Lance and Lorene were very responsive and wonderful people to work with. After calling two other appliance repair companies closer to home and receiving disappointing replies (couldn't work on electric cooktop, no answer to message left), I contacted Apex Appliance Service. Communication was fast and they kept in touch via text and calls to keep me updated on arrival times, costs and even reminders the night before the repairs were being done. Lance initially came out and diagnosed the issues and provided a very reasonable quote for repairs. It took about a week for the parts to come in and he repaired the broken electric burner and the dryer within an hour. I checked Yelp to find an appliance repair company with good reviews. I started looking at companies with 5 stars and found a few, this place being one. I called and spoke to someone informing her that I think my washer needs to be serviced...she gave me Lance's number. I called and it went to voicemail so I left a message. Lance returned my call the next day. I gave him the info on my front-load washer that I purchased almost 14 years ago, explained the banging noise it makes every so often, how it sometimes stops a few minutes into the wash and gives an error message. He said the cost to repair might be almost as much as buying a new one. I asked him for suggestions on what brands are good and where I could buy it. I went to Lowe's, Home Depot and Best Buy per Lance's recommendation and purchased a brand he suggested...a Maytag 4.8 cu. ft. Front-Load Washer from Best Buy. They have to order it so it's going to take about a month before it's delivered. My washer still works so hopefully, it won't fail me until the new one comes in...knock on wood! Lance was very nice and helpful even knowing that he wouldn't earn anything from me so I wanted to give him props and this 5-star review for helping me. In trying to replace the light bulb inside our oven, it broke & part of it was stuck inside the bulb area. Our oven was now unusable. We made an appt & today Lance S. came. What a great guy & boy does he know all there is about appliances. He opened the oven door and quickly knew what had to be done. Within an hour he had the oven lights fixed, installed the new light bulb we had, and was on his way. Lance was so very pleasant & is a credit to his company. Brian and Nani came prepared with new shocks for the washing machine and replaced the old ones. It was thumping and knocking like it was unbalanced. During the test wash it started thumping again and it was clear to them that the whole thing was shot and a new washer was in our future. They took out the new shocks and put old ones back and charged us just for the house call since they couldn't fix it. So fair and kind! In June, Lance came out to assess my fridge problem. He refers the work to Jason Rhoden, an LG tech, who does the assessment and does the repair. Collects $520 payment and provides receipt with 1 year warranty for the work. The fridge warms up in July so Jason comes out again for the repair. Promises to refund the money if the repair doesn't hold. Been contacting Jason since August, and I am still left with a fridge that doesn't work and no refund. The last message was that the refund would be sent out on October 30th but nothing--no check, no responses to messages. Because I reached out to a business with excellent rating, I expected that level of service and resolution even through a referral. I was once a small business owner and hate to do this, but no responses, no resolution, and what appears to be untruthful "check is in the mail" response is unacceptable. read more
