We came in as a big party today. We brought in cupcakes which were not allowed. We completely understood. 16 people ordered lunch. When it was time to leave we asked for napkins so we could distribute the cupcakes outside of the restaurant. Our waitress came back with napkins from the bathroom. Wouldn't that be a health code violation? Not to mention insulting. Since we were a large party the 20% gratuity was already added into the bill. She asked if I wanted to add more tip to the bill. The cutest spot! Sitting outdoors made me feel I was in a fairy garden. Amazing surroundings. Plenty of seating inside and out, but you can definitely tell this place gets packed fast and early. The server was very sweet. She even waited to bring our ice cream so it didn't melt, while we shopped around on the inside. A grilled cheese & tomato soup is my go-to on a menu and I think about this heavenly toasted cheese sandwich so often enough, it makes me sad to not be close enough to eat it again anytime soon. Very cute little spot! They require a reservation on weekends which wasn't stated on the website but they made an exception and could fit us in. The appetizers were good but I felt like they were a little pricey for what you got (we had the cheese toasts and the caprese). This is a MUST visit if you're in the Pinetop area for lunch! They have the cutest, fully shaded patio and a large menu full of tasty items for all. My kiddos love this spot too and to top it off, their patio is dog friendly! I love their turkey sandwich that has green chilis on it and their prickly pear iced tea. This place needs to get its stuff together. We waited 1/2 hour for ice tea and then more time just to get water. After ordering salads and a couple of grilled cheese sandwiches we received no info no service for over an hour. The salad had little chicken chunks and was a small portion for $15! Yep, waited an hour for a small cheap salad. Famous grilled cheese?? Cold grilled cheese is not yummy. Had to look close to see where the cheese was and a small soup for $15. Spoke to the manager who gave the impression of who cares. This is our second time at The Bistro. Such a cute house with interesting decor. The menu has some unique choices. We were excited to go, but tonight was an off night. The special appetizer lobster puffs was so salty we didn't even finished the small bites. My dinner, the portobello dinner had a strange smell to the sauce on the mushrooms, and my boyfriend's dinner was overcooked. To him seared tuna means there is pink on the inside. We popped into Annie's for lunch after seeing the sign and remembering they had good reviews. This is a quaint little bistro with a forest garden type setting. It was a gorgeous day so we sat outside on the patio surrounded by the flowers. I got the ham and cheese panini with homemade chips and my mom got the turkey bacon ranch panini also with chips but sans avocado. Trevor, our server, was nice and attentive. He was great! The lady who seated wasn't very warm or inviting but the rest of the staff was. Even though it was very busy the staff kept their cool and the surroundings made it feel serene and calm despite the lunch rush. The food was good though my mom did say that half her sandwich didn't have bacon on it. We checked out the little store that's inside and it was cute and had some nice unique items inside. One thing to note is that because the seating here is outside you will be seated in proximity to the spiderwebs that cover the outside of the building and are draped among some of the plants. This keeps the other pests in line (we weren't bothered by any flying insects during our time there) but can freak some folks out so just be aware of it before going. read more
