The most incompetent employees I have ever seen. You may as well have hired 2 year olds and let them crawl around the floor all day long. I also called the store MANY MANY times and got no answer. When I got there, pretty much every employee was doing NOTHING. Understaffed, false representation of goods, and generally poor service make this Best Buy a terrible place to shop. I came in here to buy a TV and immediately proceeded to Magnolia Hi-Fi. The salesman (Sonny) tried to lie his way to sales by stating that ALL Sony TVs are Edge LED backlit and that only LG carries a full-array LED backlight. He then proceeded to tout that "Energy" was Klipsch's new high-end brand (which is also not true). When we looked on the website and found that what he had told us was not true, he blamed his inconsistencies on a Sony representative. We then went to buy a Playstation 3. We were helped by "Skip." Skip then disappeared. We ended up having to ask a person in the camera department to find a PS3 for us and it took him ten minutes to come back with one. There were less than ten customers in the store on this Friday afternoon so I know that he was not busy. This Best Buy has the worst employees I have seen. 1-star for the Magnolia salesman. read more

The customer service here is, to put it kindly, atrocious! Every time we go in here lately, finding a staff member to assist us is like pulling teeth. Today, we were passed off several times, one employee flat out refused-and didn't offer to find someone to help instead, and the door guy was apathetic at best when approached about this. Bought 3 things today and the girls at the pickup counter say they ran out of bags and tell me they could give a trash bag instead really its like 5pm not even near closing and they ran out of bags. Seriously seem to me they just put me down for something I bought 3 things and they can't go and get me a bag out of the whole store to put my product in wow. They were joking and giggle while I was walking away with 3 things in my hand to put in a shopping kart lol really. More like little kids what kind of professional is that. Valerie from Pacific sales made out visit amazing!! We ended up buying five appliances from her when we just meant to go into the store to look at one refrigerator! She was knowledgeable of all the products, very personable, and I felt that we could trust her with her pricing. She made appliance shopping a smooth enjoyable process. And if anyone has been appliance shopping in the past they know that it is usually stressful high-pressure sales and leaving with a feeling of uneasiness. When you are spending thousands of dollars you want to feel taken care of. And Valerie did just that. She went above and beyond to make sure that we understood exactly what we are purchasing and showed us the inns and outs of products. I had been shopping for weeks for a new laptop and tv. I couldn't figure out what I wanted and refused to settle. Finally last weekend, I made a commitment and purchased my new toys. But letting me loose in a Best Buy is like letting a kid loose in a candy store. The less time spent there, the better. I took the mature approach and ordered my items online, for pick up in store. I thought it would take a while for them to process my order so I made plans to do things while I waited. But before I even finished my breakfast, I received the e-mail telling me that my order was ready. They said they'd hold my items for 2 weeks. No rush. No big deal. Five or six hours later, I showed up at the store to pick up my items. Some young kid with his "would you like fries with that?" headset waved me up to the counter while he was taking a call from another customer. He scanned one of my e-mails to see what items I was picking up. The laptop was ready and he placed it on the counter. However, my tv was still floating around somewhere in the store. He left me at the counter and went on a Lewis & Clark expedition to find my missing tv. While he was gone, another couple appeared behind me. There was another Best Buy employee behind the counter, but when she asked if she could help them and they mentioned they were there for in-store pick up, she said "Oh, you have to wait." and went back to waiting for a customer that needed "customer service". The kid finally showed up after about 10 minutes wheeling a tv from the back. I guess they had jumped the gun on my "your order is ready" e-mail. After I had everything in hand, I still had to pay for an HDMI cable, which I had forgotten to add to my online order. The cashier that rang me up didn't look like she wanted to be there and I was wishing I had gone to the friendlier looking cashier. While I'm usually not a chitchatter, a simple "Hi, how are you today?" goes a long way. I have a background in retail. I remember when it was all about building relationships with the customer. I don't understand having one employee multi-task so much that a customer doesn't receive even the most basic greeting. I could say that I'm going to boycott Best Buy because I think their customer service sucks, but losing my business would hardly put a dent in their profits. However, I think I'll be taking my business to other Best Buy locations for my future purchases. read more

This Best Buy location - similar to every other Best Buy i've been to - has the slowest most uncaring bunch of customer service representatives....ever. I would not recommend the Geek Squad for work on Macs. My overall experience with multiple squad geeks has left me unimpressed with their customer service. They have answered my questions about the status of my repair evasively, been slow to admit their mistakes, and overall had a very slow turnaround time, despite my having to go back after they did my data transfer incorrectly. My MacBook was ruined by a leaky roof, so I brought my hard drive in for data recovery. It took them several days to get back to me, and when they did, they called to ask if I'd like to buy a bigger hard drive to fit my data on. I agreed to this, but when I went to pick it up I discovered that they had only transferred part of my data to the new drive. Furthermore, the new drive was a Windows drive and not compatible with my new Mac. When I asked the clerk about this she insisted that it would be compatible, but at home I discovered that it was not. So back to Best Buy I go, but the folks I've talked to over the phone haven't left me confident that they will do their best to correct this. read more

Extremely disappointed at Best Buy and don't plan to shop there again. The return policy is ridiculous! The website says "30 Days for all other products"! I was not able to return my items for a full refund; which are not computers, monitors, or a radar detector. They gave me store credit. This location has a lot of stuff, and a lot of good stuff. The problem is finding it and sorting through the various racks of "specials" and "sales". The one place where these are the most well organized is the CD section other than that there's a lot to be desired. The staff is nice here and pretty much just let you shop until you ask for help which I personally like better. But like I said huge selection and decent deals on tons of stuff from appliances to DVDs and everything in between just poorly organized. It's a bit of a clusterf*** if you aren't a frequent shopper. But if you have time and patience you can find anything here and at a decent price. read more

If you are looking for a new TV or audio equipment this is a MUST HAVE location for you. Even if you live in NH like I do, I would say you HAVE to come to this location for the expertise of Sonny in the Magnolia Department and Eric B who is the Home Theater Manager. Sonny came in on his DAY OFF and he don't make commission to help me select the perfect items for my dream home theater system. He spent over 3.5 hours with me and didn't loose patience for one second. You can tell that he knows what he is talking about and loves what he does. Eric B, was so helpful in getting my items price adjusted to Amazon and also the transfer of the goods to the Salem, NH store so that Geek Squad could come out to my home to complete the install. I have looked up the reviews of the products that I purchased as they are not installed yet and I will tell you that Sonny DEFINITELY knows what he is doing. This location is in the top 3 in the region for their Magnolia Department so you are doing yourself a disservice if spending this kind of money you don't see the best of the best! read more

$420 "free installation"?! I just bought a washer and dryer from them, which supposedly came with "free installation". The company they use ("Best Yet Installations") arrived saying they had to install two water hammer valves at $50 each (Home Depot lists them for $10 each) and $40/ft x 8ft of dryer vent hose ($320 for approximately $25 worth of parts). No options. I told them I would do the install - they said they could not do that because they had to test the installation before they left. You have to agree on the spot, with three guys waiting, whether to agree to the fee. Or? Send the units back and hope you get a refund, go shopping again and wait another two weeks for delivery? It is extortion, period. Had Best Buy simply said the installation would have cost $420 to begin with, or been clear about the costs, I may have agreed, and not been upset. But this is a hidden cost that amounted to a 25% surcharge on top of the cost of the washer and dryer that amounts to certainly unethical and possibly criminal business practices. No contact for days about the fact that they can't repair my devices. I stay in the phone for hours over a span of several days to get status updates - only to be told that I should come and get them. Catchy and enticing name for what they promise to provide. We order a new refrigerator and was given a time between 12p and 6p for delivery. We stayed home all day at 2:30p got a text that the delivery truck would be there at 2:40, so.we empty everything. By 3:15 no one had arrived, tried calling 20 plus minutes in que to talk to a person. Now all the refrigerated food is all rotting an the table still. Finally got through to person after 4p, and they said drivers couldn't find my house so didn't delivery. We now have to pick another 6 hour window for them to come. No apologies, no replacement of all the food I had to throw away. They wanted us to pick another day not even we will get you on first thing tomorrow, no we have to go another week with a broken refrigerator. We will.never buy anything from best buy again. All in all, pretty average. The staff is, as I said, average. Some are very friendly to talk to but usually seem like they don't want to be there. I do love their in-store pickup, which is what my experiences here usually consist of now. Just easier than having to search for items that are most likely out of place. If an item can't be found in store, it can usually be shipped to store for easy pick-up. Their recent remodel definitely made the store look nicer, too. The best thing, though, is their Gamer Club program. Thanks to that, I almost exclusively shop at Best Buy for my hobby, which I drop too much money on. Gamestop has lost a lot of my business because of this. All in all, a perfectly decent place to shop with really good deals and okay people. read more

My husband and I bought a gas range from Best Buy in Danvers, MA. That process seemed fine. We schedule delivery for 4 days later or so. The installers come in and say that they can't install it because it is too close to our wood cabinets and illegal and we need a 6 inch gap. NO ONE HAS THAT GAP. We were also not told about that requirement. We have them take the new range so we do not have two ranges sitting in our kitchen. We put out a request on Home Advisor and someone gets in touch saying that Best Buy just never wants to do work so he will install it for us. Great, cool, we schedule the range to be dropped off again. Also a part of their "service" is that they are supposed to haul our old one away. So we were just going to have them drop off the new one and haul the old one away. They get here the following week to do so, come in, and say they can't take it because our gas line is still connected. THEY NEVER TOLD US WE HAD TO DISCONNECT OUR OWN GAS! WHAT KIND OF SERVICES DO THEY ACTUALLY DO THAT THEY DON'T EXPECT US TO DO?? My husband calls the Danvers, MA store where we got it from looking for compensation. They say that cooperate deals with compensation. My husband calls cooperate and they say that the stores deal with compensation of in-store purchases. I call the Danvers, MA store, am put on hold, and based off the past week where my husband was trying to deal with the original fiasco of them not being able to install it and being put on hold for 20 minutes and disconnected several times, I decided to see if I would be connected to someone first or arrive at the store in person. Sure enough 20 minutes later, I arrived at the store and was still on hold. I go into the store, am directed to customer service, directed to appliances, give the guy my story, and he calls cooperate because he was confused why cooperate directed us back to the store for compensation. He talks to someone for a while, hands the phone to me, and I tell this other guy my experience. The guy on the phone then tells me... Well here are the notes the installers left verbatim... and he then read off to me what the installers wrote about how they couldn't install the stove because it was illegal. I told him my argument about how that 6 inch requirement wasn't told to us and how they came back and then would not take the old oven because we did not disconnect the gas- which we were, again, not told. He then said to me... Well you never disclosed the set up of your house. We don't know that information. So I'm sorry I don't understand how you expect to be compensated and you're not going to be. The miscommunication; the customer service; the lack of services- it all kills me. I see no reason for why we would think to be like... by the way, we have wooden cabinets. Is that going to be a problem? That is more of a professional/expert thing to inquire about, not a homeowner thing to know to provide. I could not advise more to not ever use Best Buy!! read more

Poor poor customer service dinged them hard. As we walked in, one staff was playing in a wheelchair and the other was joking with her. I went to the tv department out back with my SO, where he was promptly attended to. I got bored with techie talk and decided to amuse myself in the camera section. I stared at the chips for a while trying to decide what I wanted. The camera section was a ghost town, even though I could see blue shirts elsewhere chatting in groups. No one seemed to care I was there. I got really excited to see a lens I was looking for, but wanted to ask questions. Again you could here the tumbleweeds rolling along. So I went back to the tv section. It's funny because the minute you step into the big bucks tv section a sales genie magically appears to help :-/. Much to his disappointment I asked him if he knew anything about the camera lenses, which he did not. I asked him if he knew if the lenses were in stock and got some kind of convoluted answer and then decided to tell him forget it and went to listen to the boys play with the sound system. But I really wanted that lens. So I went back again. I looked around.....crickets.....I decided I'd go up front to pay. There was no "did you find everything you needed?" There was another guy now sitting and playing in the wheel chair and someone else talking to him. Finally I couldn't take it and said to the lady ringing me out "isn't anyone working in the camera department tonight?" The reply "usually if you hang out there for a bit someone will come". I replied that I had. She then comes back with " well then if you go ask someone in another department they will find someone to help you". Ummmmm.....and then the kicker...."or you can come up front and well page someone". What about rather than telling me what she assumes I did wrong....apologizing and offering to find someone to make it right? I ordered a wall oven. I started the transaction in Feb. It is now March 17 and they once again canceled the delivery for ten more days out. This is after getting emails and calls confirming the delivery. I would not do business with them again. They are far from reliable. Best buy needs to get their act together. read more

So thankful I came here to trade in my phone & get a new one. I left a Verizon store feeling frustrated a few weeks ago because all the costs/fees and plan change information was unclear. I came here and had the exact opposite experience. Every staff member I passed was friendly (but not pushy), the Verizon expert who helped me, Cesco, was unbelievably helpful & clear. I knew exactly what I was getting into with the trade-in and upgrade because he made sure I was following every step of the way. After one month of calls, waiting on hold, and spending more time on Chat with customer service people who were all unable to help me, I was unable to get a refund for the Total Tech Support service I was talked into purchasing. I was finally told this could not be done online and that I had to go back to the store and speak with a manager. When I did this, the manager told me it had to be done online and that there was nothing she could do! Fortunately Dave Howland, a sales person who overheard this conversation told me to follow him. She quickly helped my husband and I find and purchase several tablets that we were purchasing to send to friends who volunteer overseas. She accommodated us quickly and efficiently(we wanted to be in and out). The only negative here was that at least one of her fellow co-workers did not seem very happy that she was helping us. That this disunity was evident is the only reason I give less than 5 stars. In August of last year, we purchased an EMachine from the local Best Buy in Danvers. Yesterday, the thing wouldn't boot. The system got stuck on the "E" screen, for upwards of twenty minutes, or until you turned it off. It won't restore from the cd, it won't let us into the boot menu, anything. Not to fear! I bought a $200 Geek Squad service plan, which according to the person who sold us the whole bit, would include a loaner service so that business wouldn't be slowed down a bit. Some guy is going to hop into a Beetle and come to the rescue, right? Not quite. My parter called Geek Squad's 800 number around... 9am after trying to restore from the cd and turn on the computer a couple dozen times. The woman he gets on the line insists that it's a Windows issue, and it's not covered on our plan. How can this be, when we can't even get to the boot menu, or load of the cd? If it's just a windows issue, it should do one of those two easily. She refuses to help any further, and my partner calls me. I am currently at my day job, but my boss kindly allows me to take a minute to call myself. Now the gentleman I speak to, he at least acknowledges that there is something really wrong with it, and tells us to bring it back to the store we got it from and they will fix it. Fine fine, not a problem. The computer is brought to the store and everything is going great until - "We don't have a loaner program, that person was wrong in telling you that." But wait, what are we supposed to do? The store is right in the middle of moving to a new location, handle a ton of inventory, and not to mention handle credit card payments from customers. I'm also working with a bank right now and they are requesting financial information from me that's all on this hard drive! At this point it's around noon and I've had to leave work because of this to watch the store to bring it in. I'm a might bit pissed. To the credit of Stephanie (the manager in PC) she called all the way to corporate to see what they could do, she was very polite and helpful as she could be. Unfortunately.... they didn't care. The store's solution: Buy another computer and they *promise* to refund me all of the money, no restocking fee. I have two issues with this: One, this is a small business, it's just me and my partner here. I don't have another $800-$1500 to throw around here. I need this information now, I need the computer to work, or something. Two, you promise me? Ha. Yeah, because that verbal agreement worked so well last time. I don't care if I got it in writing, who says Best Buy is going to honor that? It's a fancy way to lose more money as I saw it. Completely unsatisfied, I call the corporate office. The first woman I speak with was very nice, but also completely unhelpful. I want to speak to her manager. He on the other hand, was a complete jerk. He was rude, interrupted me, and refused to even approach the fact that Best Buy had done some wrong here. "We don't tell our employees that information." he says. Well this one got the idea from somewhere! According to him, I should of known this from the pamphlets the store gives out. Well well, too bad for you they only give you that information AFTER you've paid, and they didn't have any literature on business plans, only personal use plans. So, there could of been any number of differences. My main issue is, that you are trying to tell me a national business such as Best Buy doesn't have one computer somewhere in the repair department they could use for this instance? That the company can do nothing? More like outright refuses to do anything. Fine then, I want to speak to this guy's supervisor. "This is as far as you can get." Is the reply I get to that. ~Great~ customer service there. So, I get a mail address to send a complaint to (and his name, reference number etc.) and leave the conversation no further than I was, and completely aggravated. So then I contacted EMachines through their website. The person there insisted that it was again a Windows issue and I boot from the cd. When I expressed that I had tried this, several times already, he said that if the issue continued that I should bring it to Best Buy, and any repair fees would be covered by EMachines (I have this in writing with a service ticket number), which I'm still not entirely pleased with, because this doesn't resolve my computer issue because again, they have no replacement warranty/loaner program either. Frankly, I'm never buying another thing from them (not even a cd) and will encourage other business owners, artists and friends to do the same. I've written a complaint to the BBB and will continue on with other public offices until I get some sort of resolution. read more

Bestbuy is one of the worst stores for knowlege, customer service and doing what is right for the customer. I have purchased many large ticket items and make sure you go to church and pray that nothing goes wrong with the products even with their service plans. Most recently I swapped out my laptop battery and they gave me a lemon. The thing wont charge. They tell me that I have only 30 days to exchange it. This is virtually impossible even if you are using your laptop heavily to figure out there is something wrong with the battery. I called them to place a claim and they never call back to let you know that it was denied. I speak with customer service and they tell me their hands are tied. Well guess what Bestbuy. You have truly lost my business. You are a horrible business and you lost it over a $100 battery....Hope more people will do the same with their bad experiences.... read more

Y'know, I reviewed Best Buy last year. It was a short review. It said, "Best Buy? I've never found one here." The nice people at Yelp contacted me recently to notify me that it had been flagged and removed. (And they were quite nice about it.) The reason being was it "it lacks a first hand experience". My previous review was based wholly on first hand experiences. I've been in this store dozens of times and find them overpriced on just about everything they sell. I've found better deals on electronics at Sears for God sakes and why would I buy CD's at Best Buy when Newbury Comics is a 10 minute walk from there. Upgraded to an IPhone 7 Plus on a Friday night, came back on Sunday to get a replacement. ALL phone calls made to various phones (landline/different cell phones and carriers) NEITHER WORKED to non Best Buy phones (2 sales guys called from my phone while in the store) even calling same numbers while I was in store they still couldn't hear me. I was willing to try another phone but manager wouldn't waive restocking fee claiming phone worked. When I said call one of the numbers OUTSIDE the store and he was like how do I know their phone doesn't work they are not here, um you can call same number from your phone and see it works, but was NOT HELPFUL AT ALL! As I am in the market for a new television and some kitchen appliances I just removed one store from my list for sure!
