We visited Best Buy tonight and had such a great experience! Every employee that we came across was happy, helpful and was really trying hard to work within our budget! They never made us feel rushed and answered all of our questions. The manager Thurston was so patient and even though he was busy he made us feel percent important. He came back to check on us and in the end we purchased a laptop computer. He found an "open box " deal and made my teenage daughter feel like a rockstar when he handed it to her and wished her good luck in school. Went in today because I made an appointment online to repair my phone. Came in on time and asked some employees where I should go. They said since I had an appointment I should wait for the next associate at the repair bar and tell them I'm next. I asked the 2 people in line if they had appointments and they said no. So when the next person was available I went up and said I had appointment 5-10 minutes ago. The man at the bar said I had to wait in line and refused to serve me. Why the hell do they offer appointments if I have to wait in line? Along with that once I was served I was told they have no parts for my phone when I specifically made an appointment for my model and selected parts. What a joke. Give me an appointment for when you have the parts available at least instead or wasting my gas and time. Along with this, there are also often out of everything all the time. Even if you go on their site to check inventory before you go it'll be totally wrong. Waste of time and employees are incompetent. read more

When making a large electronics purchase, I prefer seeing the item in person versus taking a chance by ordering online. Best Buy allows for this experience. This place has it all. I'm consistently in awe whenever I walk in here. It's certainly hard NOT to leave with at least one item (yay for impulse shopping). The store is laid out well and features numerous sectioned areas. I enjoy the format as I can walk to the exact area I want to instead of trying to piece together items throughout the store. The sales staff have always been stellar and tend to approach me before I try and find them. Although it's their job, this is much appreciated. I'm not the most technologically-savvy person and the crew here knows how to point me to the right direction. The merchandise here is competitively priced and there are often good sales. I've taken advantage of numerous Black Friday deals (including an awesome pair of Sony headphones which I use daily) - seriously, the best time to shop here if you can brave the crowds. Ordered a new refrigerator on-line and scheduled delivery. Got emails and texts all week confirming a 5 hour delivery window on Friday. On the day of, received texts and emails telling me its on the truck, on the way, expected delivery at 9:50... then near the end of the delivery window I get a text telling me I need to call to schedule delivery. When I called I was told it was not delivered to the warehouse, was never on the truck and they could schedule delivery a week later. Complete waste of my time! We opened up season 4 of Big Bang Theory the other night to continue watching from the beginning. Alex had a few different seasons and I started filling in the holes last year. Neither disk worked so we brought it in to Best Buy Goleta to exchange it, because it was clearly defective. However, it wasn't under my Best Buy account (other seasons were) and he had no idea who would have given it to him so they said they couldn't do anything! Excuse me?? It's good to have a big box electronics store in Santa Barbara but Best Buy left the customer service at home. I needed a replacement ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for my iPhone and knew that Best Buy carried the product (Apple store does not). I discovered that they carry the product for many phones. The problem was finding the one for the iPhone. Here's where Best Buy needs organizational skills. The product was on display in 4 separate areas around the mobile phone area. 4! A large display with a huge selection then 3 smaller, some times only 1 style, gathers no where near each other. Looking like a lost puppy a sales associate finally approached me and tried to help. I use tried lightly. He walked around a little, looked in a drawer, helped another person then came back to tell me they were out of what I wanted. Ok, thanks. Not taking no for an answer, I wandered around the area discovering hidden treasure troves of invisibleSHIELD. Milling through various containers not organized in any way I could understand, I found the winner. 30 minutes in Best Buy to find 1 item. They had it but sad customer service and poor display skills wasted my time. read more

Best Buy has been up and down for years. Only thing keeping them competitive is matching Amazon. I've been using them to see and touch what I want to purchase online. This day I found some blu-Ray movies I wanted in the $5.99 bin. There were two movies I wanted and they had no pricing. These rang up over the marked $5.99. One worker was delaying with them wanting to match. I told them it was against the law to charge more then what was marked or price displayed. They ignored me until I showed them the law and they were braking it. I usually don't like big-box retailers. Price is always good, but service lacks. Pleasantly I can say that Best Buy doesn't suffer from this issue. The store was closing and my car was parked far away; parking is hard to get in IV. I had just leased a new place and needed a cable modem that night. I called Best Buy and got Rebecca, who made sure that the modem I needed was ready when I got there and that security let me in to buy it just as the store closed. I purchased a laptop yesterday. The sales rep had given me false information. So I came in the next day to make changes to my order because of the false information I had been given. As I was explaining the situation to the manager he continuously cut me off and laughed in my face. He was rude and unhelpful. He made sure to mention that he had worked there for 18 years. The feeling I have is that he has lost his sense professionalism, including communication and customer skills and has no tolerance with dealing with problems. It seems he is sick of dealing with customer issues. I will not be coming here again. As a manager, when somebody comes in with an issue you need to listen to them respectfully and then problem solve. Will not come here again. read more

We asked to speak to someone who could help us and a fellow named Jay came to help us. I have never met someone so knowledgable about appliances. We just bought a house and have a bit of decision fatigue. He properly identified our requirements, narrowed down the choices, and helped guide us to the right answer. He spent so much time with us and was so good at his job that I felt compelled to leave this review, which I do not often do. I was leaning towards buying the same appliances at Home Depot since they had better financing options but Jay was ultimately able to seal the deal for Best Buy. Sisco and Susie in customer service were extremely helpful and nice, beyond normal responsibility to customers. We were looking really desperately for switch controllers and everywhere was sold out, Best Buy was our last shot. They looked in the back for us and even though they didn't find the ones we were looking for, they suggested a controller that is still compatible and it worked out perfectly. When we came back with it, everyone was so happy for us and smiling and very very nice. This was all at the very end of their shift too- I work in customer service and its hard to even be civil to customers at the very end of my shift, so I was blown away. Went in to buy some Astro A50's and a Corsair M65 RGB mouse and check out went real smooth. Bob helped me out during checkout and man everytime He is just the super nicest guy ever. He asked me to wait a moment while he wiped down the counter and credit card machine with disinfectant spray during this COVID crisis then waved me over and told me that it's all good to go. He struck up a conversation about the A50's and I told him my reason for buying a set (I have another one of these but I got tired of disconnecting the USB from my Xbox to my PC; opposite ends of the room) and he's like ya I can totally understand that. He told me about his PS4 and when he got it and how he plays every now and then and I recommended some games for him and his wife and about how a Nintendo Switch has more games aimed towards multi-player. He helped me a previous time (I don't think he remembers that lol) when I got 4 Transformer movies all steelbook and was curious as to why I got them. I just told him as a collector, they look nice and they're sometimes rare to get depending on how high the demand for that movie is and his curiosity as to why is just really cool. He's genuine and interested in you and your purchase and I've never seen him be rude to anyone. And he was sure to offer me the warranty plans for my products just in case! I was hesitant on one of them since it was kinda costly it he assured me that i have 15 days after date of purchase to get the warranty if I change my mind! Super chill guy! Thanks again Bob! I bought a warranty for geek squad for a new tv from bestbuy and the tv broke within a few months and so I made an appointment with the squad to fix it. Three weeks later, the guy who is supposed to come to my house calls and tells me my warranty is not active under the tv manufacturer I bought. So instead of telling me this three weeks ago they made me make an appointment and waste time and told me the day of. They also never mentioned this when I bought the warranty at best buy, they should have told me that type of tv is not applicable (hisense). I would have bought a toshiba or different brand. Associates are so occupied pushing warrantys they don't disclose any of the details about them. What is the point of a warranty if you can't use it? They told me to deal with the tv company to get repairs and that they couldn't help me at all, unless I wanted to wait until DECEMBER for them to be able to fix it under their warranty. It is JULY. I will never spend another dime at bestbuy and I am gonna cancel my geeksquad "warranty". What a joke. Do NOT deal with these scammers or company. read more

Would give zero stars. Went in to buy a laptop charger. They have open box deals for laptop chargers. I bought one and realized it was broke when i got home. I drove 30 min to get here and back for a broken charger. I had to go back to return it and they wouldnt give me any deal for the trouble and i actually had to pay more for a new one because THEY SOLD ME A BROKEN CHARGER. Worst customer service too they didn't even know what kind of charger would work with my laptop. No knowledge and no "sorry for the trouble". Not even an apology or any understanding. Shit store. Surprisingly, my Goleta Best Buy is really great. I look around and see reviews of products before I go in, ask a bunch of questions, and I NEVER EVER feel like they're trying to upsell me. Andrea in mobile is also delightful, and even looked up other prices of a Bose headset to see if they could pricematch to give me a better price. How great is that? Thank you !! And the GeekSquad guys are always amazing -- my laptop wifi was on the fritz, I was kinda expecting I might need a new laptop, but Alex said "nope, not yet, let's just get a new wireless yada ya." Come to find out that there WAS a Black Friday deal for $150 less than what I paid. I went this week and told the customer service personnel what had happened and was only asking for the price difference. They told me there was nothing they could do. This store really needs to hire some more people. I've been there multiple times when I'm trying to find something and I cannot find a person to ask. Even worse, there is often a long line at checkout because only one person is working the registers. In fact, I've rarely ever seen more than one person at the registers despite there being four of them. I've waited 20 minutes to check out from here before.
