Came here yesterday to get an hour long massage. I had pulled something in my shoulder and asked the woman to focus on that. This massage was so painful I woke up today feeling more sore all over than before! She was pressing her elbows into my lower back so hard that I woke up with bruises today. I asked her for less pressure more than once and she continued at the same pain level. This was a really painfuL and stressful hour that did more harm than good. Will definitely not be coming back here. Also, it's not listed when you come in but they will try and charge you and extra $5 if you use card to pay. Thankfully I had enough cash but they had me scrambling at the register trying to find enough. You need to let customers know that in advance! **there is a difference between a "deep tissue massage" and a massage that leaves your back blatantly bruised and in more pain the when you went in. This was not a deep tissue massage it was a bad massage. read more

I left this spa in more pain than when I came in. The massage therapist (her name is slipping me) was perfectly nice, but she put an inordinate amount of pressure on my spine. I've gotten a good amount of back massages and this is the first time anyone has put so much pressure on my actual bones, not on the muscles surrounding them. I went in yesterday with a LOT of pain, knots and tension in my upper back (consequences of stress and working from home). I told my masseuse Mary and showed her where i felt the most pain and she focused on that area carefully breaking all the knots and tension. Mostly a positive experience, but one unfortunate miss! Ambience - clean, relaxing vibe, soothing music; Staff - timely, professional, friendly; Massage - full-body 60 minute massage was wonderful; Value - really great for the price The only issue was that I specifically stated that I was 21 weeks pregnant when I called to book my appointment. The masseuse that was assigned to me unfortunately didn't speak any English, so she was confused why I kept pointing to my large stomach in an attempt to communicate that I could not rollover and lay on my belly. She eventually got the point, but it was an awkward disconnect (lost in translation) for a bit. Also, The reason I booked an appointment was because my lower right back is out (in a lot of pain). I kept trying to indicate to my masseuse that I wanted her to focus in this area a bit more, but again it was lost in translation and she spent most of the time on my upper back, shoulders, arms, and neck. I left the massage feeling relaxed, but I still have the same stubborn knot in my lower back that I came in with. Next time if I get a non-English speaker as a masseuse, I hope the front reception can help clarify any specific needs/wishes first. I came here a few times for quick back massages but I won't be coming back. The last visit was extremely painful to the point where I was clenching my teeth the entire time. I let my masseuse know several times and he barely lightened up. I was hoping that I would at least feel relieved after the massage w/ all the knots out but it's been over 24 hours and I'm still in pain and my neck and back literally feel bruised. Basically I feel worse now than when I walked in. I also noticed that there was a $10 credit for $5 coupon on yelp which I was going to use but the guy said it only applies for 1 hour massages, which is fine but it doesn't say that on there. Again, it's only $5 and it was a cheap massage to begin with, but they should clarify because it seems like they're just making stuff up. read more

We both got the perfect amount of pressure (really strong for him, pretty light for me) and the therapists were very friendly. I went today to get a 60 minute massage and 30 minute foot rub which was $68 btw. My services was beautiful. I went a little before 11m which was my appt time and was seen right away. I was greeted and shown to my service area. Everything went smoothly. The only thing was i was told the name of the person that did my services, nor did he introduced himself. Went here on a whim. It's affordable with out a coupon!!! My man and I so desperately needed a massage. So we went on line and searched Groupon as well, needless to say this popped up and I booked a couples massage. NOTE : Bergen Spa does not have the space for couples massages. Separate rooms for full body back massages. They had some awesome prices and different services to apply. The music is very relaxing this place is very QUITE! I was on time and in a room with in 7 mins. I had Summer and she was great. We didn't talk much other then her checking on me to see if she was applying too much pressure. She also spent time on my knots all along my shoulder blades. Which thank goodness helped me out a lot. HE: Had Sara working on him, and he was so happy with how she worked on his legs which are always tense from cycling. Sara's massage style was different from Summers but its fine. My question also.....what happened?? Let's start with common courtesy...when you answer a phone you ask if you can put the party on hold!! Not just spiel it your rehearsed answer and click hold. Still on courtesy, when someone enters and there are 3 people sitting behind the desk, someone makes eye contact/says hello/asks if they an help/ states they'll be with you on a moment. Nope. One on the phone, the other 2 watching. When I called them out, one said she was in training (hasn't been taught to say hello yet?!?) and the other is a therapist.....not an acceptable excuse either. Now let's talk about "walkins welcome"...a falsehood. I have yet to be accommodated as a walk-in, in fact usually cannot get an appt even 2-3 days out. Unfortunately, this behavior is also at corporate , where customer service just hung up on me! They also will not tell you the owner's name d/t privacy concerns...."the way things are in today's society........." Shame on you for being in the service industry! read more
