We landed at Taste of Italy in Goodyear, and honestly... solid choice! This is a legit NY-style pizzeria with all the usual suspects. We tried the Meat Lovers pizza, a cheese slice, and a pepperoni calzone -- and every single one landed at about an 8/10. The cheese slice was the first clue that we might be onto something. The crust was crisp and firm but still had that perfect little flop at the tip. True NY style! You could tell the dough was fresh, and the flavor was definitely there. You order at the counter, they bring everything to your table, and the turnaround was quick. Everything came out piping hot, the staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. It's not a huge space, but it's a comfortable size for a neighborhood pizzeria. Nothing overly fancy.....just good pizza, good food and good service. Definitely a solid spot to keep in mind when we're in the Goodyear area. Taste of Italy gets the thumbs up from us!

My kids had a great time with him as we waited for our food. I got the carbonara, my dad got the chicken pesto & my husband got a 3 meat penne. The kids got chicken tender and fries. Each dish was delicious and tasted authentic. The bruschetta dip was amazing. My husband doesn't normally like bruschetta, but how the flavors were balanced had him eating most of it. The bread was perfect, crisp outside with a softer inside. My carbonara was creamy and flavorful. Most carbonara upsets my stomach because of dairy (but I still order it anyway because it's my favorite), but how they made it here left me feeling satisfied without an upset stomach which is a huge win in my book! It warmed my heart to feel like my kids were welcomed in a restaurant with open arms when many restaurants view kids in general as a burden. We will definitely be back! Personally, we've never been to a restaurant that provided this quality of service and hospitality in addition to the best Italian food we've had at a more than reasonable cost! 10/10 recommend this to anyone!

I could have just ate that and would have been extremely happy. We ordered an appetizer of Calamari, it was a good portion size for the cost. The Calamari was well seasoned and crispy. I ordered the Portobello Mushroom Ravioli. It was flavorful with large pieces of mushroom mixed with the sauce. Even though it was a white cream sauce, the dish was suprisingly light, I would recommend trying it. The other two people I was with both ordered the Frutti de Mare. There was a good mixe and amount of seafood in the dish and the pasta was cooked perfectly. While the marinara sauce was good, I don't think it was something that was out of this world. I just think it needed a little more seasoning or some kind of kick to round it out. Overall, great restaurant and would recommend.

You better grab a slice of the Brooklyn pizza right away, though, because it's a traditional-looking pizza with pepperoni and sausage. You won't get a second shot at a slice. You'll get to finish the rest of the "adult" strawberry & bacon salad, though, with spinach instead of lettuce, walnuts, strawberries, and bacon bits. It doesn't come with ranch or even ranch-colored dressing, so they might not risk trying a pinkish salad dressing as a dip for their pizza crust. It's a very good salad and helped my vacation digestion, since I'm not used to the 110° August heat. Papa Paul's Pizza is less than a mile away from my room at the Wigwam. Going there would even be walkable in the summer heat if the fences around the Wigwam had pedestrian gates. As it is, both driveway gates on that corner of the Wigwam are slotted through the perimeter fence far from the place where Papa Pauls and the resort are just across the street from each other. I'm too delicate for a 0.9-mile walk in that much sun. I enjoyed a glass of wine at the bar to rehydrate, though, while I waited for the pizzas to come out of the oven.
