Further communication to proceed with the service was extremely unprofessional: messages sent with typos and all caps; basic information requested, given, and then overlooked and requested again; delayed and incomplete follow up regarding contract paperwork. Not believing they could execute my move with professionalism and not having signed or paid anything, I took my business elsewhere. For a company charging a premium for a local move, this level of service is unacceptable.

They missed a shelving unit, I had to call the driver back and he argued with me that nothing was left. I had to text him a photo, including the moving sticker. He didn't return to get it until almost midnight. When my belongings were offloaded in Nevada, I discovered a lot of missing property and a lot of what I did receive was damaged. I'm still in contention with NAVL over the insurance claim. Among the MANY items not returned was a 60" TV and brand new hand truck. The damage was excessive and not a single piece of furniture that was taken was returned in its entirety. I'm left with misc pieces of useless junk. Horrible, expensive experience. My fiance and I moved out of a one bedroom DTLB apartment into a two story townhome. We had already moved most of the boxes beforehand and wanted to find a fast moving service so we could save some time and money. We came across 55Moving and honestly was a bit skeptical since many of the reviews claim that they are slow, unprofessional, and shows up late. We were 100% wrong about them. Anthony & Sergio arrived exactly at 8am and were able to load our 7 furniture pieces (one of them being a giant 3 piece sectional sofa) just within the first hour! They were even able to take some smaller objects we skipped out on as well. We live on the 5th floor so we expected far less when it came to time efficiency but they we able to move everything out quickly and without a scratch. They were extremely efficient and by 11am (3hour minimum service) we had everything in our new home! Most importantly, they had no hidden fees and their total came up to be exactly as promised over the initial phone call. We are so happy we went with 55Moving and extremely thankful that Sergio and Anthony showed up to help us move into our new home. You guys rock!!

Over the phone, I was told by the owner that it would cost $175 total and that this cost "includes everything." In the end, it actually cost us $300+ for 2.5 hours because of a "4.75% service fee" that no one could explain to us what it meant or how it was calculated. This time around I got movers who didn't get along and moved very slowly. One of the movers kept complaining about having to carry stuff and he kept huffing and puffing when a box had to be carried upstairs.... which by the way, we had to pay extra for. Also, be careful and keep an eye on your furniture. They ended up losing my brand new outdoor patio bench that retails over $600+. When they took it out of the storage unit, they placed it in a random hallway by the elevator, and forgot to load it up in the truck. Unfortunately the cleaners at the storage facility saw it as a lost item and tossed it in the trash. When I contacted the movers about this lost item, they said "I can't say I remember." (Screenshot attached) I have security footage from the storage facility showing that the movers left it in the hallway and the bench got thrown in the trash. It was a huge disappointment because I had to buy a new one. The only positive thing about this experience was that the younger guy of the two movers assembled my bed frame for me. In conclusion, it's not $55 an hour. Lots of hidden fees and the movers you get are a hit or miss. Some guys are great and helpful, while others not so much. I'd look elsewhere.

The experience with Orange County Movers was nothing short of horrendous. When calling to book my appointment, I mentioned the Yelp deal (likely still up) and was told that I should mention it to the driver before paying and that I would receive the discount. I was also told that I would receive a discount for using cash (hmm...wonder why? Don't like taxes much, huh?) I also am pretty sure they said a two hour minimum not 3, like they ended up charging me for. I was called about an hour before my scheduled window and was told that I could either have the driver come right now or I was going to have to deal with them being late. I told them that we had planned for this time and we're not ready so had to wait (whatever, moving is annoying enough, if this were the only issue I would be fine). When the driver called to let me know he was on his way, he tried to sell me on hiring a third mover for my small apartment...obviously didn't want to, but again, fine whatever- no thanks. The move went fine and we got to my new place but when I went to pay and mentioned the deal, I was told that the mover would have to call the owner to ask. He comes back and says that the owner, Andy, said he would not be willing to honor the deal because I didn't purchase it (24 hours before-offered to purchase on the spot) even though I was told clearly, to just mention it at check-out. I asked to speak with the owner and he got on the phone and started screaming and yelling at me and refused to honor the deal. He then started threatening me by saying "you don't know who you are messing with...you don't know me." Excuse me??? How unprofessional and frankly ILLEGAL. I should have just called the police right then but decided it was a small discount anyways and I would just pay and have them out. The next day when my cable guy came to set up the tv, and turned it on- we noticed the huge crack internally in the screen (pictured). It didn't have that before and it was clearly broken by them in the move. I called over again and was yelled at AGAIN and hung up on. I was told that because I didn't notice it while they were there (obviously since it's an internal crack and the tv was off) that I would have no luck with them. After calling back again, I was told to email a picture, which obviously received ZERO response. The TV is an extremely nice and expensive 60 inch Sharp tv, and it's beyond disgusting that I should have to take care of damage that was done by them. It's beyond a shame that they behave this way, the drivers themselves were actually really great (besides the obvious accident) and I feel sorry for them that they work for an abusive owner. This review will not be updated or edited unless and until I receive a response and payment in return for the damages. I will also be contacting the BBB, Rip Off Report, etc. AND have already discussed this with my legal team and we are prepared. This needs to be made right. It is theft and the threats are beyond illegal and unprofessional. FIND ANOTHER COMPANY!!! I wish I could give a negative star review, rather than 1.
