Easy to order kiosk, safe receipt if you need restroom because code is in the bottom. Order came out pretty quickly. My first time having shake shack here in LA. My first time was in New York. It was good had a good flavor. I loved the onion rings good light texture with good flavor. The passion fruit boba I didn't get the passion fruit flavor but was a good treat. They have games outside to chill a giant connect four and jenga. Good chill vibe.

Really solid spot across from the Pantages for a quick bite to eat before the show. Cashier was super friendly and helpful and food was made fresh to order with delivery to your table. Had the shake shack burger with onions and pickles and the fries with cheese and bacon as well as the canned rose. Loved the burger, fries were great but rich and the rose was a pleasant surprise! MUCH better experience this time around. s/o to Shake Shacks customer service squad for reaching out and allowing a total re-do of our meal for the evening! it was everything i expected out of my shroom burger and more! i also ordered their new limited edition banana pudding shake. OMGGGG - one of the best banana shakes I've had! made with frozen custard, real banana and vanilla wafer cookie pieces. the absolute perfect combination. i vote they permanently keep this one on the menu! Does Shake shack have any business being this good? Last time I had Shake shack, I was in the Denver airport. This location was slammed with orders and I could tell they weren't making burgers and fries fresh. This was my last experience at a Shake shack. This experience though? Completely different! My boyfriend and I visited because he wanted to see for himself if Shake shack is the best fast food burger. Which, according to many people, including his friends, Shake shack is the best fast food burger. We ordered the most basic burger they have which was the big shack and a side of fries and a Coke. The total came out to $20 which wasn't too unreasonable for a meal in LA but a little more than we pay for a burger since we go to In-N-Out often. However, service was fast, and when the burger got to us, it was incredibly flavorful and delicious! And yes, the burger is arguably the best fast food burger there is. The Smashburger was charred and well seasoned and the veggies were classic and fresh! The crew cut fries were hot and crispy, and with a side of ranch, was a perfect flavor combo. I had no idea shake shack could be this good and I understand the hype now. But wow, it really did take me by surprise!!!

Two double cheese burgers, curly fries, chicken shack meal

Came here today with friends on a Sunday afternoon lunch after church! Customer service was a 10/10. I had just downloaded and created an account with Shake Shack that came with a 20% discount on any purchase, however it did not provide a code so I could not apply it in kiosk or by ordering in the app. So I lined up and brought this issue up with the cashier. He immediately apologized for this issue and get the manager to help. They ended up giving us 20% off no questions asked! I really appreciate them being so accommodating and respectful. Food was decent (7.4/10), definitely above average. I think you can taste the higher quality of ingredients especially in the buns and how the pattys are cooked (very juicy!) . My only complaint is the chicken sandwich I found a bit dry and lacked sauce. If you're like me and prefer eating chicken sandwiches that have some flavor like with chick fil a sauce or well marinated/juicy on inside their chicken sandwiches probably won't meet your expectations. Curly fries were great too, came crispy and warm, I def prefer their fries over in and out. Would I pick their burgers over in and out? Probably not...the price + quality at in and out is definitely more superior. Ambiance/environment (7/10) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Taking into account that it's Sunday afternoon and that this place is located in Hollywood, it can feel a bit crowded and inconvenient, but it's clean inside and lots of seats, great lighting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Just expect it difficult to find parking around this area without having to pay. Thankfully we came on Sunday so parking is free for parking meter spots. Overall if you're in the area and craving burgers to eat with friends, this is a good place to go without having to break the bank that much. I do recommend downloading the app for any deals. ( I was able to get the Chicken Shack meal only for $10 this weekend!)

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside the restaurant is pretty spacious you can eat outside or inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There's a touch screen kiosk if you want to order your food there or the main counter. Shake Shack delivers on flavor, especially with their Truffle Burger and classic Cheeseburger, but it does come with a hefty price tag. The service was great and the staff are friendly. The Truffle Burger is a standout--rich, savory, and perfectly indulgent with the truffle sauce adding a luxurious touch to every bite. The classic Cheeseburger is everything you'd hope for: juicy, flavorful, and topped with fresh ingredients that elevate a simple burger to something truly satisfying. Their crinkle-cut fries are crispy and golden, the perfect complement to the burgers. And let's not forget the drinks--their hand-spun shakes and refreshing lemonades round out the meal beautifully. That said, the portions are on the smaller side, especially considering the price. While the taste is undeniably great, it's hard not to feel like you're paying a premium for what you get. Still, the quality and flavor keep me coming back, making Shake Shack a treat worth indulging in every now and then.

An evening out included our first stop to the shake shack and it did not disappoint. The burgers were well seasoned and juicy, the fries hot and crunchy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a buzzing place so it's noisy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff is friendly and efficient. It's worth a return visit!

What the truffle burger looked like on the menu
    Alan B.

Came here to break bread after church and was very excited to try this place out. It's been on my to try list but just never did and am glad I did finally get to try it but just a bit sad that we picked this location as parking was hard to find (the lot is on Argyle Ave) and they only validate for 30min. I think it took us about 10+ min from finding parking in the garage to walking to shake shack and then I believe it's $3 every 15 min. Well let's just say I ended up paying $15 after the validation. On to the food: we ordered from the 3 kiosks available on the side so it was quick and easy and the food came out relatively fast. We ordered the new truffle burger single and double patties, bacon cheese fries, a large lemonade and peach and cream shake came out to about $50 0~0. The burger was a huge disappointment as it looked nothing like the picture in the menu. My wife questioned whether it's the right burger but we were assured that it was. Other then the aesthetic, the taste was ok nothing to rave about. The bacon cheese fries was a bit on the hard side. Some pieces felt over cooked. For $6.99 I expected more. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the lemonade and we were pleasantly surprised that there were refills! That was literally the highlight of our visit there. The peach and cream shake's flavor was off. I don't know how to describe it but just don't get it. Overall: this will be our first and last time visiting shake shack. There's just nothing to love about this place and def avoid this location or atleast the parking aspect of it. $50 + $15 parking - I could of had steak dinner at a nice restaurant. *smh +1 star because the service was incredible awesome! Everyone was extremely friendly. But why anyone would want to pay $12/$15 for burgers that looked like it's been stepped on is beyond me.

    Felicia K.

Food always tastes good. It's a bit far from me so I'm not here often but I enjoy their taste and get it when I can! The service is well too even though we order through a kiosk. They're attentive! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This location is in Hollywood by the walk of fame so there's a lot of people coming in and out. It's very lively on weekends especially![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Stopped at Shake Shack before heading over to the Pantages to watch Wicked. It was a busy night and most tables were being occupied.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We used the self service machine to order. There was a worker taking orders and calling people in line for self service just to help move the line. The food came out with good time especially for how busy they were. The food was good and made exactly how we ordered.

6 onion rings for nearly $5. NO!!! Do better Shake Shack!
    Jacob N.

This is such an unfriendly and extremely overly priced burger spot. I have been to several locations and this one is absolutely terrible. I paid $52.98 for 2 burgers, one French fries, onion rings and 2 small drinks. I figured it's just inflation. How on earth do they figure out the portions per dollar amount? I was absolutely floored when I saw 6 onion rings for nearly $5. I will never return, not because of the price but, based on the lack of person to person interaction and the terrible portion size.

This is by far the worst shake shack I have ever been to. I don't like any of them, but sometimes I am with someone who wants a burger from there, but this one no one wants. I have been there before, knew it was a mistake, but I did not think it would mostly go in the trash. This is a place where you order at the counter. They have eat in, take away and delivery. The inside is sort of cute. It is not kept clean at all. Every time I have been stuck here I have had to clean and bus my own table. There are a lot of employees so what they all are doing is beyond me. The person that took my order was nice. I told him I wanted my burger rare. Some of them have done that, some not. So, I asked to make sure and he said it was not a problem. We also ordered drinks and fries. My burger and not only well done, it was burnt. I had to get up and take it back. I handed it to the most obnoxious employee I have come across in some time. As I was telling her the problem, she was tossing it behind her back into the trash (basketball practice maybe). She then said we only make them well done. I told her she just tossed it and now I have to wait for another one, can you at least no burn it. She was so so rude. When it came back it was burnt to a crisp. In the trash it went. My grandson was to have a burger without cheese, as they only have awful American cheese, it came with cheese. He walked his back and another punt into the trash by this horrible woman. It came back with a new bun, with cheese still on the burnt burger. Back again, and this time they remade it and it was so gross, I tossed that in the trash. We ordered lemonade that tasted like water. Their fries are frozen and taste just like something from the frozen section in the discount aisle of a market. We got up and left. Never again. Dirty, bad service and gross food.

Parking: Street parking was super easy on a Sunday afternoon, I was able to pull up right in front and park on the street. There is a Super A across the street and ample parking around for free. Ambiance & Food: This reminds me of an old school burger stand. Those were the best burgers and this one did not stop that trend. As I walked up, we were warmly greeted and given a quick rundown of what which burger. They did have specials (I will get to that in a second) which we were intrigued, but for the sake of perspective, I ordered the Goldburger and both regular fries and curly fries with a bottle coke. The Goldburger is naturally a double, but my gymrat protein brain added that extra patty. They use a 70% to 30% mixture for their burger which makes the burger oh so decadent. The picture I took doesn't do it justice. The moment you bite into the burger the combination of burger juice, aioli, burnt skirt, all come together in such a harmonious fashion. It was remarkable. Though fries are not one of my strong points, both fries were crispy and I haven't had any other experience with Curly fries other than Jack in the Box, but these were so much better. I went ahead and dipped the fries in some homemade Aioli and dang, what a combo! Back to those specials, the current special is CHILI, I was intrigued so they gave me a small container of it to try. Man, if I wasn't watching my caloric intake, that would have been the move. It was rich and chunky and not to soggy which some always comes. Give it a try as they said it will be around for sometime. Other than burgers, they do have hot dogs as well. So worth trying both next time. To be perfectly honest, this brought back so much nostalgia for me, I used to go to school in the area and this brought a lot of those memories back. Howlin' Ray's is there too... but I don't care. ‍ Yes, they have smash burgers here, but I don't really think of Amboy as a smash burger place. It's the thicker burgers that keep bringing me back. Also, don't plan your entire trip around getting The DH because they don't always have it. This was my second visit and once again it wasn't available, so we ended up getting the Amboy and the Fancy, both Slim Thicc style. The seating situation is the only real downside. On weekends people end up eating all over the plaza--around the trees, on benches, basically wherever they can find a place to sit. Weekdays are definitely the move if you can make it. One thing to know before you get in line: people take their sweet time ordering here, and honestly I get it because everything sounds good. Just bring a little patience. I'm always happy when a burger place asks if I want medium rare, medium, whatever. Next time I'll probably just tell them I want it medium rare. The burgers though? Fantastic. Their hot dog is the platonic ideal of what a hot dog should be. The old bay seasoning on their crispy tots is a stroke of genius. The inside is small, so it's basically an outdoor-only seating or take-it-to-go situation. Thankfully a tall brick wall, umbrella-toting picnic tables, and large sails give ample shade to their large lot. There are a few parking spots in the back if you're lucky, otherwise street parking should be easy to find. When enough people showed up to eat, it felt like a backyard kickback. Music was a perfect volume for conversation and their Regular Show-esque bespoke mural gave us a lot to talk about. You put your order in with friendly staff inside, and they call your name on speakers when it's ready. Ice cold water is freely available as well as some select beers, wines, and juices. It's not fast food, but it's not slow either -- you can't rush something as delicious as what they have to offer here.

They have their own parking lot, but it's quite limited. Looks like part of it was under construction for expansion. Here's what I ordered: TATOR TOTS - $6 Fried crispy, tossed in old bay. Exactly how it's described and they delivered it--so good! SINGLE BURGER - $9 3oz patty with cheese, butter toasted bun, mayo, chopped chilies, onion, pickles, tomato, lettuce. Solid smash burger!!!!! Nuff said. I was sad they ran out of hand pies and that I because it was the end of the day. Need to come earlier for them.

I remember they were selling $10 Don Julio 1942 shots one time because it was Cinco de Mayo week. Great times and memories made at this restaurant. Holiday decor was always great to see especially during Halloween. A true loss. Bring it back please! The staff was friendly and very attentive. The wings and drinks themselves were super flavorful and I thought I would have more time to enjoy and come back to visit while in town. My partner also tried their burger and fries and decided to stop by the restaurant only to find out they closed a couple of months ago. It was worth the visit when we went there back in December.z The place was cute and it felt comfy.

I happened to be in the area, and even though I'd already eaten, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to finally drop in. Irv's originally opened in 1946 as Queen's Burgers, located right on Route 66 on Santa Monica Boulevard in WeHo, and was deeply ingrained in LA's historic car culture. In 1970, Irv Genis bought the stand and renamed it Irv's Burgers, and it quickly became a legendary late-night spot for rock icons like Bob Dylan and Jim Morrison. By 2000, Sonia Hong took over, famously hand-drawing doodles on the paper plates alongside her signature slogan, "Just for you." After closing in 2013 and again in 2018, Lawrence Longo partnered with Sonia in 2021 to bring the brand back to life. They've since expanded quite a bit, even opening locations in Malibu and Las Vegas. On a staff recommendation, I ordered Irv's Original Roadside Burger Double ($11.25). Honestly, it was just okay. While a certain amount of grease and salt is expected with a burger, this one crossed the line into being a bit too salty and oily. On the bright side, the sesame bun was excellent, and I loved that they kept Sonia's legacy alive by printing her classic doodles on the tray placemats. While I'm glad Irv's was saved from history and is expanding, the food itself felt pretty so-so. The outdoor tables were also a bit dirty during my visit. I still love that classic roadside burger stand aesthetic with the outdoor stools, but unfortunately, I won't be in a rush to head back.

To say I'm super bummed is an understatement. I am so thankful that I happen to stop by for lunch and visit this location one last time. The same manager was there on the last day as when I went the first time two years ago. The staff there was always amazing, friendly, and the food was incredible. I think it was the Chinatown location that didn't work for them. However, the good news is that they do have three other locations and if you have never been, I suggest you check Kroft out if you love burgers, especially smashed. The other locations are in Long Beach, Anaheim, and Rancho Cucamonga. I wish them luck and I will definitely be stopping in their other locations if I am ever in the area.
