So I came to this location because they had the one I wanted. Once I saw the TV on display in the store I was blown away by the picture quality. The sales associates in the entertainemt department were great in helping me, they even honored the online price and I got $100 off, that's a win! I am beyond frustrated with my recent experience at Best Buy. I purchased a Samsung soundbar open-box in "Good" condition, and even called ahead to confirm my order was ready for pickup. The employee assured me it was waiting. After driving 1.5 hours to the store, I was handed a soundbar in "Fair" condition -- not the one I ordered. When I pointed this out, the employees didn't even bother to check the order properly at the counter. Only then did they admit my "Good" condition soundbar had already been given away to another customer. How does this even happen? Why confirm my order if you can't keep the correct item aside? This level of carelessness shows a complete lack of accountability. My time, gas, and effort were completely wasted, and I left empty-handed despite doing everything right on my end. Best Buy needs to fix their open-box handling process immediately -- inventory should be tracked accurately, and confirmed orders should never be handed off to someone else. At the very least, employees should care enough to double-check what they are handing to customers instead of brushing it off. I went into the Best Buy store in Salinas to purchase a Lenovo laptop. They only had one Lenovo laptop in my price range. I wanted a Lenovo because my current laptop is a Lenovo and I've had it for 6 years and it still works perfectly. The only reason I need a new one is because mine has Windows 10 and Windows 11 can't be installed on it and Microsoft is ending the updates for Windows 10 this year. I told them I would by it if they transferred the files from my old computer to the new one on a flash drive. The salesman said they charge $180 for that. $180 for some $20 an hour employee to spend a few minutes to do it is ridiculous. I can watch a YouTube video on how to do it for free. Since Best Buy opened up in Salinas, I have bought two sets of washers and dryers, a refrigerator, and a stove. They delivered them and installed them for free. I have also bought 4 TVs. I can buy a Lenovo laptop from Amazon and have at least a dozen in my price range to choose from. Best Buy had only one. Best Buy, and many other brick and mortar stores don't seem to realize the one thing they have to offer that online stores can't. Service! Which is one of the reasons they are in serious financial trouble like many other brick and mortar stores. Poor customer service. I asked about the cancellation of hauling away some items and they said they would have to set another appointment. I informed them to leave everything as is. I later reviewed my order and saw the original date remaining however, the haul away had been cancelled after instruction to leave the order in its original contents. Today I check on my order and see it's totally cancelled! Now they're going to deliver (hopefully) three days from today. This is such poor customer service. While prices are fair, this type of incompetency is totally unacceptable. The worst buying experience I had. I came to buy the new IPad. They ship it to my house using the worst shipping company Ontrac. I took the day off from work so I can be home for my package. Only to find out the package is being delayed. Best Buy tells me to call Ontrac to set up a delivery day. Of course I cannot get a hold of Ontrac. Now my $1000 iPad going to sit on my front porch until I get off of work. Best Buy tells me if the package gets stolen off my porch. There's a AAA number I can call that will probably take 5 to 7 weeks to settle. My husband came in here to get an Apple Watch that supported mirroring and he had told the employee over and over we need to have it support mirroring that's the only reason we're trading in our two Apple Watch series 5s. I got scammed, and my computer was badly compromised. I called the geek squad to make an appointment to bring it in to be checked out, and they put in contact with a geek squad member, Joseph. He proceeded to remotely check my computer, removing some malicious software left by the scammers, and completely scanned my computer. He did an excellent job, taking over 2 hours and keeping in touch with me by phone, citing progress. I am extremely happy with the service I received. I've been a happy Best Buy customer for many, many years. Both the Salinas and Marina locations have been great to me. The biggest reason in Salinas has been Andres Piña. He's one of the managers at the Salinas location and has always been pleasant and super helpful. I've liked staying current when it comes to my TV and audio systems, Andres has always done a great job breaking down the latest tech and features so that a non-tech savvy guy like meself can not only understand, but also make an informed decision. They were out of stock and I was going to now pay the shipping and handling NO LONGER FREE!! Reluctantly I agreed . I waited 3 days no email confirmation. I tried to call but you can't call the store directly. When I went in to talk to the manager he told me the associate voided the free promotion. I normally do not write reviews for big-named stores, but I had to do it this round to give a shout out to Debra O. (the Inventory/Merch Supv) at this Best Buy branch. This morning, I called Best Buy to confirm they had a washer/dryer unit I was looking for. I was transferred over to the Salinas branch from the national line. I was reluctant, since most of the time, you get stuck with the automated responses and long waits on the phone. However, when Debra came on the phone, she took ACTION. She knew exactly which unit I was talking about and walked over to the unit to confirm that it was still available for sale. She gave me details that I couldn't find online, and she went above and beyond to provide me pictures of the actual item that I wished to purchase. When we got to the store, I met Debra in person, and she directed me to the item and helped me get set up with a sales rep to make the purchase and set up the delivery date. It was absolutely refreshing to talk to a customer service rep who was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient, and understanding. GIVE DEBRA A RAISE!! I was greeted at the door as I walked by three employees having a powwow. Wanted to buy a camcorder that was on sale for 500+ dollars went to the section and stood there for over 15 minutes with no help in sight. A person that came into the same section as me was helped before me, so after no hope in sight of receiving any information or help, I walked down the aisle looking for someone but no luck, so I went out to my vehicle to use the Internet and see if Walmart had it in stock. They did not , so I returned back into the store after about 10 minutes. This time I was not greeted by the door person who was playing on there phone at this point. I went back to the camera section and stood there again for numerous minutes no help. I made sure I was in plain sight of the door person and two or three other desks were people are being assistanted. I guess I will just have to buy it somewhere else. On the way out the door person did manage to take the time to give me a dirty look as if I was trying to steal something. And had they said anything to me in regards to "did you find what you're looking for today" I would've asked for help and probably still made the purchase there. But nope. I showed up 13min before they close at 6pm and was turned away. They already had the entrance side closed with a gate. I stood at the exit while an employee on the other side of the exit door, two steps away, occasionally looked at me but did not acknowledge my presence. Another potential customer walks up behind me and asked are they closed already? I said I'm not sure they haven't even greeted me or anything. A few customers then exit and as I go to take a step to talk to the employee - "Mike" wearing a black shirt informs me that they are at capacity and are closing soon. I thought I was going to be able to wait for customers to exit so that I can then go in despite that several customers already exited right in front of us. He said they are not "taking anymore people for the night." As I sit here in my car writing this I've watched at least 10 other potential customers walk up and be turned away. I already knew what I needed and where to find it in the store. I would have been a quick transaction. I'm just surprised because bestbuy has already shortened their hours due to the COVID pandemic and you would think that they could at least stay open accepting customers until 6pm. read more

All appliances and electronics sold here are the same things you can find at Target or Walmart. Stock is terrible. From phone accessories to games. So you sell console systems but 5 games LMAO. I went into Best Buy in North Salinas last Monday. A HP Chromebook laptop was listed in there store and on display for $99. (Jaimie the salesperson said the price would be good through Black Friday.) When I asked to buy 3 of them, I was told they were out of stock, but that the truck would bring in a new shipment on Saturday. I went back Saturday and the shipment had not arrived. I was told to go back on Monday. I went back and spoke to the same person I had talked to previously (Jaimie) Jaimie informed me that the price had gone up, despite what I previously told ( the price more than doubled to $249 ) I spoke to a manager who was very flippant and said they can change the prices whenever they want despite what I was promised I rarely write reviews and when I do they tend to be favorable, however, this is probably the worst customer experience I have ever had. Several weeks ago my HP, all-in-one computer with touch screen stopped responding to touch. The device was still under warranty so I reached out to HP for help. After almost 2 hours on the phone with HP, they wanted me to pay them $50 to ship the device to them for repair. I said no and, instead, took it back to Best Buy where I bought it. I was met at the customer service counter by a Geek Squad associate and handed over my device. Unable to make the repairs in-store, they sent it out to be repaired at their another of their own Geek facilities. Two weeks later it was returned to the store where I went to pick it up. I asked the person helping me what was wrong and what was done to fix it. He looked at the report which stated that the touch screen was replaced and tested good. He powered it up so that I could confirm that the screen was working properly. It was not. In fact, noticing that there were no drivers installed for the touch screen, he downloaded and installed them, to no avail. Upon closer examination, he noticed that there was some small piece of crumpled trash (about an inch long and 1/4 inch wide) between the screen and monitor. After visiting with the manager for a while I was told that they would send it back out for repair and that it would be another 2 weeks before I would have it back. While the Manager was very apologetic about what had happened, and for the inconvenience of being without my computer for what will be just over a month, nothing was offered for the trouble. I will give a great deal of thought before doing business with Best Buy going forward. If this first encounter with the Geek Squad is any indication of the caliber of service one can expect, I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I took in my desktop to the "geek squad" to ask some questions about upgrading my computer. The guy didn't have much knowledge so he had to keep running to the back to find someone with my answers (maybe he's new, that's fine). I wanted to know if my motherboard is compatible with an Intel I7 CPU. I'm new at these things so I cant tell. I also wanted to upgrade my graphics card. I offered to open up my desktop for them so they might be able to answer my question, but what bothered me is that the guy in the front and back didn't even want to look at the components inside. He said they don't deal with customs computers. After this, I knew these guys were useless. So I took my desktop to the back where they sell laptops. Went record hunting at this BB. I came across a copy of the Trainspotting soundtrack on vinyl however the shrink wrap was completely open across the top and one of the corners had several creases. The manager didn't give me a discount as he thought that the record is still worth the "brand new" retail price. This wasn't the only record that had the shrink wrap open. I'm thinking the record won't sell at all, labeled a loss by the manager and then ends up being taken home by one of the employees for free. read more
