His work plus mercury fillings and a hit and run car accident in my late 50's meant that I had visited and worked with many top specialists in Atlanta and other states. I was offered and helped by splints, TMJ massage, chiropractic, physical therapy, cranial work, balloon work, osteopathic sessions, Atlas orthogonal and more, much paid on a cash basis because my condition was not considered to be real by insurance standards. Each helped. One day my biologic dentist asked how I ate and talked and worked. My response was painfully. He continued to say that my bite was very bad and would cause many problems with ageing. He did not recommend a bridge or implants at that time--he recommended Dr. Sanjay Patel in Marietta. I said no, I was done, cried in the car, and called Dr. Patel. Becky Sue , the office manager spent so much time answering questions and quelling doubts She was honest, thorough, smart and no pressure. I agreed to a consultation. Dr. Patel was honest, thorough, and smart TOO! He shared a 2-3 year plan after a CAT scan and much education about my condition. He knew this was a big commitment and he encouraged me to think about it and write down all questions. We discussed expanding my palate with a device to allow the teeth to fit into a bite best to talking and chewing and living. Never had I understood why I could not swallow capsules, headaches were daily and what might create a permanent fix. Over the 2 years of jaw expansion and braces Dr. Patel maintained empathy, always took time to explain and adjust and fit me in when needed. Becky Sue and Maggie were encouraging, kind, knowledgeable, and great at follow up. My Jaw is expanded 8 mm, the braces are off and I am in a splint working to modify decades of muscle memory and fascia thru massage and Pt. Dr. Patel never sugar coated the journey, knowing the decades and damage. He promised support, expertise, and being present. I am grateful for the education and care I have received at this office. I never dreamed that I could have a healthy bite. This for me was not about cosmetics. This was about being able to ear and talk without pain and work and think more productively while also improving the posture of my whole body. I will write a follow up after this phase. My biologic dentist, TMJ therapist, and more have seen huge changes in such a positive way. I have not been back to my osteopath yet--I am so grateful for the day he said, : Barb, you hold for 48 hours and then your jaw undoes everything--come back when it is fixed and better. Dr.Babo is so knowledgeable and they conducted the most comprehensive review of my teeth that I have ever had. They have the highest technology in the dental field and they really look to improve the health, look and maintenance of your teeth. I went for my first cleaning in two years and had planned to get invisilign through an orthodontist. However, to my surprise, Dr.Babo also does cosmetic dentistry and I was able to hit two birds with one stone. She explains the process clearly and is available with any questions. The staff confirmed multiple times that if I paid this full amount upfront, I would not have any additional expenses. They even had me sign a document stating that my total patient responsibility was $440. Despite this, the front desk repeatedly gave me inconsistent billing information during my visit. Still, I trusted their final calculation and paid the amount they said was the complete balance. Months later, I received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from my insurance company showing that they paid more than expected to the dental office. Yet, five months after my visit, I was suddenly contacted and told that I now owe an additional $245.21. This is incredibly frustrating and feels extremely unprofessional. Being told one amount, paying in full, signing documentation, and then being asked for more money months later is unacceptable. I am very disappointed with the service and the lack of transparency from this office.

I cannot recommend this dental practice. My first visit was a cleaning, and everything was fine…read moreuntil Dr. Kearns came back and told me I had three cavities. This was surprising to me as I have been receiving dental care every 6 months for my whole life and haven't had a cavity in 10+ years. My prior dentist was in my hometown and someone I had been going to since childhood and was very familiar with my teeth. Because we had a good relationship with this dentist, my mom even asked them what they thought and they warned that I should get a second opinion. However, I was scared of having cavities, so went ahead with the fillings on Dr. Kearns recommendation ($400+ out of pocket for a college student). I was also told to buy an expensive specialty toothpaste in the office that retailed for half the price on Amazon. Over the next several months, I had horrific, constant dental pain where the fillings were. I couldn't eat anything on one side of my mouth for months. After about two weeks of pain, I went in for a revision, which did not help. Only now 6 months later I am starting to be able to eat on the other side of my mouth. I should note that I had no dental pain in this region before despite the diagnosis of three cavities. I should have switched after this, but had scheduled a 6 month cleaning immediately after my first appointment which crept up on me, so decided to just go in and do the cleaning. When I arrived, the front desk told me I had a balance of $170 that they were about to send to collections. I had not received a single text, email, or physical mail notifying me of my balance. I was able to pay this balance, but knowing that they were happy to send this to collections and potentially impact my credit score without any notification is a disgrace. The cleaning itself was fine, but my hygienist told me Dr. Kearns was very busy and when she came to check me out she barely spoke a word to me, only rattling off dental jargon to the hygienist. I will not be returning to Intown Dental Center. I have never had anxiety related to the dentist until now. The poor bedside manner, weaponization of authority to overprescribe procedures/sell you things you don't need, shoddy fillings, and lack of billing transparency all made this a horrible experience.

Sadly he retired, and sadly I faced some terrible life journeys. That's where Dr. Sarabess comes in, she came recommended from someone. Upon entering the office I was greeted warmly. When we took xrays and came up with a plan of affirmative action that's when the real work took off. Not only did she comment to me that she just waanted to see me smile. She wanted me to have the confidence to smile. I have hidden my smile for years from coworkers, to friends and even my family. She is the Michel Angelo of teeth, she took the time to read my X-ray. She told me that she would do her absolute best not to do a root canal, though it may have to happen. Here I am six teeth later with no root canals yet. Let's hope there isn't a need for them. It goes to show her conservative nature in her field and how seriously she takes her work. She could have easily taken an easier route, and not sculpted and molded my teeth. She choose to take her time, to rebuild my smile, and my confidence. The decor has that kitsch/knick-knack feel that only grandmothers know how to create. The doctor is very sweet and very talkative. I found the dentist to be quite cooky... in an uncomfortable way. Nice... but cooky. For example.. my wife was sitting in the waiting room while I was finishing up and Dr. Hopper came out and wrapped a blanked around her. The waiting room was cold... but that's weird. My wife and I both had our x-rays and teeth cleaned/examined. We both agree that the x-rays here were the most painful ever experienced. They have these huge bite wings that are painful to fit in your mouth and you have to go through about 20 of them. It was awful. The examination was fine I thought. I thought the nurse was nice. Howerver, my wife thought the cleaning was also painful but I think it was because her mouth was still so sore from the x-rays. All and all this was not a great experience. The bill at the end was also higher than I hoped. The dentist was nice but the whole place seemed kind of dated. Don't get me wrong! I don't like the feeling that I am paying my dentist so he can get plasma screen TVs in every room.... but this place feels a bit TOO dated. (like I might not be getting the best care dated) However, Dr. Hopper did call a few days later to make sure our insurance went through okay since it was our first visit. Very considerate.
