the waitress was attending to something in the back and then went around somewhere until we had to call for her... Once she came around to our table again, we requested for the Grilled Pork Salad and another Thai Iced Tea. At that point, we were pretty fed up with the nonchalant service which was getting increasingly slow by the minute!! We got the Thai Iced Tea and refills on water. I think it took about 15-20 minutes for the foods to come out. We received the Chicken with Broccoli first and were blatantly surprised by how small the portion was for paying $15!!! Then the Papaya Salad came, the Crispy Garlic Chicken, a big bowl of Rice and the Pad See Ew. We wanted all of the foods to be 4-5 star spice level, but none of them were spicy! Noodles were bland, the Chicken with Broccoli tasted like it had no chili, the Papaya Salad wasn't 5 star spicy at all and the Grilled Pork Salad we got didn't taste like the usual Thai type of salad. It felt more Indian or it tasted more Indo due to some kind of seasoning they put. And the grilled pork did not seem fully cooked!!! Took one bite and could NOT eat any more of it. BAD tasting and wrongly made!!! I don't know what that was, but taste was very off. Wasted $13!!! Anyhow, we finished most of the entrees besides the 2 salads... The Crispy Garlic Chicken was actually pretty good out of all of the entrees we had ordered. The Jasmine Rice was fine and the Thai Iced Tea was alright as well. The Ambiance? Not that comfortable. Service you ask?! Probably a 2 out of 10. Food quality and taste?!? Between a 1 and 6 out of 10. Had much better Thai foods at other restaurants. I wouldn't recommend this place at all!!! read more

What I really love about living in Maple Valley is the abundance of great little restaurants that are close by to where I live. This is the latest little gem that I discovered. We used to live near a pretty good Thai place in Renton, and was missing that Since we moved. Located directly adjacent to the Fred Meyer store off of Maple Valley Highway. This place is in a great location with plenty of parking. I placed an order online and was kept apprised of the order status. The restaurant was very clean and the server super friendly. I got the pad Thai And chicken wings appetizer. The chicken wings were a generous portion with a sweet Thai chili sauce. The pad Thai was a generous, serving and not too sweet or spicy. Generous portions of chicken breast were interspersed with the noodles. If you're in the Maple Valley area I highly recommend this place. read more

I should have turned around when I realized other than one diner, the place was completely empty but eating Thai food sounded good to me and I really wasn't a fan of the other Thai restaurant located in the Maple Valley Town Square. It took a few minutes before I was greeted and told to pick any table. I ordered the Bangkok Street-Styled Grilled Pork and a side order of rice. The grilled pork was flavorful but was over cooked and like shoe leather. The pork came with stir fried vegetable which were nice and crunchy, but must have been sitting for awhile because the vegetables weren't even warm. The rice was mushy. The other diner in the restaurant already had his food, so I was surprised at how long it took for me to get my food. When I finally got my food, there was no follow up to see how my food was or if there was anything else I needed. When I got ready to pay, no one came out and after a few minutes I had to stick my head in the kitchen area to come out so I could pay. read more

I eat here often. The ambience is casual. The regular waitress is kind and attentive. My favorites are Kee Mao with fried tofu, fresh spring rolls, green curry, and pad Thai. We order takeout probably once a month and it's always consistent good quality. The curry is always thick and creamy (unlike other places where it can be watery) and their spice levels are right on target (I usually get a 3 or 4 for us adults and a 0 for the kids). Lots of fresh veggies in the dishes. The to go packaging is awesome quality as well. I read the earlier reviews so went into this place cautious, but boy did they blow us away! First off, we ordered tons of food: Veggie pad Thai, green curry, pad see ew, pineapple fried rice, chicken fried rice, and two Tom yum soups. My biggest concern is that we were doing takeout and worried about the food being lukewarm and not very tasty. But guess what? We loved everything on the menu. The Tom yum soup was delicious, generous portion of chicken and lots of the tasty mushrooms. The See Ew noodles hit the spot, pineapple fried rice came with the perfect amount of spice. Tastes delicious until the food poisoning hits. I decided to try it because I work nearby. I ordered tofu pad thai, and it tasted delicious. But soon after I was very ill and had to run for the bathroom. I opted for tofu because my coworker had previously received undercooked chicken. Also, the website said $9.95, and I got charged $14 something. I got a to go order, however the restaurant itself has storage and supplies everywhere. Quite messy, the ambiance was not great. With no advance reservations, we took a huge family here for dinner during Christmas week. We ordered quite a few dishes we'd never tried, along with the standard favorites and everyone had some of each. Every dish had such individual and unique flavor, and we all loved them. The restaurant is fairly intimate, with low lighting that makes it seem like yours is the only table in the room. Our waitress was just lovely. The family is still raving over the fantastic dinner there and we've decided to make this a tradition during Christmas week, and probably every other excuse we can find! I've tried this place a few times hoping for a different result each time. The food lacks flavor and the spice is spicy but just red pepper flake spicy so the spice it's self lacks flavor as well. But what I think the worst part of the meal was is the smell. As I brought the food up to my mouth it put off a smell of raw egg or dogs breath... pretty off putting. Disappointed barely touches on the reality of the experience of today. I remember when the first location opened in Covington and was THRILLED to see one located in Maple Valley! I haven't lived in the town for a few years so today we wanted to go out after the Holiday and stopped in. It was completely empty when we walked in, so we were seated immediately. The decor has remained the same but we noticed a definite decline in the seating and were cautious when ordering because my mother has had some very unpleasant experiences here with cold food, still frozen fried spring rolls! It was going to be interesting, we knew. After ordering, it didn't take long for the fried spring rolls to come out and thankfully they were completely cooked through. Next came out our main order! At first we realized the crispy garlic chicken was MASSIVE amount and we definitely didn't need TWO orders, the side of rice was dry, and crumbly. The green curry was not even eatable! It was appalling! My poor mom was sick to her stomach to see how the quality of even the chicken has gone down hill! We will not be back. Everyone's pad Thai tasted like ketchup and I'm sorry, but for $101.00 and some change this piss poor quality of food is NOT worth it! We hope that this small business can turn it around but first let's address the quality of food! Also, the restaurant needs a deep cleaning. I think this company expanded too quickly! read more

Benjarong is right in the middle. We have ordered dinner through them multiple times over the past year, sometimes the dishes are right on point, sometimes they fall very flat. In my opinion, it's due to there only being two people working in the restaurant each time I pick up our orders. I understand overhead and keeping costs down, especially during the pandemic, however the quality is affected and could turn new and existing business away. Try them out, who knows? This was a very conflicting visit. Benjarong easy has the best pad thai in the maple valley area even though they need to learn what spice is. I have been going here for years and have always have had good experiences and good pad thai. However this time I went it did not set well in my stomach, this happened to my girlfriend as well. The last two days have been miserable and i'm pretty sure it might have been food poisoning but I didn't throw up at all. The restaurant has an okay rating from the king county health department and this was reflected on this visit. However if you were to ask me if I would go again. Honestly I am beyond stoked for Maple Valley to finally have a legitimate Thai restaurant! I've had the Kee Mao, Fried Rice, See Ew, and brown rice as a side. All of them were great! Not overly salty, plenty of Thai basil, good portions. As for the restaurant itself, it is evident an effort was made to create a relaxed, nice dining area. Very clean. We've ordered from here quite a few times over the shutdown and they're always busy, so they must be doing something right! The service isn't always great (hence 4 of 5 stars), but the food is tasty and decently sized for the price. We've tried the Tom Kha, Pad Thai, & Kow Pad Pineapple fried rice the most (easily 1x every 1-2 months) and enjoy them all! Mild has 0 spice to it, and the medium is closer to a 2 star (in my opinion) so very tolerable. read more

My first and only visit to this restaurant didn't go so well. It wasn't my choice I was 1 in a group of 10. I guess the "Okay" score in the window should have been a warning. I have food allergies and asked to make sure there was no fish sauce in any of my sauces. Was advised this could be done. After a long wait the food came out. I was given the entree and not the combo I had ordered, the waitress had difficulty with the spoken English language begins to argue with me that this is what I ordered. When ordering I held up the menu and pointed to what I wanted. Ii didn't order wrong you wrote it down wrong. I got frustrated and she sets it down in front of me. She went to get more plates for the others. I did not start eating right away. After 2-3 trips from the kitchen she grabs the plate from in front of me and tells me it's not mine this one had the fish sauce. Thank God I didn't eat it. I could have gone into anaphylaxis. The waitress takes the entree served to me and gives it to someone else. I didn't touch it but how could she know that? Just gross The correct meal was delivered finally and the food was great. We had asked for separate tickets and was told this would be ok. The waitress didn't write our names down just wrote orders on a tablet. Instead of getting a ticket she comes and tells you how much you owe. Because of the group size we got an 18% gratuity added on. She would tell you how much you owed cash someone out come back and give you a different price. There was nothing given to you to tell what you were actually paying for. She mixed up the change giving people other people's change. The woman in our group who suggested this place says this is a standard practice with the tickets.
