My poor little Mercedes 320 convertible got into trouble on my way to vacation. My temp gauge shot up from normal to the red zone as the check coolant warning dialogue popped up. I pulled off the highway (100 degrees that day) and towed it .06 miles to Ben's LLC Mercedes Automotive Repair shop. What a great place. Fixed me up... took a while b/c apart had to come from Santa Rosa. But location has shopping center few steps away snd a Starbx. Nice guys in the shop and felt like my little baby was in great hands. B/c my Mercedes had a high pressure radiator hose (maybe they all do?) they had the right equipment to repressurize the system. I could not have had a better outcome to a bad car breakdown scenario. read more

I brought my 2004 Sprinter in for an oil change, filter change and check engine light issue. In my experience a lot of shops are unwilling, uncomfortable, or unable to work on Sprinters. I met Ben, a jovial, straightforward man who understands Sprinters. I received a call the following day with a full explanation as what was needed and was told that the "cold air sensor" was faulty. He replaced the sensor $32 and completed the oil service. He checked out the car and determined no other service was necessary. No upselling or scare tactics. A great experience. read more

Ben just saved me over $2,000 by thinking creatively and not cutting corners. (Details below) There appear to be a handful of truly spectacular mechanics in the North Bay... Ben is one of them. I have taken my Mercedes R350 to Ben for years. His approach is always what is the best and most efficient way to solve a challenge with the car and provides practical, economical advise on how to maintain it to prevent problems. How does he help every customer? Experience. Ben knows that unless your a millionaire, you probably want to save money where you can AND get the job done properly. Here is one great recent example. My wife's 2008 R350 recently had 2 OBD II codes come up - P2004 (Intake Manifold Runner Control Stuck $2,000) and P0128 ( Coolant Thermostat failure $500) and I had a power steering fluid pump gasket seal failure ($400). I had done some homework, shopped parts on Amazon to save. I called Ben and instead of installing a $1,000 new intake manifold, Ben found a super superior aluminum intake runner control brand new on Amazon for only $22 - which he charged at cost. I have been using the dealership for service in the past. I recently needed breaks and some additional work done and I contacted a few shops to check associated costs to compare with the dealership. The other shops I contacted told me they'd get back to me. When I called Bens he picked up the phone told me the cost and we scheduled the appointment. Ben was great! My service was done right and met all my expectations. Price was on point with what I wanted to spend, meaning Obviously the dealership charges way too much. If you seek professionalism, go somewhere else. Ben , the lead mechanic has none. I was insulted by him more than once... ME the customer! Believe me, I am not one of those fussy consumers. I am very patient and understanding.... AND to top that off , MY CAR WON'T START. 1st) lets' talk Quality and safety Since I got the car back the ignition would not start until about 10 attempts of turning the key and flooring the gas. How do they miss that? It still does it. I took my car in on June 30 and got it back by July 2nd. On that same day while driving from Ben's LLC to my work, my car dies! Talk about a safety check. They released the vehicle to me in an unsafe condition. I call Ben and he tells me to make sure there is enough fuel. I fill up the tank and then it drives fine, until I have to start it again the next day. With a full tank, the car would not start properly. As for Quality, it was a rush job. So fast was the work done that, by July 5th a hose blew. They overlooked a bad hose... Actually TWO bad hoses in the same region the original damage was done in the first place. They told me I had to pay more money than I already paid for the FIRST service. So I gave in and paid for the second service. Strike Two! Now the car won't start... after paying over $800 for what seemed to be simple repairs, the car is undrivable. Strike 3: Ben's LLC are crooks who acknowledge the problems but profit off not telling you completely what's wrong. I now have to take my car to another shop because from the mouth of Ben himself when I sought advice was, "Take it to the junk shop" Also, while asking questions about the car, he called one of them "the stupidest question I ever heard!" to my face. Maybe if we were at a bar or if we were buddies, it would be OK to have that tone.. but not with the customer please! Please note that Ben's LLC has NO warranty/ guarantee on the quality of their work, except for the parts they touch. Expectations exceeded? I think not. They are an LLC for a reason. Limited liability for the inferior service that they provide ;P Mercedes Ben's LLC is a catchy name, but please go elsewhere if you want to feel like a valued customer or if you want a guarantee for your work.. Started going here in 2008, for A and B service and other repairs to my wife's C240. They do really good work at a reasonable price. My wife trusts them, trusts their work and doesn't want anyone else to touch her car ... not even the dealer. She went here with a burned out headlight bulb and they replaced the bulb for FREE, how cool is that. She also boosted a dead battery by connecting the jumper cables directly and blew out the electrical (electronics are fussy about the extra volts), could have soaked me on the repairs because the car wouldn't turn OFF, but only charged $30 bucks to do both the diagnostics and replace a relay switch that was causing the problem. Have never heard anyone, who actually got their car repaired here, who was unhappy. The parts mark-up IS about 50% from what I can tell, a little high maybe, BUT if your worried about the parts mark-up , buy the parts yourself and they will install them for you. I have done that before and they did so without a problem. We have moved 50 miles away and we still go to Ben's, driving by 4-5 other Mercedes repair shops on the way. read more

Hands down the best Mercedes Benz shop in Sonoma County. I was going to Bens LLC then I strayed to save just a few hundred dollars and went to another shop on the south Petaluma Blvd. Bad choice. That shop was a nightmare and all the work that dude did failed. Back to Ben. I went back to Ben and told him I strayed and he never judged me. Look, heres the deal. This shop is professional and they do excellent work, Ben is a moondrop, his assistant is professional, and they don't mess around. They get the job done RIGHT the first time and thats important cause Benz repairs aren't cheap sometimes right? After my experience with this other shop I will NEVER EVER go to another shop again. The prices are reasonable and even if its on the higher end, its not the shops fault, its your choice in a vehicle. He also uses good parts too. Thanks guys!!! You ROCK!!! read more

We own several Mercedes, including a classic SL, a C Class, and an S Class. Ben has done a lot of work for us over the years from changing out a window switch to swapping out an engine and transmission. Though Ben's sense of humor may not mesh with some people, nobody can question his knowledge, experience, and proficiency. He has always been reasonable, straightforward, and honest in his dealings with us. Ben repeatedly has demonstrated that he will work with his customers and go the extra mile to try to save them as much money as he possibly can. I feel very comfortable dropping off any of our cars and telling Ben to do what he thinks is necessary, feeling confident that I am not going to be ripped off. I should mention that I am a female professional driver, and have encountered mechanics in the past who leave a lot to be desired for the way they treat an apparently single female walking into the shop alone. No male companion required when entering this shop! Ben was highly recommended to me by two people who used to work with him at a local Mercedes dealership. I, in turn, have strongly recommended him to several of my friends, who have thanked me for doing so. He is now their regular mechanic too. My husband and I also made a point of introducing our daughter to Ben so she knows where to bring her car, should she ever have automotive problems. So, where do I start? I went to this place a few months back with my 83 240d for a new starter. Wow. These guys told me for THE PART it would be 300 used or 500 new!!!!! WTF?!!! I looked into it and for an original german used mercedes starter a google search away in the same neighborhood: 70 dollars!!!!! 120 for a rebuild from autozone... one of the men at the shop was pissed I didn't want to get the work done and cussed me out on the phone saying I was wasting his time!!!! I had to go to the shop, push start my car and drive it to another shop up in santa rosa!!! Worst experience I have ever had with a car repair and I'm pissed that Yelp made me give them even one star. I LOVE my old Mercedes and that is why I will NEVER take it to this place and have told all my other friends in the Benz club how much these guys suck. I'm not trying to be agro and I'm not some old person looking for something to bitch about. I'm 28. these guys really do suck. The shop I went to in Santa Rosa was awesome!!! I forgot the name, but it's right off the 101 on the east side of the highway on the more south side of santa rosa... That dude actually knows his shit and wont try to rip you off just cuz you drive one of the most finely crafted automobiles on the planet:) read more
