We've had to take our son to Bennet & Bloom Eye Center for a surgery consult. He sees Dr Rowland. This office is so thorough & efficient. The staff are so nice. It's well managed. Dr. Rowland is exceptional. Her office space is designed beautifully. It's a very calm atmosphere. So far his procedure has been great. We follow up in a week. Thank you Dr. Rowland for taking such good care of my boy. I really can't say enough about this experience. Everything from scheduling to the visits and patient care has been amazing. read more

If I am rating the level of care we received it would be all 5 stars. The care was excellent. If I am rating the transparency and accuracy of just how much money it would cost, it would be no stars. What was originally a few thousand dollars turned into more than double what we were led to believe after all of the independent billing from the surgery center, anesthesiologist, and the additional money they didn't divulge up front. This pertains to the surgical center at Leesgate. If I could give this facility a 0 I would. It is akin to a veterinary snip and spay clinic. Get you in and out. I had an issue with transportation after complex eye surgery. I could not see out of the eye that was not operated on (very low , blurry vision in the non-treated eye) and I told that several times to whoever was supposed to be showing me what to do, about prescriptions,care,etc. as this person was shoving me out the door while I was virtually blind, only able to see shadows, and blur. My caregiver for the recovery is a doctor themselves, and after waiting for an extended time (an hour and a half) to be called for surgery prep for an 8 am appointment, I told this person go and see their patients and they would be called as surgery began so they could come get me. I think I finally went back at 11 am. I was assured that my ride would be called in plenty of time to be there and hear my discharge instructions. This was not done, so don't trust what you are told at the surgery center. I have no idea and still don't know what my instructions were from the person shoving me out the door. My treatment was insensitive and far from caring. I will not subject myself to such an experience again, it was traumatic. Edit to add: I waited a month to post a review hoping my opinion would not remain as intense. That did not happen. I am deeply disturbed by my treatment and remain so. I was also less than pleased with my two after visits. I do not feel proper supervision protocol is followed regarding those in training at the facility, ie not board certified MDs in training or residents. That in and of itself subjected me to not one but two residents shining bright lights into my eyes without me knowing they were residents, topped off by one of them putting erronous dx into my chart. And then came in the board certified MD who was supposed to be seeing me. He too shined a bright light into my eye, and then supposedly corrected the resident's errors in my chart, but I have no way of knowing whether my charting is correct or what the board certified doc saw in his examination. Two docs I've worked closely with in the past concurred in my opinion regarding non board certified mds just coming in without their supervisory Doc coming in and asking my permission regarding their "examinations." I would have said no because light actually caused immense pain X3,with each additional shining intensifying the pain. Also, please excuse any typos, my vision, while improving, is disappointing at this time. I usually forget it when service at a place has been bad, I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but with this being a medical facility, I feel an obligation to share my experiences. I hope others have had good experiences at this facility, but my experience, frankly, sucked. read more

5 total hours WASTED! Staff was inept. Check in employee doesn't know the paperwork and I finally just signed a piece of paper so I didn't get arrested! Test after test even though I was there for 1 single test that needed done! Lady that did some of the testing knows nothing about the numbing eye drops that wear off in 5 minutes. 7 minutes later and she sticking that damn pressure probe into my eye! 1 hour and 56 minutes from check in to sitting in room waiting for doctor...10 minutes later he has to REDO the test I was actually there to have done. Then to my disbelief he wants to do NOTHING except have me come in in 4 months! This is why insurance companies have problems with covering almost anything anymore! After one hour of waiting for appointment we were told it would be another 2 hrs because they were short on technicians. If that is the case, they should have contacted us earlier and rescheduled. The office didn't appear to be clean and felt like we were in a clinic for social services. We will not be going back!!!!! read more

I have been coming to B & B for years but, always went to the office on DuPont Sq. When I made my appointment for my yearly check I was given a new office address. When I arrived I was surprised to see it was a brand new office and a real state of the art facility. The office staff are all very friendly and helpful. read more

DO NOT GO HERE FOR LASIK. Their laser malfunctioned mid-procedure after getting the slits cut in my eyes. They couldn't reboot the laser so they shoved me in a pitch black room by myself with no update for over an hour (with my eyes cut open). My partner grew concerned at the two hour mark because we had been told it would take 30 minutes start to finish. He asked the staff several times if he could see me but was refused access to me each time. They claimed they got the laser working again so I finished my procedure. The doctor didn't apologize for the traumatic experience, but instead insisted I follow her on Instagram. Fast forward a few months after surgery, I suffered non-stop from intense dry eyes and poor vision. One year later, I'm back in prescription glasses full time and my eyes are drier than ever. Your eyes are in good care here! I had never been here before because I had recently moved into town. I called in on a Sunday about a potentially urgent vision related problem. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Steele met me at the office, then diagnosed and treated my eye. Saved me a trip to the ER. Extremely professional and thorough work. read more

While I have been pleased with Dr. Bennett's care, I want to also praise the staff. As I waited for my appointment, I heard the staff interacting with patients, and was impressed with their bedside manner. Also, the office follows virus control protocols excellently. read more
