    Spicy Pork

Came here since it was recommended to me and WOW! I tried their spicy pork and it was so delicious. The place itself is tiny, and so is the parking, but it's typical for the area. The vibe inside is chill. Overall, the workers were really friendly and the food came out quick! Definitely try this place!

Shout out to the person working at Old Style Guitars who recommended this place. It's walking distance from Gold Diggers and Hollywood Forever (both great concert venues), and honestly some of the best eggplant I've ever had. The menu is simple and straightforward, with one vegan/vegetarian option. The tofu and eggplant bowl was insanely delicious. Huge portions, very reasonable price, and piping hot and fresh. I walked there and ordered from the cashier, and it was a ten minute wait for food. You can order online in advance for pick up from their website, and it seems like they do a ton of delivery. They gave me napkins, a fork, and soy sauce and sriracha packets, but I didn't need them because it was seasoned and flavored perfectly. The tofu was melt in your mouth soft, not chewy at all, my favorite way of eating it. The in house pickled veggies were so good, and balanced the flavors in the dish. There were cashews for a crunch, and some onions and bok choy, all on a bed of fluffy white rice. I know LA has a ton of places to eat but I would definitely come back just for this bowl. After the rest of my group saw and smelled what I was eating, they all went to go order from there themselves and agreed it was delicious.

I absolutely love the idea of a Korean BBQ Bowl. Most of the KBbQ restaurants I love require a minimum of two people to dine in. A lot of times when I have a taste for KBBQ I am alone and cannot enjoy it for this reason so this spot intrigued me. I ordered online for pickup. The GPS told me I was 8 minutes away, when I got there my order was ready for pickup. The portion sizes are great. I ate from that bowl all day! I ordered online: 1. Gochujang Chicken Bowl which comes on a bed of rice with house made pickle planks. It was good, just spicy enough and a nice portion. 2. A side of House made Kimchi -it was too soft for my liking so it seemed old, I prefer mine still a bit crunchy but the flavor was good. $3 3. A side of Dumplings. These were a good size and stuffed with flavorful filling $3 4. Korean Fried chicken - they were bite size pieces. I thought they would be Whole or party wings. I prefer bone in chicken. When you say "Fried Chicken" that's what I expect. Otherwise it's tenders or nuggets. But it explains the price $6 5. I loved the Korean drinks! I had the white grape juice which had whole peeled grapes in it. It was so juicy and fun. Also I had the Milk Soda which was a yogurt flavored carbonated drink Delish! 6. A side of rice just in case $2. It came in clutch as it helped me stretch my bowl into several meals. As you can see the prices are reasonable so you can eat hear on any budget. They use Sustainable packaging food and their to go presentation is on point! There is sufficient table seating for those who are on the go eating. I will definitely be returning!

This was the perfect lunch spot. I was working in the area and needed some food so I ordered from here. Really simple menu - I got the beef bulgogi bowl and chicken gyoza. Portion sizes was huge!! If I wasn't feeling glutinous I could have split it and had it for two meals. Bowl and gyoza were so flavorful and exactly what I was craving. I'll have to make sure to order again.

Wok-fried tofu... SAUTEED TOFU... did the name changed or is it different bowls. Anyways, it is so GOOD. It has a bit of everything - tofu, eggplant, cashews, bok choy, onions, topped with house made pickles over rice. Just writing this review makes me want one right now. Also, they're always super friendly here. Delicious eats and awesome service, what more can you ask for... Only down side, parking during busy hours, it can get super tight! But I say, it's worth it!

Great new go-to place. I don't come to this part of town but if I do, I'm eating here. Tofu bowl so yum I hate eggplant, that's ok Flavored and sauteed Strip mall a bit sketch Price is cheap but parking's meh Chef is nice and quick

I am a regular at this place because when I come to BBQ+Rice I know I'm going to be getting a comforting meal in a huge portion. This is owned by one of the co-founders of Baroo, the hugely successful popup and the quality and flavors of those dishes have translated quite nicely to these more accessible dishes, like the bulgogi bowl and the tofu bowl. My go-tos were the kimchi fried rice bowl (discontinued) and the bulgogi salad. People I've gone with also swear by their black pepper chicken and their short rib. I loved the kimchi fried rice bowl so much that I made it one of my phone backgrounds lol This location was recently broken into and their cash register stolen, so please support the super friendly owner Matthew amd his employees by stopping for lunch here sometime. One thing is that the parking lot is kind of small but there is also some street parking too.

FIRE A$$ food!!! You won't regret coming here. Friendly staff and great customer service. Every single visit so far has been just as good as the first Spicy Chicken Bowl has a burst of fresh flavors, soooo good! You won't regret coming here, bowls are decent size filled with veggies. My favorite part is the pickled radish (no photos to share).

Then guy who told the girl to seat us was just standing around d chit chatting with another employees for about 15 minutes before he even came to our table. He never even introduce himself. He just took our order. Another 20 mins came by before our food was served. OUR FOOD WAS ROOM TEMPERATURE. Short Rib was ok. The macaroni was stale and OLD! It was dry and not fresh! We asked for extra BBQ sauce and that didn't arrive for another 15 mins. We had to wave down another employee to try to get the sauce to us. I wouldn't recommend this place! Horrible service. Didn't even come around to see if we needed anything or if everything was good or not. We came here around 1:30pm on 3/16. The restroom was also out of paper towels and soap from the soda dispenser. Poor quality food! Glad I tried it, so I know to not come back again!

Wednesday worker plate Pork ribs…read moreBrisket Cornbread To preface this review, I ordered takeout and ate the food roughly 1 hour after and was slightly cold. The Wednesday worker plate had an assortment of meats and a chunk of cornbread, which I thought was a good way to try some of their various offerings. The barbecue chicken consisted of a leg and a wing piece, which i thought was overall fine. The shredded pork was well seasoned and moist, and the hot link pieces were very flavorful. The beef adobo was my favorite as it had a very deep and rich coconut flavor that complimented the meat. The pork ribs were very tender and juicy and had a good meaty pork flavor. The brisket was also good too. Both these meats reheated well later in the day and was still tasty! The cornbread was also exceptional and eating it, I felt it was more like a dessert but also worked well between bites. The cornbread was moist more cakey, and had a very deep sweet coconut flavor. This is the standout. Overall delicious and recommend!

We ordered four of the most ordered and highly revered items: tri tip, coconut beef adobo, smoked gouda mac, and the cornbread bibingka. * Tri tip: Ours was cold and not tender.. wasn't very flavorful either. Kinda tasted like the forgotten order that's been left drying on the counter for some time. The price is decent for an entree of tri tip though. Comes with a horseradish sauce + vinegar and bbq sauce on the side, but I didn't think any of these accompaniments were strong on their own. Made the tri tip better but not by much. * Coconut beef adobo: One of the better items. Beef chunks were melt in your mouth and the sauce was a good middle between savory and vinegary - balanced out by sweetness from the coconut. * Smoked gouda mac: Would not order again. The big shell macaroni noodles were soggy; the cheese sauce was mild in flavor, clumpy and not satisfying melty; lastly, the panko crust was just there and didn't add anything imo. * Cornbread bibingka: The other better dish of the night - very moist, muffin like crumb, and not too sweet or heavy. Portion is on the smaller side though. My bf who normally isn't a fan of cornbread enjoyed this!

They met that energy like absolute champs. Let's be honest: the staff probably clocked our "we tip well" aura from the parking lot. We walked in radiating good vibes, and they hit us right back with top‑tier service, fast, friendly, and so attentive it felt like we had our own personal pit crew. Drinks refilled instantly, plates cleared with ninja precision, and grills swapped out like a Formula 1 tire change. Awesome Great service! Special thanks to the staff and the chef, "wow" that must be me ? Ha ha ha. Clean, modern, inviting, the kind of place where you immediately think, "Yeah... I'm about to eat way too much and I'm okay with that." The lighting hits that perfect "I look good while eating beef" glow, and the vibe is chill without being sleepy. Such an Inviting ambiance! Let's talk about our line up, the Feast (aka: The Table That Feared Us) We didn't order food, we ordered a full spread that could feed a small village. * Toro Beef , melts faster than your willpower. * Angus Beef Rib, juicy, rich, and absolutely disrespectful in flavor. * Kalbi Chuck Rib, sweet, savory, and the reason we started questioning what made us so hungry. * Yaki Shabu Beef, thin, delicate, cooks in seconds, disappears in even fewer. The Sides (aka: The Supporting Cast That Stole the Show) * Kimchi & Spicy Cucumbers, the perfect "wake up" slap between bites. * Half Gyu‑Kaku Salad, refreshing enough to make us feel healthy for 3 seconds. Ha ha ha. * Fried Cheese Wontons, crispy little pockets of happiness. * Karaage, fried chicken so good it should be illegal. * Fried Chrispy Bacon Bits, so crunchy, salty, addictive. * Tokyo Iced Tea, the drink that whispers "you're gonna sleep GREAT tonight." We came in hungry, the kind of hungry where you start imagining the grill talking back to you. The staff saw us, felt our energy, and probably said, "Oh yeah... these folks are tipping like their lives depend on it." And honestly? They weren't wrong. Every dish slapped. Every bite hit. Every moment felt like a celebration of beef, friendship, and questionable self‑control. We didn't just eat, we conducted a full‑scale culinary demolition mission. Gyu‑Kaku -DTLA delivered great service, clean ambiance, and food that made us feel so good and welcomed. We came in with good strong positive energy, and they matched it, maybe because they're awesome... or maybe because we tipped like we were sponsoring the restaurant.
