Ordered delivery thru Surprise Express. It arrived quickly and still hot! I asked for the oil and vinegar for Submarine Special Hoagie to be on the side so it wouldn't get soggy. It was not on the side. And it was a disappointment. Hardly any meat on it. It was basically a small bun filled with shredded lettuce and tomatoes. For $13 I thought it would be a nice big sub. It was not. Plus it was soggy because they didn't put the oil and vinegar on the side like I asked. The chicken bacon ranch pizza was not good. The chicken reminded me of cut up, twice or 3 times baked chicken nuggets . Napolitano pizza with pepperoni was good. Overall, just paid almost $70 for food and I can honestly say, lesson learned. We've gotten Ben's Pizza three times now since we've moved to Surprise and it has been consistently good each and every time. The pizzas are so good and taste homemade. Tonight, we ordered the buffalo chicken pizza (I LOVE Barro's version) but this version gave them a run for their money. I think I might like it even better. This place was awesome. So glad we have something new in Surprise. The old restaurant that was in this space was awful, but Bens is great! I'm a plain cheese pizza fan, and theirs was so good. Crust was the perfect amount of crispy, and the sauce was fantastic. Service was great and we felt very welcome by the guys. We've tried all the pizza places in Surprise and this is by far the best! We've gotten the gyro pizza and pepperoni pizza from Nick and Ben's before and it is the same food. Just ordered the Gyro pizza, garlic knots and jalapeño poppers and they were amazing. I'm pretty sure the garlic knots are deep fried which somehow makes them even more delicious while still being light and fluffy. We will be ordering from here once a week! read more

Ordered from here for the first time after hearing how great it was. Wish I didn't listen!!!! The wings are small and dry and either over sauced or not sauced enough. The pizza was missing certain toppings and the pizza sauce was bland. The appetizer combo was meh at best. The mozzarella sticks were rock hard, the fried shrooms and zucchini was decent! The chicken parm dinner waa atrocious. All the water from the sauce had made the breading on the chicken mush!! The cheese on the chicken parm was burnt and the marinara sauce was bland. My girlfriend nudged me to try this place but just the name was a turn-off. Ben's Pizza? So finally one day we tried it and it turned out to be the best (thin crust) pizza in Surprise. Now, once in a while Native will turn out a decent pie as does NYPD, but they're super hit or miss, and you have to eat them there to be any good. Ben's, so far, has been "consistently" good with the same crunchy crust each time and still piping hot when it gets home (we don't live far). I'd give them 5 stars, but Pizzaria Bianco or Federal Pizza it 'ain't. I don't have faith the City of Surprise will ever see anything that caliber even though it has the potential. Their best effort to date is Oregano's with its soggy attempt at deep dish. Try The Rec Pizza up north with its high-sided cheese crust if you want an interesting deep dish pie. UPDATE! I had Ben's at 4 stars, BUT, after our 4th visit I took one star away. We tried a salad and their wings. Their "Garden" salad is described at having romaine lettuce and it DOES NOT. It's your typical zero nutritional iceberg lettuce. Don't advertise something that's not. If you're out of romaine at the time, that's ok, just let customers know when they order it and let them make up their mind. We also ordered the garlic wings and not only were they small, they had no garlic flavor. So thumbs down on both of those and that's why they went from 4 stars to 3. Walked in and the place looked like it was ransacked. Cheap looking tables. Junk strewn about the room.. the order counter was littered with junk. they had a worn out office chair behind the counter. Pizza boxes everywhere. Went for a two pizza slice deal. Guess I learned you don't get the drink with your meal after 4pm. I asked for a specific topping and got pepperoni. Cook said he could correct it. Didn't feel like waiting any longer. I bartered a free soda. So that was cool. The pizza cheese was good. The crust was a bit tough. The ONLY reason I didn't give them 5 stars is the boneless wings, I'm not sure how they're bone in wings are but I wouldn't recommend the boneless. I order Ben's Pizza through DoorDash every week. There is a message on the DoorDash app that says that Ben's Pizza delivers its own orders so DoorDash can't track the courier's progress. When I ordered tonight we waited for over an hour and a half. We decided to look outside to see if it had been dropped off before calling the store. The pizza was just sitting there. God knows how long it was out there but it was quite cold. No one ever rang the doorbell or knocked on the door. We called the restaurant and their first response was "well how do you we know they didn't ring the bell? We don't know that they didn't." So a customer calls you with a problem and the first thing you do is insinuate that they are a liar? Things went downhill from there. Basically, Ben's Pizza couldn't care less. We were told to contact DoorDash, even though DoorDash clearly states that if there was an issue with the order to call Ben's Pizza. I called DoorDash. They were immediately helpful and refunded everything but the tip. I will NEVER order Ben's Pizza again either directly or through any service. Mistakes happen. It's how you respond to them that shows the true character of a business. Ben's Pizza doesn't care about its customers. read more
