I brought a few alcohol items to the customer service counter and asked if I could purchase it there, the girl told me I have to walk back to line and she didn't want to help. We have had good experiences with the Goleta Target store in past years while my son and I enjoyed buying toys and Hot Wheels. However, over the past few months we have had several unpleasant experiences, especially in the Hot Wheels section. There is an employee named Danny who consistently gives us a hard time. At first we thought he was only treating us this way, but it turns out he behaves the same way toward other collectors as well. On several occasions, we have witnessed incidents where he had a U-boat cart full of toys and other die-cast items. Instead of stocking the Hot Wheels pegs, he pushed the entire cart to the back. When other collectors politely tried to ask about it, he simply ignored everyone and continued walking without saying anything. We enjoy shopping at this store and collecting Hot Wheels with my son, and we hope management can address this situation. Please do not let one employee make the whole store experience become sour for customers. It might be better if he were transferred to another department instead of continuing to handle the toy section, so the experience can be more positive for customers and collectors. read more

Comfort can be found in many places. Target is one of them, the lighting is bright and uplifting. While the prices of everything are going up due to inflation, Target still has some reasonably priced items. Despite that, all the self checkout lanes were closed, and the register lines were a bit long. I did find what I was looking for: toothbrushes, pet treats, and a frame. read more

1 star I bought a $100 Apple Gift Card at Target Goleta, and just 5 minutes after leaving, I opened it and the code was completely unreadable. I went back immediately. The cashier was kind, but customer service was awful. The girl at the desk kept repeating, "I understand, but there's nothing I can do." When I asked for the manager (tall, bearded, with an earring), he said the same thing -- no help at all. Neither wore a name tag. They said it wasn't their problem, even though I bought it right there minutes earlier. I lost $100, but Target lost a loyal customer. I deleted the app and won't return. At Albertsons, a manager once had a similar issue resolved in minutes. He called support for me and stayed until it was fixed. That's customer service. Target Goleta, do better. read more

I like this target! It is big and has lots of things. I go often. I did order a same day delivery from this store and the wrong product was delivered, which sucked because it created more work for me. Should've just gone there in the first place. In Santa Barbara there are two Target Stores. One is a mega store, the other a much smaller version. The mega store has a good selection, the mini store is okay, but a considerably smaller selection The prices are steadily increasing at Target, and there's little advantage to shopping there. Costco has much lower prices, and Trader Joe's has a great many unique products. If Target turns into Macys, or JC Penney, etc we know what that looks like. read more

My card was never refunded even though I have the receipt and my card was charged for the repurchase minus the amount left on my gift card. First off I'm a huge first fan and this one also has a Starbucks. Love that I can get my drink and shop at the same time. This is a full sized target but not a superstore. They have a small section of food plus all the normal stuff. This store is on the smaller side compared to the ones in Ventura/Oxnard but gets the job done and HUGE improvement from the old Kmart. I love that I can use my target red card and save an extra 5%. There are also great coupons on their app. This store would get 4 stars if they cleaned it more often. read more

Ok i am going to point out I'm a Target lover and addict. However, this store is such a disappointment. For being so big, they don't have much and space is wasted. I also feel rushed at this store; don't know if it's due to the lack of inventory or set up but i can usually spend over an hour and $100 easily at any other Target. Not the case for this store. Let's talk about my check out experience tonight. There were about five or six registers opened and long lines. I stood in line and when it was my turn, a staff member (not the cashier) turned off the register light and told me to get in a new line. Excuse me!?!? I've been waiting and those lines are long! As my girl Abbey F. said, "Started from the bottom, now we're here." Today has hit the red bullseye! One of my absolute favorite stores has FINALLY arrived in the Santa Barbara area. Not to mention, only blocks from my house in Goleta! While it is a full-sized Target, it is unfortunately not a Super Target with a limited grocery area. I first went online since I received a coupon for an extra 5% off (a total discount of 10%) when I use my Target RedCard, but not valid for in store. I figured I would try their "Order Online" Drive-up service using an electronic cart. I was only able to order a couple things because practically everything I needed was "Not In Store at Goleta". There is also a "bag fee" of $1, however it is waived if you use your own reusable bags. It was convenient though. I received a text when my order was ready for pick-up, drove on over there to the west-end of the store, let the employee know my name, they verified my ID and bam! We transferred the items into my bags and I drove off. I am happy to announce that this location is combined with a CVS Pharmacy AND a Starbucks inside! Now all they need is an Amazon Locker outside and a Chase Bank ATM, and I will have everything I need to survive in one block radius. Thanks Target! read more

First off I would like to say that I have never seen such a poorly run and messy Target store in my life! I came in with my daughter and we were both shocked with how much clothes and merchandise were on floors and customers and workers there too having to walk over it. There also isn't much selection in this store either and everything just seems to be out or not stocked...or on the floor! I also did not get any help either! My daughter and I were walking all around the store to find a worker there to help us find the price on a shirt that had no tag on it and it felt like all the workers there were trying to ignore you or not even want to approach you to help granted all the people who work there seemed to be young college students. I was pretty disappointed because the last time I came in was when the Target first opened in October and everything was new and I was excited to finally have a Target so nearby too. Overall, I would say that you'd find a cleaner and better stocked store with awesome people if you took the time to drive out to the Ventura Targets. read more

Just got back from the Target in Goleta and has an absolutely wonderful experience. They have literally everything you can imagine (including an escalator that can accommodate a shopping cart!). But the greatest part of all was actually the amazing checkout experience with Brynda. She was so friendly and efficient and she not only packed up every single bag we had but also helped us out to the car! Every store should have customer service like Brynda provided. First of all, if they don't answer the phone, you get disconnected. Secondly, if you call the main number optical answers. Yet they can't seem to correct it. Third, BE VERY CAREFUL, if you use Apple Pay and try to return something, even if you have the receipt,they won't give you your money back they will only give you store credit. Don't let them tell you that they refunded your money on your Apple Pay. It does not work. And now you're out the merchandise and the receipt.Somehow their system is antiquated. Four. We fought so hard to get a Target in town. So glad to have both stores, the Galleria is more convenient for me. Went to Goleta today to see the latest spring offerings. The dressing room clerk was kind and attentive. The store, however? What a pig sty. I mean it was early enough in the day where I am pretty sure the racks were never organized prior to opening. Maybe it is an employee shortage?! But really hard to locate things and know what's on sale and not. I picked something off what I thought was a sale rack and turns out it was full price. I just miss the days where you could go close to when it opened and things were tidy. Reminds me of Ross and Marshall's whereas I always had Target in a different retail category. Snap out of it. Finally the real target opens in Santa Barbara (Goleta). It's located at the old Kmart location and is everything that Kmart wasn't. The store fills huge and wide open with everything easy to find. There's also a CVS pharmacy and Starbucks located inside, so it's basically a one stop shop for me. This Target is smaller then a Super Target but is on par with one as it has a grocery section. Overall the prices are the same or on par with other Target locations. Mainly the convenience of actually having a Target nearby is worth everything. read more

Inconsistent would be the word to describe this Target store but only because of how unbalanced the it is as far as their in store stock. Bathroom section stocked but then the kitchen department next door half the aisles are empty. Oh well. One big plus is their market section. This Target is very poorly managed. It never has anything in stock. I was in dire need of cream cheese for my cheesecake and of course they let me down. I had to go to Albertson's instead!!! Also, the tech section is always out of stock as well. My ex-roommate's cat has broken my iphone charger and laptop charger and on both occassions, Target did not have what I needed. Today I had the worst experience at this particular target. I was checking my self out on the self check out and security guard approached me and ask to see inside the backpack that I had just bought. I said ok because I knew there was nothing inside. I feel stereotyped and targeted because I'm Hispanic. The security guard didn't even apologize. His excuse was he wanted to make sure there was no trash or other items inside the bag. One of Goleta's decades-in-the-making fantasies has finally come to fruition! Kmart out, Target in. Target is one of my favorite places to shop for just about anything. Their store format and merchandise selection is fresh and current. Paired with remarkable prices, there's really no reason to go elsewhere. This location has been open for a little over a year. Having grown up in Goleta and been to the prior tenant's store countless times, I am consistently awestruck over just now much Target was able to transform the space into what it is today. It's beautiful! I do enjoy the smart racetrack-style layout with the seasonal department in the very back corner. This forces the customer to walk through the store and likely pick up other merchandise on the way. I see you, Target. This particular store has a large side drive-up area for retrieving online purchases and I feel it's a great option to have - especially with Covid in place. Drive up, stay in your car, have your item loaded, and no shipping costs. A no-brainer if you ask me. I will be back soon! read more

I normally give commendations when I leave a feedback but this time it is different. I've been a patron of Target for a long time that is why customer service is important to me. Yesterday (Feb. 7th) I had a drive up at Target Goleta for 4 different purchases. Like the usual routine (due to COVID) someone would just place the items at the back of your car. After the items were left by Matthew and I inspected them, I thought 1 bag was missing since it was placed at the back most area and not together with the other bags for my new purchases (since I'm a Target patron there are already a few old Target bags in the trunk with my other stuff). So, I thought the important bag with all the vitamins are lost, due to this I went inside the store and spoke with Matthew. I told him that it seems that the order for vitamins are missing. So, he went to the backroom and I waited outside, when he got back he was speaking on the phone and was saying: "What she is saying is impossible!" This is rude and bad customer service but I let it slide and told him, we could check the back of the car since it is not with the other new purchases that were grouped together. He seemed annoyed and irrititated already but it was an honest mistake- I admit I got confused but Matthew handled the issue in an unprofessional manner. Upon learning that the bag was placed together with my older Target purchases, I apologized but he arrogantly turned his back and dismissed my apologies as if I was a nuissance. Being courteous and professional is important when one works in the service industry especially nowadays that the world needs extra kindness. The employees of a company are walking IDs, they reflect the company's culture and values. Being courteous is an important aspect of customer service. read more
