This is my go to late night meal because they close at 1am!!! Love that they use containers that hold well and allow the food to arrive steaming hot. I always get the slow roasted pork shoulder, slow roasted chicken, clean veggies, chickpeas with potatoes and their must have dessert chocolate cashew pudding. The meats are so well seasoned and roasted in their own juices so very savory!! I always order extra and make tacos the next day because the portion feeds two imo. I don't know what spices and seasoning they use for the chickpeas with potatoes because it's so fragrant and flavorful. I love this recipe!!! As for the veggies they're chopped into small cubes just like the potatoes. I appreciate that they're not overly steamed. They go well with the variety of sauces they offer. As for the sweet chocolate cashew pudding it's so whipped and creamy. It subtly sweet and a perfect ending to a flavor packed meal. Highly recommend Ben's Fast Food for your gluten free and healthy cravings!!!

What a refreshing meal! I'm so glad I found Ben's Fast Food on Door Dash. The food was incredibly healthy, fresh, and satiating. I got the chicken mixed bowl, and it had the best components. There's a rice mix at the bottom, a salad greens mix, pickled onions, steamed veggies, moist and delicious chicken, and a sauce of your choosing. I chose the smoked chipotle - really tasty. I'd much rather order from here than Chipotle or any similar style chain. Once I mixed everything together, I devoured my food. It was SOOOO good! Ben's Fast Food is an excellent lunch option. We will be ordering from here in the future! Can't wait to try other proteins and sauces!

I was super impressed with this! I ordered door dash to my hotel and it arrived warm. The pulled chicken and pork were both flavorful and juicy. The warm Mixed salad also had good flavor and crunch. I didn't even really need the dressing! Would def get again for a quick healthy option.

Ordered through Uber eats. Tried the Chicken Hearty Bowl for lunch and it's a solid choice for anyone looking for a healthy, guilt-free meal. The chicken itself was alright - cooked well but could use a bit more flavor. However, the sauces really saved the day! They added a delicious component to the dish and complemented the chicken nicely. What impressed me most were the fresh, healthy ingredients. You can tell they use quality produce, which made the meal feel especially nourishing. It's a fantastic option for a quick and healthy lunch.

My receipt ordered 3 items a smoothie, bowl of pork, bowl of chicken- they charge me $165. It should've been under $20

I ordered the Mixed chicken bowl with spicy chipotle through DoorDash. This is the perfect healthy lunch spot when you're in the middle of a busy workday. It was delicious, filling, and a hearty meal for only $10! The food delivered quickly and I appreciate this place's mission on serving a balanced meal at an affordable price! Will definitely think of Ben's again when I'm in a pinch!

I'm thrilled I found this place because healthy affordable options in the neighborhood are hard to find. I ordered the chickpea and potatoes and was pleasantly surprised to find them well seasoned and cooked. The sauce was just ok but I added some sriracha and ate the whole thing lol. Will def recommend to my coworkers.

Ikno picture doesnt look so appealing but the flavor on the pork shoulder is there! I came across this restaurant by typing fast food and was being lazy n cheap on doordash. I'm not from around the area and was starving so this is how it went.. The pictures didn't look like fast food and the prices looked even better. I was skeptical but decided to go along with the other great reviews I read and give it a go. Let's say yummy AND Guilt Freee!. I also ordered waygu grain Simple bowl. Very good aswell a little peppery but good. I choose the rosemary balsamic sauce and lemon thyme. Lemon thyme was my favorite. I never had waygu roast but I'm glad I ordered here waaay better than your average fast food. And it got here fast too. All in all a great meal for me today will be ordering again.

I'm not the type of person that enjoys salad, so I was in search for something healthy and I came across bens fast food! I liked the fact that there was proteins/grains/veggies incorporated into one meal. I got a sweet two for one deal when I orders ben's fast food. So that was awesome! I ordered the chicken hearty bowl and added some chick pea and potatoes. My meal was jam packed with so much flavor and it wasn't heavy at all. The only thing I wish is that they added more chicken to the meal. I added a green smoothie and oh man, I love that they added coconut milk and a hint of lime juice. It was so refreshing! Other than that, I'm looking forward to trying their other bowls on the menu soon!

Dinner was $70 per person and consisted entirely of shared plates. It turned out to be plenty of food. We started with the roasted shishito peppers and the crispy pork belly. That pork belly was the best dish of the night - absolutely delicious. Next came the chickpea fritters, which were also really good. The roasted beet salad was up next. I hate beets. But I still liked this. I wouldn't order it again because, yeah, I really don't like beets. But if you like them even a little, you should get this. I actually ate several bites of this, and it was nice. The Sichuan Chili Bass presented a similar situation as I don't really like fish - but again, I ate this and it was quite tasty. Dessert was a "s'mores" situation - a messy, glorious bowl of chocolate, meringue, graham cracker crunch and strawberries. Service was awesome - perfectly pacing the meal. My friend had a couple of cocktails which were gorgeous. And the room is lovely and light. I don't love the neighborhood and parking can be tough. I definitely would come early unless you're taking a taxi. Genuinely surprised how much I liked this meal. Everything was very well done and clearly made with care without seeming fussy or too precious. Highly recommend and would definitely come back. This is a place to take your out-of-town friends to.

We made a reservation through OpenTable and arrived about 5 minutes early. They were able to seat us pretty quickly, so the whole check-in process was easy. The restaurant itself is beautiful and spacious, with tall ceilings and plenty of plants. At night, the lighting is moodier and gives the whole space a warm, buzzy atmosphere. Unfortunately, the restaurant itself was also literally warm lol. It wasn't unbearably hot, but definitely warmer than comfortable, especially while eating something like curry. Granted, it was 95°F+ outside that day, so maybe the AC was just fighting for its life. We ordered: * Goat liver mousse * Wood-fired broccoli * Pickled pepper blueberry cornbread * Lamb curry Surprisingly, I think the wood-fired broccoli was my favorite dish of the night. It had a really nice char with a slight tanginess that kept me going back for more. The cornbread and goat liver mousse were both just okay for me. I wanted the cornbread to be richer and more buttery, and the blueberry didn't come through nearly as much as I expected. The goat liver mousse was fine, but weirdly I almost wanted it to taste more like goat? For something centered around goat liver, the flavor felt pretty tame. The lamb curry had a nice curry flavor, but it was missing the depth and complexity I've had in really good curries. There also wasn't much actual lamb in the dish, which made it even harder for it to stand out. Overall, nothing we had was particularly bad, but aside from the broccoli, nothing made me think, "I need to eat this again." The space and interior honestly left a stronger impression on me than the food. Maybe we just didn't order the right dishes, because this place is clearly popular; but with so many other restaurants in the Arts District, I don't see myself choosing Girl & the Goat over them for a return visit.

The kind of spot where you walk in and immediately think, Yep... this is where you bring someone you're trying to impress. Service was on point the entire night, for my experience, maybe cause they know I was was going to tip very heavily. Ha ha ha. Which ai did by the way! Staff was attentive without hovering, knowledgeable without being pretentious. The team here knows the menu inside and out, and they guide you like they're curating an experience rather than just taking an order. Drinks topped off, plates cleared smoothly, pacing perfect. High‑end feel without the high‑end attitude. Let's talk about the food. Filipino Fusion Done With Swagger Ribeye Salpicao, This dish is straight-up dangerous. Tender ribeye cubes seared with garlicky, buttery goodness, the kind of salpicao that makes you rethink every bite you have. Rich, savory, and addicting. If you don't guard your plate, someone at the table will steal a piece. "Because I know I would!" Rockfish Pritong, it was crispy on the outside, flaky on the inside, and seasoned like someone's Filipino auntie whispered the secrets of life into the batter. Bright, punchy flavors with that perfect crunch. Definitely a sleeper hit. Crispy Duck Pancit, This one is wild, pancit with a crispy duck twist that somehow feels both comforting and elevated. The noodles soak up all that savory duck richness, and the crispy skin on top. Wow, a moment of silence for how good that bite is. Papaya Salad, so fresh, bright, and refreshing. A perfect palate reset between the heavier dishes. Crunchy, citrusy, and balanced, the kind of salad that actually earns its spot on the table. Grilled Eggplant Salad, smoky, silky eggplant with a char that tastes like it came straight off a backyard grill in Manila. Light but flavorful, and a great contrast to the richer plates. Pasta Palabok, a true Filipino classic reimagined. Creamy, savory palabok sauce wrapped around pasta instead of noodles, bold move, but it works. The textures are luxurious, and the flavors stay true to the original. Tare Tare Tamale, definitely one of the most creative dishes of the night. A fusion tamale with tare flavors that hit sweet, salty, and umami all at once. Soft masa, rich filling, and a flavor combo that makes you pause mid‑bite. "Mmmm hmmm!" Hamachi, so clean, fresh, and beautifully plated. The kind of hamachi that melts instantly and makes you feel fancy even if you're wearing sneakers. Of course I had my dress shoes on. It has bright citrus notes and just the right amount of heat. Sampa nails the high‑end, artsy vibe without feeling stiff. Trendy lighting, modern décor, and a soundtrack that keeps the energy fun. Perfect for date night, anniversaries, or when you want to look like you know the cool spots in LA. Sampa is Filipino fusion with confidence, bold flavors, gorgeous plating, and an atmosphere that elevates the whole night. If you're trying to impress your significant other, celebrate something special, or just treat yourself to a killer meal in the Arts District, this place delivers. "Always remember the energy you give ...is the energy you receive. One bite at a time! " Miguel C.

Finally was able to secure a reservation!…read more We arrived a little early to our reservation so we made our way to wine bar while we waiting for our reservation. The wine bar is a cute little spot if you would like to catch up with a friend or a first date. The wine bar also has a small menu and a little different from the restaurant. We ordered basically everything we could in the menu. We had the waygu tartare which I highly recommend if you like citrus. We devoured it because the sauce + citrus was the perfect combination. Do note that I seen a few of their menus and this plate is not available so get it when it it. The cornbread! Everyone raved about the cornbread so we decided to get it. Do not leave this place without trying it. We had the Carolina gold rice and their beef ribeye. For next time, I will probably ask them to bring it separately because both plates are heavy and delicious. The rib eye.... As a person who does not usually eat steak and on the rare side, this place made me change my mind. The chef that is in charge of the beef has been doing it since the place opened so he is definitely an expert. It's on the expensive side but I don't think you will regret it. Overall would love to come here again. Customer service is also really great and willing to answer all your questions in regards to the menu and wine. Additionally we sat in front of the fireplace which is a little hot but it was nice to see how efficient this restaurant works.

We came a few minutes before the 5:30pm reservation. There was a line but was seated immediately after they opened. The server was happy to explain the whole menu and make recommendations appropriate for the crowd. Also appreciated her honesty when asked of her opinions as those were helpful. The meal started off with the bluefin tune and albacore, which was my personal favorite of the whole menu. I'd highly recommend getting these. The cherokee tomato did have anchovies as a warning. The cornbread was very peppery, which was a surprise, but it was still enjoyed. The pork chili stew we felt a bit underwhelmed but the tortillas that came with them are soft and really good! The steak was nothing too different from standard good quality steak. Another favorite was the sticky date toffee pudding, which I think is a must get as well. I like how the dining area felt open and elevated, appropriate to celebrate a special occasion. Service was so fast in refilling our waters too. Although we overall enjoyed it, we probably would not go back as we felt we were satisfied to just try them all once. Also the pricing for some dishes are not too justifiable. However, I'd recommend still going to Dunsmoor, it is an experience. They have valet parking but we were able to find street parking on a sunday night.

This is a long-overdue post. République has been on my must-visit list of LA dining experiences for…read morequite some time. I just never realized where it was since I don't usually make it out to Hancock Park. Then one day, while I happened to be in the area, I stumbled upon it and had one of those "Wait...this is here?!" moments. You ever have one of those places you've wanted to visit forever, only to realize it was much closer than you thought? My first visit was actually for dessert after having a less-than-memorable lunch at Mish down the street. Unfortunately, I arrived later in the day and most of the pastry case had already been wiped out, leaving only a limited selection. The staff recommended the Dulce de Leche Cremadette ($6.75), and I'm glad they did. It was perfectly flaky, buttery, and sweet, with the dulce de leche tucked inside the pastry. The caramel reminded me of the caramel coating on a caramel apple. I also picked up some brownies at the staff's recommendation, and those were fantastic -- incredibly moist, rich, and delicious. Definitely a must-get. I was a little disappointed that I missed out on the majority of the pastry selection, but I was told that the pastries are made in limited batches each day and once they sell out, that's it. So if you're coming specifically for the pastries, get here early. Earlier this summer, I made the acquaintance of an OG Yelper, Joseph A., and we've been corresponding back and forth on Yelp. I happened to know that he's a regular at République, so I asked if he'd be interested in meeting me right when they opened. I figured if anyone knew what to order, it would be him. Joseph was incredibly kind and gracious enough to treat me to breakfast. I ordered his usual breakfast recommendation: the Regular Breakfast ($24), which comes with bacon steak, fingerling potatoes, a demi baguette, French butter, jam, and an egg prepared any style. Joseph went with the soft scramble, and I followed his lead. That was definitely the move. They really know how to cook eggs here. The soft scramble was absolutely divine -- creamy, delicate, and perfectly cooked. The bacon steak was a little on the salty side, but still very good. The demi baguette was excellent, especially with the French butter and jam. Honestly, I could have eaten several pieces of that baguette with the butter and jam alone. The fingerling potatoes were nicely seasoned and quite good on their own, but a few dashes of hot sauce really took them up another notch. I'll be honest: $24 is definitely on the pricey side for what you're getting, especially when you break down the individual components. That said, when you factor in the quality of the food, the setting, and the overall experience, I can understand why people are willing to pay it. We also shared several pastries, and every single one was excellent in its own right. I'm officially hooked on the pastries here. They just don't miss. Service was pretty good during my visit. One thing worth noting is that République adds a 4% surcharge to the bill to help cover healthcare for their staff. It's certainly something to be aware of when looking at the final bill. f you're looking for a quintessential LA brunch experience to take out-of-towners to, République is a great option. Just be prepared for potentially long lines, especially on weekends. I visited on a weekday morning over the summer, so I didn't personally experience the weekend crowds. My only real wait was at the pastry counter during my first visit. I've heard you can expect people lining up before they even open at 8AM, so plan accordingly. The cult following surrounding Walter and Margarita Manzke's restaurant/café is understandable. Between the food, pastries, atmosphere, and history of the building, there's a lot to appreciate here. And speaking of history, the building itself is pretty special. The property was built in 1928 by Charlie Chaplin. It became a restaurant in 1989 when chefs Mark Peel and Nancy Silverton transformed the space to open La Brea Bakery and Campanile. After Campanile closed in 2012, the building was renovated and modified to open up the space while returning it closer to the spirit of its original construction. République opened in 2013 and has been going strong ever since. Do yourself a favor and eat at République. Come for the food and pastries, but also take some time to appreciate the ambiance and the history of this incredible LA property. And whatever you do, get here early if you want the pastries. Once they're gone, they're gone! Don't walk--run to République.
