I cannot thank Dr. Blair enough. I had a possible retinal detachment on a Saturday. He and his assistant came to the office on a Saturday to see me. Apparently regular ERs and other facilities do not have the equipment to check for eye emergencies on the weekend. I cannot thank the team enough. Thorough & efficient eye exam. Actual exam with Dr Zangorianos was quick and complete. I would appreciate a short explanation of what he is seeing throughout the exam versus a conclusion of "everything looks fine". I like details. What i did not like was the office environment. Office is uncomfortably cold especially when having to be there for over 3 hours. 3 hours for an eye exam, even with dialation, seems excessive to me. read more

doctors are great at what they do but that's where it stops. schedule anything and it's a nightmare. don't expect a phone call back. had eye surgery scheduled twice each time the day before they call wanting $$$$ money before and if you have questions they have to have some one call you back. then after surgery you have to go different practice for post op. read more

the appointment was fine no problems, the problem started when I tried to set up and schedule my surgery. I called 3 times with no responses. I then went in person to the office to get on the schedule and of course the schedule person was not there that day. I was promised they will call me right away. 4 weeks later I went to another doctor. wasted my time and have to go thru tests again! read more

My first appointment was in February. Talked to a woman before my exam and told her I wanted the corrective lenses to where I wouldn't need glasses or contacts if I could meet the requirements. After the exam I did. They wanted to set up surgery right away. Said I need to discuss with my employer to see what their requirements are since my job is driving a truck. If I had to be off the entire 6 weeks I wanted to do it in January. I said I would call. They scheduled an appointment for December. Employer said they were fine as long as I had a Dr approval on driving. I called and was told someone would call me back. I was called and told someone would call in 2 weeks. Someone called and said since I didn't schedule surgery on day of exam they would call when available. Nobody called. I called several times. Ann finally called and basically blamed me. And said I would have to come in for another exam and then schedule surgery. I already had another appointment with another dr 2 days later. All I can say is I would NEVER recommend or TRUST this office. read more

Horrible experience with this company . They do not tell you things up front and never return calls . It's hard to imagine they would work on your vision and treat you so poorly . The doctors have been fine but the office staff and people who do the testing are not trained properly . read more

I should have learned my lesson. Had LASIK years ago, and my right eye went out immediately (3 months), so had an enhancement that lasted only a few years, and then my left eye only lasted a few years as well. Just had cataract surgery on my right eye and distant vision is at best what it was before, certainly not better as promised. I did get the cataract removed I suppose. Now being told need a third LASIK on the right eye, but from research seems very risky. So what I got for the thousands I paid after insurance is significantly worse up close vision, and the same, if not worse distant vision. Will say doctors and staff are always very professional and nice. But I'm 0 for 4 on surgeries to my eyes. I'll give them a very hesitant 2 star, only due to the friendliest of staff and doctors. read more

We have left over 10 messages for someone to call us back to schedule eye surgery. It was supposed to have been done after our Oct 2024 appointment. It is 4-17-2025 and no one calls back or really cares to call back. Horrible way to run a health care business. read more

This review pertains only the surgical center. If I could give this facility a 0 I would. It is akin to a veterinary snip and spay clinic. Get you in and out. I had an issue with transportation after complex eye surgery. I could not see out of the eye that was not operated on and I told whoever was supposed to be showing me what to do, about prescriptions,care,etc. My caregiver for the recovery is a doctor themselves, and after waiting for an extended (an hour and a half) to be called for an 8 am appointment, I told them to go and they would be called. I was assured that my ride would be called in plenty of time to be there and hear my discharge instructions. They did not do so, so don't trust what is told to you at the surgery center. I have no idea and still don't know what my instructions were. My treatment was insensitive and far from caring. I will not subject myself to such an experience again, it was traumatic. read more

My 86 year old mother went for her 6 month checkup at a 1:50 pm appointment and at 4 pm she was told that they had several surgeries in the morning and were running behind. She saw others come and go as she was just sitting there. She said forget it she had been there 2 hours and never saw the Dr. She left and all they said was we will call you to reschedule. developed pseudomonas, and it has been several weeks of lost vision, stress and alarms for multiple drops but the staff here- all of them- have been amazing! Professional but compassionate, including visits (daily, then 2x week, then weekly) including one weekend emergency call. Reassuring physicians and luckily regaining sight. I called to get an appointment. I was told to go to Visionworks. Bennett and Bloom only want surgery patients.

I was made to drive to 3 different places. Never took care of my eye pressure. Was told Dr. Slayden.was the one to deal with that .even though 40 is really high eye pressure. Was told I had thyroid eye disease. I didn't. Told her I was being treated for Cushing's. She said oh yeah that would make my eyes swell. The truth is I knew that the swelling had to do with a doctor over prescribing steroids for me and a genetic condition that ran in my family. She knew nothing about me. I dropped Bennett and Bloom and told my insurance company why. Because of their wonderful care I've had to have a tear duct in my right eye ran another way. I still have problems with my right eye. Would not recommend them to non of my family. read more

While they are supposed to be the best eye doctors the way the office on Leesgate is absolutely ridiculous! At my visit today so far I've waited 3 hours and watched people who arrived after me to wait. One person just got called back after waiting 10 minutes. I would rather drive further away and not have to give up a whole day only to be passed by time after time. This has happened every single visit in this office. No one will explain. Today we were told they took 7 walk ins. And that's fine but they were taking them in front of scheduled patients. Very un professionally ran facility! They need someone who knows how to run a medical schedule! And why do they get rude when we want answers. Crazy! read more

The eye doctor and surgeon are skilled and professional, however their scheduling and billing services are a mess. Billing amounts and descriptions kept changing and billed for more than agreed to amount. Appointment times were offered but not scheduled which resulted in wasted trips to their office. My eye exam was very high tech without a lot of waiting. I was seen by Dr. Z and he gave me about 5 minutes of his time without asking me if I had any questions. 1. I would have liked to sit down with the scheduler instead of a quick phone call. I could never get my appointment scheduler (Kim) and her voice mail said she would call back within 24 hrs. Very disappointed 2. I was not told that a $100 fee was required at the time of cataract surgery. Very shocked 3. My follow up appointments was with the wrong vision center. So I had to reschedule. Worst place ever of course this is my opinion. This review is for the Elizabethtown, Kentucky office. Dentist, E.N.T, and any oral surgeons are able to take care of patients. What is the problem with Bennett and Bloom? This is the second time I have had an issue trying to get medical care at this facility. The first time after lengthy discussions and accommodation, they agree to see me. When I call yesterday for and appointment I did let them know that I am unable to wear a facemask. I told them I could and will wear a face shield. I was told this was not a problem. But upon arrival this morning they said Dr. Signal was uncomfortable and unwilling to see me. So, because of my inability to not be able to wear a mask, they denied seeing me. I am not the only person that has this issue. Many people have suffered trauma that makes wearing a mask impossible. What accommodations are made for the few? read more

Quality Eye Care found here! I went in for some testing and everyone I dealt with was kind and caring. The facilities were all state of the art and the waiting rooms (yes, there are multiples) were all clean and provided you with water to drink and bathrooms nearby. I've been coming here for nearly 6 years. Absolutely excellent staff. Highly recommend for all of your eye disease related needs.

My husband is having eye surgery. First, we got a call that they did not have the correct medication so he had to do eye drops before after being told he would not. The eye drops cost over $100 for each eye, over $200, and yet we still had to pay a fee when we arrived the day of surgery. They told my husband to arrive at 9:30 and then he would be in surgery by 1030 and out by noon. He could not eat 6-hours before surgery. He was not even brought back for prep until 11:45, no explanation, no contact, nothing, just sit and wait like cattle going to slaughter. We chose this eye center because he would not need drops ahead of time and because they were so specific in the timeline. They failed on both of these points. If you are going to grow, be prepared to handle the volume or do not take on the patients, they are humans and deserve better treatment. I would not recommend Bennett & Bloom. read more

At one point in time I was satisfied with Bennett and Bloom Eye Centers...then I was made to see Dr. Peplinski because my regular Doctor left the practice. Well, let's just say that was my last visit to their office. Simple reason, I do not like arrogant medical professionals with a chip on their shoulders. May 2016: I was referred to Dr. Singal at Bennett and Bloom by my optometrist and it not any better. I miss Dr Mathis my original Doctor who has left the practice. read more

After experiencing a decreased field of vision while traveling in Europe, upon my return to the USA, I immediately sought medical advice from an optometrist. I was referred to Dr. Stephen Bloom, an ophthalmologist who specialializes in retinal diseases. I was diagnosed with a retinal hemorrhage and was treated for several months. After 3 years, I still see Dr. Bloom for follow up care. Dr. Bloom is a very knowledgeable, skilled physician. He is prompt, efficient and explains the treatment and expected outcomes. I highly recommend him for diseases of the eye. I have also seen Dr. Bennett, who did a lens implant in both eyes after removing cataracts. The process was simple and quick and my vision has been better than anytime since high school. read more

Waste our time!!! Our appointment was at 11:10. We were told that my wife's eyes would need to be dilated (not so) and I therefore felt the need to accompany my wife so as to drive her home. After a half hour of waiting in the waiting room (cough, cough) she was taken by an assistant for prep work. We then waited another hour or so (cough, cough) at which time we were seated in the doctor's office. After another twenty minutes or so the young doctor pops in, spends a few minutes reviewing the prep photos and then gives several minutes worth of advice. It turns out that there was never a need to dilate, so I could have spent a beautiful day elsewhere. So we spent over two hours on work that took less than fifteen minutes. I was referred to Bennett and Bloom Eye Center after being diagnosed with a corneal ulcer. I received excellent care. They saw me several times and I was able to minimize the damage to my eye to a great degree . The staff there was friendly and worked to find appointment times that were doable for our situation. I think my local Eye Doctor's office was quite wise in sending me there and I am thankful for their expert care. I would recommend them. read more

My mother had cataract surgery, which was supposed to be fairly routine. During the course of her second eye surgery, they dropped pieces of the cataract they were removing into her eye, behind her cornea, requiring an emergency surgery in the hospital. The follow-up care has been horrendous. Hours and hours of waiting in offices where she has been shifted back and forth between offices, including appointments with two doctors across town on the same day. 6 hours devoted to follow-up visits where they shrug and say, "We'll see if there's any improvement in two weeks." She can no longer read, watch television, or drive. She has gone from a life or relative independence to total dependence. I would not recommend them. Three hour waits, running back and forth between offices, and vague, unhelpful answers are the most frustrating issues. read more

Two of the doctors botched my retinal detachment and after two excruciating surgeries told me they could no longer help me and left me with virtually no vision in one eye. I found another doctor who was able to save my vision. Less important, but still a factor was the impatience with which my questions were met, before and after each operation, resulting in my having to seemingly badger them for information. I had Lasik surgery with Dr. Bennett over ten years ago. He did an excellent and wonderful job, and my vision is still perfect. Even better, being in my fifties -- I rarely even need reading glasses. I highly recommend Dr. Bennett and the friendly staff at the center. read more
