OK, let's be honest. We're not talking world famous here. As they advertise. World famous means globally so no this is not a world famous spot. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Although it is quite dirty inside the dining room.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Let's get down to business. Customer service is excellent. The gentleman really knows the brand and supports the business and knows quite a bit about it to share the insight. Kind and friendly. Food portion: Big disappointment. You get a beautiful biodegradable bowl with lead fork and napkin where it looks very plentiful. They get you on a single level coating of chipped beef, which is flavorful but definitely not a solid portion of protein 90% rice 10% vegetable and beef. Overall experience, I would definitely say a a 6.5/10 for a quick eat. Honestly. I'm happy for them as they seem busy but hook people up with a proper portion of protein in their bowl. My boss ordered us lunch from this spot and well it didn't really sit well. It might be the fact that I have been not eating out for the past six weeks and although I ordered the Bulgogi salad with the dressing on the side, which I didn't even use, the Bulgogi itself is pretty heavy and oily. I wish they had lighter options. I didn't go for tofu since it looked fried and also overly marinated, but I guess it's your typical fast food type place. So if you're into greasy heavy stuff and have time to digest the food at the comfort of your own home, it's all for you. Shout out to the person working at Old Style Guitars who recommended this place. It's walking distance from Gold Diggers and Hollywood Forever (both great concert venues), and honestly some of the best eggplant I've ever had. The menu is simple and straightforward, with one vegan/vegetarian option. The tofu and eggplant bowl was insanely delicious. Huge portions, very reasonable price, and piping hot and fresh. I walked there and ordered from the cashier, and it was a ten minute wait for food. You can order online in advance for pick up from their website, and it seems like they do a ton of delivery. They gave me napkins, a fork, and soy sauce and sriracha packets, but I didn't need them because it was seasoned and flavored perfectly. The tofu was melt in your mouth soft, not chewy at all, my favorite way of eating it. The in house pickled veggies were so good, and balanced the flavors in the dish. There were cashews for a crunch, and some onions and bok choy, all on a bed of fluffy white rice. I know LA has a ton of places to eat but I would definitely come back just for this bowl. After the rest of my group saw and smelled what I was eating, they all went to go order from there themselves and agreed it was delicious. read more

I absolutely love the idea of a Korean BBQ Bowl. Most of the KBbQ restaurants I love require a minimum of two people to dine in. A lot of times when I have a taste for KBBQ I am alone and cannot enjoy it for this reason so this spot intrigued me. I ordered online for pickup. The GPS told me I was 8 minutes away, when I got there my order was ready for pickup. The portion sizes are great. I ate from that bowl all day! I ordered online: 1. Gochujang Chicken Bowl which comes on a bed of rice with house made pickle planks. It was good, just spicy enough and a nice portion. 2. A side of House made Kimchi -it was too soft for my liking so it seemed old, I prefer mine still a bit crunchy but the flavor was good. $3 3. A side of Dumplings. These were a good size and stuffed with flavorful filling $3 4. Korean Fried chicken - they were bite size pieces. I thought they would be Whole or party wings. I prefer bone in chicken. When you say "Fried Chicken" that's what I expect. Otherwise it's tenders or nuggets. But it explains the price $6 5. I loved the Korean drinks! I had the white grape juice which had whole peeled grapes in it. It was so juicy and fun. Also I had the Milk Soda which was a yogurt flavored carbonated drink Delish! 6. A side of rice just in case $2. It came in clutch as it helped me stretch my bowl into several meals. As you can see the prices are reasonable so you can eat hear on any budget. This was the perfect lunch spot. I was working in the area and needed some food so I ordered from here. Really simple menu - I got the beef bulgogi bowl and chicken gyoza. Portion sizes was huge!! If I wasn't feeling glutinous I could have split it and had it for two meals. Bowl and gyoza were so flavorful and exactly what I was craving. I'll have to make sure to order again. read more

Had to go to the UPS store and saw this spot on the corner, so I thought, "why not"? I've been on a big rice kick... almost went for the Bulgolgi salad since it's so hot, but decided to go traditional and get rice. Order: Bulgolgi and Rice - $12 Fried Chicken Dumplings - $3 House made Cucumber Pickle My favorite part of the meal was the cucumber pickles. I am glad I ordered a whole side. The bulgolgi and rice was ok. It satisfies you when you have a craving for meat and rice, but the flavor of the bulgolgi was alright. There was something missing or different that I can't pinpoint. All in all it was a descent lunch for a descent price. Eating area: So this is basically just a pick up window with outdoor seating. I am a regular at this place because when I come to BBQ+Rice I know I'm going to be getting a comforting meal in a huge portion. This is owned by one of the co-founders of Baroo, the hugely successful popup and the quality and flavors of those dishes have translated quite nicely to these more accessible dishes, like the bulgogi bowl and the tofu bowl. My go-tos were the kimchi fried rice bowl (discontinued) and the bulgogi salad. People I've gone with also swear by their black pepper chicken and their short rib. I loved the kimchi fried rice bowl so much that I made it one of my phone backgrounds lol This location was recently broken into and their cash register stolen, so please support the super friendly owner Matthew amd his employees by stopping for lunch here sometime. One thing is that the parking lot is kind of small but there is also some street parking too. read more

Pretty tasty rice bowl here. I ordered the bulgogi rice bowl with an egg and some kimchi. Most of the components of the bowl were good. The veggies and the mushroom were noticeably very good. They were made perfectly and complimented the bowl right. The rice was cooked well. The house-made pickles were impressive and had a nice taste. It added a nice vinegary taste to the overall dish. Now the bulgogi was very tender. Though, I wish it was marinated better. It did not have the signature sweet bulgogi marinade taste for me. Other than that the meat was pretty good. Not amazing, but pretty good. The egg was also a little overcooked for me. I wish it was runnier as opposed to being a little over-hard. The kimchi was just alright. I guess I got one of the older kimchi because it was very fermented and sour. Though it did balance well with the dish. Overall the bowl was good but nothing amazing. The quality of the ingredients is good. They all tasted fresh. Again the bulgogi was pretty tender, which makes me believe that the quality of the meat is good. The presentation is quite nice. The material of their bowl is very good. I like the simplistic logo on their bowl. The ingredients are plated orderly and not just tossed into the bowl. Overall the bowl is very eye-catching. The portion to price is pretty fair. The bowl is fairly large and it definitely fills you up. They do not skimp on the ingredients. They give enough bulgogi that you don't run out as you eat through the bowl. Overall it was a very fair price for what they serve. The staff was very friendly. She was very welcoming and friendly as I came into the store. She seemed very charismatic and helpful to customers. The food came out at an average pace. The ambiance is quite nice. It is very minimalistic with very minimal decor. Though, I do have to commend their orderly utensil station. I know it's an odd thing to recognize, but their utensil, chopsticks, and their water area were very nice and organized. The quality of the chopsticks and the utensils were really good as well. The place was overall really clean. There was no mess at all. The parking is ok. They have a parking lot but it is small and full. You may have to rely on street parking. I'm literally thinking about this place before bed, it was SO GOOD !!! I want to go back again tomorrow. The spicy chicken bowl with an egg was chef's kiss. It's my absolute favorite and the prices are reasonable not like some of these other overhyped LA joints! Parking is a bit chaotic, but just go there right before noon and you shouldn't have an issue. They are super speedy and make sure to ask for their special house soy sauce! Food is sooo good and portions are HUGE for the price; I could honestly only finish half and save the rest for later. I always get the black pepper chicken since the flavor tends to stay consistent for that one. Gave it 4/5 because the third time my boyfriend had the bulgogi bowl, it lacked some flavor. Not sure what the hype is to be honest... maybe I went on a off day but my friend and I were both pretty disappointed. Let's start off with parking, private lot but you have to be lucky to get a spot. The 7-11 guy is hella rude if you park in their spot, even if there was no actually sign on the pillar. So watch out and don't park in the spots that have yellow pillars. Food, ehhh. There wasn't much flavor tbh and Costco had more flavorful bulgogi than this place.
