Chicago is well known for its deep-dish pizza, and we've tried it at several places. Barro's has become one of our favorites. The pizza is loaded with toppings, the salads are always fresh, and the wings are really good. Their family deals are also a great value--we're a family of five and usually still have leftovers. They have plenty of TVs, so it's also a great place to watch a game. The staff is always friendly, there's usually plenty of help, and the wait to order is minimal. The only things I'd improve are the restroom cleanliness and the table service. Once the food is delivered, you usually don't see the server again. We've visited several Barro's locations and the experience is pretty consistent. Overall, great food, generous portions, and very reasonable prices. Definitely recommended. read more

I ordered a small veggie pizza to pickup after grocery shopping. Paid for it and gave the girl that took my order a $5 + tip. So this pizza cost $21.00. Came back to get my pizza and they had not made it. It went into their system as a salad. Their salads don't cost $16.00 that made no sense. He wanted me to wait for them to cook it. It was 111 degrees out side and my truck inside with my groceries would be around 140. I asked him just give me the uncooked pizza and I would bake it at home. He said no the pizza would stick to the box. By then I knew he did not care. Of course they have foil paper in the back he could have put the pizza on and then put it in a box. He did not even off to give me a refund for their mistake. So I have no dinner for tonight. Thanks Boros. You won't be stealing my hard earned money any more! read more

First time trying this location. We called in our order and shopped at Fry's next door while we waited. Good, quick service. Order was ready on time. We got: - Large Barros Special with Original Crust - 12 Wings Traditional Medium with Ranch Dressing. Hubs disappointed there were 11 drumettes and 1 flat in his order - 1 Large Veggie Salad with Italian Dressing. Custom made at counter when I went in to pick up order. Very good in all. Some of the Spring Mix was a little old. Added croutons, shredded mozzarella cheese, mushrooms, bell peppers, pepperocinis, chick peas/garbanzo beans. Long benches near counter for to-go orders. If you're looking for food in this area, be prepared for slim pickings. There isn't much out this way yet, but, Barro's ALWAYS comes in solid! I'm familiar with their offerings so knew exactly what to order. However, I forgot that single slices are NOT available for dinner. So I ordered a personal cheese pizza. Short, sweet, right to the point. Normally, I get a thin crust with chicken, jalapeño, and, pineapple. About 15 minutes later, my pizza was delivered. Hot and proper size. Of course, delicious! The restaurant itself is identical to every other location. I wouldn't say service is astronomical as they were just kids getting paid to sling pizza. I usually enjoy the flats more than the drums and unfortunately with Barro's you can have the option to choose preference or leave a comment online, but no big deal, I'm sure I was going to get some flats with some drums and I'll enjoy either way. In my 55 years of getting takeout, never have I had to give more than my name to pick up my order. Until today. I walked up to the counter and gave my name about a dozen times, and she mumbled something back to me that I eventually figured out was that she wanted my phone number. I do not like giving out my personal information because it is unnecessary invasiveness. And to be honest the sub shop next door doesn't require anything more than my name. I've only had Pizza here, but it was great. Both times service was super friendly. One time was a to go pizza once we ate.The area was nice and clean service was quick. Prices are really good as well. We got a pizza to go to go stare at the supermoon, and it was fantastic. Plenty of topping might have liked to cook just a little bit more, but then again, the teeny bit of sogginess may have been because we didn't eat right away. This location taste more like the original Barros I had when I was a kid. It seems 10 years or so ago most of the Barros changed the crust cheese and sauce. This location definitely has the crust and it seems to be spot on with everything else. In a search for a pizza closer to the original I went as far as to 7th Street and Corral Gables the one we went to when I was a kid. Wasn't the same. The food remains consistent across visits. While it's not the best pizza, you know exactly what to expect each time. Service is average. The main annoyance is when, after paying at the register, a screen appears asking for a tip--despite staff only bringing out your order. We don't agree with this, so we won't be leaving a tip, but we will keep coming back. read more

First time at Barros Pizza. Ordered a small pepperoni jalapeño and onion pizza and also an Italian sub sandwich. The sandwich was pretty good. I liked it very well. The ingredients seem fresh and I like that they put the dressing on the side. The pizza on the other hand was made well but for me, the sauce just doesn't taste right. Pepperoni slices seem very thin. The real stand out thing though here is the people who are working there. They were very customer service oriented and pleasant. location is very clean, but I can tell that that area is going to be very congested in the near future because well frankly it already is. I live pretty close to the Barro's on Pat Tillman Blvd . Have been waiting for my first ever visit to a Barro's Pizza. My friends have been big fans for years. There were 5 of us for lunch. I wanted to try the pizza and another item. I had a slice of cheese pizza and a large order of ravioli. The pizza to me taste just like pizza from Costco. Pretty thick crust and not much pizazz. The large portion of Cheese Ravioli is 8 large round pieces of ravioli with enough marinara sauce to fill 2 orderes . Way too much for my liking. It also comes with 2 piceses of gralic bread. The ravioli tasted fine along with the bread and sauce. Being a guy from the east coast , I admit I'm pickey when it comes to my pizza. If I'm going out with my friend to any Barro's I would not order the pizza . Would try one of the hero sandwiches next time out. read more

I stopped at Barros on 12/3 to support the St. Marys food drive. I ordered over the phone one large pepperoni at 1:38 pm; based on my receipt promised pick-up time was 1:58 pm. I arrived at 2 pm for the pickup, and the young lady asked me for my name. I advised her no one asked me for a name over the phone and proceeded to give her my order (one large pepperoni). She proceeded to charge me for the pizza and told me just a few minutes, so I sat down to wait. 20 minutes later at 220, after the frustration hit me due to me needing to return to work, I asked about my order. The lady also had a hard time finding my order, so I told her from the start what had happened. She went to the back and, after a few minutes, brought out my pizza that had just been sitting there. I have a receipt with a time stamp that shows promised time 158, and yet I got my pizza at 220. I hardly ever go to Barros; I only did it to support the St. Marys food drive. I can tell you I will never go back, and I will ensure my friends and family are aware of my experience. All I got was a bunch of sorries and not even an offer to refund me my order. I work for American Express, where we pride ourselves on customer service and the products we back, and today I was truly disappointed beyond belief. Placed a pick up order pretty late on a Monday. Website made ordering easy. Although they showed open till 10, it was at least 8:30 when we placed the order. As a former server, I always feel bad ordering so late but we just moved, were starved & lots of places were showing closed. Although the place was empty by the time we picked up (typical for most restaurants on a Monday in general) the girl working the counter was very nice, went in through back to grab the pizza and I could tell by the smell it was going to be amazing - AND IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! Pizza is an easy, go-to when in the middle of a big move. This is the 3rd place we've tried & BY FAR the best over others that had been recommended to us.
