The food was amazing, loved my turkey club. My husband got "The summit" burger that he always enjoys (the classic). My little ones enjoyed and shared a large chicken tenders basket, great portion size. The Italian sodas, any flavor a hit ! Not happy with the service, the only reason I will hesitate to go back, very unfortunate.

Stopped in for our favorite milk shake on a sunny California day. Always a nice stop while out and about.

Ask the Community - The Summit Drive-In

Do they offer a vegan burger like a Beyond burger or any other vegan options?

The Summit offers a vegetarian burger option, don't know what brand it is. The corn burritos are great, and made with vegetarian refried beans.

If you know anything about Gunsmoke BBQ and Beer in Santa Paula, you know their barbecue already…read morehas a solid reputation....but finally making it into their restaurant just confirmed everything I'd been hearing. I've had the chance to try their BBQ at local events around Ventura County, and it always left an impression. They make some darn good BBQ. BUT for this visit we ended up highlighting something just as exciting...their vegetarian options! It definitely says a lot when a barbecue place has great non meat options. I came with my friend Raquel (yelp elite) for lunch and we went all in on their vegetarian plates...well with one exception, we ordered the deviled eggs too. Let's start there: Their famous Candied Bacon Deviled Eggs are a must. Creamy, flavorful filling, lightly battered egg, topped with crispy bacon...yeah, they're as good as they sound. 10/10. Now for the vegetarian standouts: The Fried Avocado Bites were simple but done so right. Perfectly fried and paired with house made sauces that really brought everything together. Super shareable and perfect as a starter. 10/10. The Cauliflower Tacos were a reminder that you absolutely do NOT need meat for a great taco. These were hearty and loaded with (again) incredible sauces. My friend was obsessed and I get why. They were good, but I would prefer a meat protein taco at a spot like this. 7/10 for me. Beyond the food, the experience really shines here. The space has this perfect mix of country charm and rock n roll edge which is such a fun vibe. Service was top notch, and we love when owners are present and genuinely care. They stopped by to check in, which always makes a place feel extra special. And shoutout to our server Bentley, an absolute sweetheart. Next time you're in Santa Paula, do yourself a favor and check them out.

Gunsmoke is located in Downtown Santa Paula. I didn't pay close attention but I don't believe they have private parking. If you don't know SP, there is street parking and some parking lots. I would be mindful when you are planning to come for parking. I came with a friend midday so there was plenty of parking and seats as well so we got seated right away. I was happy to see the non meat options they have available. I was a bit bummed out they didn't have their hummus but it's just another excuse for me to go back. I did end up getting their cauliflower tacos. My friend got their avocado fries and their devil eggs. I had never had devil eggs, and tried those and were so good. I wanted more but I had already had all my tacos. I did appreciate the owner coming to greet us and finding out I was pescatarian. He was nice, mentioned that even though they are a BBQ spot, they still want to value those customers that don't eat, and asked if there's anything I think of to let him know to see if they can add it to the menu. Really appreciated that. Overall, bummed out I wasn't able to try their BBQ. The options I did try were all really good. I would come back.

As far as lunch is concerned- I feel disappointed. There was a picture of the fish tacos on yelp that looked good, so I decided to try them for lunch. It was not at all what was pictured. The fish was so so so dry, large clumps of american cheddar and just not any good flavor. Plus- they were $19. For a $19 quick lunch-I just want to enjoy my meal. I have had better fish tacos at Foster's Freeze, to be honest. I dont imagine myself coming here for lunch again.

I finally had the chance to eat here after I had some business cards printed. What really stood out to me when I first walked in was the cozy atmosphere and the personal greeting you get from the staff. You could tell this is the kind of place where the staff takes pride in what they do. I ordered a burger with a salad and root beer. I always pay with cash for my meals and I was told I got a discount that day for paying with cash. In all honesty, I believe they deserve every penny with a tip on top of that. My burger had a nice mix of melted cheese and mushrooms and my salad had feta and a side of balsamic vinegar, my favorite. As I ate I had over heard another customer ask about David's well-being. The customer had mentioned that he was a compassionate man who had given them a hand in the past and had cooked for them when they were going through their own struggle. They said he had asked, "what would the people like in this community to eat?" Just by hearing this account, I knew this place was made by a righteous man of character. Character that may seem has disappeared in the world, but David was proof it still exists. I did not have the honor to meet David, but I did have the honor to eat at his restaurant. He was definitely loved and will be missed by the community. Thank you chef for serving the good people of Santa Paula!

It's become my go-to spot to relax, unwind, and spend quality time with great friends. One of the things that keeps my wife and me coming back is the outstanding hospitality. The entire staff, including owner Greg, always goes above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome. They're friendly, respectful, attentive, and genuinely make you feel like part of the family. In all the years we've been coming here, we've never had a bad experience. This past Saturday, my wife and I stopped in for lunch because we were craving something different. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich "wet," covered in their homemade buffalo sauce with bacon and lettuce. You can customize it with cheese, tomato, or any toppings you like. It came with a generous serving of perfectly crispy fries that paired perfectly with the sandwich. My wife ordered the wings and chose half traditional buffalo and half garlic lemon pepper. They were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Her meal came with celery, carrots, ranch, extra buffalo sauce, ketchup, and she couldn't resist adding an order of their delicious fries as well. The food arrived quickly, was fresh, hot, and absolutely delicious. The portions were generous, the prices were very reasonable, and, as always, we had an amazing time. Whether you're looking to grab an ice-cold beer, catch the big game, enjoy a great meal, or simply relax in a welcoming sports bar atmosphere, I highly recommend The Draft. Great people, great food, great service, and an all-around fantastic place that never disappoints.

B&J's menu proudly proclaims their corn burritos as "#1 in Ventura County," which is presumably the result of winning some VC Reporter "best of Ventura" reader poll. An order of four corn burritos costs $7.49. They took about 25 minutes to prepare. They are larger in girth than the Fosters Freeze corn burritos, and thus hold more refried beans. Their red sauce is spicy and distinctive with just a little more vinegar than I would consider optimal. Bare bones presentation with sauce and grated cheese and nothing else. Nice paper container (not styrofoam). See pictures. The chocolate shake was also well made and satisfying. This beloved local institution has been here for a couple generations. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. We ordered 4 basic cheeseburgers, small fries, and only 2 drinks, and the total came to $67. For what we received, that price felt incredibly high, especially compared to other burger places nearby. The burgers looked great with all the fresh toppings and vegetables, but the flavor just wasn't there. They were big and visually appealing, yet surprisingly bland. It felt like a lot of ingredients piled together without much seasoning or taste to make the burger stand out. The one bright spot was the customer service. The staff was friendly, helpful, and genuinely sweet throughout our visit, which I really appreciated. Overall, I was shocked and disappointed. I don't mind spending $67 if the food is worth it, but in this case, it simply wasn't. The desserts and ice cream are still 5-star quality, but based on this experience, the burgers were mediocre, flavorless, and way too expensive for what they were.
