I was given a certain date for installation; I waited all day for the technicians and no one showed. Again I was told to schedule an appointment. A second time I scheduled an appointment and waited home all day and again no one showed. Again I was told again to schedule an appointment. By now I do not trust the company and can only tell you that save yourself the aggravation. If you have to buy any kind of equipment, service is nonexistent. Try calling there and you will get their virtual assistant and you will stay on hold and be transferred to a live agent except no one answers the telephone. Good luck. read more

I went to Best Buy to purchase a laptop that would be good for PowerPoint presentations. The young woman was patient showing me various laptops. The prices were much higher than I had seen on the internet, but I liked the convenience of purchasing it and taking it home the same day. When I decided on which one I would purchase, I told her that I wanted it in silver color. She replied that she was not sure that they had it in silver. She then went to the back and returned announcing that I was in luck and that she had found one. She brought it in its box. I said that I wanted to see the shade of the silver color. She replied that she couldn't open the box. I trusted her representation that she had found the laptop in silver color and proceeded to the counter to pay for it. It came to over $1,400. When I asked for a bag, she said that there was none. I certainly did not want to parade in town with an obvious new laptop. I happened to have a plastic bag and was able to partially cover the laptop. When I got home, I opened the box and discovered that the laptop was of a dark color. The label said "blue." I am really outraged by the lie of this young woman and that a store like Best Buy does not even provide a shopping bag for a $1,400 purchase. Needless to say, I will be returning the laptop for a full refund and will never again shop at a Best Buy store. read more

Once it didn't fit in the truck. Sent the wrong mount. Second TV never arrived. Totally incompetent. To be completely honest no idea how this location is still in business. I mean it is wonderful that it is but the last few times I have stepped foot in here there has been like no one in here. This is a two level store with a wide range of electronics, dvds and even bikes! It is a very spacious store with not many friendly or helpful staff I am sorry to say. I wanted an Oura 4 Ring, I finally found a staff who said the 4 was discontinued, I should buy the Oura 3! He produced a sizing kit (diff sizes!) for the Oura 3, which they would sell me right now. That was Totally Wrong, the guy seemed to be intentionally lying to my face to make a sale. Best Buy round THREE! (I wanted to post yesterday but only my 2nd post kept showing up.) I called customer service (again!) & was transferred to "Elevated Customer Care Dept.". Not only did he insist my credit card bill was correct but also didn't see 2nd TV purchase. (The same 1 I was watching during the call.) What screen was he looking at? After still another spin on the Best Buy "merry-go-round" I was shrieking & he threatened to disconnect me. I was so frustrated I broke my pen. I then called my credit card company. After doing the math & trying to explain it to me he said there was nothing to contest. I did the math again & it still looked I was charged for TV #2 twice so I called them back (by now it was 10 p.m..) & rep agreed that YES, I had been charged 2x & that they should have just credited me the 1st transaction entirely & then just re-bill for TV #2 only which is exactly what I had requested Best Buy to do. She put in a claim so that's where I stand now. TLDR; Don't use Best Buy, absolute scammers. I bought a Meta Quest 3 from here about 6 months ago, after trading in my Quest 2. It starts to show signs of stick drift in the controllers, so I take the Quest to a Best Buy closer to me. I'm then told I have to go to the Best Buy I purchased the Quest 3 from (this location) because the serial number on the headset doesn't match the serial number on the receipt of the purchase. Mind you, I've had this headset for 6 months and the only other purchase I've made for the headset is a different strap. I then go to this Best Buy, to then be told that despite the fact that I bought it from here, they see proof of me buying it here, AND THE SAME ASSOCIATE BEING NEARBY, I'm told there is nothing I can do. I now have to fork out over 500 bucks on a new headset if this one breaks because they wont honor the warranty, and 150 for new controllers from Meta themselves. Never using Best Buy again. Customer service is appalling nobody on the lower level could answer my simple question about a CHARGER I have no idea why they're even employed when the workers can't solve the most simple electrical question. Wish I could leave more than 5 stars. I've been here twice and each time have left a happy and satisfied customer. First to buy a microwave (Alex sold me the perfect one for my apt and was super-patient). But what also couldn't have gone better is when I needed a new desk chair. Andy walked me through several options before he and his team of David, Christian and Reinaldo were literally able to set up the actual chair for me in store so I could roll it out. The guys and ladies there are among the most helpful people I've met. I have a black screen laptop and I need to buy a portable monitor. After picking up the monitor, I want to test if it works with my laptop. I borrowed a cable from the Geek Squad there, but it didn't work at the beginning, showing "Your device does not support DP Alt mode, please install the latest driver". They helped me diagnose the issue, and told me I needed a thunderbolt 4 cable. After they tested a thunderbolt 4 cable, it worked! They also didn't ask me to buy it. I feel people working there are knowledgable and patient. Good vibe there! read more

They don't seem to have any people that answer the phone that speak any possible way to understand them. Reaching a manager, no matter what the situation is, is absolutely out of the question . manages apparently are never in the store. I don't believe that, but that's the story you get. No matter what your issue they want you to do everything online. If you ask for a specific sales person, the one that helped you in the store, they're not allowed to put you in touch with anyone. Due to the fact that " Best Buy"has a third rate shipper that uses delivery people that are independent contractors (not employed by the shipper) my tv as well as other packages were stolen. My nightmare started after purchasing my Sony Bravia TV along with a 5 year warranty. In less than 3 years it stopped working. On July 21st I called Best Buy to complain about that. They made an appointment for a technician to come over in 2 weeks. I thought a 2 week wait was a long time. Two weeks later the technician came out to check it & later told me I needed a new one & that after the old was removed/picked up, I could get another new one by using my credit from the old 1. So, I went to Best Buy on E 86 st and after I chose another Sony of d same size & we were almost done, they told me that since I had started the complaint over the phone they couldn't help me at the store. I tried contacting them over the phone numerous times & the call kept dropping. Today Monday Aug. 7th, I again called and finally was given a barcode to take to the store for a new tv. So today I went back to the Best Buy store to use my credit towards my new replacement TV and now they tell me that I'll have to wait 5 days until Sat. for the delivery, making this situation last for 18 days. I would never, ever shop there again due to the running around they've given me. Their ability to make the replacement transaction a smooth one lacks majorly and their customer support sucks! HORRENDOUS STORE!!! Bought something and Asked what was the return policy before purchasing. It was a Samsung tablet, came with a giftcard, Microsoft software bought as well for tablet. I never opened the box, item was factory sealed and still in the same condition. I returned the item within the time limit. I returned the 'free $50 giftcard' for the item downstairs at the customer service department as well, as I was instructed to do and is clearly stated on the receipt. When I checked my receipt later that day, I see that the cashier did NOT refund me for the gift card whatsoever. Now, I can't make a claim that he kept it for himself, but I refuse to be charged for something I don't have. So if he stole it and kept it for himself, or gave it away as a present, that's neither here nor there - I wanted my full refund for goods/services returned. Additionally, they said the software was NON-REFUNDABLE. So I'm not understanding why when I asked about this purchase in advance, I was told I could return the item without hassle. When I have tried to complain to a manager at this location, they told me to call the Best Buy customer service hotline - the woman I spoke to was unwilling to listen and asked me to move aside to handle other returns. I have called multiple times. Sometimes they hang up as you're on hold. Other times, they seem to take down your complaint and then give you a reference number, but No One from Best Buy follows up with you. After 3 full weeks of trying to be patient and trying to work with this store, I am at my wits' end and I'm filing a dispute with my credit card company. I have called 6 times, spoken to multiple people, and get no resolution. I don't recall Ever having such an atrocious experience at Circuit City/J&R - that no longer exist, or at places like Staples. I can't speak for all Best Buy locations, but I will actively avoid ever setting foot in this location. And unfortunately, I will just resort to purchasing items off Amazon - a retailer that does not give me such grief or steal my hard-earned monies. I find that many electronic stores in the city are very hit or miss. For this visit, my experience was a bit of a miss. I came to buy an adapter and converter, and it was a bit of a struggle. I really think that there could be an improvement in customer service in general. I feel like one has to fake a heart attack or vomit on a flat screen TV or a laptop in order to get some attention, because most of the staff are grouped up and goofing off. Then, when you actually get the attention of someone, you are made to feel like you are interrupting him/her from doing NON-RELATED work activities. Oh, I'm sorry, but isn't helping people find things part of your job? My recommendation/tip. If you can, use the pick up in the store option, because it will save you time, frustration, and annoyance. read more

I'm surprised to see the frequent negative reviews. I would say the hit or miss customer service experience at this location is about typical for all Best Buy Stores nationwide. I've purchased frequently in Best Buy. In the past year or so I purchased an item that I ended up needing to return. I had no problem returning it. The credit went back to my card. Cashiers have always been pleasant, sales people always helpful. I do understand the comments about low stock on the shelves. It is a really busy location. It's understandable that they have trouble keeping this store stocked. It's not a big store. If I don't find what I'm looking for I go to the store on 14th street, or mid town. I usually have luck at one of them! The fact that Best Buy will match any retail competitor price (including Amazon) is a big plus. it is 8:15 pm I arrived home not to long ago. Today is the 10th of January. I am writing this review because of the distasteful experience I survived through today. As soon as I walked into the store, I checked out a MacBook 2023 M3 pro for a few moments, moved on, I was there, to purchase a AirPods 4th generation noise canceling headphones. I had just came from target on 125th street and they were sold out. upon walking over to the area I realized that was also the area to buy Apple Watch chargers. I had left my charger while I was on vacation at Texas, also had it on my wrist. I didnt see the USB-Type A to Apple Watch charger on the wall so I decided to venture further into the store. prior to I did notice the iPhone 16 pro max and decided to check it out. I still currently have a 14 pro Max. As I walked over to the iPhone the security guard, who was an older white male, with blacked out sun glasses small frame followed me. I also looked at him right in his eyes prior to walking out of the store to let him know I felt uncomfortable, I know he saw me see him and what he was doing...next, who was in my opinion profiling me the moment I walked into the door walked over to get a better look at what I was doing. prior to walking away from the apple section to see the cases a store associate whose name I unfortunately did not catch, if I ever visit this store again I will have full names of the people with whom I interact with, he was medium complexion, and had a beard that made him look around 20-25 years old. He asked me "sir do you need any help?" I responded "not yet let me look around a little longer" as I walked to the phone case section the security guard followed me. At first I was in disbelief that I was being profiled as someone who steals and needs to be followed around the store. unless I was interacting with a display item I kept my hands to myself and did not touch a single thing. Then I walked in some more and there was the security guard again...At this point this is when I decided to leave. I purposely went to that store to PURCHASE AirPods, a case and an Apple Watch charger. However I cannot support a company that profiles me upon walking in through the door. Piss poor shopping experience, I am a hispanic male, I had on sweats, a coat, scarf that wraps around my head and a hoodie, I had on a du rag since I just got my braids done today, and had no intention of messing them up. Next time I go to a Best Buy establishment and this is how I am treated I am going to call 911 and press charges on the security officer for harassment and stalking. when I walk into a Apple Store, target or any other establishment I am not treated like this...Yet today the folks at Best Buy were giving heavy pre - 1960 civil rights era vibes. Unfortunately, they have recently made a bad business decision to outsource their local deliveries to something called "Roadie". I ordered 2 phone chargers and they were not delivered, Roadie cancelled the delivery for no reason. I ended up cancelling the order and ordering from Amazon, who, as always, delivered them promptly without issue. It's too bad but no more Best Buy for me. read more

I'm someone that will pay a good price for a quality item. However, I also know when something is not worth its price. And the laptops at best buy fit the latter. I was in the market for a new computer, as my old one was starting to act up. Knowing how vital a computer is to a student, I knew I had to act fast in replacing it. Some classmates recommended that I go to Best Buy, and I found this location to be the closest to me. I took my Uber from campus, and came upon this location, on a busy Manhattan intersection. I walked in, and down the escalators to their laptops section. I browsed their different options, but did not like what I saw. Their options were weak, and very few of their laptops compared to the one I currently have. The prices were not worth it, so I took my leave. I decided to order my laptop directly from the manufacturer. It took a week to receive it, but the value was worth it. And my current laptop thankfully lasted through that week. I can't say that I'll be coming back to this location. I can get more bang for my buck elsewhere. And I'll be better prepared next time to avoid this type of incident. read more
