My wife surprised me with an overnight staycation at Best Bet Motor Lodge. It was the perfect way to relax and unwind with all the stress I've had at work lately. We were taken care of from the moment we checked in. With chocolates and wine, we watched movies in our room, did a diy spa night and spent lots of time reading in the sauna. Best Bet is also centrally located so we were able to walk to breakfast/coffee in the morning. We enjoyed our time here so much that we already have another stay planned for the spring. We had such a wonderful time! I have been wanted to stay here since they opened but as a Reno local I can't always justify a hotel stay in the town I live in but my husband and I wanted a little staycation to relax a little after a couple of very stressful months and honestly, there is no better place! We were able to just relax and enjoy each others company while sipping wine and eating chocolate and then, when we got board we went to the sauna. In the morning, we walked to a coffee shop and just took our time. Now we are talking about doing this twice a year as a way to just reset! Can't wait for our return! read more

Love this boutique hotel. Customer service is amazing. The place was immaculate and the location is perfect. It is walking distance to a bunch of restaurants. There is parking for $10/night. Amenities were great to include the coffee that was local and good. There's a kettle in the room and all you have to do is heat it up and pour over the coffee bag. I highly recommend this hotel. Stayed here about a year ago when they first opened and had some really good deals. It was a great stay-cation, and I'm even better if you're from out of town! You cannot beat the location, easy walking distance to tons of great bars and restaurants. The room was absolutely adorable, with so many great details. It was clean and comfortable. I love their outdoor hang-out area as well. When I stayed they did not have the sauna, but their website says it's up and running! I wish they had a hot tub as well, but that's by no means a deal-breaker. read more

My husband and I recently had the chance to do a staycation at Best Bet, and they did such an amazing job renovating this place. {Disclosure: I was invited to stay free of charge, but this opinion is my own.} We stayed in a King Suite (Room 1). It's incredibly spacious, like a studio apartment. With the convenient dining nook, I can see this being great for a remote working who is visiting Reno. Oh and the bed was insanely comfortable. I want the mattress for my own home. Staff was super kind and the location in midtown is really unmatched when it comes to access to all the best places in easy walking distance. And it's also a great option if you're not into the casino scene and want a hotel with character. My only recommendation is that you should ask for a room at the second floor. While the street noise is unavoidable (you're in the heart of the city after all!), you can hear footsteps in the room above you, so if you're a light sleeper, you'll want to be on the second floor. read more

Obsessed with the remodel at best bet! My friend got married a couple weekends ago and I was a bridesmaid in the wedding. My friend had booked a couple nights stay at best bet. The first night was her and her sister, and then they had two rooms the day of the wedding for all the girls to get ready in. The night of the wedding she stayed with her new husband. And it was a totally fabulous time! I was only there for the day of getting ready but the property is gorgeous. The front desk is very impressive. It is styled well and feels and smells great. The outdoor patio is nice and even offers some general seating. The fence is great. It all flows together well. The rooms have all been obviously renovated and are beautiful. Very spacious with fun wallpapers. Nice beds and big bathrooms. We were all very impressed!! When we left to go get my friend married we realized we forgot the brides jacket in the room. We didn't have time to go back and I called best bet and asked if they could go in our (very messy room from 12 girls getting ready all morning) and try to find this jacket for us. The employee did find it and sent it off with the brides godfather who also happened to have a room there. It all worked out! And that was just one case of great service. All the employees were great throughout the whole weekend. I would definitely recommend best bet! read more

Had an unimpeachable stay at Best Bet Motor Lodge. There's no question I'll be back. Check-in couldn't be more convenient--they simply send you a door code before arrival, and you're in, zero hassle. The room wasn't just well-designed, it was beautifully designed, which at this price point is almost unheard of. The attention to detail--the wall paper print, the pendants over the night stands, the texture of the rug and the pouf--elevated the experience far beyond that of a motor lodge. And lastly, the location is unbeatable. You're just a couple blocks from some fantastic spots: Perenn Bakery (amazing pastries and coffee), Coffee Bar, Royce, and Dopo for pizza and pasta. This is such a lovely, truly pet-friendly hotel! I had to make a very last-minute reservation after being denied at the original hotel I booked, even though I had informed them in advance that I was traveling with my cat. Best Bet Motor Lodge was incredibly accommodating, and we absolutely loved the room we stayed in. It was beautifully decorated in a boutique style and had all the amenities we needed. The name Best Bet is no misnomer. I frequent the Reno/Tahoe area and have spent nights at every comparable hotel- Best Bet is now my regular stay. From amenities to hospitality no detail is missed. Casinos are minutes away and you're spared the downtown grit. Midtown offers the best food for two hundred miles. This review has been a long time coming (sorry Piper). This was our second year with our large (and rowdy) group taking over the entire motor lodge. Not only is every member of her phenomenal team a professional, they are in lockstep with the owner, Piper. Piper is a dream to work with when it comes to working out the details involved with fitting our group in. The rooms are so cute and perfectly decked out with everything one would need, even informative labels and instructions for certain things. They always had the best coffee down in the reception area in the morning and were so helpful with making us feel at home. Our annual trip to Reno would not be the same without the Best Bet Motor Lodge - it is truly a diamond in the rough when it comes to lodging. Did I mention they have a sauna!? The woman in the office was so nice and eager to please. She helped us bring our luggage into the room! That was a first! And gave me a huge bucket of ice! We stayed in room 7 which had a queen bed looked very nice. Unique modern decor. Good sized flat screen tv. Beautiful tile in the shower. Decent counter space by the sink. Big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash and two terry robes were provided. There were soft drinks and snacks available for purchase in the room. Plus the office had a bar where you could sit and have a drink. And a small gift shop. Everything was very clean. A few odd things. The floor was concrete rather than carpet or wood, but at least it looked polished. I had the feeling they removed carpet and never replaced it giving it an unfinished look. Only a rug at the foot of the bed. The bathroom door had glass in it as did the back wall of the shower which faced the bed. Even though you really could only see blurred images through the glass, I felt uncomfortably exposed. And if the light was on in the bathroom it went right through the glass wall and landed on the bed. When I had to get up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night I was afraid the light would wake up my husband. It looked so nice but not practical. Maybe they should put a drape there which you could open and close as needed. And something on the bathroom door, too? read more

We rented Best Bet for a large bachelor party. It was perfect. The location is extremely convenient. Within walking distance of great food, coffee, bars, and a quick drive to the casinos. The rooms are nicely renovated, very comfy, and cute (especially the suites). I also loved the sauna, which is super affordable to add on to your stay. The only downside is that Reno can get pretty loud at night, but they helpfully provided us with earplugs. I had no issue getting to sleep. Most importantly, the people and service were top notch. Piper (the owner) went out of her way to help us plan an amazing trip. She worked with us to make sure our every need was met, even down to contacting restaurants and hooking us up with reservations. The rest of the staff was friendly, helpful, and nice to chat with. Our entire 19 person party had nothing but rave reviews for our stay. I'm planning on coming back with my wife, and we will stay at Best Bet again. read more

Very cool remodeled motor lodge! Our two large dogs were very happy here, and we were so glad to find cement floors and dog-friendly couches! The bathroom was awesome, nice shower, two sinks, upscale bath products, big fluffy towels and a hair dryer! The bed, linens and pillows were very comfy. Small fridge, electric tea kettle, coffee in tea bags, perfect! There was even a decanter of water, which was handy for me since my husband was in the bathroom when I wanted to make coffee. We are definitely adding this one to our go-to stop in Reno!! read more

We had the good fortune to stay at the Best Bet during their first week of operation. It is a wonderful spot, run by the nicest people. We were upgraded to a more spacious room and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is great, right on Virginia Street, and we walked everywhere -- the Nevada Museum of Art, Sundance Books (sadly now closed), and the Stremmel Gallery.
