TLDR: Good pizza at reasonable prices but the wait time is unreasonably long…read more Pretty solid pizza here. Fully customizable. I built my own white pizza with garlic butter herb sauce, fresh mozz, mushrooms, and Italian sausage. It was pretty tasty. I was STARVING so maybe that amplified the flavor. This brings me to my next point... Pizza takes FOREVER. I clocked it and it was a full hour from the moment we ordered. This was particularly unpleasant because I was waiting in the car with my two bored and hungry toddlers. If you have kids, you get it. Not ideal. By the way, we tried to call ahead and no one picked up the phone (we tried a couple times). I should also add that the prices are very reasonable here. The kids menu pizzas are very cheap and more than enough food to fill them up.

Who knew Bastrop, Texas, would have some of the best pizza and pasta I've had in a long time?…read more I'm in town for a six-week work assignment and decided to try Bastiano's for takeout. All I can say is wow. I ordered the creamy garlic pasta with chicken, spinach, bacon, and onions, along with a supreme pizza, and both were outstanding. The pasta was rich, creamy, and packed with flavor without being overly heavy. The chicken was tender, the bacon added the perfect savory bite, and the spinach and onions balanced everything beautifully. Then there was the pizza. This wasn't one of those pizzas where you have to hunt for toppings. Every slice was loaded with pepperoni, ham, sausage, olives, mushrooms, and vegetables. The crust had a great texture, the cheese was perfectly melted, and every bite was packed with flavor. One of the best parts is the value. The portions were generous enough that this takeout order will easily feed me for several days, which makes the quality even more impressive. As someone who wasn't expecting to discover amazing Italian food in Bastrop, Bastiano's was a pleasant surprise. If you're local or just passing through town, do yourself a favor and give them a try. I'll definitely be ordering again before my assignment is over.

I have been here twice this week. It is under new ownership, and I met the owner when I went in on…read moreSunday. He was really nice and welcoming, and he really wants to turn this coffee shop around. I had been here before when it was owned by someone else, and the coffee was alright then, but both Sunday and today's coffees were amazing. I ordered a gingerbread latte on Sunday, and today it was a caramel latte, and both were the right amount of sweet without it overpowering the coffee. Under the previous owners, I couldn't really taste the flavor too well, just sweet coffee. I also bought a blueberry muffin both times, and I highly recommend them. I will definitely be going back!

Local Bastropian here. Before I start this review, I'm not…read moresure Coffee Dog deserves an objective 5 star review, but I have found the recent renovations, coffee roasts, and overall management to be a huge step up from before. I love a good light roast coffee. They have the most fun notes, flavors, caffeine. Needless to say, I've struggled with the options in Bastrop for a while... Tracy's sources a two solid medium roasts from Progress that's decently fun and flavorful... Texas Coffee Works hasn't really blown my socks of yet either... All that to be said, I'm still on the hunt for the best local Light roast. To my surprise (previous owner's coffee was not it...) Coffee Dog recently started selling a really good "Zombie Defense Serum" roast (dorky, kina funny name, but with an unfortunate AI art generated sticker)... It's delicious! Has a good acidity, it's fairly bright, and there's some fun notes in it. I wish I knew what day it was roasted (the 2 week carbon release rule), but I do think it was fresh and hadn't had the chance to release all of its carbon. I'd be interested to see what it tastes like in peak form. Give the ole Zombie Serum a try and support local. Even if they use AI art for their coffee bag designs...

WHEN: Wed @6pm I…read morejust need to begin this review by highlighting how amazing Ian was to my party. He's mindful, kind, attentive, and gave us such a stellar service! We made reservations here because we were staying here for the week. Our party of 5 adults and 2 toddlers were originally seated at the center of the room, and I asked if we could be moved to the booth where we can feel more close and not so separated. The dining table felt too formal and we like to sit closely...especially with children you'll want a booth. Anyway, point being, the staff was so kind of patient to allow us to move and I hope I wasn't being difficult doing this, but it made all the difference during our time here. A lot of things were ordered, and they even have a set menu for kids for $28: + Fruit with Coconut Yogurt - Kids may be disappointed as it looks like whipped cream but it tastes like tart yogurt. + Entree of either CHicken, Petit Filet, or Grilled Salmon + Dessert - Create your own dirt cup which can be fun for the kids. Here's some of the things I tried: ESPRESSO MARTINI - $18 Sweet and strong, you only need one! As for food, I lost my photos, and I had a taste of variety. I'm so sorry. This is not a thorough review, but all I can say quickly is: + They have complimentary warm bread and butter. + This place will serve the finest and freshest fish because of thier partnership with thier Sushi establishment. So try the ahi tuna. + Filet minion is pretty darn good + Bisque was sweet and creamy. + We were treated with a single portion of Beff Wellington and Cranberry sipping and it was so lovely. + Have I mentioned how amazing the service is? + They validate your parking if you came to park in the lot (this was helpful for friends who didn't stay with us at the resort) You'll have a wonderful time no matter what you order. I can't recommend this place enough during your stay.

Stopped in during a recent business trip…read more First let me say that the decor is very nice, I enjoy the open kitchen and the view and sounds of the chefs preparing each meal. I started my meal with the Seared Scallops, which were perfectly prepared and tasted amazing. The entire plate was a work of art and since I enjoy a well plated meal first, this one hit right on the money. For my main I enjoyed the South Texas Antelope Tenderloin. Any chance I have to sample a local dish I take it and this one delivered massively. I highly recommend trying this dish if you visit. I also had the chance to try the Seared Ahi Tuna, as our mains were taking a bit longer than expected and the chef personally delivered us a couple apology dishes. I appreciate a chef who can acknowledge an issue and do his best to fix it, so this was nice to see. The wait staff was very attentive and friendly and took great care of me and my party. Seeing the chef come out to the table to speak to us was a big deal to me. All in all I was very happy with my visit here and will certainly return if I ever get the chance to stay here again. It is kind of hidden, so you sort of need to go look for it, but it's certainly something you don't want to miss. Highly recommend checking this place out.
