Just a few days before Easter during the pandemic while everyone was self-isolating, our fridge and range both failed within a week of each other. HD's web site showed they'd have both delivered by the weekend BEFORE I clicked the "purchase" button. The receipt and order then said they wouldn't deliver for another two weeks after. I spent hours on the phone with various HD customer support #'s and they could not even see my order and could not help us! Called Tri-City and spoke to Janet who worked with me to get a beautiful set of fridge and range delivered the day before Easter. A little history first, my family has been working with Tri-City Sales for greater than 25 years. We always had great service and products. Recently had a need for a couple of new appliances. The day of the first delivery the service folks refused to take our old microwave. The salesperson told me they would so I stopped the delivery. The salesman called me back and told me they would return to our house and do everything that was promised to me (take the microwave). The truck was sitting in front of my house. The salesperson (owners son) said they would be back in four hours. I told him the truck is in front of the house and he said too bad, I would say that was the definition of poor service, but wait, it gets better. The owner called me back and talked me into taking the order. This time they used a private company to make the delivery. At that time I would say the service/delivery folks were great. BUT THEN, here we are six weeks later, returning home from a two week vacation and find the hot water hose to the washer machine has been leaking at the connection to the washer. The hardwood floors in the laundry room are all buckled and ruined, the water came through the first floor ceiling. Tri-City agreed to send a service technician to the house today between 11am and 1pm. He allegedly was here and I wasn't. Our security cameras show that he was here, parked in my driveway at about 10:50am and was gone about 10:55am. I was in my back yard talking with my neighbor. I called asked them to come back, the service department is not responding so I ended up with the owners son again. He said they would call and reschedule. To top this off they put the blame on the delivery company they use. The delivery company called me up and refused to send anyone out and said they did not do this job. WE WILL NEVER USE TRI-CITY SALES AGAIN. Really a shame they have fallen apart the way they have. I guess I will have to hire someone to fix the washer machine and hire a contractor to make repairs. They need to stand behind the products and services they provide. read more

Don't let the fancy appliances fool you; their customer service is terrible!! They will especially take advantage of you if you are ill-informed, apprehensive or elderly. Make sure you understand what you're signing up for when you pay for "delivery/install". They do not level. They do not secure. They'll drag it in, destroy door jambs and baseboards along the way, plug in, and leave. Speak up because once they have your money, you are dead to them. Very unhappy. This is NOT the way how customers, especially those that done thousands of dollars business with them should be treated. I am a long term customer of the Tri-City Salem. Bough number of appliances including complete kitchen sets for my various investment properties. Always worked with sales rep Brian Turosky. I needed to replace appliances in my own home. Bough an entire GE kitchen set that was delivered less than two weeks ago. On the day of delivery I noticed that refrigerator doors are not even - right door installed higher than left by about 1/4 inch. The difference is clearly visible and measurable. I Brian and in a few days repair man came to adjust the doors. After few minutes he declared that the doors can not be set even as this is how they came from the factory. I made number of photos where difference is clearly visible and went to see Brian on 7/29/25. I was shocked to learn that literally 85% of refrigerators have doors installed incorrectly!!??? WHICH IS A COMPLETE BS. I asked to have unit replaced with the properly installed doors. So far I was given a song and a dance instead of a date when new unit will be delivered. I wish I had checked Yelp before I spent $2k on a new refrigerator from this store. I was promised that if any issues occurred with my new fridge that the in-house service team would fix it. The ice maker in the fridge was broken from day one. I called Tri-City, and, guess what, they directed me to call the manufacturer myself. It took me 6 weeks and hours of phone calls to LG to finally get my "new fridge" to work properly. I like to shop local whenever I can, but take my advice and run away as fast as you can. Their showroom is filled with options covering all price ranges and budgets, from tried-and-true names like GE & high-end brands like Wolfe, Viking & Thermador to custom orders, there's no need for me to go anywhere else. Michael Marino is a top-notch salesperson with in-depth knowledge of the industry as a whole, specific experience with the models they offer and possibly the easiest, most congenial person I can recall working with. His follow-up from purchase to delivery and installation is unmatched. The delivery staff were equally as polite and professional, made sure everything was unboxed/unwrapped (they offered), placed correctly and even test-ran the washer and dryer. Cleaned up as if they were never there. Last, and certainly not least, is my strong conviction to support local and locally-owned businesses whenever possible. I would definitely recommend Tri-City Sales for all your appliance needs. I purchased all my kitchen appliances through them, as well as my washer and dryer. They price match! Anyway, recently I had a problem with a defective dryer. My concerns were taken seriously right away and the problem was rectified to my highest satisfaction. The rep that helped me was Michael Marino. He truly went above and beyond his job requirements and that is a big reason I continue shopping at Tri-City Sales. I walked into their Salem store to purchase three major appliances. So far, everyone of them had something wrong with them. I called the store a few times but only received ONE CALL back. The salesman was very kind and helpful but the workmanship on GE appliances is horrific. So far, GE has replaced most parts on all of them. They are new. The fridge frosts over and the refrigerator door was put on wrong so cold air was slipping out. The oven top melted. The microwave came banged up. The one time that Tri-City did call me back, they sent someone here but the female on the phone was NOT pleasant. You think I was "bothering" her. A close friend thought the same thing when she had problems with her new fridge. How come that man did not look at these appliances REALLY GOOD and find all of these defects? If anything, Tri-City should be reimbursing me the money I put down for these cheaply made appliances and not too good service. NEVER AGAIN. NO MORE GE APPLIANCES AND NO MORE TRI-CITY SALES. Two stars for the salesman only. Back to Maytag/Whirlpool.... and another mom and pop store in downtown Danvers where you always get great service. Bring back Paul Brennan. Love our new fridge - sales to delivery were awesome! So our 10 year old fridge started having problems and I researched alternatives and settled on a GE Profile model that was available from big box stores but no one had a floor model. Called TriCity and they did so I headed over and talked to Julie who was very helpful, knowledgeable and absolutely no pressure at all. Called the next day and ordered over the phone. One week later (yesterday), the fridge was delivered. The 3-man crew did a great job of figuring out how to get the old fridge out. Best approach was out the patio and around which meant they had to remove the screen door which they did carefully and put it back as good as new. Fridge went out without any issue and new one came in. Hooked up to water without leaks. Door handles assembled. All cleaned up and ready to go. The crew did a really great job (was a bit nervous with some reviews here) but they easily exceeded my expectations. I got some great advice to buy a new grill and rather than going online I wanted to support a local business. Tri-city is was really close and my neighbors like them. I wish I had a better experience. When they delivered the grill it came assembled by them. They dropped it off fast and ran. All excited I went and got a big steak and gas... and pressed the button... and no spark. When I looked at the wires they were cut or something. I called them about this and they told me it was my problem now. In fact they said "call the manufacturer". So I am left with a 1200 grill I have to light with a lighter because they do not care about my experience. I will not be shopping there again. And if you are... make sure things work before the delivery guys run. read more

Tri City is great while purchasing. However, if there's a problem, you're on your own. I purchased a dishwasher and had it installed. After about 3 months, I noticed my wood floor in front of unit was warping. Machine was leaking from motor. A Whirlpool rep came out and found damage to machine due to it being dropped. Tom K from Tri City told me I should not have accepted delivery. Blame placed with me and my installer! Guess I'm supposed to be his quality control. After several months he finally replaced unit. However, I paid installation twice and have $1000 worth of floor damage. I'm on my own. Beyond frustrating. read more

We just renovated our house and redid the whole kitchen. We bought all new appliances from them. We had some issues with the stove and vent system, which is understandable with all that we bought. I have run a business for many years. Everyone makes mistakes, but it the company that responds to the issues and care about there reputation that are the best. Absolutely the worst follow up. Could not have been happier with the exceptional above and beyond service received from this three-generations of a family owned business. During the recent heat-wave, the in-wall AC unit stopped functioning - not a good thing, especially with elderly tenants. Harder to do when you live four states away! Needed to immediately source the replacement and arrange for installation. From first answering the phone, to sales and pick-up, each person was focused on getting the right product in our hands as quickly as possible. It's not easy to source an in-wall AC unit - most are only special order. Tri-City Sales was highly recommended by a local appliance store, Greg Rogers in Lynn I've trusted for years who does not carry AC units. Anto in sales searched the floor and warehouse stock to find the right size, as well as the best possible price. Almost had a floor model deal yet he triple checked it and determined something wasn't functioning properly (thus ... display only) and continued hunting. Anto also ensured my contractor could pick up the unit from their warehouse that afternoon - we had a narrow window of availability that afternoon by my contractor due to his other customer commitments. Jose, with their warehouse staff, went above and beyond to call me confirming my contractor picked up the unit. Tim called from his personal cell phone to let me know my contractor dropped his bank card, then secured it for pick up that afternoon - also offering to have the old unit dropped off for proper disposal. I called co-owner Tom the next morning to let him know how his team literally saved the day by so swiftly sourcing the unit and arranging for pick-up within hours. Jen ensured I received my invoice by e-mail, accurately reflecting all details (my billing address vs. location of unit, etc.). I noted other reviews on line. Most are positive, five-stars, with some negative - clearly connected to each other - based on delivery or product warranty issues. Because of my experience, I'm not wavering my perspective about this company. In my business, I support many entrepreneurs. One thing we focus on is delivering seemingly effortless actions that differentiate that business as quality by offering substance over style. Great business owners and all on the staff innately know how good communications create lasting relationships with good customers. Tri-City Sales demonstrated this for me with this buying experience. When it's time to renovate the kitchen, I'm going back to Tom's team to source the full product package knowing my contractor and I will be treated professionally, with consideration of any constraints (such as time in this instance!) and ensure that we have exactly what we need. read more

My Tri City Sales Review!! Run from this place. The delivery people are beyond a nightmare and the owner not only does not stand behind his products, he does not service them and takes no responsibility once the sale has been made. My first appliance resulted in the delivery men blowing the electrical line to my stove and to my house. The town inspector had to get involved for us to get a new stove. The fridge I just bought was used as a hacky sac in the truck by the delivery men and although they were nice enough to bring the fridge in they could not be bothered to hook it up or even give me a receipt. You can do better basically anywhere else. I will be taking them to court and the filing fee is well worth it at this point as they do not call you back . I could go on but this worthless company is not worth it. 11/10/20 I just wanted to update my issue above. RUN FASTER from this place. I am now being harassed as the Tri City Truck passes my home they are sounding their airhorns which in the end represents not them but Tri City Sales. When I spoke to Tim the other owner and our salesman Janet after this occured, I got no more than a 'you deserved it for giving us a bad review'. So I guess the highlight of today was the air horns in the end. Anyway I would like to change my rating to a zero because a one is too good for this place. Landlord buys a new Refrigerator and Microwave. 10 days later, Tricity dilivers. 1. Two of the three delivery guys were rude, especially to my wife. 2. They DID NOT install microwave. It sits in the box on the floor. 3. The demanded $40 in CASH to take the second refrigerator which we bought to get through the long waiting period. We understood that the landlord had already arranged for this to be removed. and then they bitched because the dead machine's contents were not inside the dead machine. 4. I had a horrific experience with tri city sales. I ordered a dishwasher, microwave, stove, and refrigerator. When interacting with my sales person Kathy I had a positive experience. I decided to go with a local company to support local business during a pandemic. The problem started when the delivery crew arrived on a hot July afternoon. They proceeded to scratch my floors and use absolutely no floor protectors. They scratched a stairwell. I asked them why they were using blankets or floor protectors and they said they didn't need them. They ended up putting through the appliances in my garage in the box and then I tipped them an $80 fee to move some older appliances from a second kitchen into the garage gouged everything up they then did not put my back screen door on properly they left one screw out so my small children one of which is disabled could go out the back door and into the pool. I was busy Trying to get my food back in the fridge and only noticed one huge gouge on my floor which I noted on the delivery slip and I did not sign the disclaimer it wasn't until they left that I noticed a huge gouges in the stairwell and pieces of my pine stairs missing When they last I was told someone would contact me about the damages I received a call from the ownerWho was rude and claimed his son had taken pictures of the home that day and he believed his son and he didn't think there were any damages who said they would send someone out after I called a couple times to follow up since no one contacted me they sent someone out who knowledge the damages since then I have called and emailed at least seven or eight times I've even sent a letter threatening small claims I did receive a call back from one of the owners kids named Mark who yelled and screamed at me when I put a hold on the credit card payment he told me I was trying to scam them he was rude and entitled he was also one of the people that gouged out my floors that day one would think the owner son would be a little bit less callous and rude so now I'm left with gouged out floors and a broken stairwell and scratched walls. I am going to have to sue these fools in small claims court because of their horrific customer service and complete lack of respect for anyone's property I would never recommend going with these guys they have dropped the ball all around and add insult to injury there was a $20 hose I needed for my dishwasher that they left in the garage that they never delivered and I did get that refunded back to me but I had to pay my contractor to go to Home Depot to get the part at 9 o'clock at night when he was putting in the dishwasher a couple weeks later Please don't support the small business they don't care about their customers and they have notorious reputation for being rude read more

I have to say that I've had great customer service from all who work at both Salem and Ipswich locations. I'm always greeted and I've purchased our Wolf double ovens and warming drawer there. The owner and the employees have been very helpful each and every time I have gone in with questions. When I was asked by our former cabinet maker to pick up our warming drawer from the warehouse, I had also a great experience with the guys there who helped me. Wish the review would have been accepted with zero stars, so this one star i falsely rates the review from this ex-customer. I'll summarize first, in case you don't want to read my experience. Bottom Line: Don't purchase from Tri City. Don't stand behind products and don't support customers. I purchased thousands of dollars' worth of appliances at Tri City. The refrigerator has had issues from month one. It's still under warranty. Tri City does not have a service department, so I need to deal with Whirlpool (part of KitchenAid). After losing tons of food gone bad, multiple times, I called Tri City to ask for help and suggestions on what course of action I could take. I was quite distraught, since it hadn't even been a week after the last repair man was here. I was not helped. In fact I was told "We didn't make the refrigerator". I never thought they mad the product, since I'm smart enough to know an appliance store doesn't have a manufacturing plant for everything they sell. I called a different appliance dealer in Seabrook, NH (Appliance Warehouse). I needed some guidance and general information. I didn't even buy the refrigerator at this store in Seabrook , but I'll definitely buy my next one there. They gave me information on whirlpool and who to contact. Won't be visiting Tri City again...that's for sure. Don't need insult to injury. My freezer has been repaired more than 7 times in less than 3 years, and like a fool each time it was fixed, I believed it would work. It did...for only a short while. I'm out the expense of the appliance and seven times the loss of food in my freezer. The freezer only works if it's empty. And while Tri City is not responsible for the manufacturing of the appliance, I would think they would want to help a customer (now previous customer) in need. I referred several people to Tri City and they all bought products there. I wish I hadn't done that. I'll be sure to share my experience with them as well. read more
