This one is a pain in the ass everyone pretends to not speak English and they will not accept used oil.

I have shopped at O'Reilly Auto Parts for too long, and today I finally came to the realization that there have to be better options to the overpriced junk they sell, or for paying 15% - 20% more for oil, air filters, spark plugs, etc. than the farm store down the block. Today I wanted to replace a single brake bleeder valve that should cost a dollar or two. I was sold an "assortment pack" from Dorman (which sells crappy aftermarket parts) for $19, only to throw away the 8 other valves I'll never use, and the one that barely fit was poorly machined. O'Reilly's "Import Direct" brand is impressively overpriced junk. I see a lot of low-income people shopping at O'Reillys working on their junky cars since they can't afford better cars or mechanics. No doubt O'Reilly stockholders are laughing all the way to the bank. read more

This is probably my favorite auto parts store in Madison, they offer more services than the Commerce Dr location by Menard's (I brought my break discs to be resurfaced here; the other location didn't offer that service), and it had parts in stock, which the other location didn't (power steering hose). Today I came at this location to buy a new battery for my car. I was pleasantly surprised when an associate named Erasmo offered to install it for me and did it pretty quickly. In addition to that, I bought a steering wheel cover, which wasn't easy to put on. Erasmo helped putting it on as well! Sales associates like Erasmo are really making night and day difference in customer experience, they really go above and beyond and make people come back to their store because of their courtesy. I will be coming back to this store for my future car-related needs! read more

My experience with O'Reilly was about as easy as can be. The horn on my car died and the dealer gave me an estimate of $150 to replace it. I looked up the part and replacement instructions online and figured I could do it myself with my dad's tools and made my way over. Horns were conveniently in the first aisle so I didn't have to do much looking around. Since I had scoped the part online I knew exactly what I was looking for on the shelf, which made it even easier. I took my purchase to the register and was checked out efficiently. The cashier told me to keep my receipt in case of return and I was on my way in under five minutes. O'Reilly does offer an order online/pick-up in store function that I'll keep in mind in the future; their aisles are pretty packed so it was sheer luck I was able to find my part so quickly. I am sure one of the employees would have helped me locate what I needed if I had asked, but it's also nice to just walk up to the counter if I can order ahead. read more

I recently purchased a used vehicle a couple months ago. Now that the weather is rainy, snowy and sloppy, I'm using the wipers frequently. The rear wiper was making a lot of noise... a scraping noise. I assumed it needed a new blade, but I wasn't absolutely sure. So, I went to O'reilly Auto Parts, because it was near other retail outlets that I was making a trip to anyway. I was very pleasantly surprised by the young man who assisted [Sorry, I don't now his name] me with my purchase, because he followed me out to my car and replaced the wiper blade for me. It took him a few minutes to figure out which of the alternate parts of attachment to my vehicle was the right one to use, but other than that he handled the replacement quickly. Given that it was a cold and windy night, and very unpleasant, and I'd never replaced 1 of these before, I was extremely pleased that he did this for me and I was in-and-out of there total in about 15 or so minutes. One of my windshield wiper blades blew off as I was driving during a bad storm. This was the closest store to me. The clerk looked up which wiper blades would fit my car, explained that I should get two different-sized ones, and installed the wiper blades for me. This was all really helpful because I was sick that day and really didn't want to mess around with trying to put on new wiper blades. He was great. Young guy, maybe 5'3, glasses, dark hair at the store on Watts Rd in Madison WI. I hope he is there next time I need something because he was super helpful. read more

They lied. It was late (8:30 pm) and I was about to go on a trip and one of my wipers had torn. I stopped in and said I wanted to get silicone instead of rubber windshield wipers. I know silicone is a better product and so you'd expect to pay more for SILICONE. I asked several times before purchase "Do you have silicone blades?" "Yes" "What you are recommending is silicone, not rubber?" Yes" "I see this is expensive. This is silicone and not rubber?" "yes" I purchased and installed the blades and went on my way. That night I looked up the reviews of the "BOSH Icon" blades they sold me ..... Rubber. I'm so angry that I was lied to and sold more expensive blades that are NOT SILICONE that I am leaving the first review I've ever left for a company. read more

I was really unhappy with the customer service here. I was trying to exchange something, and it took 10 minutes. The guy took two phone calls while he was working on my exchange. He wandered off to look for a part for someone who was on the phone. Then he started pricing hoses for another caller. He only got serious about helping me when I said, "If you can't finish this transaction in the next two minutes, I would like to return these for a refund immediately." He was done in 45 seconds. We stopped in to look for a battery charger and were given friendly, courteous, insightful service. We were also given some really great information, which was - if we needed a new battery they could do it here for us if they had the battery in stock and there would be no service charge! I experienced great customer service on my first visit. I simply needed wiper blades and the employee quickly looked up my car model, got my blades for me from the isle, and quickly checked out. On top of that, the employee offered to walk with me to my car in the parking lot and replace the wipers for me. Within minutes, I had my new blades purchased and installed. Quick and easy! Compared to the other reviews that mentioned slow service, I may have picked the right time to go because it wasn't very busy. Would they have offered to change my blades if it was busy? Maybe not... but if I had to rate my only experience with them, they definitely went beyond my expectations. read more

Was recently extremely let down when I had vehicle troubles while driving from Ohio to Tacoma Washington. My vehicle stalled out and loss voltage in Madison WI. Road side assistance aided me in getting a jump and I called to ask if diagnostic service was available for alternator and batteries and they confirmed the service. I came in and bought sea foam and asked if I could have my vehicle battery and alternator checked. Aaron did the check and within ten seconds he says battery. I proceed to remove my battery and purchased one from Eric since Aaron seemed done serving me. I installed the battery in the parking lot and started the truck. My voltage was still erratic on the gauge. I went back into the store and Eric asked if everything was okay. I asked him to try the test equipment again after sharing the voltage gauge info. New battery in he indicated to me the tester showed excessive ripple like 9.3 and conclude the alternator needed changed. I asked if I could exchange my battery back he assured me I could. Now I uninstalled the battery and Ken came out . Ken refuses to accept the battery back after a misdiagnosis by Aaron led to my battery purchase. I bought the alternator and changed it in the parking lot. Eric was apologetic and explained to Ken I had not left the lot he said he didn't care , I said Aaron needed retrained as I could have been broke down on the road and due to his apparent lack of interest in his job or attention to detail. Eric needs promoted Ken and Aaron need retraining. The customer shouldn't have to absorb the cost of improper attentiveness of the customer service person. Train them to diagnostics proper or don't offer the service to just milk customers read more

I've shopped here several times for items for my motorcycle and the staff always acts like I'm tearing them away from something more important. And to top it off the guy checking me out stared at my chest the whole time. read more
