In-N-Out is always a classic, but the Hollywood location is hands down my favorite. I have been to plenty of In-N-Out spots and for some reason this one just tastes better every single time, even though technically it is the same menu. The burgers here are always so fresh, hot, and satisfying. One thing people should know is that there are off-menu customizations, and that is the best way to order if you already know what you like. I never do the regular double because it is just not enough for me. I usually order two 3x3 burgers. One I get with no onion, and the second I do even simpler with no onion, no lettuce, and no tomato, so it is basically just the bun, cheese, and three patties. I always ask for extra spread too because that is a must. Usually I get two spreads per burger and one extra for the fries, so my full meal comes with five spreads and I use every single one. What also makes this location stand out is how well they handle the crowds. It is always busy, but they have so many employees working that the line keeps moving fast and the whole place stays organized. Even when it looks packed, service is efficient and seating usually works out fine if you just pay attention and grab a table as people leave. For such a high-volume location, they do a really good job keeping things moving. Love In-N-Out, always will, and this Hollywood location is the one I keep coming back to. Easy 5 stars. read more

The animal style fries was another highlight, and if you fancied it less soggy, request for well done. It's pretty much freshly-cut fries served with signature I&O sauce and chopped grilled onions. I like my fries cooked light but oftentimes depending on the location they come out too light, almost raw. This location appears to be one of the smaller locations I've been to. There are a few tables inside, as well as some outdoor seating. Parking can be tricky as this location sits on a busy road and the parking lot is small. There were three people with me, so 4 of us in total. I ordered a double, w/fries and a drink. As soon as I landed in LA and checked in my hotel, raced over to In-N-Out to cure my burger fix during Friday around 1pm local time. It was chaotic order in the restaurant. I ordered the Double Double Animal Style with a Cherry Coke and fries - putting the dining plan on hold for the vacay weekend. Delish. Their ingredients are so fresh. I wish you were in the Carolinas!! As a side note, once I got my food I walked around for 10 minutes, given every table was full and half of them occupied by people who were waiting for food (wait times were app 20 mins). Thankfully, an older couple from Delaware noticed me who were also holding a table and said, " young man, you take our table, you have your food." Of course 5 stars, In-N-Out is the best. This location is very busy and probably mostly tourists visiting the Hollywood area. Parking lot is always packed, inside is packed, outside is packed. These sound like they could be negatives, but it is a vibe, just enjoy some great food and take it all in. After all we have some of the best weather here in So Cal. No matter what you get, you can't go wrong with the taste, quality and consistency of the burgers, fries and drinks. Being from Michigan, I had to experience my very first In-N-Out trip- and at the Hollywood location visited by many after the Oscars mind you. It was super busy and chaotic inside but the service has the process down pat, so food came out quick. I don't eat meat but you can order the burger as a grilled cheese and it is surprisingly yummy and filling- all the fixings. Got the animal style fries which weren't my favorite- didn't care for the hardened cheese. Veggies were very fresh and onions cooked to perfection. The fries, sans animal style dressing, were okay. But with all that animal style stuff, veryyyyyyyy niiiiiiiiice!! I've eaten cheese fries and fries with both bacon and cheese, but fries with onions, spread and cheese, that was a first for me. Absolute YUM! I want to preface this by saying i'm an LA native and have been going to in n out my entire life. This in n out is hands down the worst as far as food quality.. the bread is always either soggy or burnt or both (not sure how they manage that). But of course this is the nearest one to me and I have to go here every once in a while. But what is far worse than the food here is the female staff specifically at the final window where they hand you your food. I am not sure if they are unhappy that they have this job or what but there is always some side talk at the window speaking negatively about me. I really just want to get my food and leave so I don't even know how they have the time and imagination to come up with negative things to say about me while I wait. But if you must be disrespectful at your job at least have the common sense to keep it to yourself or speak so that the person you are trash talking cannot hear you. I also understand that I may sound as though i'm targetting women here but I want to say that the male staff here is always courteous and respectful (if they have anything negative to say about me they at least have the sense to keep it quiet) so I can't help but notice the contrast. Additionally I am a man myself so I would expect if poor service was a trend across the board here that it would be coming more so from male staff to me. But the issues are frequent and numerous here. One time I was leaving church with my family and decided to stop here on the way back and an incredibly nasty girl took our order outside. She initially had me repeat myself to the point where it was evident she was playing a game and not actually struggling getting my order, and I asked her what is the problem?... She understood that loud and clear so I knew she wasn't hard of hearing. I eventually just stopped talking to her and stared at her... and she got on her mic and said "This guy won't give me his order and it's really annoying me". A few seconds later some young guy came rushing out with a look on his face as if he had planned to chastise me but by that time my mother had intervened and thankfully she dropped her nastiness as she recited the same order that had been given to her 3 times already. The staffer waved the guy off and said its ok now. For context I was with my parents this day and my mother was in her 70s at the time so it was just unfathomable that anyone could act this way as they take your order.. I had to just bear and grin this poor behavior from the staff because i didn't want my parents seeing me lose composure at an in n out but I would have loved to formally complain about this girl. And this sort of behavior is not isolated.. It's absolutely abbyssmal the language i've heard from the staff while receiving food I just paid for. One girl actually had the nerve to say "are you stupid?" (again under her breath which was still very audible) because I was making sure she put all the food in the bag.. Ironically she didn't put ketchup in the bag although she is the one who asked and I had to park and go back inside for this. While i was in there I mentioned her behavior to the manager and the girl simply glared at me (then began walking by me repeatedly very closely) the whole time while i spoke to her manager which was incredibly awkward and makes me wonder if they allow them to simply do as they please here. I was given a free milkshake for this inconvenience but honestly if you just train these people to have respect to the very people that keep this place in business that would be far better. Furthermore i have abandoned the idea of receiving a proper hi, bye or thank you for stopping in from these people long ago so at this point my only request is just don't be rude. I understand in n out is at no risk of losing business as they are a california staple but why be afronting to customers who did nothing to deserve it? I could understand if I was rude in some way but I don't really even say much when i come here just common courtesy which seems to be vacant at the last window. And honestly the contrast between the first window and the last window is like night and day... maybe put the guys at the last window so that I don't feel like i've been robbed being treated so poorly after i've paid my money. I also likely wouldn't pay and would simply leave if I got the similar treatment at the pay window.... maybe this is by design. At any rate it's a very odd in n out... the food isn't great but i guess it will do... the service from the rude females primarily at the last window needs to be corrected otherwise i'll drive to studio city just to avoid coming here as I cannot justify spending my money at a place where i'm not treated with respect. And maybe you can ask this question of your staff if you ever try to correct this poor conduct. "Would you do business with yourself?" Much of this should have been taught in early childhood and I hope courtesy isn't being phased out. read more

We were staying at the Roosevelt Hotel nearby. On the way in we spotted an In-N-Out at the bottom of the hill, just a short walk away. We were weary from San Diego to L.A. traffic. Our friends, already at the hotel, were hungry also, so I was voted in as the one to walk to the In-N-Out to get four Double Doubles Animal Style and four orders of fries. On the way down the hill, I spotted a security guard outside of an apartment complex and thought to myself that he might enjoy a Double Double also. As I made my way back up the hill, I stopped and asked the guard if he wanted a fresh burger and fries from In-N-Out. Holy shit! You should've seen this guy's face! My coworker (I wasn't there, I was at our workplace, and he doesn't have a yelp account, but since we went Dutch/were gonna split the cost/I gave him the money to go to the in n out to get us food. We paid in cash. I feel it's okay for me to post this review on his behalf), went to this in n out today around noon/lunch time, to get us food for our lunch break. He ordered us both a double double, and an order of fries. He was texting me what happened at first (We work down the corner at the buzzfeed building) saying he lost the order receipt, and didn't remember what the order number was. I told him just go up to the counter and say what the order was, and it's fine. He spoke with the manager and from what he told me she was extremely rude/extra/fake, basically accusing him of lying (in the time she was asking for a receipt he clearly said he didn't have anymore/someone stole, they could have just remade the two burgers and fries) and she handed him an empty in n out bag, and said call the customer service number. He got back to our office, and he is Autistic so it's hard for him to relay and explain things, but he told me everything that happened, as prior we were just communicating through texts. So we're supposed to starve, not get our food, and possibly wait several weeks to maybe get compensated by In N Out by them giving us gift certificates or whatever. That's not the point. REMAKE THE FOOD. This is like twilight zone level stuff, and my coworker he's a Black gay man, I'm a Black Bisexual woman, and I always felt some type of racial bias to this location. White people, Latinos and East and West Asians that come in get treated well, but Blacks get the shaft, and my coworker told me the security guard (who was a Black man as well go figure, trying to score points) was yelling at a Black woman for taking pictures of the employees at the counter, which people do all the time, how do you think the photos on this review page got there in the first place? The lettuce is crisp, the tomato does not feel sad or soggy, and the bun is soft without falling apart. The fries get a lot of debate, but fresh is fresh. You can taste that they came from real potatoes and not a freezer somewhere far away. The place itself is always clean. Floors, tables, counters, everything. Even when it is packed, it never feels gross or chaotic. The staff is moving fast but still friendly, which is honestly impressive considering how busy it gets. You can tell there is a system and everyone sticks to it. Parking is another underrated win. Most locations actually have enough parking, which feels like a small miracle these days. You are not circling the block questioning your life choices just to get a burger. You park, you eat, you leave happy. Overall, In N Out is one of those rare places that lives up to the hype without pretending to be anything it is not. I've been here many times but on my last visit, the person taking the order was particulaly friendly and awesome. In general, staff is always more friendly here than at other fast food places. Also, they really are very careful with orders - I've never had an incorrect order. A true feat for a fast food spot. Came here on a Wednesday night after visiting Griffith Observatory. It was crowded but we managed to get a seat. This is my 3rd time having In-N-Out. My first time was in San Diego and second time was in Las Vegas. Since I'm from the East Coast, I always thought In-N-Out was overhyped but for some reason, this time tasted really good.
