It was simply "ring up the sale" and move on. I didn't even receive a basic "thank you for shopping with us." I had to drive the conversation myself -- asking about delivery timing, installation process, and associated costs. When I got home, I noticed two different numbers on my receipt versus my order confirmation, and it appeared online that installation had been waived, while my paperwork suggested otherwise. Because of the confusion, I had to return to the store to clarify. After speaking with the same associate and another employee, it turned out I was reviewing the wrong document -- installation had in fact been waived. While I'm glad it was resolved, this confusion could have been avoided entirely with clearer communication at checkout. Even when customers come in prepared and ready to buy, customer service still matters. Walking through key details, confirming charges, and showing appreciation for the purchase goes a long way. This experience felt rushed and disengaged, and it honestly came across as the associate not wanting to provide more information than what was printed on the tag. Best Buy has been my go-to toe all electronics since we lost Good Guys and Circuit City. But my most recent experience is unfortunately, leading me to finding alternative options. I recently purchased a BRAND NEW Canon - EOS R100 4K Video Mirrorless Camera Double Zoom Lens Kit with RF-S18-45mm and RF75-300mm Lenses - Black. The item was originally $829, and on sale for $650. I waited a few weeks to open it, understanding there would be a learning curve and wanting to have a dedicated time to fully invest in learning to properly use the camera. But to my SURPRISE, when I opened the box, the camera was covered in dirt, hair, dust and grim. And NO this was NOT an open box purchase. It was a BRAND NEW item, that was packaged as a special bundle sales promotion. So that means that someone packaged this bundle with previously used items instead of the new items that should have been placed into the package. This is the most DISGUSTING experience I've ever had. Be mindful of where you purchase your electronics, INTEGRITY is ESSENTIALS. Oh and because I waited to open the camera I was outside of the original 14 day return period by 1 day, and the store originally refused to allow me to return the newly purchased item, even after seeing the images of the dirt, hair and grim on the device. Our refrigerator died on this week Monday so we went to Best Buy in Slatten Ranch on Wednesday to see what they had to replace our dead unit. We met a great appliance sales rep named Sebastian who was most helpful and spent a lot of time with us explaining which models would be best for our space and dependability. The one we wanted could not fit in our enclosed space so we settled for a smaller size that would fit our space nicely. Sebastian helped us with all the paperwork and set-up delivery for Saturday, today. The installers just left our place and we are very satisfied with their work and help in understanding our new frig. We believe their names were Juan and Richard. Great notifications and great people from the front end to delivery. Great value and service. We will be back to get a new TV and perhaps a second freezer. read more

For an electronic store not being able to print me a gift receipt for an online order I purchased is diabolical. Purchased online for store pick up, the young girl who helped me was rude and not friendly at all. I asked for a gift receipt, she supposedly hit a button and said you should get one online. It's been hours and still haven't received one. I go back to get one since this isn't a cheap purchase and they said there must be a glitch? And they weren't able to since it was an online order? WTF, make it make sense. But if I return it and buy it back, they can give me one but I would be charged twice. I know how returns works. Spent a lot of money to get a new desktop computer and monitor. The salesperson said I should get speakers. It turned out I didn't need them (the monitor already had them built in). I tried to return the extra speakers, but they refused!! They cleverly hide their return policy of only 15 days (!) in the fine print of the receipt. I tried to return this (unopened) on day 17. The manager told me if I spent $50 I would become a valued customer and could return the $25 speakers! Why am I not a valued customer after making a $1000+ purchase!!! Avoid Best Buy if you can. This review is solely for LUIS in the MOBILE department. This young gentleman was very helpful when it came to my cracked iPhone privacy screen protector. I paid the extra $$$ to have it life time warranty and was bummed when they don't carry the iPhone 13 privacy screen protector anymore. Then LUIS mentioned about how I can trade my iPhone 13 in and get the iPhone 15 pro where they have the screen protectors for that phone model. He explained to me the process a few times because as a mom of two, my memory is shot. Anyways, I came back the next day after thinking about it and decided to just do it like Nike. Earlier this month (July 2025), I brought my computer in to the Geek Squad in the Antioch CA store for a standard drive replacement. The repair took over 90 minutes, much of it spent in the back room -- excessive for what should have been a simple task. Approximately one hour after leaving the store -- and before I had even powered on or connected my computer to the internet -- I received an alert from Amazon, indicating someone was attempting to access my account. This raises deeply troubling questions about who had access to my credentials and what was done with my computer while being serviced! I have attempted to contact the store's general manager, James Vandyke, but he has been unresponsive despite phone calls and multiple emails over two weeks. Best Buy chat agents and the assistant manager confirmed that "there is no way to escalate concerns like this internally," which is unacceptable given the seriousness of this issue. read more

I placed an order online for a new printer. Chose "expedited" shipping. My order ended up being delayed. I couldn't wait for my new printer- needed it for my small business so I went to Office Depot to buy the same one-office depot's staff carried it to my car for me-huge box and heavy. Finally received my printer from Best Buy (LATE!) didn't need this one anymore so I hauled the heavy huge box to Best Buy to return the printer. The huge heavy box broke TWICE in front of FOUR men who work for Best Buy. Not a single one of those thick men helped me get this box to customer service counter to return. If it weren't already obvious, the bar is in hell with Best Buy and you'll get a much better experience at office depot. Best Buy- You have got to do better. I walked in on 2/26 and purchased a Bosch Dishwasher and Zephyr Range Hood. I knew more about the two appliances from the online research I had done compared to the salesperson. That evening I received an email from Best Buy stating that the range hood is on back order from the manufacturer and is not expected for 5 weeks. Why wasn't I informed of this when I placed an order? Fast forward to today, I have had 2 appointments for the install of the dishwasher and every time the logistics team has gone to the warehouse for the dishwasher it was not available. I have made at least 10 phone calls to customer service to date and finally escalated the call. Got a phone call from a product specialist and she is saying that we can schedule you an appointment for next week. Umm, I'll believe it when I see it: There were no apologies made during the phone call. I cancelled the order for the range hood because I'm fed up with the service. This is a joke. This big box chain is a scam. Let's rollback to April 28th, that's where my story begins. I walk in to purchase a new refrigerator. I give this place my money. A whopping $3674.89 to be exact. I set up delivery for what is now yesterday, May 5th. Delivery guy shows up and the box has a red tag. **Gasp** what is a red tag? Well a red tag means that the product is two things, an opened refused product or a floor model. Pretty sure I DIDNT purchase either. I purchased a NEW refrigerator. See when they repackage them, they slap on that there red tag to identify that it's been repackage. So I'm beyond upset. See the refrigerator I purchased at a repackaged price i $2,294.99. Huge difference right from $3600+. If I hadn't known what that there red tag meant I would of been given a discounted opened product. Not a new one. A little other unknown fact, most all products come out of their warehouse in Tracy. Doesn't matter if it's in stock at the Brentwood store and you live in Antioch. It'll leave Brentwood, travel all the way to Tracy then back to the city you live in. Which leaves a huge problem. You now take a bigger risk of having the package damaged through all this traveling. Back to my gripe, Best Buy's way of correcting this issue was to find me another fridge, supposedly new one and get it delivered to me (don't guess same day, nor today on the 6th) they now want me to wait until the 18th. But Remember I originally purchased this refrigerator on the 28th of April. There was no upgraded refrigerator, no discount of my originally purchase, no next day redelivery. No it's we're going to keep all your money, inconvenience you even more and make you wait even longer. I think I was supposed to bend over for them at this point. That was their resolution to screwing me over. Well... I'm not waiting until the 18th. I am going to press on, and tomorrow I'm going walk my hap, hap, happiest a$$ into Best Buy and get a return of my money. I can't believe they want me to wait almost another two weeks for a redelivery. Im not waiting that long, I will wait the 2 days for the return of my money to my bank for their crappy used product they tried to pawn off on me and take my business elsewhere. Just know if you buy online you can't discuss your purchase in store and vice versa if you buy in store you can't discuss w customer service on phone for that purchase! I initially went into best buy store on lone tree to purchase 75" TV. The rep that helped me was super helpful Sanjay (?) I went home to do measurements and when I went back to make purchase Sanjay was not available. The employee that was trying to help me must've just smoked cigarettes and didn't wash his hands he smelled like an ashtray. I couldn't follow him around because the angel was giving me a headache. So I had to leave so I bought a 75" TV mid November online and when delivered it was damaged. So again I went online to replace it and was supposed to receive delivery Monday before Thanksgiving. I took the day off for work and TV never showed. No call, no notification..Nothing! I went into best buy store on lone tree again (trying to Avoid smelly kid) & employee told me the Warehouse canceled delivery bc they didn't have the TV. AWESOME! The employee at best buy was so nice and apologetic. I asked if I could just order thru him at the store. He said of course but I would need to cancel the online order because the Store and Warehouse do not communicate to each other. I canceled the order online but Now I won't receive new undamaged TV until after December 1st. So now I don't have a TV for Thanksgiving dinner that I'm hosting. The manager on phone and in store both said they would compensate me for both my day I took off work for delivery that never showed and for the hassle I've gone thru this entire process. Still have not received compensation. SHOCKING! Last week I was on the phone for 4 hours because best buy citi bank credit card statement just shows the DATE, DOLLAR AMOUNT and LOCATION of purchase (online or store) did n no where on Statement does it show for which item. So the credit card statement is not itemized. I had to call Best Buy to go thru all my receipts. After being transfered 6 times because well it's a shit system. They sold me a damaged TV and when I got it home and took it out the box it was busted, They will not take the TV back or hold themselves accountable for selling me damaged goods. November 22, I ordered an LG Stackable Smart washer and dryer. Ms. I. Gonzales was nice, however she didn't notify me that I had to order a separate stacking kit, nor did she ask me if I was stacking them. The units were displayed stacked in the store. So I assumed that's what I was getting. They're delivered two days later (awesome!) but the delivery guy says they can't install the stackable washer/dryer, because I didn't order a stacking kit and they didn't have any extra in the truck. Julian and Jordan probably would have installed everything that day IF THE SALES PERSON TOLD ME I NEEDED A STACKING KIT. They called their supervisor for help. The supervisor said I would get a call letting me know when they can come back out again. A couple days past. No calls. I call corporate. Some young, male, mouth-breather answers the phone and after a couple of minutes of dead silence, I get passed on to someone I thought would help me. I told the person the whole story. They said they ordered me a stacking kit, I paid for it online while I was on the phone. Then the guy said the installation team would come out, deliver the kit, then install my appliances. The guys came, delivered the kit, but said they were not ordered to install anything. WTF?!? That was on December 2. I called the installation team again. This time I was on the phone for 30 minutes telling my story over again to some one else that didn't speak English. The lady doing her best said that she made an appointment for guys to come out, install my washer/dryer, and haul my old washer away. It is December 4th. I was up at 6am, because the appointment was for between 7am and 1pm. The guys get here at 11:08. They say that the stackable washer/dryer wouldn't fit, because it would stick out too far and block the back door, because the dryer vent would make the unit stick out too far. I told them that it would fit, because the vent is supposed to be on the left ( it was in the original order.) The new guy says they can't install it because I need a side vent kit. I said, " the vent kit is right here." "No. You need a special one that only the Geek Squad can install." I still somewhat calmly said, " can you call the Geek Squad people for me?" The guy took phone pics of the appliances and the space it was going in and sent it to the Geek Squad people. He also said they were outsourced by the company, a third party not directly affiliated with Best Buy! Best Buy has worse communication within its own operation than at my job. Then I get a call from the delivery guy's supervisor, Josh, who--God bless him--seems like he's trying to make sure things don't get fucked up again after I had to tell him the whole story over again. That guys tells me I need to go to a hardware store and buy another kit to put the vent on the side. WTF?!? I told them they better either install it today or pick this shit up and give me my money back! What a stupid store! I will never buy an appliance from there ever again. At least I have my appliances that I like and most of the parts. At other stores, like Lowe's, these units are $1049 each. Update 12/19: the washer/dryer were finally installed by very nice, competent Geek Squad installers. David was the one I talked to mostly. The washer worked fine. The dryer turned on, but didn't heat up. It wasn't the dryer. I called an electrician GAP Electrical, and Gonzalo replaced an outlet and circuit breaker, then everything worked fine. Although this experience was a saga of delays, it allowed me time to patch up drywall, paint and clean the area the appliances were going. I love my new washer dryer. I think next time, I'll order online. I need a new fridge. read more

Three days later we had problems w/dishwasher. I was SHOCKED when I contacted Best Buy & was told we only had 48 hours to notify them w/any problems?! It's the customers problem not theirs? Geek Squad - Very hard to find where to write a review on Best Buy website - so I'll write a review on here. Geek Squad "CJ" was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional. Needed help with my phone I just purchased at AT&T and they refused to help me with anything. You should read my revie for AT&T - NEVER will use them again. Best Buy can hook you up to AT&T service in their store. CJ asked every time he was going to show me something, for permission to go into any apps on my phone. Which of course he needed to so he could help me, but the fact that he asked was very professional. He knows his stuff and was able to help and relieve my stress that 45 minutes on the phone with AT&T tech support stressed me and raise my blood pressure and never gave me the resolve that CJ did in 5 minutes. He really is a great asset to the Geek Squad. They are lucky to have him. Keep up the good work CJ, you will go very far with your knowledge and skill. read more

Purchased a floor model Samsung fridge from Best Buy and was told it would be cleaned before delivery. I should think so since we were handing over a good chunk of change. As the delivery man brought in the fridge he rolled the dolly over my carpet ( really no reason for it) and left a huge amount of grease all over my brand new carpet....he then bashed the fridge into the wall and never said "I'm sorry" or anything..I heard it AND felt from where I was a went to look at it...took the paint of my wall right down to the metal. I pointed out the grease but it was kind of looked at as "oh well". There was really NO REASON for him to be on the carpet. I had a lot of food to get into the new fridge but in had to spend at least 40 mins cleaning insidecand out due to filth. There was never even an explanation on how to operate the dam thing either!!
