Worse than worthless. My daughter's laptop was only a couple months out of warranty when the camera stopped working. We brought it into them, they charged an $83 diagnostic fee then sent it off, then a couple of weeks later we got a call it was back, with paperwork that said "client declined estimate, returned unrepaired. I never received any estimate, which was supposedly sent only 3 working days before the computer was returned. I first called to discuss the issue, the woman in the phone had terrible communication skills, could not understand why I was calling despite explaining to her multiple times, and then her comments to me were incomprehensible, so I had to drive all the way back to speak to someone else in person. That person told me the estimate was $950 to replace a camera in a $1000 laptop, so I did reject the ridiculous estimate this time. Took it across the street to UbreakIfix, who charged us a $29 diagnostic fee, and only $150 to replace the camera, and they credited us the $29 diagnostic fee. This isn't the first time I've had this kind of terrible experience with Geek Squad. In 2021 I took an iPhone 12 mini to one because it had stopped charging. Geek Squad said there was nothing they could do, I just needed to buy a new phone. UBreakIFix charged me $40 to replace the charging port. I still use that phone 5 years later. TLDR: Geek Squad is ridiculously overpriced and incompetent. Go with UBreakIFix instead. read more

I really hate to write bad reviews, but this one is warranted fasho fasho! My wife and I came in here on a weekday evening, trying to find what best gift to give a family member, specifically a computer. Upon walking in it took them a minute, but somebody finally asked if we needed some help. As we were talking to the lady employee about which laptop to purchase, another person randomly comes up and starts talking to the lady employee who was talking to us clearly. She continued to address the man as if we did not exist right there. It was really offensive and we end up walking away and looking at the computers ourselves. After some time went by we decided to walk out because the customer service was just absolutely dismissive. We end up leaving, but then I felt convicted because I couldn't let that type of customer "no" service slide. I end up going back in asking for a manager, and the manager told me that the person who disrespectfully inserted himself is a vendor with another company. The Best Buy managers name is Tia (who I talked to) and the vendors name is Milo. The manager said that she would have a talk with upper management to let them about the situation however I have gotten no follow up or anything! Honestly seemed like it was a way to dismiss me, because there was no additional action. No getting my contact information or anything. Fast and courteous Greek Squad! I crushed my HP laptop screen. I mean I really crushed and it is too painful for me to go into details. Spoke with Greek Squad extrodanaire Ethan Pham. He was a gentle soul that was very knowledgeable. He explained it would take weeks for repairs I needed a laptop for work in 3 days. He showed me a Lenovo with better speed, larger memory and an upgrade from i3 to an i5 for less money. He also was able to get my data transferred in less than 24 hours. The best part is that I never felt pressured by Ethan and he never over promised but he definitely over produced. I had bought my 1st pair of airpods the 3rd generation 3 years ago and to this day they were perfectly fine. I would recommend getting your AirPods from here because of the great customer service and staff was helpful and checking out was very smooth. These AirPods are have very good sound and noise cancellation . The instructions in the packaging are also clear and make it easy to set up the air pods to your phone. They are also have a pretty good battery life time And it also come with a charging cord . I called this number and got a computer trying to sell me a heart monitoring device. So I call Geek squad again, I was transferred to another department the phone picked up, I could hear back ground noise ... but no one responded to my voice. So I call geek squad again. I have been on hold this time for 40 minutes. I think the system recognizes I have a complaint and has put me in the queue from hell. Typical Best Buy. They will go out of business soon enough I suspect and rightly so. They used to be a great electronics/appliance retailer but those days are LONG GONE. read more

No shows and last minute canceled appointments are regular. When calling them, no one is accountable or knows what's going on and blames the fact they have call centers around the US. I ordered an Apple MacBook Air case for model A1466 for pick up at store. When I got to the store, there's a huge sign on the left saying Online Pickups/Orders. I went to pick it up and was greeted by an employee. I asked her before I take it home, I wanted to confirm if it'll fit the model A1466. She was unsure. Her response was "I don't know, it doesn't exactly say the model on the box." Then to my surprise she handed me the box and said, "here you can look for it yourself." WOW. Why is she employed there?? She didn't even bother to find an answer or get help. This is horrible customer service. The reason I took it was because there's a return policy and I could bring it back if it didn't fit. Which would have been an inconvenience. As that wasn't bad enough, when I walked out, the gentleman that stands there to greet customers says "Have a nice day" and doesn't even look up at you. Connected it after a few days and started our first wash! then came the internal water leak that flooded my laundry room 1star!, I called Geek Squad they immediately scheduled an appointment and had a technician here the next day. He arrived earlier than expected 5 Stars he took the machine apart and stated that the machine was and had internal parts damaged and it could not be repaired properly today and he ordered the replacement parts needed for the repair. The technician said the parts needed would arrive during the week and the next appointment was for 12-7-24. I called to check and verify my appointment on line BUT NO APPOINTMENT WAS ON FILE, So I called the Technician and left a message on 12-6-24 to confirm with him but no response, The day of the appointment I called Geek Squad to confirm my appointment and was told that my appointment was cancelled by the Technician and I would have to reschedule my appointment during my work day within a 12 hour window 7am -7pm 12-10-24 ! I explained I took off last Saturday this Saturday and now I'm to take off Tuesday because the technician canceled my appointment? Why was it canceled and why was I not contacted? Went to Best Buy on Bunker Hill today. I had a sales lady by the name of Jennifer in the computer department help me. Or should I say lack of help? She showed me a few computers and was really nice at first and said she would get back with me after she helped the customer. She looked up my account when I gave her my information and found it and I was preapproved for credit. They did not have the computer in the store and she said she could order it from another store, and receive it by Wednesday but I needed it by tomorrow for work on Wednesday. She told me some other stores had it and I could go there if I wanted to. I told her let me wait on buying the computer. I had some ink cartridges and a satchel and a mouse to buy that was at the counter with her. After I told her that she put her earbuds on, and was looking at some kind of training on her computer and totally ignored me. I waited at her counter for a good 15 to 20 minutes and she just acted like it wasn't even there. After I realized what she was doing I couldn't believe it! I walked up to her and followed her when she went to the front of the store and said "never mind on purchasing the other items" and I asked her what her name was. This review is in regards to picking up an item with the curbside option. After pulling open the email that I was sent when the item was ready, I clicked the link and it opened a website that allowed me to check in. I parked at one of the parking spots that are numbered in front of the store. I entered the number on the website and waited. Wait time was probably less than five minutes. The store looked pretty busy and I was concerned how long I'd have to wait. The employee came out with my items and they appeared new and undamaged. I was on my way immediately after that. I'm very pleased with the level of service during the week. I could not say anything about weekend because Katy freeway feeder road is always congested. It's impossible to stop by for a quick grab. I was down on my luck with data overage on my cell phone. I really needed to use WiFi to retrieve my research on a SD cards. I was facing another technology challenge on my Android phone, which had a poor-quality SD card caused major problems. I don't know anyone but Best Buy has the best price and selection on technology. I love this store's convenient location, right off of major freeways. Every time I walk in, I feel like a kid in a candy store. There are better merchandise than other Best Buy stores I frequently go to. I didn't have trouble to locate what I was looking for. I just couldn't find the specific memory cards. So, I asked an associate for help. He found what I wanted quickly, plus he explained to me about the transfer rate and saving/retrieval rates on the micro SD cards. Also, showed me different brands and what was on sale. Wow. Why couldn't other Best Buy stores get more people like this guy? I was in a hurry and I didn't even catch his name. Overall, I like this store. It had a logical layout. It is well-lit and spacious. It was clean and shelves were not cluttered. I went to the front to see if they had picked it (sans email confirmation) and they didn't. I waited 10 minutes for them and gave up. I had a look at Best Buy's return policies while waiting and it's only 15 days and there's a restocking fee of 15%. Nope, canceled my order. What a waste of time! I bought it from Amazon and it will come in a couple days, which is fine after going through this bs. Best Buy lost a $1300 purchase and I'll honestly never spend a dime here again. To whom it may concern: We did not know that in Best Buy's employees' handbook it says to stare at a customer standing in line for help and shake their heads at them in some sort of disappointing way. This was not just a quick stare and shake, it was for a good while and Brando, the employee there, did it twice. Never in our lives had we had a store employee do such a thing. Instead of trying to deescalate the issue, he exacerbated it by giving off the worst kind of impression to a customer who simply wanted to get some help to purchase 3 apple 4K TVs that were nowhere to be found in the store. What should've been a quick in and out and a quick ~$600 for Best Buy turned out to be the worst customer experience that I have ever set eyes on. Ironically, I used to work at this Best Buy, and, dealing at times, the most irate customers. Never had I given them a stare or shook my head at them to cause them to become more furious while they were waiting to be helped or for whatever the case was. Had a store pick up for a refrigerator. They wouldn't let my movers go inside the store due to policy. The store employees were not able to move the refrigerator because of its weight. After going back and forth with the General Manager he finally made an exception after 45min to let my professional movers go inside the store a get my paid merchandise.
