The deadbolt completely fell apart on my front door today. Since I was locked out of my house I was looking for fast service. These guys were at my house within half an hour, completely replaced the deadbolt, gave me four new keys, and even made adjustments to the door frame so the very old, warped door would latch better into the frame. It was my first week in Capitol Hill/First Hill when I realized that I locked myself out of my new place. I had never dealt with another locksmith outside of Ballard or Lake City, but Bergman's was the first place I got in touch with and I'm glad I did. The guys who work here were really nice and didn't make me feel dumb for leaving my keys in the house. Over the years, I've gone to them for making copies of my keys and even though I'm no longer living on the Hill, I still go out of my way to keys copied from them or I'll recommend Bergman's to any of my friends who've moved out in that neighborhood. Very quick and cheap charged me less than they quoted me if I ever need another key made I'll defiantly go back to these guys.

They are across the street from my apartment building so it appeared to be the most convenient option for me. But I thought they looked sketch. I was putting off getting a spare key copied for literally months. Then I saw the door propped open on a sunny day and figured why not, I expected I would be without a key for a few hours. I needed approval from my building manager and the guy not only called him right there on the spot, he even knew who to call. When I approached, she was painting the front door on a sunny afternoon, and I smiled and said excuse me so that I could walk past; and she just rolled her eyes and asked what I needed. Wow, didn't think I could be so happy with a (quick) trip to the locksmith, but I am. We came in with two keys, one of which the employee didn't know that they could copy, so, he told us so (and suggested where to go to get it made), and copied the other key for free! Great INDEPENDENT locksmiths. they'll make your key (rare or common), fix your lock, help with lockouts and even find your phone and return it to you (yes, they did that for me!). Too bad the fool developers and our inept-on-matters-of-Real-Estate city council are working to redevelop their space and might force them out. NO!!!!!! These guys are local and great. Went to the shop one time with a proprietary key for my scooter to be copied and it was like a fun puzzle for the locksmiths there. They did everything they could to make the key. Today they rekeyed the locks on our house, Aaron, came out to do the work he was super friendly, efficient and helpful. Today, I had a copy of a key made and it didn't work. I was annoyed, but I called them and told them how the key doesn't work. He told me to come back and he'll make another one. So I took it back and he looked at the keys, did some measuring, and made me another one and it worked. Yay! I think it should have been right the first time but I know mistakes happen. The service here was excellent. Immediately upon entering I was greeted with a smile by a guy named Matt who immediately stopped what he was doing to say hello and offer his assistance. I was having a lock rekeyed and he made time and quickly rekeyed my lock in minutes. It was not only extremely fast but super friendly. Needed to copy our mailbox key, we were in and out of here in about a minute flat for all of $3. Guys at the counter were very friendly.

They get the job done--usually great service. Lonny could use a lesson in communication, he's a bit rude.

We needed 2 locks put on doors for a house we were selling. I was surprised when I left a message on Sunday afternoon- thinking I would get a call back on Monday- to get a call back that evening. These guys are by far and away the best in Seattle. I tired multiple times to get keys made at Hardwicks on Roosevelt and they kept botching the job. I guess the key was a little tricky, but these guys are WAY more pro. Seattle needs more places like this. Great, fast friendly service. read more

As someone who handles a lot of client keys, I've used locksmiths in emergencies before, but never received the fast & quality service I received today after locking myself out. They were there in less than 15 minutes from my call and the whole process took approx. 20 minutes! Super price too!! They restored my faith for good service without getting ripped off! I didn't actually get to use their service. BUT with my life in dire straights on a Monday these guys really came through for me. With a packed schedule they put me on a stand by list for same day help. Mind you all I needed was to get into my mailbox but this was life or death to me. Around 1 pm I became antsy and started calling around for an early morning appt the next day just in case they didn't have time (btw these guys are booked out several days in advance). I called them back and I got who I believe is the owner and he recognized the panic in my voice and mentioned he knew I called earlier, so he put me on hold contacted his service worker and found out he would be calling me in 20 min?!?! Can you believe it 20 min. Funny story before that 20 min, we found the package we needed wasn't even in the mailbox it was in the mailroom.
