Went in to pick up some electronics. Stood in the apple area for a while, I seen some staff assisting customers in the area so I waited. After no customers wasn't around I was hoping someone would assist me for the supplies that I needed. I counted at lease 5 different employee walked right past me and not even asking if I needed help. I had to go into another department just to get help. Pretty much the staff judge the customers on how they dressed which is a sad thing. I dropped $3500 for the things I needed. The saga continues. A second oven range was delivered today and it was also damaged during shipping so I couldn't accept it. It had a dented back and pinched wires which is. A fire hazard. I've now been waiting for 2 months for my new oven because the first oven was damaged also and missing a part. It takes about 2 weeks at the soonest for a delivery. Dealing with customer service is terrible because I have to wait until the next business day after the return because it takes them that long to update the order status on their side. You call a number on the mainland and get kicked around. I want to cry I'm so frustrated. They wanted more money to replace the oven when the third delivery attempt showed it was back ordered and the wait was 4 months! Any decent customer service rep would have just swapped the oven out and ate the extra $50 cost but Luis doubled down and said there was nothing he could do and not even a supervisor could help. Trying to get anyone to answer the phone locally and help sort out the issue is impossible. You get routed to their main number which is all automated and doesn't understand any prompts so add that frustration on top of it taking forever for your appliance to arrive in working order. Apparently going to the store to pick it up takes over a week longer than delivery. Nothing has been fast or easy dealing with this. I do not recommend buying appliances with them. The warehouse does not open the boxes to check for damage BEFORE they deliver, which is a waste of everyone's time. I wasted about 6 hours of my time on the phone, chat and email with customer service and preparing for a delivery that never came (twice!). The warehouse delivery guys never check the appliance back into the warehouse so it shows up as delivered in the system (this happened both times). Never again... I happily paid $200 more to have Lowe's deliver an oven instead. read more

Thank you to Caz who alerted the manager Zach to help us with the multiple returns. We were at customer service for one hour and Ryan was trying to help us, but there was an issue with the computer. He was having a hard time with retrieving the information. We walked away to pay for items and we're going to leave. Caz was helpful in listening to my frustrations. I just recently purchased an 80 in projector stand and screen from here. I am very satisfied by my purchase. They didn't have what I needed at the Pearl City location so the staff assisted me in purchasing it online for pick up in Honolulu. The process was seamless and I felt comfortable purchasing such high priced items ($257+) because they allowed for the items to be returned within 30 days. Just went to Best Buy and purchased 8 big appliances for my home. With the expert help of Tony , it was a smooth, efficient, and enjoyable process. The last time I bought appliances I went to Lowe's and got PTSD from the delivery procedure which took all day and night to arrive. I felt like I was held hostage in my home waiting . Morning passed no word. Noon passed no word. I tried calling but the phone rang 24 times and no answer. Finally a human called me today they were on their way but their truck was stalled due to a dead battery!!! $&@#%^*!!! In stark contrast, delivery from Best Buy was super efficient. I was contacted by text and able to call the driver to confirm and give him extra directions. He had good clear English communication skills which made it so much easier. A subcontractor, he arrived as scheduled with his Cybertruck, dropped off my oven, had me sign, and was good to go ! It was an amazingly smooth procedure compared with the store down the street that starts with L for Lowes on my list of places to shop! 4 stars because sometimes you have to wait a while until a salesperson can help you. read more

I will never ever buy any kind of electronics from Best Buy EVER again. I got a laptop there-- it never really worked well. It often jams, is really slow, sometimes just shuts down out of nowhere, sometimes won't let me log in and I have to force a shut down. I paid $200 extra for a better warranty, but can they help me with these issues? Nope, I have to pay another $300 if I want that fixed, and would have to send it in for 6 weeks. Then, the sound breaks down on me. Okay, that they can fix because it's under my warranty. Mind you, I've only had this laptop for just over a year now, and it's been giving me problems since the start. I also bought a monitor from them. After 2 months it won't connect to my laptop anymore. The same laptop I bought from them. It connects to other laptops and my laptop connects fine to other screens, but this ONE connection doesn't work. I bring it in for them to look at. They say it's because I "pressed a wront button somewhere". It'll be $200 to fix that. Even though I got a fucking warranty on it. THEN, the monitor screen just won't turn on anymore. Not that I was using it anyway, but still. It look broken EVEN THOUGH I HAVEN'T TOUCHED IT because it didn't work with my laptop, remember?? So I send it in for repairs. Since I have a really old Surface Pro 3, I just thought I'd drop by Best Buy to shop for a new laptop. I knew I wanted small, powerful and with lots of storage. Joey stepped forward to assist me. Polite, professional and knowledgeable, I couldn't ask for more. He showed me the ones that were on sale but I told him my kids did the Lenovos are great so we looked at those. I had a great experience discussing electronics and appliances with their staff members, who were friendly, efficient, and knowledgeable. I went at a time when I knew they wouldn't be busy, so I'm sure that helped with how much energy and time they could spend. The installations themselves went smoothly and were surprisingly quick! There was some confusion among their delivery subcontractors the day-of, as Best Buy had booked two separate teams for the delivery / installation, but apart from that, I was impressed with the overall experience. Keith in the Samsung section went above and beyond with finding exactly what I needed and making sure it would work for us. Keith was knowledgeable, efficient, and patient. Then, we tried it out, and -- it works really well! After it's set up, it can work without WiFi. We're just showing that one program. Made the text size nice and big. My Mac Air is also from here. What I purchase most is video games. I have my Nintendo Switch. They're often out of the popular games. I don't play as much as I used to, so I just browse to see what games they have in stock. Service can be spotty. Sometimes you can find an employee to help you. My GOU was acting up and I called Best Buy to see if they could test it to see if it was the source of the problem. Their support said to bring it in and the Geek Squad could take a look at it. I showed up and Geek Squad said that I need to haul in the whole PC. So, since I was there I thought I would check out what GPUs they had in stock. Looks like they are sponsored by Nvidia. They stocked several of those overpriced cards. I only found one AMD card. After staring at the case, for about 15 min a sales clerk asked if I needed help. I asked about the limited stock and they said that they would get another sales associate that could better assist me. No one ever came and I left empty handed and frustrated. Hawaii's lack of a good source for computer parts is depressing and Best Buy has failed to fill in this gap. read more

Yup, 3 long hours of him showing us different brands and going over differences. His attentive to details helped us make the purchase so much more enjoyable. He also shared his two cents on two power bank I was debating of buying, Anker & Belkin. 04/15/26 I went into Best Buy to get a computer printer. I asked a passing store member for help, but his answer was, "I work in another area, and you should wait by the sales desk." So, I waited at the cashier's desk for a sales staff that could help. I noticed that the sales staff was working by himself, and that he was helping someone else, so I waited patiently. I thought, he would only take a few minutes then check back if the person had not decided to make a purchase. I waited for a while and saw three other people who looked at me waiting, so they began to wait too. One by one they left, after waiting for a while. I began to time the event so I could say how long I had been waiting. Another person came by and asked, "Are you waiting for help?" I said, "Yes." Apparently, he just had a question about an external CD player. We had a nice conversation. Meanwhile, two other people joined us waiting. It was about this time that [Sky] (who was wearing a Geek Squad shirt) came by and asked is there anything he could help with. He quickly helped me select a printer and rang up the sales. I asked if I could schedule a Geek Squad member to help with the installation, but he said he would have to check. He said he could not schedule that but got me a phone number that I could call. I finally left the store with my printer in hand. 1. Many thanks to [Sky] for coming to the rescue and attending to my needs. 2. I think some of your staff may need some training on customer service. 3. I had waited over an hour for help. I don't blame others for abandoning their wait, their time is precious. Lucky I'm retired. 4. Being involved with a customer, does not mean ignoring your other customers. At the very least you can acknowledge those waiting, thank them for being patient, and give some sort of estimate how much longer they might have to wait. read more

The place for all things electronics... Remembering back in the Comp USA days that I've frequent this location as I am no expert of how to install, operate and troubleshoot it all as I slowly discovered the computer world. Fast forward to the present with all things internet and modern technology of doing it all yourself I'd never imagine doing so but have learned so much here with their advice and assistance. On this visit as I purchased a new iPhone and needed some accessories was hoping to find it here...and as I walked in feeling hopeful several staff manning the front was more into their conversation and more so for security purposes never gave me much thought, prices comparable and are pretty high...not much different so the drive all the way out here wasn't worth the effort along with the construction that added to the insane traffic. I found myself at Best Buy's Honolulu location in desperate need of printer ink. After I did an inventory check at other office supply businesses (I learned there were no Staples in Hawaii), this store location was the only one in relative proximity that had any in stock. Normally, I would order these on Amazon or Ebay, but I needed ink ASAP. I was generally fine with the Best Buy brand, but I found myself shopping with them commonly as a last resort since I felt there were better options. At best, was I able to buy what I needed and maybe things I didn't!? PURCHASE Canon 275 B/W & 276 Color Ink Set ($29.99 x3): Thankfully, the in-store inventory matched what I found online, so I bought all that they had. These were smaller cartridges compared to ones I was more familiar with; therefore, they ran out of ink quicker. After I returned to where I was staying, I inserted the ink cartridges, printed out the documents I needed, and I was satisfied with the results. I purchased an item from this Best Buy as a birthday gift for my daughter. Because a Best Buy employee set the wrong shipping address without confirming anything with me, the delivery was delayed for over a week, and FedEx eventually notified me that the package had been "returned to the shipper." I went to the store to ask for help and speak with the manager. He was dismissive from the beginning--no apology for his staff's mistake, no willingness to assist, and absolutely no sense of responsibility. Instead, he told me, "There's nothing we can do. You'll have to wait one month until the system automatically cancels the order and issues a refund." I realized he had no intention of trying to help, so I gave up expecting anything constructive and simply asked for a refund. He responded by saying, "We can't do that," and then threatened me by saying, "If you keep talking, I'll call security." I was stunned. I have never encountered such unprofessional and hostile behavior from a store manager. In the end, I had to contact American Express directly, and they resolved the issue and issued a refund--something this store should have handled from the beginning. This experience was unbelievable. Ordered a new 18 cu.ft refrigerator and was delivered July 29th, 2025. Today is Nov.10th, 2025. The fridge was delivered with both crisper drawers cracked. Delivery person took pictures and filled a claim the same day as delivery. Since then, they have been going to replace the drawers many times and have made several delivery dates and never came. Today was another delivery date no show and after waiting all day, Shane from BestBuy Geek Squad called and said they cannot get the drawers, order was cancelled and what do I want to do. I expressed to him how unhappy I am and said "If you can't get the drawers then send me another refrigerator!" You have to deal with bots which arranged an appointment for me to bring our defective microwave in that we bought last December only to find out they don't deal with that kind of issue in the store and don't offer any warranty unless you purchase it. We would like to commend Naz, the front Security Guard at the entrance for going above and beyond in helping us. We didnʻt see any Best Buy staff around to ask where we could find a USB cord but saw the Security Guard in front. We decided to just ask him and he was very knowledgeable, pleasant and extremely helpful in showing us where and which cord we needed to purchase. We were so amazed with his willingness to help us, so as we were checking out, we asked the cashier if he ever worked in the Best Buy store cuz he was very knowledgeable and just knew where to take us. The cashier said no, heʻs the Security Guard but has been with Best Buy for awhile. We said we need to ACKNOWLEDGE NAZ cuz although he wasnʻt a Best Buy staff, he took the time to address us, showed us exactly to where the USB cords were and assisted us in which one we were looking for and to purchase. Customer service needs improvement. We waited around for help with purchasing a television and the only 2 customer service people in that department were busy with other customers. That was not the problem. We waited and waited. No one even acknowledged us to let us know they knew we were there or would be helped. They saw us there and nothing. Finally my husband decided to go up front just to purchase the tv. The front cashier asked if we had wanted help and had people in that department who could help. We explained then he went to the back, probably to ask the guys who were ignoring us for help. I can't say enough good things about Best Buy Honolulu. I had a problem with my printer and they ended up taking it back and giving me a store credit which I used to buy a bigger, better printer. I also had a problem with the wifi not connecting on my laptop and I was offered several solutions for my convenience, not for making more sales for Best Buy. Uncle Ru and his team at Geek Squad are all great, today Ashton helped me, they all are lovely and low key and top notch. Cameron helped me pick out the upgraded printer, really listened to what my needs are, actually talked me out of one that would have been overkill. One of my staff recommended buying one of the Best Buy Memberships, which I did, I really recommend it, I have 4 devices on it and it takes the worry out of electronics. read more

Awful customer service. Canceled delivery without notifying me. Impossible to contact someone to learn the status of my order.

Rude and unhelpful customer service at the store. I was there to buy the latest Kindle and, clearly, I ruined this particular employee's day by asking him questions. He was rude. He said they're completely "sold out" of Kindles even though I knew they still had one model in stock. He went so far as to say "no one" at Best Buy really knows anything about Kindles. He wouldn't let me speak to a manager either. My interaction with him was completely different from the nice, helpful man I talked to on the phone earlier. I had called ahead so I would know what to expect when I showed up at the store. Nothing prepared me for this. I feel like my previous shopping experiences have been pleasant. I think Best Buy is going downhill and I will have to look elsewhere for electronics. read more
