Spent a couple long days checking out Duluth.. I'd say, it's the go to spot in Duluth for beer. I also think while all the other breweries close at earlier times this is one of the few that stays open. SMART. That alone got me to go there an extra time $. Merch store was okay. I liked the back patio with the awesome heaters above. There were some questionable creeps in there but you'll get that anywhere I suppose. read more

Having lived in Fort Collins (Colorado) and Minneapolis, both regions brimming with breweries, I've visited and toured countless locations. Bent Paddle is one of my top three favorite breweries! In addition to excellent and unique brews on tap, the atmosphere is awesome. With a lounge area by a gorgeous fireplace, a gaming area with foosball, and nature-focused art and architecture, it feels as though they designed my ideal social environment. It's important to me that the businesses I support and recommend are committed to sustainability. Bent Paddle is an inspiring example. There is a page on their website with information about the many ways they are environmentally conscious, including signing a climate change declaration and protecting the water of Lake Superior. Check it out while you're in Duluth! For those not interested in drinking beer, there are non-alcoholic beverages available. I'll definitely return for a brewery tour and to enjoy the Lincoln Park neighborhood. read more

Heard this was a Minnesota staple and got some beers to take back. They have a line to get seated - but if you want to get beer to go you can skip that (wished they had better signage for this). They have a deal right now for $5 off 3 crowlers, but was kind of surprised at the price of a crowler - about $10 for two cans of beer! I think it would make more sense to get beer there and hang out in outdoor area read more

Cool warehouse space to enjoy a delicious craft beer from this institution on the North Shore. I really like this beer, but I was alone when I went to this brewery (yes that's possible!!) and I could not find a spot at the bar to sit, which is generally what I do when visiting a brewery alone. I had to find a spot at a table and after I had traveled a long distance for a gig I was working in Duluth, I just wanted to enjoy a brew and relax after my gig but I was sandwiched between people with older kids (teens) and a pretty boisterous yet basic group so honestly it was just the crowd that threw me off here. It's hard to explain but some breweries or bars you can just go into and feel cool being alone but other times, no, and this is just one not great for being a solo traveler. I enjoy their beers (esp their golden ipa, so so drinkable and easy yet strong!) but next time I am in Duluth I'll probably try something else! read more

Love this brewery in Duluth! It's always the taproom we look forward to the most. Our bartender, Jessica, was so helpful and nice!! She let us taste samples and gave us recommendations on the beers she likes the most. The vibe was great and they played good music which is a must for me (a lot of indie rock). Where do I start!? The beer is great! I tried about 5 different brews. I started light and worked my way to the darker variety. I was not disappointed by any brew. I was actually just killing a little time before my reservation at a Smokehouse right down the street. The bartender told us we were allowed to order food, have it delivered, and eat it right at the bar! FINALLY!!!! Duluth has opened up to more innovative business practices! I wish I had gotten my bartenders name because he was super awesome and helpful. He was a blonde guy in his 20s. If you want good service, sit in front of him. read more

I had a good first visit at Bent Paddle. The taproom itself is very loud, with high ceilings and lots of reverberation, so I was glad that the patio was open on the night that we went, with the cool night air dissipating the noise with a hint of bonfire scent. Also, I was very glad that they had dark beers on tap, instead of the "the snow is melted, so we have 10 different IPAs on tap, each more hoppy than the last, because no one drinks dark beers in summer" that you might find with other taprooms. The dark beers that we had were two variations on a stout, each with its own merits. It's a stylish and classy place. People seemed to be in a good mood there. I would certainly return on my next visit to Duluth. read more

I travel to the North Shore for climbing, hiking and camping trips often and I'm sad to say once this brewery moved locations I have been disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed their original spot and vibe, but since moving, their quality of service has unfortunately gone down. The staff was relatively unfriendly when I was there recently and I found myself finding searching out other locations in the area to quench my post adventure thirst. read more

I bought the flight for $10. Great deal if you are not sure what you would prefer. Out of the 4 beers I chose, I recommend the Black. If a dark ale isn't your thing, Trampled was pretty good. It's a golden ale. The only offer snacks like beef sticks, popcorn and a bag of pretzels. You can bring food from other places. There are a handful of restaurants within a two minute walk from here. You can place an order to go and bring it here. Nice environment to just hang out. Outdoor seating too. read more

This was my first visit to the new Bent paddle Taproom. Upon walking through the door the feel was very cozy and artistic. There was a lot of seating and I liked the concept of no servers. This gave us the ability to walk around the Taproom and change seats as we preferred. The Taproom does not serve food, but we could order food and have it delivered from surrounding restaurants, which was a nice touch. They did not have have my favorite seasonal beer in stock yet, Lollygager, but I hope it comes on tap soon! Overall the new Bent Paddle Taproom is a big step up from the seating at the old Bent Paddle Brewery and I cannot wait for my next visit there. read more

So welcoming and fun educational session about their beers/ history/ even science behind their brewing. Post covid, very spaced out, screening when you walk in makes things feel safe.
