This store had employees walking everywhere on their phones. Wasn't helping at all, I was getting an oculus and a remarkable. I waited for 10 minutes by the tech section for someone to grab it. Nobody came by to ask if we needed help. I stopped by the front asked to get both of the items. When the employee is helping me I told him, their website was one in stock, but he told me I was wrong and I must've been looking at the wrong information on BestBuy.com. Clearly it was. Walks away from me when I asked to just grab the oculus. Had to ask someone else, Julian F, stepped in and got it for me and helped me. Dont go here unless we want no customer service. read more

Today my mom and I went in to look for a DVD player. I'm in my late 40s and my mom is in her late 70s. Honestly, we were also hoping there was a VHS player there! I knew better but Mom was hopeful. Nearly everyone working there is considerably younger & more knowledgeable than we are. The greeter was perfectly helpful; telling us exactly where to go and answering my mom's cringe-worthy questions without an ounce of irritation in his voice or face. THEN, the staff member that helped us find the exact aisle to find the DVD player explained what we needed and gave ideas on how to purchase a VHS player. AGAIN, without an ounce of irritation in his voice or face. I've been watching the entirety of the world exponentially disrespect my mom with every year that she ages. Honestly disappointed. I brought my computer to geek squad somewhere in November because I kept getting a blue screen and computer freezing. I took this for them to see what they can do for me, went in to get it diagnosed, the guy told me that it could be because I had my computer running at night or over charging my computer. Said that it could be many things or hardware issues. Note that I had school during this time, I needed to turn in assignments and go to online classes the next day which was a Thursday, i was fine with waiting until I finished my semester classes. I asked the guy if I need to bring this another day for them to do then I can but if I can do it after I finished my semester class which was a week after the appointment, they guy said well it's best to do it today and said that they could get it done before 12 the next day which is Thursday because my appointment was on a Wednesday night. So I trusted them, paid $100 for this, please note that all they did was reset the computer and ran updates! I COULD LITERALLY DO THIS AT HOME! they couldn't just show me how to do it? Paid $100 for this service? Once I got there the Thursday morning around 11:30 am before 12, the guy said it wasn't even done updating, I told them that the guy I saw yesterday told me that it would be done around 12 pm the next day and I literally came yesterday to get it diagnosed. The guy looked confused, told me that it takes a couple of days for them to do this stuff instead of a day, I was honestly mad because I was told it would be done around 12 pm and it wasn't. The guy made me wait until it was done. He told me that my computer did not turn to a blue screen at all when they had it. Once I brought it back home I instantly had a blue screen again while trying to do homework on a word document. I am honestly disappointed! I still have a blue screen, I would not bring it back to geek squad again to do. They charged me $100 to reset and update my computer when I could literally do this at home if they showed me! Not only that they didn't even see a blue screen because they were on the Home Screen and left it there on. I told them that I get this blue screen multiple times when I am doing something like a word document and doing homework. They don't seem to care about me what u tell them but mostly for money. I still have the blue screen to this day, I had my boyfriend's uncle help me reset it and update for me. It still has a blue screen after these things and I would not bring it back to them again for them to "diagnose" to charge me again for something else. read more

I scheduled a repair for my phone through apple for a specified time. I arrive a bit early and get to talk to a service rep within a reasonable time after my appointment. I was informed there was a phone in front of mine, and it would be 2-3 hours before mine would be complete. A quick ~ hour appointment suddenly became a whole day event. I asked them to contact my wife's phone when mine was ready, so at least I could leave the establishment. They didn't, my phone was done 2 hours early and I received a text and email to my device being repaired.... The staff had no clue what was going on, they would drop what they were doing to try and sell any elderly couple a 100$ windows set up, or a $200 annual subscription to a subpar antivirus (note, windows defender is much better than Norton and is included with your device). read more

My husband and I went in here today to buy a tv. Best Buy's customer service is usually bad, but this time it was atrocious. We had MULTIPLE people walk by us without even making eye contact. We were looking at TVs for a solid 30 minutes without ANYONE offering any help. Upon chasing someone down (again, had multiple people walk by us on our walk to the front of the store to try to find someone to help) the woman helping us looked up the tv we wanted and informed us that it was out of stock. But then informed is that there was semi in the back had yet to be unloaded and that they tv could be on there. We could call or come in tomorrow to see. So we asked for comparable items as we were planning on leaving with a TV today. She said she was going to get someone who could help as she normally works in cellular. Fine. After waiting for 10 minutes for someone to show up and help we left the store. Lo and behold we find her (the person "helping" us) standing at the front of the store talking to a bunch of other staff members. I get it. Covid. But are you f*ing kidding me Best Buy? Unacceptable customer service! Oh, and there were maybe 10 other customers in there. It looked like similar to us, they too were being ignored. What a joke. read more

When I went to exchange the card they said there were no refunds or exchanges on gift cards even though there is nothing online that states there are no refunds or exchanges for gift cards. I called customer service and they said the same thing. When I wanted to speak to a supervisor the girl put me on hold for over thirty minutes until I finally hung up. Went in there browsing and saw some remote start products. I was interested in the phone app. I asked someone for help. They put me in a queue. Bruh what. Then this guy sat me down at a computer and started writing an estimate. I made it clear I just wanted to hold the box and look at the remote start product. I kept asking what sort of features it offered. The words coming out of this mf's mouth only contained the SKU numbers and pricing. Which btw was about 600 dollars. Later found on amazon it was 124. I fell out of love with big box stores a while ago, but sometimes you just have to tap into them. I was searching for new unlocked cell phones for the family. Best Buy had them. I trekked up there to get them and I have to say the folks there were more than accommodating. The manager of the mobile electronics area sat with me while we activated the new phones (I wanted to avoid a $35 restocking fee if I opened them and they didn't work for me). The service was excellent and we got things switched. As a technologically well-educated shopper, I can avoid a lot of the big box issues. The phone number listed on the website for the Madison Eastside location is NOT a direct number to the store. Instead, you have to deal with automated questions. Once the auto-detect finally understands what you are looking for, you are transferred and placed on hold. The person that finally answers has nothing to do with the department questions, but instead is yet another "go-between" that gathers information and then transfers you and places you on hold again. After a lengthy wait, I finally get to the person I need to talk to, she says 5 words and then the connection at the Best Buy end is cut off. Oh boy oh joy, this is fun. read more

My family and I bought phones here in December. We got the geek squad protection, because my son breaks his screen on a regular basis. He did, he went in to get his phone replaced, they sent him a new one, that was fine. Two or three months later, my phone stopped charging (Motos are bad phones now, BTW). I tried everything, went in, there was nothing they could do, so I got them to send me a new phone. The phone they sent is not the (admittedly, cheap) model I had (Moto G6); it's the even-less-expensive model with a smaller hard drive (Moto G6 Play). Which is my son's phone, and has already been replaced on this plan. I'm trying to get another appointment to get this taken care of, or to talk to the store, but every time I try to make an appointment it tells me the time is no longer available or suggests I drive to other stores between 40 minutes and 2 hours away. I tried the remote agent, and they can't help with this; they're pretty much only for people who don't understand about trying to reboot stuff. So avoid this store for sure, and probably buy phones from literally anywhere but Best Buy. read more

We love Best Buy but not the East town one due to service. We typically use west town and there customer service is the best. Recently moved and east town was closer so we just purchased an 85" tv and both times I visited the employees in the tv Dept were horrible to deal with. Thought maybe just a bad day for the group but on my second visit to pick up a wall mount the service was horrible as well. We will be driving an additional 20 mi. To not deal with this group. The sales person did a nice job and we found one on sale that we really liked. We told the sales person we would be back tonight or tomorrow to purchase as we needed to get our gift cards We returned the next day and the item was no longer on sale...$100 price increase We asked why he did not tell us about the sale ending and his only response was "ours Sales always end on Saturdays". Bought a new washing machine at this location. Price was competitive with other stores, they were able to deliver within two days of purchase. Movers were very professional and easy to deal with and had no issues hooking up the new unit. Overall a painless and easy experience. No one likes buying a washing machine. read more

This is probably the worst place for anything customer service wise. I had came here to buy a dash camera to put in my car. When I found one recommended by ab employee he told me that this specific camera is geek squad installed. So as any consumer would hopefully ask is, "what's the price of installation?" It actually wasn't bad (surprisingly), but I just didn't have the time to get it Installed that day and I asked if installations were by appointment only. I was told no. So I decided to wait to buy the camera until I could come in for an hour or so like I was told. When I came back to buy it three days later I was told that an appointment would have to be made to install the camera and they were three weeks booked out. So I guess my whole point is that it's obvious that they don't communicate well together and I wasn't provided with all the information. Pretty bad customer service from the manager. I wanted to buy a laptop accessory that I knew was sold there. They were sold out but sold the same item in a box with something else. I wanted to see if I could buy the thing I wanted but not the other item it was being sold with, again they sold both these things seperately but only had them in a box together. When I asked for the manager, I could see him on the computer while I waited, probably 5 min, for his assistance. When I talked to him, he didn't look up from the screen. He said he couldn't sell me what I wanted without me purchasing the thing it was being sold with, which doubled the price. He said he was sold out of the thing I wanted. He didn't try to help me out really at all. I asked if there was another best buy around that carried the item. He said no. I asked if he knew of another store he knew of that I could try, he said no. I asked him if he knew when they would be in stock again and he gave me an ambigous answer. He told me I could buy it online. He was not helpful at all and was not apologetic. I had to continue to ask for information that he should have offered to me. I was told that I wouldn't be charged for hook up and delivery since I bought a package that should've covered it. I called the store and the two ladies that answered the phone were rude. After being on hold for ten minutes, I was transferred to someone else who just hung the phone up. Their customer service is unreliable and rude. Don't call over there because all it will give you is a headache. Worst store/worst customer service and sales associate had no idea about the product he was selling. I will not be going back there. Part of me laments that the music and movies section of Best Buy barely exists at this point, but then when I consider how rarely I purchase either of those things anymore I realize I don't really care. We came to Best Buy with two missions: to look at car stereos and to browse tablets. My interests were in the stereos; my current vehicle lacks an aux or Bluetooth input and it'd be nice to utilize Spotify and Google Maps over my car speakers. My hope was to be able to tell a salesperson what I want and my price point and have them guide me to something, but there wasn't a salesperson to be found. Some of the specs were outlined on the printouts next to each faceplate, but they couldn't answer all of my questions. We abandoned the stereos for this trip. Next we headed over to the tablets with the intention to only check out the one my boyfriend had his eye on. We had fun playing with the features (fancy styluses FTW) and saw a sign for the Best Buy credit card. After standing around for awhile waiting for one of the computer department salespeople to come available I took myself on a walk over to the cameras and found a person at a terminal. I asked about their credit card and he was able to sign my BF up on the spot. This prompted him to go all-in and just get the tablet he wanted and the person who signed him up was able to get it for him right away even though it wasn't his assigned department. Finding help took awhile, but once we had it it was efficient and friendly. Best Buy will never be the weekly stop it was for me as a teen, but if I want to try before I buy it's still pretty reliable. read more

Best Buy is always good for the best prices, and up until now, I've never had any real problems I can recall with anything I've purchased there. There's always staff on hand and they usually are very helpful. They honor any lower price offered by any competitor. Unfortunately, we currently have found out that there is little to no communication between the online store and the physical store, and it's caused a lot of headaches, disappointment and delays. Mixed up orders, to an almost comical extent... They had us down for 6 washers and dryers instead of one of each. The customer service staff seemed unsurprised and bemused that we were having these online vs. in-store issues, and they were very ready and willing to help, with no drama. Our experience might be a little dated at this point since we're not in there everyday making big ticket purchases. First, we had a great experience buying a dishwasher there coming up on two years ago. We were just out shopping with plans to hit the usual suspects. A "kid" 1/3 to 1/2 our age helped us out and, boy, did he know his stuff about dishwashers! He walked us through all the models, pluses, minuses, worked within our budget and left us alone when we needed to chat. The experience was so good we bought on the spot forgetting about going elsewhere. Best Buy hauled away our old dishwasher and we did the install ourselves. Fast forward a year and a half and since we had such a great experience with the dishwasher we went back to check out their TVs. We were already eyeing one at Costco, but wanted to see what Best Buy had to offer. Did not care for the salesperson this time around. My husband prides himself in the amount of research he does on all our electronic purchases and was lied to about the specs on the Costco TV. Plus they were pushing to sell us a much more expensive television. So, you can guess where we bought the TV. As of last Fall, Best Buy recycled old electronics waste (like old tube TVs) for free. Throughout the years, I've had a lot of experience with this place. It had its ups and downs, but mostly we've received positive service from here. My wife and I come here pretty frequently and they've accommodated us to our satisfaction. I purchased a convection oven a while back. Noticed a dent, so I returned it. Received a new one, but the door didn't close, so I returned it. Received another new one and was happy with it. The process for the pick-up of each one I received was frustrating at times. The order was under my name, but the payment was under my wife's name. I forgot my ID one time, so they wouldn't give it to me or to my wife, despite the fact she paid for it and had the payment card with her for proof. They had some kind of explanation for it, but it was annoying to deal with. My wife has encountered some not-so-smart associates at check-out. Once, she was told she needed our rewards card and they couldn't pull up the rewards information by phone number because the line was too long and too many people were waiting....which is the biggest BS you can tell a loyal Best Buy customer. My wife rolled her eyes, bought the item, and went straight to customer service to let them know what was going on at the check out lines. It wasn't a big deal about the rewards, 'cause you can input the number on your receipt later on a computer, but it was the excuse she was given because someone was being lazy. We've had big and small purchase here and they've either been average or exceptional. If there wasn't anyone nearby a department we're interested in, we just looked for someone. I arrived early and was the first customer of the day. After 20 min the technician saud he wasn't going to be able to install this steteo in my vehicle. This is a review for two things at the Madison East Best Buy, the person who sold me a product and the Geek Squad who installed it. 1) Matt (I think) now works in the Pacific kitchen center but was sent over to help me choose an auto audio system. He used to work in the auto audio area, so I got help from someone who didn't offer to read the back of the box with me. THANK YOU! I told him what I wanted, what I didn't need and he helped me pick out a radio. The installation was going to require some extras and he assembled the entire kit, then walked me over to the installation area to get an appointment. Throughout the entire process I felt as though I was being listened to, thought about and that he was being very thorough. 2) Two weeks later I went to the Geek Squad garage behind the Best Buy to have the equipment installed. The person told me it would be an hour, it was 50 minutes, and then he went through the unit to show me how it worked. Very friendly and thorough. I have every confidence in both the unit and the installation and would recommend them to anyone needing to get an auto audio system installed. The ONLY thing keeping this from being a 5-star review is finding the Geek Squad garage. While it would seem an easy task to find the back of a store, the road and parking lot configuration in the East Town Mall area is nightmarish. Purchased high end tv with geek squad service and delivery. Had to wait 3 weeks for the delivery. Received text the night before as well as at 630am the morning of the delivery telling me to be prepared and giving me instructions. The day before the delivery we got about 4 inches of light snow. I went out the morning of the delivery and shoveled for their convenience. It was extremely cold that day. Got back in from shoveling n got phone call from delivery guy saying he just told his boss it was too cold for deliveries that day. Boss agreed. Please folks... this is Wisconsin! We hv freezing days yearly. So he would hv had to get out of his warm van, walk to the back to get the tv and walk about 20 feet into my warm house. I got off the phone fuming. I called their customer service to speak to mgr. All calls go out of the country n no way to call store directly. I texted customer service to ask why delivery man can't deliver, but employees hv to drive into the store as it was open. I got a return text with a link to careers at Best Buy as a joke. I drove to best buy, in the cold, and had them refund my purchase. Horrible customer service. The tv was to b delivered the day before Xmas Eve n was for a holiday gathering. Amazing how I could shovel and drive in the cold n I am retirement age, but the 20-30 yr old delivery man told me "I am staying home today". Never again will I purchase from Besy Buy. read more

I will never, ever purchase another product from Best Buy. I have purchased many items from this Company and have had mixed results ... until I bought my 55" TV. I purchased a SONY Bravia TV in June for about $50 more than it was available elsewhere. The Sony rep (you know who you are) at the E Springs store explained to me over and over how when I bought the thousand dollar TV I would get "Reward Points" worth $100 bringing the price to a more competitive price. Three months later, they gave me a $25 rewards certificate to shut me up (Didn't work that well) One of the worst and most reprehensible cases of bait and switch and outright lying by a sales rep I have ever seen. Please, for the love of everything good in the Universe, spend your money someplace else. Update - 8/16 My daughter went to Best Buy against my pleading and was met with more horror. The reward certificate they so graciously applied to my account was shown as redeemed the day it was issued. It was clear to everyone, including the store manager, that wasn't the case. We stood somewhat bemused as the manager called Best Buy customer support and pleaded with them for some semblance of customer service and/or humanity. Not so much, they hung up on him. I've gone from furious to disgustedly amused ... Somewhere a CEO made 12.9 MILLION dollars for building and overseeing a sham of a brand. I was going to buy some presents but when I joined the line and moved 1 position within 5 minutes I scanned the items into amazon who was the same price and they will show up on Tuesday.
