Patient portal is NOT working for new patients (vendor issue!?)--and I've received no response to my email to their tech "support." My request for previous records was still sitting, unsent, in Intercoastal's system more than a month after my first visit. I had to fill out the request forms again for them to process it. Doctors are fine. But communications related to patient health have been a nightmare for this group for some time.

Then proceeds to tell me in the note that who I spoke with put in there that they confirmed the date twice? And told me the text was to confirm. I told her I received a phone call not a text. She says it's a text. Okay whatever I know that I received the phone call because I was recorded and you have to much 1 to confirm your apt. When we got up after being called we where asked if we had the Covid-19 shot. We both said "No." The lady asked us to have a seat and wait. About 10 or 15 minutes went by before she called us back up. She took our temps and let us in. After waiting for Doctor Mayer he walked in without knocking. He asked my wife how she was feeling before asking her how old she was. He then questioned what she did for a living before raising his voice and stating "Why didn't you get the covid shot?" My wife said "I elected not too." He then turned to me asking have I been vaccinated. I told him no. He's crossed his arms and stood at the backside of the room. My wife replied " Nobody said it was requirement to be seen." Doctor Mayer responded with " Its not the office it's me! Some how you slipped through the. back door!?" At this point my wife was upset from being discriminated against and we informed him"Clearly you are uncomfortable and we are leaving now." The sad part is he will probably try to bill the insurance for this visit and write that this was refusing treatment. He was aware before we stepped back we didn't have shots and could have refused before we ever got back there. We did not feel comfortable with this individual conducting possible back surgery on my wife. As far as I'm concerned he failed as a doctor and a professional.

My review today is for the whole operation, and specifically the front office staff. Hopefully, this constructive criticism isn't lost, and somebody there pays attention to this review. I had an appointment for labs this morning, and when I arrived to check in, the girl informed me that their lab was closed (apparently there's only one person in the lab?), and that she would reschedule me for later this week. Normally, I'd be much more understanding - because things happen; I get it. But maxhealth sent me text reminders last week - and then the kicker was they sent another text reminder out this morning about my appointment...so for sure, it's on for today. It'd seem that if they can send a text reminder out the morning of my appointment - they should be able to send a text notification that the appointment has to be rescheduled at the last minute and sorry about the inconvenience. So, I rearrange my schedule for this appointment, and you waste my time? Then you reschedule me, and I have to again rearrange my schedule? That's frustrating, and it needs to be addressed. Maybe have the lab staffed with more people, or at the very least have someone cross-trained who can run the lab when this happens. My other observation is that the girl who told me about the cancellation and rescheduling never made eye contact. I'm not sure if this is a generational thing or what, but eye contact between two people conveys many things, including understanding, respect, and more importantly in your line of work - it conveys a sense of concern for the patient - which I did not get today. I've noticed that in previous visits over the years, but I usually overlook things. You all done messed up. Do better.
