I experienced a restful stop here this week. Hollywood has a lot of overpriced mediocre food. This Shake Shack had a nice and bright layout with lots of windows and a nice patio. ALL of the workers and the manager were very friendly and helpful, I had a small issue with the App (rare these days but a very common occurrence a few years ago) and the manager eliminated my concern immediately. The shakes are always of great quality and the chicken sandwich is always one of my favorites. I'm not in Hollywood often, but I'll continue to highly recommend this location for its high standards of service and fare. read more

Shake Shack in Hollywood had this for a late-night dinner after watching a Pantages show. They have a kiosk that you place your order on and I got a shrooms burger which is a portobello mushroom that is deep fried and delicious! I'm not a vegetarian but this is a good vegetarian option here. It is one of my favorites to enjoy. But they're known for their smashburgers and they are also delicious. Also, I do like enjoying a strawberry milkshake with it too. They always have new limited menu items which is kind of cool if you get bored easily. read more

Does Shake shack have any business being this good? Last time I had Shake shack, I was in the Denver airport. This location was slammed with orders and I could tell they weren't making burgers and fries fresh. This was my last experience at a Shake shack. This experience though? Completely different! My boyfriend and I visited because he wanted to see for himself if Shake shack is the best fast food burger. Which, according to many people, including his friends, Shake shack is the best fast food burger. We ordered the most basic burger they have which was the big shack and a side of fries and a Coke. The total came out to $20 which wasn't too unreasonable for a meal in LA but a little more than we pay for a burger since we go to In-N-Out often. However, service was fast, and when the burger got to us, it was incredibly flavorful and delicious! And yes, the burger is arguably the best fast food burger there is. The Smashburger was charred and well seasoned and the veggies were classic and fresh! The crew cut fries were hot and crispy, and with a side of ranch, was a perfect flavor combo. I don't know why I've been eating so much Shake Shack, when it's honestly not my favorite burger place at all, but this one has been a consistently decent one with each order I've placed. There is the garage you can access off of Argyle, but if you're lucky, sometimes there are spaces right outside. Food has been ready when I come in to pick it up, and I'm on my way. For some reason-I also have this issue with Tocaya-even if I eat on the premises, I feel the food is never hot enough, it seems I'm lucky if it's lukewarm, and this also goes for the fries. Completely get it if I'm late picking this up, but this seems to happen more often than not, and at all locations I've visited. However for some reason, I still show up. Milkshakes here are prime, and I don't have to worry about them getting cold (or warm) since I finish this off pretty quickly. read more

Came here today with friends on a Sunday afternoon lunch after church! Customer service was a 10/10. I had just downloaded and created an account with Shake Shack that came with a 20% discount on any purchase, however it did not provide a code so I could not apply it in kiosk or by ordering in the app. So I lined up and brought this issue up with the cashier. He immediately apologized for this issue and get the manager to help. They ended up giving us 20% off no questions asked! I really appreciate them being so accommodating and respectful. Food was decent (7.4/10), definitely above average. I think you can taste the higher quality of ingredients especially in the buns and how the pattys are cooked (very juicy!) . My only complaint is the chicken sandwich I found a bit dry and lacked sauce. If you're like me and prefer eating chicken sandwiches that have some flavor like with chick fil a sauce or well marinated/juicy on inside their chicken sandwiches probably won't meet your expectations. Curly fries were great too, came crispy and warm, I def prefer their fries over in and out. Would I pick their burgers over in and out? Probably not...the price + quality at in and out is definitely more superior. Ambiance/environment (7/10) Taking into account that it's Sunday afternoon and that this place is located in Hollywood, it can feel a bit crowded and inconvenient, but it's clean inside and lots of seats, great lighting. Just expect it difficult to find parking around this area without having to pay. Thankfully we came on Sunday so parking is free for parking meter spots. Overall if you're in the area and craving burgers to eat with friends, this is a good place to go without having to break the bank that much. I do recommend downloading the app for any deals. Came here to break bread after church and was very excited to try this place out. It's been on my to try list but just never did and am glad I did finally get to try it but just a bit sad that we picked this location as parking was hard to find (the lot is on Argyle Ave) and they only validate for 30min. I think it took us about 10+ min from finding parking in the garage to walking to shake shack and then I believe it's $3 every 15 min. Well let's just say I ended up paying $15 after the validation. On to the food: we ordered from the 3 kiosks available on the side so it was quick and easy and the food came out relatively fast. We ordered the new truffle burger single and double patties, bacon cheese fries, a large lemonade and peach and cream shake came out to about $50 0~0. The burger was a huge disappointment as it looked nothing like the picture in the menu. My wife questioned whether it's the right burger but we were assured that it was. Other then the aesthetic, the taste was ok nothing to rave about. The bacon cheese fries was a bit on the hard side. Some pieces felt over cooked. For $6.99 I expected more. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the lemonade and we were pleasantly surprised that there were refills! That was literally the highlight of our visit there. The peach and cream shake's flavor was off. I don't know how to describe it but just don't get it. Overall: this will be our first and last time visiting shake shack. There's just nothing to love about this place and def avoid this location or atleast the parking aspect of it. $50 + $15 parking - I could of had steak dinner at a nice restaurant. *smh +1 star because the service was incredible awesome! I'm really unhappy with this place. While they are trying to fix a problem. They are actually making a worse problem for their guest. While I'm not truly a fan of the over priced food at shake shack. The food quality is good but not for $13. We went because it's the closest place to the Pantages theater. My issue is they are paying a security guard what I'm assuming is at least $20. To Handle restroom security. This is not necessary o chose not to get a receipt as it was an option. Guess what you can only get into the restroom with a receipt. Apparently there is a notice on the door I was told. I wasn't reading a notice on the door when I walked in. They need to figure this out I will never be going back here that is for sure. read more

This is by far the worst shake shack I have ever been to. I don't like any of them, but sometimes I am with someone who wants a burger from there, but this one no one wants. I have been there before, knew it was a mistake, but I did not think it would mostly go in the trash. This is a place where you order at the counter. They have eat in, take away and delivery. The inside is sort of cute. It is not kept clean at all. Every time I have been stuck here I have had to clean and bus my own table. There are a lot of employees so what they all are doing is beyond me. The person that took my order was nice. I told him I wanted my burger rare. Some of them have done that, some not. So, I asked to make sure and he said it was not a problem. We also ordered drinks and fries. My burger and not only well done, it was burnt. I had to get up and take it back. I handed it to the most obnoxious employee I have come across in some time. As I was telling her the problem, she was tossing it behind her back into the trash (basketball practice maybe). She then said we only make them well done. I told her she just tossed it and now I have to wait for another one, can you at least no burn it. She was so so rude. When it came back it was burnt to a crisp. In the trash it went. My grandson was to have a burger without cheese, as they only have awful American cheese, it came with cheese. He walked his back and another punt into the trash by this horrible woman. It came back with a new bun, with cheese still on the burnt burger. Back again, and this time they remade it and it was so gross, I tossed that in the trash. We ordered lemonade that tasted like water. i stopped in with my partner after a viewing of wicked at the pantages. it was quite busy but our food still came out super fast. most of the orders are placed at three self serve kiosks at the front, which is great if you're not looking to talk to a clerk. i got a text message when my food was ready and i was able to pick it up at the counter. i had the cheese fries and the chicken sandwich. my partner had the chicken bites and their chocolate holiday shake. the chicken was delicious and of great quality. the breading was light and crunchy and packed a ton of flavor. the cheese fries were fine, i'd probably order the cheese in the side given how fast it cooled down and soggified so quick. otherwise, great spot for a bite to eat! read more

This Shake Shack is just a block up from the Pantages Theater which makes it a great spot for a casual bite before or after a show. They have outdoor seating as well as indoor seating. Burgers are good here it also right next door to a chicken sandwich place so if you have someone in your party who prefers another choice it's convenient. I tried the burger with the mushroom burger on top. It was fun--a fried mushroom patty stuffed with a white cheddar that got all melty. This was a nice place for several of us to eat before the show. Everyone could do their own order and we didn't have to wait for everyone to arrive at the same time. Also I have a fiend who loves custard, and Shakers Shack is definitely a custard place. We came here before going to the Pantages for a play, as it's a short walk to the theater and we've eaten at other ones previously. This is a restaurant where one can either order at the counter or go just before getting in line and ordering at an online menu. You get a stand with a number to take to your table and that's how the "server" knows where to bring the food. We ordered a Chicken Shack and a Veggie Shack and fries and a Mango Passionate to drink. The restaurant was fairly busy, has outdoor seating and while we were inside at the winds we could see people walking up and down Hollywood Boulevard. We may come again before a show. (I asked for sauce on the side because they only put a single drizzle for an extra 2 dollars). Paid 2 extra dollars for "crispy onions" on the hot dog, NO CRISPY ONIONS ON THE HOT DOG! What do you know. Paid an extra $7 just to pay my entry fee to HOPEFULLY get just ONE single shack sauce. What do you know, no shack sauce! Lastly, brown wilted lettuce on my $10 "burger" It seems as if the employees are quite literally upset to be at work, and i guess it's my fault that they have to work on new years. What a joke. Ok so, its missing a star due to pricing. The food was very good. The burger had a juicy taste and just was great all around. The fries were tasty and not overly salted. However we just got a single smash, fries and a drink and that was just under $20, FOR ONE PERSON!!...FOR FAST FOOD!!! Employees were very courteous and helpful. No "Service Charge" My first visit to a shake shack, I had no idea what to expect. Its a burger restaurant with good vegetarian options. Upon entering you are greeted with a row of kiosks for entering your order; the user interface is well done. Pricing and customization costs are clearly communicated, you can browse through the options easily, and there are no misunderstandings. Although I prefer working with a human, this is one case where screens win. If eating at the restaurant your food is brought to your table, which you bus yourself. There is a screen to give tips which surprisingly, and happily starts at 10%...since all your server is doing is dropping off food that seems fair. In our case, it was excessive. We took the last 3 napkins at the start of our meal; the containers were still empty when we left. One of the two ketchup dispensers was empty for the duration of the meal. While the employees were pleasant, the place was not busy while we were there, this seems to be a management issue. The food. We both had Shroom burgers with pickles and onions, shared a shake and fries. Not haute cuisine, but enjoyed. Not cheap, but given LA fast food workers now make a full time equivalent salary in excess of $40,000, its understandable. Sat in the outdoor patio which is offset from Hollywood Blvd. which limits people watching but provides some privacy. A good choice. Would we go back? Yes. read more

This location was my first experience with a Shake Shack. And I really loved it back then. (8 years ago) Recently went to a location closer to my home, and wasn't overly satisfied. Had tickets to Wicked and thought oh let's go to Shake Shack. This location was BUSY. The staff was very great. Such efficiency. The place was clean and well laid out. I only got the fries, no salt..... which I think are fabulous. I got a single patty (nothing else) and a side of pickles. Shake Shack pickles are the best pickles from a burger place I've ever had. They are thick cut, crunchy and just the right flavor. In my review of the Westlake location the fries and pickles were the only thing that was good. I was really disappointed in the burger. Tonight the patty here was flavorful and juicy. Unlike the one in Westlake. The way I ordered it tonight was just what I needed and totally hit the spot. It is usually very crowded and you have to wait until you find available spot. You can order at the cashier or at the kiosk. The service is really fast even during busy hours. Shake Shack has become a bit of a family tradition! The staff is always super friendly and helpful. There's quite a bit of seating inside and outside, but it can be hard to grab a spot if it's busy. I feel like the place is also very well kept and always tidy/clean. They have a lot of options available as far as food substitutes depending on allergies and preference such as gluten free buns, lettuce wrapped options and vegan/veggie burgers. There's also a non-dairy chocolate shake option that I tried yesterday. It was very good, but very rich! Service is quick and efficient. This only my second time having shake shack. Overall, I'd say it's a solid burger. I got the white truffle and added bacon, very good. Their chicken bites has a good crunch, but were not overly cooked. Shake is a solid 10 out of 10. Inside was a little unkempt however a lot of staff observed to picking up and cleaning after guests. I've been to several Shake Shacks over the years and this was my first time coming to this one yesterday and I had a good experience here! The staff was friendly and ordering was a breeze and the quality was about the same as their other locations. I came in and ordered the limited time Hot Ones burger and cheese fries. I received my food fairly quickly in less than 10 minutes. The cheese fries were delicious and with the Hot Ones sauce to dip in and the Aleppo pepper seasoning, it had a good kick in my mouth of heat. The cheese sauce helped balance out the heat but I enjoyed it. The Hot Ones burger was also quite delicious and there was a good amount of the Hot Ones sauce in the burger so I got a good amount of spice from it and by the end, I was starting to sweat a little. The angus patty was cooked well and not dry and the addition of paperback cheese and the bacon made for a rich burger. Their burgers are smaller than most other places you go to but the quality of the ingredients is what you pay for, and I think it's worth the extra price! To preface this review, I don't really eat on Hollywood Blvd because it's known for being a tourist heavy area with bland, overpriced restaurants. I only came here because I just got out of watching a musical at Pantages Theater late at night and hadn't had dinner. This Shake Shack was very crowded, no doubt many customers there were also coming from Pantages. They had kiosks where we could order from, but it was not user friendly at all. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't letting me check out, so already frustrated, I had to go to the counter and order from there. I've had Shake Shack maybe less than 5 times in my life, but this is the worst Shake Shack I've been to. I'm not sure if other Shake Shacks in Los Angeles do this, but at this location it felt like they really cut corners, and the food is not cheap to begin with. I got one of the lemonades and it was nearly filled to the brim with ice cubes that there was hardly any actual lemonade. The fries were soggy. The burger was kind of small and limited; for being more expensive than In-n-out burger, Shake Shack burger is known for being meatier, but it was not that much better nor was it more filling than In-n-out's. It really feels like a classic Hollywood restaurant where everything is expensive but the effort to produce something that's actually good is just not there. read more
