I've had better bagels before. I'm not saying these are bad. Just ok. There is always this one guy that is rude as it gets. He would rather go through the tv channels instead of taking an order. Then he would talk crap in Spanish thinking I wouldn't understand what he says. Customer service wise is the worst. Remember, because of the clientele you are able to pay your bills. Solid delicious bagels. Beats NYC bagels imo. The bagels itself are always fresh, plump, bouncy, but then toasted to perfection. The cream cheese selections are classic and also fresh. The store is a no frills strictly bagel shop. No unnecessary items on the menu. It tends to get pretty busy so there can be a bit of a wait but the service is still pretty efficient given the circumstances. Parking can be tough tho on Bergen Blvd so just keep that in mind. read more

I haven't tried every single bagel in the world... but none of the bagels I've had in NY have hit home like Boulevard Bagels. Literally come here every Saturday or Sunday morning to get a sausage egg & cheese on a salt bagel (first time having a salt bagel and the combination is soooo good, I'm hooked!) Boulevard Bagels was once the gold standard in all of NJ and NY -- perfectly chewy outside, light and fluffy inside. Friends from NYC would always ask to stop by for this bagel. That's long gone. The bagels now taste like dense bread, and after years of hoping the quality would return, a recent visit confirmed nothing has changed. One time they offered to toast my bagel -- something no legitimate bagel shop would ever do unless asked by the customer. Fresh bagels don't need toasting, and any many shop owners consider it an offense. Long-time customers will find them unrecognizable. The five-star reviews claiming otherwise seem fake -- no one who remembers the original could honestly say these are still the best. To make matters worse, there is a pricing transparency issue: topping prices for lunch sandwiches are not clearly listed and are instead buried under the breakfast sandwich section, which is confusing and misleading. When I raised this, both the employee and the manager were dismissive and rude, embarrassing me in front of other customers. That interaction is what prompted me to write this review. Childhood favorite and old stomping ground. Absolutely consistent throughout the years for their superb collection of spreads and toppings. The bagels are made in house daily and are fresh as can be. Hands down my favorite local bagel store. It opens at 5 am daily and has parking out front; however, it is so busy in the morning that cars are routinely parked on the surrounding shoulders, too. The bagels taste the way a bagel should -- just right slight crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. We routinely order the onion, whole wheat, and pumpernickel bagels. We also order scallion and cream cheese topping to go. (I have tried the cream cheese and lox topping, but did not enjoy as much.) The service is pleasant and efficient. I have been coming to Bergen Boulevard Bagels for years and there bagels really are delicious however today was a terrible experience. I ordered 2 egg sandwiches, a bagel with cream cheese and a 4th bagel cut with cream cheese on the side (my 6 year old is starting to loose her teeth so easier to eat that way!) The manager refused to slice the one plain bagel for me. When I explained it's for my daughter he said it's not their policy. Not sure how it's not a policy to slice a bagel at a bagel shop but seems crazy. I asked again kindly and he still refused. Now I understand if I was ordering a dozen bagels and asked for them sliced but one as part of a larger order seems not too much to ask for and really just a hospitable way to run a bagel shop. NJ is known for its malls... its crazy drivers... AND ITS BAGELS!!! i've been to a couple bagel places but THIS PLACE i tried for the first time and it's 10/10 i got the taylor ham and egg with a plain bagel toasted (about $5) + a small coffee that was $1.75!! super affordable price for super yummy food they're doing takeout only here so when you walk in, you order on the right and then wait until your food is ready and then you pay! they have a $5 credit card minimum here so make sure you bring some cash with you! parking is a little annoying because it's a super tiny parking lot in front of the store off the road. i think it's still possible to find a spot bc normally people just come pick up their food and leave. but yea overall perfect place to go when you're in that bagel mood read more

As a NY native, Ive never tried bagels in NJ before so I was curious about this place - Im happy to say I wasn't disappointed. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel as well as a Taylor ham egg and cheese on an everything bagel. The bacon egg and cheese was pretty good almost comparable to the New York version. I liked how they added ketchup to the bacon egg and cheese bagel. In terms of the Taylor ham, it was really interesting because I've never heard of or tried it before, but overall pretty solid as a breakfast sandwich. Was even better with the ketchup and salt and pepper given by the server. In terms of the service are there was a solid line but the wait wasn't too bad. In terms of the pandemic precautions, they use barriers, masks, and sanitizer was available for public use. Overall, would definitely return for another bagel sometime. read more

This "is" THE best store for bagels (period). It gets extremely packed in the morning time. They have about 7 or 8 spots, but you will most likely end up parking along the street. The service is okay, sometimes they forget things or don't make your food the way you ask. I would take a star away for that, but the outstanding taste of this bagel outweighs the sometimes negative service. Tip: You may have to park across the street due to the high volume of customers. Bonus tip: If you get there early enough you will want to grab a Nutella chocolate croissant and an apple turnover. So I moved a block away from here a little more than a year ago and I average coming in once to three times a week. Their portions are good, they don't skimp on the cream cheese, prices are great, and the service is always on point! It gets packed in the mornings so parking can be difficult since they only have 6 parking spots in front of their store. You might have to keep your hazards on and run in or park across the street and walk over. I usually go with a friend and have them drive around the block while I secure the bag(els) They have a bunch of different juices, snapples, water, and sports drinks available but nothing fancier like coconut waters or naked smoothies. They have a small selection of chips and gums/candies.. but most importantly, they have a selection of single serving pain relievers for those of you who are stumbling in to get your hangover breakfast Overall highly recommend if you're looking for a spot to become your new bagel spot. As a New Yorker, I would like to say I have pretty high standards for bagels. And I think that this place beats out all the famous bagel places I've had in NY! We are regulars here because we live down the street. This is your mom and pop shop of fully handmade bagels. The best is when you see them walk out with the whole sheet of fresh bagels and throws them into the shelf. That's the bagel you should go for today if you see them come out fresh. Absolutely delicious when it's straight out of the oven. They make all your different sandwiches. You can also have the inside of your bagel taken out if you don't want all the carbs. You know that they don't use preservatives because of the way the taste the next day. We usually love their bagels and drive out from Edgewater to get them. On almost any given day you can expect friendly staff, quick service and fantastic taste. Today however all three of our bagels were not up to the mark. The BLT had one slice of bacon (instead of the 4 we were informed they usually put in the sandwich). The bagel with lox spread had plain cream cheese with two bits of lox and the third bagel also lacked adequate filling. What goaded me to write this review was not the bagels itself but the attitude of the person I spoke with over the phone. When I called to inform them that we are regulars and love their bagels but today's order missed the mark, the lady that spoke to me was rude and combative. She decided that instead of taking the feedback as a learning moment, she was going to argue and yell back at me. Yes I know you have the best bagels, yes I'm telling you there was one slice of bacon in the BLT and no I do not expect anything from you except a thank you for letting us know our new staff needs more training. Can't compare to NY bagels but pretty good for what Fort Lee has to offer. I like the lox spread a lot and the everything bagel was fluffy enough for me. There's a generous amount of lox in the cream cheese, too! I do prefer more variety in terms of bagel flavors and cream cheese though. They also serve just a few flavors of cheese. Yet today a "vet" employee decided to say I couldn't order a plain toasted bagel nor put my own cream cheese on it. Then proceeds to laugh at me as I'm growing frustrated over the fact this is happening (after I've received this service multiple times busy or not). It was not busy as this was happening.
