Recently had a Pioneer CarPlay installed at Best Buy by their Auto Tech Matthew, and I had a great experience. He was very knowledgeable and efficient, getting everything set up in about an hour. When my phone was causing the CarPlay to glitch, he was very friendly and helped me troubleshoot until we got it working again. He was also reassuring and had great attention to detail, he was careful not to scratch my dashboard (something I was worried about) and the installation looks 100% professional. He even noticed one of my door speakers was going out and went out of his way to tune them a bit and recommend an affordable replacement on eBay. Instead of trying to sell me on something unnecessary, he gave me some pointers on how I could install it myself and save some money. It's always nice to find someone who genuinely puts the customer first like that. Really left a great impression and meant a lot. I have always loved this Best Buy, but am frustrated. My 4 month old Lenovo laptop had a defective power switch which is a well known defect. Geek squad said it would be fixed at no charge. It was under warranty and I purchased Total Protection. GS chat subsequently advised me that I had dropped the laptop and had to pay for the repair. I absolutely did not drop my laptop! Chat rep advised me that Lenovo has a tech who is an expert in drop detection! How frustrated would you be knowing you hadn't dropped your laptop yet they argue that you did! I approved the charge and advised I would be disputing this after the fact and he ended the chat. I've bought 15-20 computers here in the past 5 years for multiple businesses. After approving the repair I was advised the parts are on back order so I went to PC Laptops and bought a new one. Best Buy just lost a great customer who spends more than the average! A relative went in to Best Buy to purchase a Chromebook I recommended for them. A salesperson (who was training someone, yikes) convinced my relative that they needed Office Home 2024 (which doesn't even work on Chromebooks), as well as a My Best Buy Total subscription. Sequence of events: - I went with them to return Office 2024, and was told "we can't do this, contact Microsoft". - I chatted with Microsoft Support for over an hour, who confirmed they can't process refunds for purchases from third party sellers like Best Buy. - I called Best Buy, who said they can't process returns for in store purchases but that the product was indeed returnable where it was purchased. - I went back to the store, relayed the above information, and showed the manager the Best Buy return policy stating Office is returnable for 30 days, and was still told "we can't return this." I suggested we call Best Buy together, or I'd be opening a credit card dispute. Suddenly, the manager was able to return Office Home 2024 and said something like "I had to put in my codes and might get in trouble for this, but oh well." Best Buy, your manager at your Orem store has lost several customers for good. Do not sell my family things they can't use, lie to my face about not being able to return it, and waste over 3 hours of our time when the purchase was clearly returnable from the beginning. This recent Black Friday I showed up to buy a laptop for my daughter. The one I wanted was listed for $499.00 and a BLACK FRIDAY deal. I waited in line for 30 minutes only to learn that that particular computer sold out the previous Sunday. How is that a BLACK FRIDAY deal??? Why is it still sitting on the counter with that price if it hasn't been available for 5 days!!!! It's this type of clickbait nonsense that makes people like me never want to come back. Beware of customer service! Purchased a tv and arranged to have it delivered. They insisted it wasn't possible for two weeks, which wasn't ideal but still within the 15 day return period. The delivery date was included on my receipt, the purchase invoice, and I received an email from them confirming the date. Tried several times prior to the delivery date to confirm delivery details. Phone calls to the local store were always shuffled to a national number; could never get the local store to respond. Finally visited the store in person (it's a 60 minute drive) to confirm details and learned they arbitrarily changed the delivery date to a day four days later, without asking, giving any warning, or even checking to see if we were available (we weren't). This also meant we would receive the tv well outside the company's 15 day return period. Wound up having to cancel the order. Do yourselves a favor. Spend a little more money and make your big ticket purchases at a place where customer service is important and with a store that is willing to live up to its agreements. I wanted a product and was told that it was there by Corporate who supposedly called it in to the store. Driving there I asked for directions and the guy (Dallas) basically pointed to an area. I searched for the product and for help. Found neither. Went back to the front asked to look it up and told it probably wasn't there. Any time I went in looking for something and wanted some help was spotty to say the least. If you want some help on something expect to wait and it's hit or miss on the employee if they are super helpful. I tried calling the store multiple times and all I could get was people in Southeast Asia. I was willing to wait on hold to speak with someone. All I wanted was to be sure that when I drive two hours to buy a computer that they actually have it in stock. My experience tells me that what it says the store has in stock is not always correct and the people in Southeast Asia can't confirm that either. Horrible customer service. Yes the items are good. Yes the promotions are great. No the reps aren't trained. They have a sense of entitlement. When asked a question the made me feel stupid and asked to wait. Then decided to stop with a different customer to answer their question to keep me waiting longer when I was the one that called for assistance. I recommend who ever is the manager out here to train your guys better. And hire more reps. I worked at a Best Buy training my vivint reps in Tennessee. Night and day. Turkey creek Tennessee. Hace corporate find the number. Give them a call. Figure out what you need to change as a company. Yes, 1 sale won't hurt the business. here is my story... I am a knowledgeable pc builder. my father also has over 50 years of IT work and building PCs amongst other things. I was working on ding a new pc. got all the part but I needed a new cpu and ram. I decided I'd go down to my local Best Buy and get them. I bought a 13900k and 4 sticks of ddr5 6000 mghz ram. well I get home and my computer won't post. "meaning can't get into the bios." we spent 2 days tryin to figure it out to the point I had to get a new motherboard but still wouldn't post. so eventually I say screw it and head to pc laptops in Orem. they check it out and a day later determined it was a faulty cpu. I take the cpu go back to Best Buy to return it. it had only been max 4 days. the guys at Best Buy told me they couldn't return it because the batch number on their box doesn't match the cpu number. so my first thought was well maybe the pc guys forgot to swap back the cpus. I go back there we had a yelling match and finally the manager says they will do a straight up swap and give me a new one and take mine. I agree and i go back. as we are swapping cpus he tells me he has an app he can check the exact QR code on the cpu with an intel app. he can't get it to scan so he grabs his cpu he's going to trade and it scans instantLu. first thing I noticed was the CPU's had different colors and the print on his was much darker and more clear where as mine was some what grey. my biggest issues is that 1 I have my receipt and the cpu why can't I return it if you the store made the mistake of not labeling thing's correctly and 2 even if it isn't labeled correctly it's got warranty with Intel so you can RMA it. but nope they refuse to take it. very shady in the fact that the cpu does not look like the actual Intel cpu. my hunch is 2 ideas. the first being there is someone that works there that got their hands on the boxes and swapped things out with something that looks like the real thing and then sells the real one of eBay. which if that's true DO NOT SHOP HERE. or 2. because it was closer to the holidays and lots of people re things it somehow got mixed up and they made the mistake. either way what a trash place to shop if I have the parts I was sold and the receipt but they refuse to take it back. makes me believe it's shady as hell. Purchased an open box computer from here, in which was previously purchased by the original owner who also had issues. They told me it went under diagnosis tests to make sure it was in good shape and was intended by someone who just couldn't afford it. Pfft! When I got it home I found no cables and had to purchase. After 5 hours of work the computer crashed. Irritated that it didn't go through their fine diagnostic tests, I took it back. Of course they brought it to my attention that they weren't going to charge me for the missing cables, refunded my card AND the funds won't be available for 3-5 business days. Other stores sold same tv and same price for 90 day returns. Really Best Buy? I typically have a good experience with Best Buy and since I know a little more about technology than the average person I don't usually need help and know what I'm looking for and where to find it. Well today I walk in knowing exactly what I wanted and went right to the check out. This is where my horrible experience began. The lady at the check out was leaning against the desk not facing the line and didn't even realize that I was ready to check out until I said something to her. That was the first red flag. While she was scanning my item and putting in my rewards information she stopped paying attention to me and started talking to one of the other workers expressing that "today has been the longest day and it has been dragging and I don't want to be here. Ive been here for 2 hours but it feels like 6". When I told her I wanted a printed receipt she signed in disappointment because apparently printing a receipt is so hard. Her back was towards me the entire time and did not ask me any of the "Customer Service" questions like, "did you find everything today? How are you? Would you like the receipt in the bag or with you?" general questions that you should ask when working in a retail store. Ive worked retail for 5 years so I know how some days can be a drag and boring but you bet that the minute someone walks in or approaches me my attitude changes. Retail stores are the face of any company and so for someone to not care and complain in front of customers that they don't want to be here is unprofessional. All I have to say is that I am disappointed. I will still be shopping at Best Buy since a lot of the stuff I need is sold there but as far as the experience I had at this store I would rather drive 20 minutes out of my way to go to a different store and give them my business. read more

As we walked and looked around for what we wanted no one asked us if we needed help, we finally decided on a laptop and there were no employees available. We waited around for 15 minutes at which point one employee finally approached us and asked us if we needed help, however, his attitude was not the most welcoming. What most people don't realize is that the vast majority of people that go in have no idea what they're buying or how any of it works. They put the entire burden on the employees to seek them out and explain everything .... ok, understandable... However, when a store experiences a large volume of people and 2-3 people in each department its more than understandable that some people may not get helped right away. however most people aren't going to tell you about all the times they've gone in and had a good experience. Pretty bad experience. Stood around waiting for 30 minutes to be helped, because they only had 1 guy working in the computer section. When I asked for help locating a thunderbolt adapter he had no idea what I was taking about. I finally found the shelf where they were supposed to be but there weren't any units left. I asked if he could check in the back and he left to go look. I'm sure he still didn't know what I was asking for, so even if they did have them in the back there wasn't any chance of him finding them. Ended driving a few minutes to a certified Apple repair store and picked one up without much hassle. I'd also like to say the price was cheaper in the other store. read more

Bought a car stereo in November, made three attempts to get an appointment to have it installed in my vehicle. No one would answer the phone in their installation department, I contacted their service desk and was told that their installation guys only work a half a day, so I tried calling earlier in the day and still receive no answer... frustration in sued. I went to the store location to return the car stereo because they were unable to install it for me. I was told by the clerk at the service desk that I could no longer return the stereo because the return time had run out even though I possessed a receipt and the package was unopened. In my opinion this is a very poor business practice. Their costumer service sucks. I will not be returning to this franchise for any reason and will suggest any friends or family to do the same. read more

I know what to expect with Best Buy, and they have made some great changes as a company. But THIS LOCATION IS HORRIBLE. Summary: after disagreeing with customer service, the customer service manager actually had the police called. I never yelled. I never swore. I was never asked to leave until the manager requested the police be called, and I never refused to leave. --- not kidding, not exaggerating: I was frustrated with them, and was constantly interrupted when I spoke, to the point I asked if he could stop interrupting so I could speak, when he told me "I already know what you have to say". At one point, he actually said in response to me "I can see you want to control everything, so don't worry, I will give control back over to you". Super passive aggressive. --- I would be happy for any store or regional manager to pull the video. On 3 occasions in a row I tried to buy a projector only to get it home and find that Best Buy had lied about the specifications. They sell you product and won't let you look at it until your at checkout... I have every reason to believe this is to hide their bait and switch tactics even though they say it is for "security". I ended refusing to pay my best buy card when the refused to make things right on the 3rd one, even though I had their projector installer verify the specs were correct prior to purchase. I no longer shop at Best Buy due to the bad experiences with this store. read more

All the employees always lie. One of them say they will except the coupon and then another one says they can't. When you try to return an item they never tell you about the stocking fee even though when I asked at checkout they said they never would be a restocking fee.
