I really enjoyed this barbecue spot. For a little place it packs a lot of flavor. For $23 I got a three meat combo, tri tip, hot links, and pork ribs. I was surprised at the amount of meat, but the sides were pretty small. I also enjoy the garlic bread that comes with the combo. My favorite part was the barbecue sauce that comes on the side. The hot one packed a little punch. I live in Port Hueneme but will be making the drive more often to enjoy the Best BBQ. read more

I've been meaning to try this place out for some time and finally did. It's very popular and they have a small parking lot which is not great to use when the place is crowded. They do have tables for outdoor dining, but forget it when they are busy. You are better off doing take out. As for the food, I was actually a little disappointed. Their bbq is okay, but I've certainly had much better elsewhere. I ordered the chicken dinner which goes for $12.00. Best BBQ is hands down delicious! All of their meats are consistently tender and juicy. The BBQ sauce has great flavor and pairs well with all meats. The sauce is offered in mild, hot or 1/2 & 1/2 for a heat level to suit everyone. The staff are always friendly and non-stop moving to get orders out. There are peak times that you may have to wait a little longer for your order. They are popular with great food so it makes sense. However you can order online or phone ahead to avoid extended wait times for order preparation. The only reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is regardless of time of day we come to eat the tables are always dirty and not wiped down. They have a couple of tables inside and a patio with tables also. When we try to find somewhere to sit there's always dirty tables. Tables are usually littered with previous patrons leftover food pieces, crumbs, sauce etc. all over the table it's very unappetizing. I understand everyone is short staffed and it is difficult. However we were closed down previously without dine in service at one point. When things opened back up there were strict protocols to disinfection etc. I know that time has passed and people have relaxed more. However cleaning and disinfection is still imperative. read more

I'm not one to complain, but dam their customer service is non-existent! I went in yesterday and ordered a tri-tip and chicken bowl, and found a bee in my food. I went in the next day to show them, and have my food remade, and not once did they acknowledge their mistake or apologize for the bad food quality. Not only was it my first time there, but my last! They need a manager or customer service training for the two young kids running the front counter. It won't kill you to say "Sorry for the inconvenience." They're going to lose revenue from customer retention, and it's disappointing, because I like to see family owned businesses thrive. Maaaaan Santa Paula is coming up on the food scene. And this place is no different. I had the pork ribs and tri-tip combo with chili beans. I gave the husband the macaroni and potato salad (I don't like mayo). I opted for the hot sauce despite the warning from the guy saying the hot sauce was really hot. I sweated a little but it was worth it. The flavor was reeeeally good. To get as much of a full experience as we could between the two of us, we also ordered a rice and beans bowl with chicken and tri tip with baked beans and mild sauce. The chili beans are where it's at (in my forceful opinion lol). The baked beans and mild sauce were good but too sweet for me. The hubby liked it though. The hot sauce is worth the sweat if you are so inclined. Might make you sweat in your eyebrows a little but - again - worth it. We will definitely be back. Now this makes 3 awesome food spots in Santa Paula that are definitely worth the drive from Cam. Also - there's beer. So yah. Beer and BBQ is a pretty epic combo if you ask me. To their credit, the baked beans and bbq sauce were very good, but the pork ribs were dry and stringy, and the coleslaw was old and runny, the cabbage soggy. Take a bite without bbq sauce and immediately regret it (no flavor or salt). I try the regular bbq sauce and it's very watered down. I try the hot it's watery and it's super spicy. Stopped here for sandwiches based on the reviews. Small parking lot and the place gets popular so we had to park down the street instead. Small lobby and quite a few people waiting for food but they were able to take our order quickly. It did take a while for our food to be ready, but I guess it's not surprising with how popular they are. I said I didn't want any sauce on my sandwich, but I didn't realize it would come on the side by default. Without sauce my sandwich was a tad dry (of course) but I was worried their BBQ would be too spicy for me. Hubby shared his mild sauce with me and it was actually really good. I used a tiny amount so my sensitive taste buds wouldn't get overwhelmed. Presentation was very unglamorous (meat on bread put in a styrofoam container) and the sides were so small they were almost miniature (also we ordered 4 total sides and only were given 3 but didn't realize it until we were already in the car so we didn't go back). Actually the sides were more like the right size to pour them onto your sandwich. I don't think this is the kind of place where you could get like, a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, pickles or whatever. It's just BBQ but they have bread if you want to order it as a sandwich. But that said, everything tasted GREAT. Great flavor, perfectly prepared and if you're sensitive to spicy food definitely still order the sauce because it comes on the side and you can do it however you want it.
