Unfair of me to write this review, since I didn't actually get to purchase any donuts from them - though I went in to their fine establishment fully intending to do so.... I needed to pick up five dozen donuts to give to five different customers. I'm not a price shopper, and I tend to support local businesses that have a reputation for quality products. Benny's seemed to fit that bill from all the positive Yelp reviews. There were two employees when I entered the store at about 8:30 on a Wednesday morning. Two customers were seated, enjoying a few donuts and some artisanal coffee beverages. One customer was standing at the espresso machine, which was manned on the other side by a female employee fiddling with the many dials and knobs. To her right was a young gentleman demonstrating the most painstakingly focussed display of donut decorating concentration imaginable. Working from a small tray of what appeared to be a freshly made dozen cake donuts, he took each donut one-by-one and hand dipped, papered, sprinkled, dabbed, fluffed, and preened to perfection. It was an amazing thing to watch. His dedication to craft was punctuated by his furled brow and his tongue poking from the corner of his mouth. Wow! After three minutes, and three completed donuts, he broke his concentration and looked up - giving me a grunt in the brief split-second of eye contact he could spare. I threw some donut making gang signs at him, and said, "Whattup Man-Bun?" Or rather I just imagined myself doing that, as I was slowly bring lulled into some weird dream state where all thoughts of what an actual profitable donut vending establishment is were somehow being scrambled and rearranged in my skull. Things got weird from here on. I remember the fourth minute welcoming the fourth donut. I looked away and to the right, and in some slow motion misunderstanding of time and space, I thought I saw the coffee lady actually talking to a coffee plant - trying to coax the bush into ripening a small handful of beans so she could harvest, dry, roast, grind, and then brew them into another cup of coffee. I looked back and the fifth minute produced the fifth donut.... After six minutes, the donut fascination part of my brain got shivved by OBSERVATION. The OBSERVATION department pointed out that there were no cases full of donuts on display. No pre-mades, no nothing.... MATH came to the party and interjected its opinion that five dozen donuts at one minute per donut would take one hour to produce - and I hadn't even ordered yet. Before the seventh donut could land on its pillow, the Hypo-mobilus portion of my brain (pretty sure that's what it's called) turned me on my heels and marched me out the door, placing me safely behind the wheel of my Sales Camry so we could go secure five dozen donuts el - hopefully before lunchtime. read more

I was in town visiting Oregon State and was told I *needed* to try this place. Benny's was probably one of my favorite parts of the trip, I even was lucky enough to buy one of their cute sweatshirts! The woman who helped us let me try almost all of the icing flavors- it was so hard to decide on just two. I decided to choose the seasonal "Kiwi" and staple "Lavender Lemon with Pepper" while my friend chose "PB&J" and "Lavender Lemon". All of them were so good! One of my two regular donut stops in town. Donuts are moist and have structure (no one likes a soggy donut), icing is always tasty (love their inventive/sassy rotating flavors), and the staff is super nice and helpful. It's a novelty to have your donut frosted in front of you and makes it more enjoyable and special as a treat, especially for kids. Sometimes the icing is a little heavy handed, but doesn't really take away from the presentation. This location is also open late for night cravings, and they recycle wherever possible. Tchotchkes and other cute souvenirs are available though they sell out quickly so get them when you can. You can also order a variety of coffees and teas to balance out your donut snack. 8/18- still good! read more

Online ordering only, can't go inside to get what you would like. You can only order by the dozen, so nice if you are buying for the office, but not for a small family, as they're going to be stale by the next day. They need more options than just standard cake doughnuts with toppings. Fritters, Maple bars, old fashioned, etc are needed. read more

Cute donut shop off of 3rd in the downtown area of Corvallis. Only street parking is available but we didn't have any issues finding a spot. They have some premade gluten-free and vegan donuts available. There were 4 different flavors when I came by. I bought 3 maple and sea salt and 3 cold coffee donuts. They're smaller cake donuts, which is a perfect serving for me. Don't get me wrong, they also have regular donuts plus espressos, coffee, etc. Oh my! One bite and I was in heaven! This is one of the best cake donuts I've had! It's light and moist yet not too overly sweet. It isn't drenched in icing like most other donuts. It has the perfect amount to my liking. I don't usually eat processed sugar so I savored every bite and didn't feel the least bit guilty about it. You would have never known it was gluten-free and vegan. Not only are their donuts delicious they have friendly and helpful staff. I highly recommend this donut shop. This will be a go to place for me whenever I'm in the area. read more

I LOVE Benny's Donuts! I have been ordering Benny's since they started up and were only offering delivery. I'm so happy they were able to grow big enough to become an actual donut shop in downtown Corvallis! The taste of the actual donut dough is delicious and they always have amazing complimentary glazes. I especially enjoy the seasonal and holiday flavors they come up with. There are a lot of good doughnut shops around, but this is my favorite -- with a caveat. You need to eat them immediately after they're made or within an hour or two. I think they lose a bit of their special freshness if you wait too long to enjoy. Chocolate with peanut butter and German chocolate are my personal favorites, but the family likes a lot of others, including chocolate with sea salt and marionberry when they have it. They always have a some interesting combo/tasting specials each month. Warm donuts, fresh taste. Doesn't feel like you're eating a bunch of preservatives like all the chains and many others. Well it was great for my husband and I! We got two of each of all the gluten free/vegan ones. I asked if they happen to be "soy free" for my son who's 2. I was told they were all soy free besides the chocolate. I gave him one for his second birthday morning breakfast treat and he got sick within a couple hours. Not sure if it was cross contaminated or what. If the oil had it from frying or if baked maybe the non stick spray had soy (common problem) Anyways I'm come back but won't be giving my son any. read more

Loved that the donuts were fresh out of the fryer! I also liked how you can choose whatever flavor of topping you want. The donut itself is good without any toppings. A little pricy for a single donut at $1.99 for what is considered a small cake sized donut anywhere else. That being said the line was all the way to the door and my donuts were very tasty.
