I use to really like this place, but the the store is getting really messy. One time i went to the store to look for a dvd. They didn't have it on the shelf. I asked the clerk for the dvd, and they said they don't have it in the back, but one exist somewhere in the store based on their inventory system. I said you think you can locate it...in the end, the clerk cannot find it. Then 20 minutes later, I go home and ordered it online for a store pickup. Needed a new monitor so decided to check out Best Buy. Guy helping me was really nice but they didn't have much of a selection on 27". While talking with the salesman he told me they buy used monitors. I asked if I had to purchase a new one here to sell my old one and he said no. just bring it in. A few weeks later, after finding exactly what I needed on Amazon, I tried to call the store to make sure they did, in fact, buy used ones. After sitting on hold for over 20 minutes I hung up. Today I decided to just take the old monitors in and sell them. So I schlep the two monitors in to the store and as I'm standing in line the security guard asks me if I wanted to recycle my monitors. I said no, I want to sell them. She then said they don't buy used monitors only laptops. So, either the salesman was lying or he's totally incompetent. On an earlier occasion I asked their camera guy where the Poloraid "cube " was. He didn't even know what I was talking about. This was the head of the camera department. I showed him their ad from the LA Times which advertised said "Cube" and he said "well not all the stores carry everything advertised". I told him it would be nice to know which ones carry what so I don't drive five miles or maybe you could start taking phone calls here in your stores. I think I've finally learned my lesson. August 2014 Yeah so....this visit was a mixed bag. I visited the Pasadena store; they didn't have the TV I wanted in stock, so I bought it in-store for pick-up in Duarte. When I arrived in Duarte, I discovered that the Pasadena store sold me the wrong TV. Fortunately, the Duarte store had the correct TV in stock, but it could have been a real mess. While I was in the Pasadena store, I also ordered an item from BB online. The correct item arrived, with no problem. So my experience was 50/50. Be aware: this store is a madhouse and the parking lot is pretty much guaranteed to send your car to the body shop. You've been briefed. read more

I Bought a 32'' flat screen here. Took it home, opened up the box, and the TV screen was shattered. I went right back to Best Buy, and the manager blamed me for breaking it and did Not want to accept the return. It took for me to complain to the HR of Best Buy at their Main Office (out-of-state). The Lady wrote an Email to the STORE manager of Pasadena, and he too was a dick; also blamed me in a subtle way. I got a New TV (replacement) but for the heartache and frustration, I will never again go to ANY Best Buy because of this location alone. Since this incident (2009), I have since become a Costco member and actually discovered that Costco has better deals on TVs than Best Buy does. I would Not reccommend buying TVs or anything from best buy. Look at the price for a 2 year insurance. $100++++ I bought that stupid insurance and couldnt even return the broken TV. I would reccommend Target, Walmart, or Costco because all three have better deals on TVs, AND insurance (less than $100) Save yourself the frustration and spend $50 to become a costco member. You will gain that money right back thru savings elsewhere in their store. read more

Wow! What a turn around. A couple of years ago Best Buy was on the ropes and I thought they were going under. Now great customer service (no commissions ) and prices. I was looking for a new phone and tablet. Had iPhone 5 and a iPad. Not happy with Apple. Was with T-mobile and the wife with AT&T. Went to both stores and Costco and thought I got a good deal from AT&T. Wife convinced me to check Best Buy and the guys explained the pros and cons of both carriers and Samsung's NOTE 4,5 and the 6 Edge vs the Apple products. Decided on the Samsung products and got $400 credit (with a trade-in ) and a great discount on the tablet's keypad / case. Checked Amazon and Best Buy's prices were as good or better. Really great service. Very knowledgeable, no pressure. Check them out. read more

I've been a Best Buy shopper for a while, I was even an employee back in college, this is the first time that I've received service worthy of a review, and happily, it's for a 5 Star review. I was in the market for a TV and honestly went to Best Buy just to look at them as I figured I'd get a better deal getting one online. I found myself back in the Magnolia home theatre department. I got to chatting with one of the employees, Trey R., about the TVs. Long story short, I walked out of Best Buy with an amazing deal on one of their display model TVs. After a few weeks with the TV, I started having some issues with it. However, I had a direct line back to the employee , again Trey R., who helped me purchase it. Not only was he easily reached, he wasn't at all put out by my call. He helped me troubleshoot the problem and gave me tips on how to fix it. Plus, since we weren't able to completely fix the problem (but it was something I could live with), he talked to his manager and was able to take even more money off the already low price of the TV. He was even able to refund me over the phone, I didn't have to go back to the store. If you find yourself shopping for home theatre equipment, I highly recommend visiting Trey R. at the Pasadena Best Buy. read more

This is for Best Buy's delivery sub contractors. In reality it is zero stars. They came to deliver our tv. They were just inside the delivery window! Just. They balked at removing the current tv as it is "too big". When we had the current tv delivered 13 years ago it was no problem for the 2 delivery guys. The delivery guys who brought the new TV to be cajoled to contact supervisors to try and arrange more personal. 3 days after the original delivery date. The driver kept pushing a refusal rather than trying to find a solution. The funny thing is that we bought a Washer and dryer and had it delivered 3 weeks prior. The delivery was perfect. On time, fast, correctly installed. Which is why we bought the new TV from Best Buy. Next time for electronics Amazon. Way to over promise and under perform. Follow up: The charming lady who claimed to have our installation set for Wednesday. Apparently NOTHING was done. After 45 minutes of talking to another representative who alleges that Saturday 2 teams will be sent to the house. One to remove the current tv and another to install the new tv. 8 days after the first group delivered the new tv and balked at removing the old tv. It is too bad as I was going to buy more stuff from Best Buy. But when you treat a customer like dog crap on the bottom of your shoe. Based upon my experience I would think twice about shopping at Best Buy and its subsidiary Pacific Sales. I will follow up again if we get the tv installed. read more

I'll be honest and fair: that has been most positive experience dealing with the most knowledgeable customer service professional I have ever had in any tech store! The guy's name, who was helping us, is Justin. He was able to help us with printers, gave pro advise about portable HDD, laptops. He really showed his perfect knowledge. Very disappointing experience. I asked a sales person about delivery of a TV I was planning to purchase. I was told I couldn't be given a time frame for delivery until I had made a purchase. Further questioning revealed that this statement was untrue. I wasn't asking for a date, I was asking how long it generally took to deliver an item after purchase. The sales person eventually admitted that the time frame was 3 to 5 business days. But then justified his misleading answer by telling me that it might be earlier if there was a cancellation. My girlfriend wanted a Zagg Invisishield for her iPhone 5 so we opted to go to Best Buy since the nearest Zagg location was too far. We picked the privacy screen protector but the Best Buy associate informed us that she would not be able to install it. She said the surface was too sticky and she couldn't risk any dust from the store getting on the adhesive. So my friend opted for the front and back HD screen. After installation, we noticed the back was improperly placed (there was debri under the plastic). We went back to the same associate who installed it and she wasn't very pleased about our dissatisfaction in her work. $7.99 for application is more expensive than a Zagg location and poor customer service wasn't a good mix with the experience. read more

I came in here with a receipt for a camera given to me as a gift, of which I already have. Best buy wouldn't exchange the camera (new in the box) or store credit since 15 days had elapsed. Another reason why I do not do business here. They used to have a policy of 30 days on exchanges. Yet, it's probably been in a while since that was the case since I choose to go elsewhere. Ordered an iPad Pro 5th gen, 12.9" as an open box item, but in excellent condition. It supposed to come with all accessories, but was missing charger and cable. Brought it into BB Pasadena and was told I have to contact BB Lakewood, that was where it was shipped from. What??? I thought BB is BB regardless of locations or branches. They saw my order in the system, knew exactly what I ordered and was missing, but refused to help me and was just trying to send me off to Lakewood. They could have simply pickup the phone and call Lakewood for me, but did not. I asked that isn't it part of their customer service is to help their customers resolve issues. Even the escalated convo with a manager and she stated that I should reach out to Lakewood myself. I ended up having to buy the charger and cable ($45). I believe BB staff needs a customer services overhaul. I been a loyal BB customer for so many years now, however, this incident will end my business with them forever. read more

DON'T DO PHONE UPDRADES HERE!!!! I came into the store in March just to look around and decided to upgrade my phone. I was 7 months into a 24 month lease with my Note 8 so I understood that if I did the upgrade there were going to be some fees that needed to be paid. I asked 2 different Best Buy reps and they both assured me 100% that I would not be charged early termination fees since I was doing the upgrade with them. I asked the Sprint rep they had there that day the same thing and they reassured me again that I wouldn't have to pay an early termination fee. I paid $240 to be let out of my lease agreement with Sprint and then separately whatever the taxes and fee were on the new phone. The Best Buy guy and the Sprint guy took care of everything ... or so I thought. Later, I got an email from Sprint stating that they received my Note 8 (that I sent back within the 15 day period I was given) and that they would let me know if there were going to be any charges for returning the phone. I took the email to the guy at Best Buy that helped me that day and he said not to worry about it and that if I had any problems to come see them at the store so they could take care of it. Its now May and the first bill came in for my new phone. $268.92 for my first bill. I understand that the first bill is usually high when you upgrade .. activation fees and taxes ... but when I checked my bill on line there's a charge for $400 for EARLY LEASE TERMINATION. I called the store and the original guy that helped me was nowhere to be found so I had to explain the whole thing to someone new. He said he would look into it for me and get back to me. Two days later and nothing. I called the store and that was another cluster f**k on its own. No one even answers the phone and when they do they leave you on hold forever. I ended up called from 3 different phones at the same time and that was the only way I got thru someone. I spoke to the guy that helped me the last time I went in and he tells me that he tried calling me but I didn't answer and didn't want to leave a long voice mail. If someone isn't answering their phone I would think its kind of common sense to at least leave something along the lines of " hey I have an update for you, please call me back when you have a chance". But no. I went into the store later to talk in person and he had nothing for me. No update, no new information. NOTHING. I asked to talk to a Supervisor and he got someone for me ... After going over all of this again with the Supervisor he said that he would personally look into it and give me a call when he spoke to someone at Sprint. That was this past Saturday. The Supervisor called me yesterday (Monday) just like he said he would. I honestly thought it was going to be more promising. Boy was I wrong. After some back and forth he get a Sprint Rep on a 3 way call. Now the Sprint Rep is trying to tell me that when Best Buy applied the $240 payment that should have gone to terminating my lease went to my actual phone bill instead, and that the $268.92 that is due now is from not paying my phone bill and what would have been due the day I got my phone. He's also trying to tell me that because I upgraded early that there's a charge for that as well. He says I needed to have the phone at least 6 months to qualify for the free early upgrade. I had the phone 7 months. I told them both that if I would have done the upgrade on my own over the phone and I would have misunderstood the Rep then I get that would've been my mistake and I would pay what I owe but it sounds to me that Best Buy fucked up and Sprint is trying to cover for them. Now I'm fucked for a $268.92 bill. Either train your employees better or tell them not to tell customer they're 100% sure about something if they really aren't sure. Going to file a complain with the BBB as well. read more

I came to edit my review (which was bad) to give them a little credit for the improvement in their service at least, only to find it wasn't listed here. Why? Because someone changed the original Yelp! Page for this business to say that the place I originally wrote the review for (as well as others) was a place called Pacific Sales Kitchen & Home (but the address is the same and even has "Best Buy" above it). Super shady. Maybe it's a massive bug or a problem with my Yelp! iPhone app, but I seriously doubt it. To be honest, I came to this Best Buy only because I was desperate and didn't want to do the freeway strangle in the middle of rush hour to buy a movie (I prefer to go to the Best Buy in Duarte). I've had numerous bad experiences at this Best Buy and really do not like coming to this location. However, this time I will say the person who helped me was nice and very helpful. However, the place seemed to lack employees and the movie/TV selection at this store seems to have shrunk considerably. I would have considered giving more stars, but I don't appreciate the shadiness of seeing my (and other people's) original reviews listed under another business' name, even if they are working with Best Buy. He was stopped by their staff to sign up a REWARD Card & NOT a CREDIT CARD for 10% cash back that my son was to pay cash $20 for the purchase. Everyone was jumping all over me when I bought a new iPhone. A sales associate rang me up in the floor and there was no waiting. No activation required as it's a gift. Come in two days later to switch to the device with more memory and get rudly directed to the long wait at the mobile connection area. Guy I asked for help when I walked in just replied "Do you have a rciept? It's over there but theyve got a line" Same guy is standing around in the same area moments later doing nothing. Matt Gomez. I've been coming to this Best Buy for years. It's the only one in the area. It gets three stars because it just squeaks by without upsetting me. LOL. I'm writing this review now because I feel that lately there has been a large decline in customer service. It's always a bit of a wait to get help from a customer service rep and I understand that it's a busy store...but lately when I've gone in there its been almost impossible to talk to anyone. Everything seems like a lengthy wait, but you will see a lot of people who are doing nothing, but can't help you because "they don't work in that area". Yesterday I went in to pick up my computer from the geek squad. They did a good job with the repair...but it took forever to get helped and I just wanted to pay and pick up. There were four employees standing...talking to each other in the customer service station, but they said they couldn't help me. Only the ONE GUY working in the geek squad could help and he worked with someone for about half an hour before I was able to just pay and pick up my laptop. I was there a month ago inquiring about a dishwasher and couldn't get anyone to help us at all. We were given a card and asked to call later when the rep was free. Really? We'll be back, because we have to...it's the closest Best Buy. read more

This used to be my favorite Best Buy. Not only was it conveniently located to my home, but the selection was great and the staff was helpful. Ever since they renovated to make room for Pacific Sales, all this has changed. I primarily come to Best Buys for DVDs and Blu-Rays, but since the renovation it isn't even worth browsing, much less coming with a planned purchase in mind. The selection is 1/4 that of other Best Buys, and the racks are usually a mess of chaos. When I ask staff members to help me find something, I am usually told that they either can't be bothered, or they have no idea of what is available because the movie section "isn't run by Best Buy anymore." whatever that means. Best Buy exclusives are rarely if ever available at this location, and none of the staff seems to know what you are talking about when you bring them up. I keep stopping by to see if things have improved as the construction has finished and everything has settled in, but no chance. Now I make a point of going out of my way to the next closest store if I need something from Best Buy, because this location has sadly become worthless. read more

This Best Buy in particular has horrible customer service. A few months back I purchased a portable AC unit with the extended warranty. It worked fine for a bit, then I noticed it stopped working. I took it in to get it serviced. The girl who helped me seemed to spend a lot of time talking to other employees while she was half hearted helping me out. After some time, she told me that Best Buy doesn't fix items and that my particular AC unit was completely sold out (even in the warehouse). She said the only way to handle the situation was for me to purchase another more expensive unit. I said that was rediculous since I paid for the extended warranty and was not going to spend more money to get this fixed. The girl helping me called over Jorge (one of the assistant managers). He looked at the particular item on the AC unit I thought was broken and said I had damaged it. I told him it came like that. I had suspected the item was damaged during transit. It was delivered by UPS. When I informed Jorge about this, he accused me of breaking the item and that the warranty would not cover it. I kept assuring him it wasn't me. I aso commented that what is the point of an extended warranty if they would not honor it. This went back and forth for some time. Jorge repeatedly accused me of breaking the unit on purpose and that they would not honor it. After arguing with Jorge for half an hour, he finally relented and replaced the AC unit. All in all, Best Buy does its best to not honor their warranty's. They try their best to break down and insult the customer so that they'll leave. I say avoid Best Buy in general; but especially avoid this particular Best Buy. You're better off going to Fry's in Burbank. It's a bit of a drive, but worth it. read more

There are like 50 people working at any given time, but trying to find somebody to help you is impossible. All they do is pair up or stand in a group of 2 to 4 and talk about partying or their relationships. When you go up to an employee for help, they actually get unnerved that you're interrupting their conversation. I finally found a register that wasn't at the front of the store that had somebody behind it and the employee was supposed to be ringing up a customer, but in actuality, he was flirting with her. The transaction took forever because he kept talking with her instead of telling her the total, taking the payment, etc. I'm all for making conversation during a transaction, but come on already! So ladies, if you're single, dress like a tramp, and wear short dresses with an open back so that your back rolls spill out, chances are, you'll be able to land a date with Best Buy employee # 426988. And the worst part, I was so frustrated with the service (or lack of, I should say) that I impulsively bought an MP3 player without comparing or asking about it. Turns out it's crap, so I have to go back tomorrow to return and go through it all again. read more
