Horrible experience. We spent over $3,000 on items scheduled for delivery, only to have the delivery canceled an hour before arrival. They rescheduled, canceled again, rescheduled again, and then canceled for a third time. We finally canceled the order completely and went to Sam's Club instead, where we got the TV for nearly half the price and received 10x better service. Worst company experience we've had. read more

1 Star - Extremely Unprofessional Installation Experience We went to Best Buy (Concord Mills NC) ahead of time to show the team the exact equipment we wanted installed in our vehicle so we could ensure we had everything we needed and verify the installation cost before scheduling an appointment. When we arrived for our installation appointment, the installer immediately started listing new charges that had never been discussed. When we questioned this, he offered no help and simply said, "I'm not the manager." I then asked to speak with the manager. The manager came over, reviewed the situation, and agreed to meet us halfway on the unexpected charges, so we agreed to proceed with the installation. After having our vehicle for almost two hours, the installer called and said he was stopping the installation due to "liability" concerns with our radio. He claimed the radio was staying on even though there was no power to it and said all he did was disconnect the battery and nothing else. Yet there was a mysterious cut red wire sticking out from behind the radio now. However, when we inspected the vehicle, several things were clearly changed or disconnected (he removed the entire passenger seat, the previous amp, the previous sun, and who knows what else we couldn't see. Despite this, the installer attempted to have me sign paperwork stating that he had done nothing to the vehicle. I refused and asked him to accurately document the work that had actually been performed, including removing the seat and removing the amplifier, etc. To make matters worse, this vehicle belongs to my 16-year-old son. His system was working before this appointment, and now it has multiple issues that were not present previously, including non functioning steering wheel controls, this mysterious red wire, and a sparking amp that he had to remove from the vehicle for safety reasons. We now have to take the vehicle to another company and pay them to repair the problems and install the new amplifier and subwoofer. This was one of the most unprofessional service experiences I have ever encountered. The lack of transparency, accountability, and basic customer service was extremely disappointing. Like so many businesses, it seems this store and the Geek Squad are all about trying to take advantage of women and those who don't know better. It makes me ill. My first experience with this store, I waited forever for help on sales floor & finally went to GeekSquad counter. Lots of associates passed me, none would even acknowledge I was there. GeekSquad member sent me to wait for a rep who was on her way. I still waited more than 15 minutes. An hour in the store without help before someone came to help me. I am a vet missing a leg, standing is uncomfortable. An hour is crazy. The rep took me to the counter near "Mobile," the phone section. I asked if the store installed stereos bought elsewhere. She said "absolutely." I said "So I can buy a stereo online and have it installed here?" She said yes, it didn't matter where I got it. I asked her if there was anything I needed to know. She said no, asked a few questions about the vehicle and scheduled the install 9 days later. My fiance took the truck and the items for install. They wouldn't install the stereo - wrong brand, they said. Nobody asked what brand when I setup the appointment. I asked why nobody said that before, the installer said "That's because the blue shirts (sales associates) don't know anything," Then they told her I didn't have any of the right connectors, either. I had everything. The tech said it would be about $1500 to do the install. A lot different than what they quoted me when I set the appointment. My fiance' asked what it would cost to buy the stereo there so they would install it. They made an invoice that listed everything I already had, new, right in front of them: Speakers, radio, amplifier install kit. $1842.34! But they would be glad to install it. It seems to me they saw a woman and didn't try to help her figure out the minimum necessary - they saw an opportunity to milk the situation for all it was worth. I am a veteran who is disabled and a high school teacher - I don't have funds to throw away. I called and asked the installer about it. He said their checklist called for a different interface. He said he could not install anything else but it didn't matter - they would not install that brand of stereo. So why not tell me that BEFORE my fiance got there for the appointment??? I asked for a manager, then bounced around between two installers and the Geek Squad manager. Different answers were given. One said they absolutely could not install it because it was not the right one. One said they could install it but without a warranty on the labor, then he other said they just didn't have experience with it and their installer notes "recommended" the other item. The manufacturer said it was the right item. I asked the tech about all the duplicate items they put on the invoice. "Oh, she asked what it would cost to buy the there so we just ran everything." Why? Why run everything when he could see good speakers (Kicker, Cerwin Vega and Blaupunkt) new in the box right there? Why add everything in when, according to them, I only needed two items?? Why? Money. No different than the scammers at garages that show you a good air filter that isn't as white as a new one and say "See? You need a new one!" I asked the GeekSquad manager for a little help, considering we had taken the time to drive an hour there, waited for the appointment instead of going somewhere else because the "blue shirt" told me they would install my stereo, and he offered nothing. Basically, it was "so sorry we told you we wrong, it's the sales associate's fault." Their own people said not to trust the sales associates because they don't know what they're doing. Nice. They cost me time and money and admitted it, but passed the buck to the "blue shirts" instead of trying to make it right, and never could explain why they gave my fiance the ridiculous quote. I arrived when the store opened at 10 am this morning. I went directly to the television/monitors and was quickly greeted by an employee. After going back and forth between 3 different brands of Smart TVs, I ended up going with a higher resolution Sony over the Samsung or Roku TVs. The purchase was very quick, and I was asked if I needed help transporting the box into the car, which I declined but thank them for asking. I ordered a 16-inch Dell laptop, but when it arrived, it was a 14-inch. I printed my return label at home and took it to the Concord Mills (North Carolina) store. I gave the guy behind the counter my label. He proceeded to act as if I was returning a laptop I had used-he proceeded to scan all the labels on the box, the serial number, and even called another guy over for further assistance. I asked several times what was wrong with the return, and the first guy said he had to make sure Best Buy had sent me the wrong item! He even pulled the laptop out; it was an open box, and no manuals came with it. I told him they had, and I selected that as the reason for the return online. I was embarrassed and felt singled out, as others in the returns line did not encounter this scrutiny. I am a Best Buy Card holder and have purchased multiple items and done many returns, and never have I felt so profiled in my life. I've shopped here several times and should no better but today I need to pay my Best Buy bill and my wife needed a universal remote for her TV. We had brunch at Famous Toaster at Concord Mills and this store was right down the street so we went there. Walked in and I went to Customer Service and my wife went to TV accessories. Only one person in Customer Service. Two ahead of me, one of which she was wrapping up on and the next couple moved up within 30 seconds. Not sure what was going on but they had three items to pick up. I guessing but not sure that this represented three separate orders. They went back and forth with no resolution on at least one and rather than ask for additional assistance, it became a case of lets just wing it. By this point, my wife had found the appropriate department, found the appropriate Best Buy employee to make sure she had found the right item ( this is a slow process) and she came to the front to get her Best Buy Card. For some reason, I had both probably because I had misplaced mine but later found it. I'm still in line at this time Finally the other customers are satisfied and move on and comes time for me. Total transaction took only about 2 minutes or less just to pay a bill. Finally completed the transaction and by this time, I heading over to check out where Customer Service sent her when she came up to get the card and she had completed check out. There is something wrong with the business model. At one time, Best Buy was my go to store because of the support they gave. I went to Best Buy for a new laptop, and was duped into getting a new credit card that I didn't want and don't want. When I went to pay the clerk started talking about monthly payment. I told him I just want to put it on my card for the airline miles. He said no problem just sign up for this program and you will get 20% back. Then you can put it on your card. By the time I was done I had signed up for a credit card I did not want and don't want. Additionally I was never told, and still don't know the terms of the card. After the transaction he said "now let me see your debit card and I'll put it on your card " I told him it was a credit card. He informed me that it will only work with a debit card. I have a lifetime warranty with Armor Shield screen protectors a warranty that allows me to get a new screen cover whenever my screen is damaged or needs replaced, my primary reason for coming to your store after checking in with customer service the associate sent me to section and your store only had 2-pack protectors in stock.  I suggested that they open a pack and replace my cover but not a possibility.  So out of nowhere an associate by the name of Stephanie steps in and says "there's not a replacement for your warranty call Armor Shield", I explained I have a warranty purchased at Best Buy, what is your policy on replacement or resolve for customers who have purchased the warranty?  She stated there is none, write Armor Shield and rolled her eyes. This is where the conversation took a turn, her tone, body language and demeanor were extremely insulting and by no means of any help to the situation. I looked above me to make sure I was standing in the customer service section of the store.   I immediately asked for the store # 268 and the GM's name (Alvin Williams), which she pointed was by the exit door. By all means Stephanie could have attempted to de-escalate the situation by being helpful but she was not, she never took time to listen to me she was not concerned and lacked empathy for my situation.  In my opinion, Stephanie was rude and should not be servicing customers of Best Buy or any store in the Concord Mills Mall. I live in South Charlotte and rarely travel to Concord Mills (45 minutes from my home), to shop and after this encounter I promise you I won't be traveling back there anytime soon.  I returned to South Charlotte and went to my Best Buy Store in Rivergate where I was able to get an Invisible Screen Protector for my iPhone, I've was informed from the customer service associate that Best Buy honors a storewide policy to replace Armor Shield Screen protectors with the Invisible Screen Protector so the customers are not inconvenienced when requesting a replacement. Can you imagine how I felt when I left your store? I felt horrible!!! None of your customer service reps knew about the exchange policy or even offered to research or offered to help, what a horrible demonstration of customer service and training as a General Manager you should be appalled. Thank goodness for the expert customer service I received at the Rivergate Best Buy location, I have my screen protector and to top it off I received a gift card for $4.29 which reflects the price difference between the cost of the replacement. read more

Pretty convenient that this Best Buy is located at Concord Mills. There is an entrance to the mall and it's own "regular" entrance if you are just going in to grab something pretty quickly. The plus of the location is also a minus. Traffic around Concord Mills always amazes me because people can't read that the main entrance has the right of way and you don't have to put the brakes on when turning left or right! If you survive the entrance, the turn into the Best Buy Parking lot is awkward. The parking rows are angled so it may look "pretty" from the air, but totally worthless when you are actually driving around so people cut across parking rows until you get closer to the build. Recipe for Mad Max disaster is what I call that. There have been plenty of close calls when I am driving within the lines and someone comes out of nowhere.... and looks at me like I am the idiot. Yes, gadgets and electronics are amazing, but totally not worth road rage or stress that this parking lot gives me. read more

Really bad experience with three Best Buy stores and Geek Squad in the Charlotte area. About a month ago I purchased a remote start for my vehicle along with installation services at the Midtown Best Buy store. The Midtown technician had broken his leg so they scheduled my installation for the Matthews store. A day or so before the installation, I got a call from the Mathews store that their technician was also injured so they scheduled my appointment for the Concord Mills store. So I took a half day off work and went to the Concord Mills store to have the installation completed. It was estimated to take two to three hours. When I arrived at the Concord Mills Best Buy store, the technician had me scheduled for a radio installation.  He seemed extremely perturbed that I was actually there for a remote start install. He then took a look at the packages that I bought and told me that those would not work for the car that I was driving. At that point I went inside the store to return the products just tired of being bounced from store to store. Once I got inside, I was told that I could not return the products to the Concord Mills store I had to take them back to the Midtown store where I bought them. I spoke to a manager on duty named Reid who was ever so unfriendly and offered me no resolution at all. He told me my two choices were to call 1 800 Best Buy or to go back to the Midtown store. I drove back to the Midtown store. I spoke to the assistant manager who actually is the person who sold me the products to begin with. He researched the matter a little further and found out that in fact I did not have the correct products for the installation. So I returned the products and emailed the manager of the Concord Mills store and I have not gotten a reply from. read more

But then I find a lot of Best Buys that are just totally worthless. This is a worthless one. I came here with a list of things to buy, but I left with nothing. Actually, they had one of the things I wanted, but it wasn't worth the 30 minute wait in the checkout-line to buy just that one thing since I could get it anywhere (like Wal-Mart or Target) and still had to go someplace else to get the other things I still needed. If you're in the area and need a Best Buy you're better off going to Northlake or Afton Village. The mall traffic makes it very hard to get in and out within a reasonable timeframe and the store is missing a lot of normal merchandise a full sized store would have. Being attached to a mall you're really only going to find help in the cell phone or TV sections, if you've been a regular you've seen that Best Buy is following the Radioshack model of slowly getting rid of everything but high margin items such as phones and letting in reps for Dish to harass customers. The last time I was in the store I was looking for a PS3, I could order online but if I'm spending a few hundred I want to see a box and get a feel for it first. I couldn't find anything on the floor and no one around to help so I ended up leaving without buying anything. I've also gone while I was at the mall to get a usb hub or other small items and left without finding what I wanted and no one around to ask. This is not a direct review of this specific Best Buy but for Best Buy as a Company. I ordered a MacBook Pro on dec 6th with an estimated delivery date of dec 18th. On the 18th I received an email notification that it was delayed. Which I was understanding of considering the holidays and the influx in shipments for all carriers. I then got an email notification on dec 29th that my order has shipped and would have tracking information within 24 hours. It is now almost 5 days later and still no tracking and when I called to speak to customer service they let me know that my product has shipped via a "new carrier" and they could not provide me any tracking information besides a bogus number that does not work when I try to track it. This is a $3500 purchase and the fact that nobody knows where it is, is completely frustrating and unprofessional on a business stand point with a company as big as Best Buy. If Best Buy wasn't such a big company I would think I was being scammed. I will NEVER make a purchase from Best Buy again and urge you not to as well. This is NOT how you do business. I wish there was a zero star because the fact that I have to even give one star upsets me. read more

Yes, this location requires your patience card just to find a parking spot. However, on a weeknight, it's not so bad. We arrived pretty late so parking was not a problem. The store was not crowded but I could tell from the check-out setup that it would be a different story on the weekends. We were able to get in and browse the merchandise. Of course, by this time, the product I wanted was completely out of stock. However, we were able to purchase another item that made the trip worthwhile. read more

I recently bought an oven through Best Buy and got a really good deal. We had planned to pick it up in store ourselves but due to all the rain we decided to have it delivered. Two hours before it was scheduled to be delivered we got a call saying it had been destroyed in a distribution center in Atlanta. Their store policy is that they will replace a damaged item however they refused to replace our oven unless we paid an additional $300. This is literally the textbook definition of bait and switch. We took a refund and will never shop at Best Buy again. They pick and chose when to follow store policy based on when it benefits them, not the customer. I judge a company by whether they do the right thing, or not. A few weeks ago I had a TV mounted on the wall in my living room. I told the installer that I was also interested in having a sound bar mounted (had not been purchased at this point). The Geek Squad tech suggested that I have a power outlet installed in the middle of the wall (beneath the TV) for the future sound bar. Me, being a layman, reluctantly (after expressing my disdain at the thought of a hole in the middle of my wall to the tech person, several times) had the work done, and the outlet was installed. Another appointment was made to have the Sonos sound bar (really like this product) installed. This is when the problem occurred. The Geek Squad member (Robert Carter) assigned to the job, walks into my home (without seeing the new product) and immediately asked me why I had a power outlet in the middle of my wall??? I replied, are you serious (the clean version of what I actually said)? Robert (very knowledgeable gentlemen) went on to explain that the outlet was unnecessary, and that a piece could be purchased (from his truck) which negates the necessity of the outlet. Robert suggested that I return the purchased power pack, which I did the same day. Mind Blowing!!! I had to hire a plaster repair person (Tristan, did a fantastic job) and buy primer and paint brush (luckily I had the paint), to finish restoring my wall. Best Buy offered me a $50 gift card, which means I'm still out of $100 dollars. This prompted my visit to the BBB. read more

Never had any bad experiences and never had an item that was out of stock. Only tip I would give is go through Mallard Creek Rd / Ordell School Rd to get to Concord Mills. You are almost certain to get there in a reasonable amount of time instead of the dreadful Concord Mills exit on 85. read more

I ordered a cell phone online on November 26th. The website said the phone was in stock with multiple colors, however I received several emails stating there was a delay and that they would notify me when the order was ready for pick up. I chatted multiple times over the course of a 3 week span and was told the order was being fulfilled at the local Charlotte warehouse and it was being shipped to the store and I should have it in 24 hours. On Friday December 18th they went ahead and cancelled my order by email and did not even offer me a phone in a different color (which they had in stock). I have never experienced such horrible customer service in my life. Every person I spoke to lied just trying to appease me, when in reality they had no idea what was going on. So I took it to Best Buy to see if they could do something about it because I went to my cell phone carrier first but they said it would probably be quicker if I go to Best Buy. The lady was very nasty didn't give me any solutions. I will never shop at this Best Buy ever again. Worst customer service. read more
