I visited this clinic for the first time at the recommendation of Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance company. It was for cataract anual check-up and making contact lenses. First of all, the shocking thing is that the medical inspector machines have not been cleaned at all! I saw the previous patient's makeup, mascara, and eyebrows stuck together. Moreover, the nurse did not disinfect or clean before I put my face on it. They used four machines but none of the doctors or nurses cleaned or disinfected them. After that, I was given a trial of contact lenses, but was guided to the bathroom. The bathroom wasn't cleaned at all. I've never visited such a dirty medical clinic in my life. Especially in this Covid-19 pandemic! read more

So Finally after 45 days they offer to refund my money for the glasses that I paid that were delivered in the wrong color, however they want me to return the other ones and then be without glasses or the money to pay for new ones cause I will have to wait several weeks to receive refund. They messed up big time, so I have to spend hours on the phone, talk to multiple people and complain and still not satisfied. I ended up recording the manager because of the way she was treating me and still it didn't matter. This my first time ever using them and will be my last. I gave them multiple opportunities to do the right thing, now I have to call insurance company to see if they can help me sort this out. I hope you pay very close attention to your lenses/Frames and let them know if they're not in stock they should make you aware before just sending you something you didn't ask for. Now I have to do all of this over again so that I can see and all of us know that getting glasses is not the most fun or convenient activity but it can be pleasant if they make an honest effort to do the right thing and care about their patient. read more

I have been going to Dr. Bac Nguyen for exams the past three years now, and even followed him all the way out to the Katy office (a good 40 minutes from where I live). Each time I've seen him, he has consistently shown a level of care, respect, and precision that I hardly ever see with other doctors. As a healthcare provider myself, I am fully aware of the importance of routine medical follow up for my chronic conditions. I trust no other doctor more than Dr. Nguyen. He always takes the time to explain ideas and highlight key concepts about my eyes, and does so in a level that is understandable without being too technical. The staff at the Katy office were incredibly professional, friendly, and efficient in doing their work. Patients can tell when the staff is well trained and detail oriented, and I was impressed with the quality of the staff as well. I will continue to drive through the Houston traffic to Katy to see Dr. Nguyen wherever he practices! read more

My experience yesterday was absolutely amazing. When I first signed in, the nurse at the from desk that checked me in was very pleasant. Attitude was great, and for that time of morning you usually don't see that. I was sorry that I didn't get her name. Then the nurse that I had was very friendly and professional in every way. Her name was Brianna, she was very through in taking care of me. She made sure I was okay. I really appreciate and her chair manners. I also made sure to mention it to my doctor. Berkley eye center of Katy takes fantastic care of my son. Dr. Doe is the best! My son was diagnosed with a complicated condition when he was 7. Dr. Doe and Berkley Eye Center started taking care of him when he was 9. My son is 19 now and he still sees Dr. Doe. If it weren't for Dr. Doe my son would have gone blind. Dr. Doe preformed my son's first cataract surgery when my son was 12. He had his glaucoma surgery at 15. My son sees well now. He's a patient for life! read more

Three visits, two surgery dates, still no cataract surgery. First visit in mid-April 2021, they took all the appropriate measurements and scheduled surgery. However, the anesthesiologist misinterprets notes from my cardiologist and backed out at the last minute. Rescheduled surgery for this morning after VERY DIRECT CLEARANCE from my cardiologist, but when I showed up this morning, they wanted to re-do the measurements, reschedule surgery, bill my insurance again and charge me another co-pay. I think I'll trust my eye to someone a little more patient-friendly. read more

I was already kind of excited about going in the get my eyes checked because so many of my friends had such great experiences with Berkeley Eye Center and they were not wrong! I am supposed to pick up my glasses next week and I cannot wait! The staff members were so sweet to my son and husband while they were waiting for me to finish with the appointment. They helped me find and pick out glasses that compliment my face shape and lifestyle. (I have two little boys so I need some strong, durable frames and lenses!) I had LASIK last year; Dr. Garrett has thorough exams, he was only Dr to catch my tiny imperfection in the back of my left eye. I went to Eye Center of Texas and Mann before stopping here. Doctor Doe performs the surgery; he was Flight Surgeon with the U.S. Army. Today, I have 20/20 vision. They don't advertise their discount hero plan for first responders and military. My husband and I were looking for a new optometrist. We recently came across BEC. He went first. Getting an appointment takes weeks. The front desk is less than professional. But the technician and doctor made up for it. He was quite satisfied with his new contacts. My turn. Again, making an appointment is sublime. I requested and appointment online. After two weeks no one ever responded. I called and it took 20 minutes for someone to answer. The next appointment was a month away? I accepted. The check in was quite odd. The clerk looked at me several times, never said a word. Continued doing multiple tasks. Then, she finally asked my name. Not hello? My wait was minimal. I appreciated the kind technician, the doctor and the friendly check out. I requested to try my regular contacts and try a new brand. My regular wasn't in stock, informed they would be in by the end of the week and someone would call me. No one called. The following week I called and was told yes my regular brand was in stock. I requested to have them at the front for pick up. The young women said yes they'll be waiting for you. However, the brand my husband brought home was not my brand. I attempted several times to speak with someone but no one ever answered. I drove there. I went to the same desk to inquire if my particular brand of contacts were in. The woman seated at the desk looked at me but continued answering calls and proceeding to hold conversations. Finally she hung up the phone asked what I needed. I told her I'm checking to see if my specific brand has come in. She proceeded to check for an "order" for me? Again, I explained but before I could finish the phone rang and she answered it. Then started another conversation? I had enough and left. I'll return to pick up the correct brand, receive my prescription and be done. Hopefully my visit next year will be less trying. read more

Maybe they have improved in the past 2 years, but all I saw on my visit was problems. Some of them were not their fault, but the company they ordered my glasses from. But some of the issues were the fault of this particular Berkeley Eye Center. They called to confirm my original appointment, but then when I got there I was suddenly not in their appointment log? I would show up for an appointment for a fitting and the person I was there to meet would not be there. They would step out to grab a snack or something and I would be told to come back in an hour. I just found this location to be very unprofessional and something similar to what you might find in a country doctor. By that I mean more relaxed towards their clientelle and assuming that they could just come back when ever they want. Most of us have jobs and a schedule and have to meet at certain times. They don't seem to realize this. I'll be going back to the one on Wesleyan for any further exams or fittings. read more

My initial exam was good; however, I didn't think the tech got one eye correct. I was right. My initial trial of contacts was horrible since I couldn't see out one eye. I came to the follow up and had a good experience with Doc, but it went downhill quickly. I was ushered to a room to wait for OPTICS. I was the only person in the room. TEN MORE PEOPLE COME IN AND WERE SEEN! I WAITED 40 MINUTES WITHOUT ANY SERVICE!!! Another person came in and was immediately called to OPTICS. I got up to leave when I heard someone calling out "Miss." she asked if I was waiting on OPTICS. I said yes. Waited another 10 minute. My appointment was at 9:30. I walked out at 11:20 and never was called to OPTICS. Lastly, I received a call saying to stop by and pick up my remaining free contacts. I just wasted my lunch break because no one from OPTICS is there and the guy didn't have them at the front door and the people at the front desk are apparently clueless about the OPTICS station. SERIOUSLY GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. THE LEVEL OF INCOMPETENCE IS OUTRAGEOUS! read more

So.. I came for lasik and loved it!! Loved the place and the staff are all soo welcoming and sweet!!Denise is Awesome ! The doctors work as a team and I loved them all! My Lasik was a huge Sucess! And then we met a salesman named John in the eyeglass center . he was so awesome that we ended up bringing my husband in for an eye exam and getting some really awesome glasses from him he had such an awesome personality and he was so knowledgeable that we decided to get new glasses LOL for hubby ;) We will never go to another eye place hands down this is the best for customer service. read more
