First off, the peach panzanella salad and the chicken milanese were both scrumptious and I would love to enjoy them again. We had a reservation on the patio at 7pm in July. We knew it was going to be hot, but they need more or stronger fans. That covered patio blocked ANY breeze and we were meltingggg the whole time. They brought out carafes of chilled water and small glasses, but no ice so there was no real way to cool down. They also had someone bugging patrons for money off the street who they had to ask to leave at least 5 times. This was very uncomfortable and distracting. Our server was very chill and nice, but we were a bit put off when she watched a huge fly dive into my almost full drink and start swimming around. I asked for a replacement, but she kept saying another and charged me for both. She was also frequently absent as we ran out of water repeatedly. Thankfully another server brought us what we needed. Ok Donna was a lot of fun. The restaurant is small but really inviting with lots of cute and funky decor that gives a really welcoming vibe. Overall I really enjoyed the food, some dishes more than others. Everything is made to be served family style, sorta like tapas with for Italian food. I love the concept of the restaurant and how seasonal the dishes were. The menu changes a lot so I've attached photos of what it was in June 2026. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and really knowledgeable about the dishes. DEFINITELY order a cocktail - these are true craft cocktails with bold fresh factors. The focaccia was nicely done, the whipped ricotta was fine. I wish it had a bolder flavor, but that's me. The chilled pole beans were probably my favorite. Which is a sentence I never thought I'd write, but here we are. I'm still thinking about those delicious beans days later. If you can make me dream about cold beans, you are at least part wizard. The peach panzanella was also tasty, the peaches were perfect. I loved the greens it was served with - no idea what they were but it felt like something a summer fairy would serve at a potluck. The rigatoni isleno was a flavor I haven't really had before. I thought it was interesting and unique, but not sure I'd order it again. The chocolate mouse was airy and rich and perfect. Stopped in with a reservation for drinks and appetizers before dinner. Parking in their lot is limited since it is so small but we were able to find street parking a block or so down. For drinks we tried the yuzu margarita and the aperol pineapple- mine with vodka - so yummy and tasted like an adult version of an orange Julius. For apps we shared the fried cabbage- coated in miso butter and cheese. This was unexpected but fresh and parked with umami flavor. Second, we shared the spicy pork spaghettoni - a must try. Overall a great spot and can't wait to revisit one day, I'm sure it will only continue to grow in popularity. read more

Adorable spot with a cozy relaxed vibe. Our server, Casey, did a wonderful job of pacing our experience. Attentive without being intrusive and very kind. I will be dreaming about that peach panzanella! Our fav of the night. The stuffed peppers were absolute perfection! The chicken Milanese was delish. Simple chicken cutlet topped with a rich, cool Caesar. Massive! The babka we barely had room for but it was 10/10! Fusilli was the only bust for us. Flavors all there but too salty to be edible. Went to OK Donna with my mom and had a good experience overall. It is definitely a very trendy spot in Charleston and I think the hype set expectations a bit high, but it was still enjoyable. Service was strong and very attentive, with the host checking in often. We sat on the back patio with heaters and it was packed for a Wednesday night. Atmosphere was fun and lively. Food was good but not great. The arugula salad was my favorite, and the lasagna was solid. My wife and I enjoyed our evening at Ok Donna downtown Charleston. The vibe is similar to a New York supper club with a laid-back casual atmosphere and simple design. Since the owner owns two bars including Bar George, we had to of course sample the cocktails. They are known for their dirt martinis and the one my wife ordered did not disappoint. In addition to the usual vodka and olive brine it also had Calabrian chili flakes and an orange oil. The chili flakes gave it a nice heat and my wife who loves dirty martinis rated it one of the best she has ever had! I ordered the Pool Negroni with gin, rum, coconut, mint and lime which gave me tropical notes (and a cute little umbrella). We started with the slice of pep which looked thick but was actually light and airy. I read a reviewer refer to it as a bread course and I must agree. Fresh and flavorful it was a great starter. Up next we tried the arugula potato chip salad which sounded really intriguing. The arugula was very fresh with just a nice light coating of dressing. The house mad potato chips truly did act as croutons providing a nice salty crunch factor to the salad. Then we enjoyed our absolutely favorite dish of the night with the rigatoni carbonara. A generous portion with a rich but not too rich sauce and lots of big chunks of bacon which to me seemed more like lardons. I am not a carbonara fan, but I greedily wolfed down my share of this great dish. Just a note that all dishes are served family style and are meant to be shared. We decided a second cocktail was in order, so my wife had to get another dirty martini, and I tried the Freezer which was their gin martini. It was smooth and cold and refreshing. For our final dish we ordered the chicken Milanese which is a breaded cutlet topped with a Caesar salad. The cutlet was huge and the salad fresh but in hindsight having already eaten a salad it was a lot. When you go, I would recommend ordering one or the other and not both. The service was outstanding with our water glasses always full and fresh plates brought with each course. I also appreciated how handicap accessible it was with dedicated parking, wide entrances and flat layout so no steps to overcome. Definitely worth a try but make reservations early! read more

Had a nice night out! The drinks are fantastic and the food was great. Is it better than any other Italian restaurant in Charleston? no. But they had some fun, unique options. Good service but seemed very rushed. It's an old building with an industrial feel in a bad neighborhood with limited parking. Much more casual than I expected. We had the chicken Milanese which was excellent except that the salad on top of the chicken came with a heavy creamy dressing. It would have been better if topped by the arugula salad and the lighter dressing that came with that salad. We also had the pasta carbonara which was decent and the meatballs which really were nothing special. Drinks / cocktails were good. Overall good experience but not at the top of my list. read more

So I've been here twice now. I am a huge fan of Bar George and the aesthetic that ok Donna is going for. I love the ambience inside, I like the music they play, I like the menu. The first time I came here, I had the arugula potato chip salad, a slice of pep, miso cabbage, and shrimp scampi. Of all of it, I have to say the cabbage and scampi were the best thing. I would return and order those things. The second time, I got the cacio y Pepe gnocchi and pork fusilli. I had to admit that it just wasn't that good. Moving forward I think I know what dishes to stick with and what to order here, because what I do like here is pretty damn good! But there are some things on the menu that are just eh. I will say the drinks here are PHENOMENAL and hats off to whoever made the drink menu. Also, my favorite thing about this place is the amount of cheese they add to everything: "excessive pecorino" is a quote from the menu. That is right up my alley! read more

i absolutely loved the atmosphere. great lighting and the music was really good. we sat outside and even with it being cold out, we were kept warm with the heaters. the service wasn't anything too special, nothing over the top that stood out to me, just regular. the salad was a good appetizer to have and the pasta was to die for. i could have 10 servings of that. for drinks, if you're looking for something sweet get the aperol and pineapple. if you're looking for savory, the dirty martini. overall, i loved this place. the pasta definitely makes me want to eat there again soon! read more

Wow. Just made a reservation. The decor and general vibes of this restaurant were so cool it felt like sitting in a mid century modern bar in Palm Springs. Wait staff was very nice and attentive. But most important the food was amazing. Dishes come out as they are made and everything is family style made for sharing. Everything was light and fresh, my husband voted this the best chicken Milanese he's had. Highly highly recommend. We were excited because we heard good things. This felt like a bar that serves some food. Maybe they were having an off night but everything seemed to have been reheated in a microwave. The meatballs were steaming hot on the outside, frozen spots on the inside. The lasagna was mushy and bland. The table next to us ordered the chicken Milanese and he leaned over to show us it was well, well done and looked dehydrated. He didn't eat it. The "good" news was everything came out fast. Very small portions and nothing served with them. A few of the appetizers were okay but overall we were unimpressed. They slammed down with the wooden walls and painted doors, chain link doorway entry, and a fake plant because they are not neglectful plant parents in a bathroom with no natural light. Worried about stank? Never fear. A flame lit candle at your service- and private room, stall-less. Thank god. There's just enough light to make you look good and bad at the same time.
