To whom it may concern, I want everyone to know that I went to Best Buy to buy my first computer. I would tell you the experience was very good while trying to decide the best laptop computer for me and the things that I wanted to do. I left there feeling very happy about the whole purchase. Three months later I feel like it was the worst decision of my life. My computer has had viruses even though I bought the top of line protection, and I do not look at porn. I can not open my pictures, and have had nothing but problems with my email. I purchased a geek squad full protection, and have taken it in three times for them to fix different issues and every time they could not help me. They want to wipe my computer clean and start over that is there answer to everything. Well I do not want to do that I do not need to and if they are going to do that then I just want to change computers, but know they will not do that either. I think they make many promises that they do not deliver, and I just do not want any of my friends to get burned like I did. read more

The staff in back was not only available but very helpful and honest about the deals and the laptops they offer. The service checking out was fast. Experienced 3 cellphones that broke for various reasons and didn't what to spend anymore than needed for a replacement. Service rep at Best buy not only offered ALOT of his time but helped me select a unit that suited me PERFECTLY and it came with a softer case that could withstand more of a fall than the ones I had previously. I bought a camcorder on March 2004. I told the sales staff what I wanted and felt they really hooked me up. June 2004 the greeter at the store told me where I needed to go to get the software I needed to turn my CD pics into .jpeg. January 2007 the camera was broken. I went in to get it fixed under warrenty and they couldn't find my name or info(saved under the wrong phone number, they wouldn't change it when I went in June of 04). A YEAR later I got notice in the mail that the warrenty was going to expire and that I needed to purchase another. I took the letter and the camera in. It took twenty minutes to find the camera and the warrenty. Then the Managing Geek said that if the camera wasn't broken and I had brought it in, it was going to be $25. I just about smashed it against his head to make sure it was. Two weeks and a couple of major snow storms later, I was told to get in other wise my camera would be sold. I got in a day late, understandably and they gave me the run around about where it was. I won't even get into what I said to get my camera back. I will never shop there again. I am going on a week of trying to get service. My refrigerator is barely a year old and not working. We purchased the geek squad service plan. I cannot get anyone at the store, or the corporate office to answer the phone. I got a robot to schedule an appointment with "the geek squad". They contacted me and confirmed an appointment for Friday July 17. More than a week with a broken fridge. Then I get 2 emails and a confirmation call that they are coming Monday, July 13th. I rearrange my schedule to accommodate this change. They are not coming, not until July 21st. So unacceptable. There are 3 entities involved here. Best Buy, the middle guy who sets the appointments, and the actual repair company. NONE of these entities are on the same page. Best Buy has their money and they do not care what happens at this point. The middle guy sets the appointment with no real knowledge of the actual schedule of the repair company, and the repair company who will get here when they get here. But hey, I sat on hold with the middle guy for over an hour, and they are super sorry. Oh and a supervisor will call me back. Nobody is going to call me. Moral of the story: Don't go to Best Buy. read more

If I could give negative reviews Best Buy in Sandy, UT would get a -5 star rating. They have no concept of customer service. As soon as they have your money don't expect even common courtesy. Managers are incompetent, untrained, and they hide behind corporate policies instead of doing what is right by the customer. Sandy City would be better served without any Home Electronics stores. Simple returns or exchanges are impossible, and forget about having anything serviced under warranty. Their protection plan is only there to service the protection of their profits, not to protect your equipment. If you want to see appalling customer service, stand near the customer service counter for 5-10 minutes; then promptly walk out the door never to return again. Multiple horrifying experiences. I will never spend another penny there. read more

Great pricing, price matches everything I wanted to buy, but sales rep wasn't too friendly and was condescending

In the past 5 years I have purchased a Sony TV, Sony Blue-ray video player, Sony Sound system, Asus computer, a couple of dozen DVDs, a dozen + CDs, computer software, a mobile phone, computer gadgets and other "stuff". All totaled I've probably spent $10,000 with Best Buy in the last 5 years. (I should buy their stock . . . . . Naa!) Now I need to replace a radio in my Jeep - basic radio, nothing fancy, just a basic JVC AM/FM with CD player. 70 bucks. The Sandy, UT location is the only place within 40 miles that I can get the radio installed before Jan 15th. Since I have a 30-minute drive to get there tomorrow I thought I'd better make sure they have what I want before I go. So I call and yes they have one. ONE!! Will you hold it for me? No, we don't do that . . . the hold stuff thing. So-o-o-o, in order to insure that I don't have to deal with bait and switch, I plan on picking up the radio at another Best Buy location and taking the purchase WITH MY RECEIPT to the installation appointment. Finally, I have learned my lesson! The Best Buy attitude seems to have become, don't ask for or expect personal service just buy stuff from us then go away and don't bother us again until you're to buy something else we have or what we can shill you into buying. Since I've already found another retailer who is very happy to provide my computer/electronics needs there's no need for me to ever darken a Best Buy door again. Providence willing the JVC will never require service and I'll NEVER have to visit a Best Buy again. read more

How is this store still in business? There were empty shelves everywhere, clearly poor stocking job. Nobody asked if I needed help, I had to hunt for an associate myself. When I finally found one, he seemed slightly annoyed that he had to help me. Went to store to buy 2 GPS units.. Could not find them at first. I asked an employee who pointed and said "Over there somewhere", then walked off... I found them, and thought if might be good to talk to someone about them, Since no one came over to me after 10 min, I went to customer service and after waiting as employees talking amoung themselves, asked, they said they would send someone over... Honestly I'm surprise is that Best Buy can still be in business. They always have more employees that may have customers. I went in there two weeks ago and this was no exception 1 million employees a couple of customers. Unfortunately though even with 1 million employees the one with coming up to help us. I finally tracked down something that looked somewhat interested he had an earpiece and and was caring around a clipboard. He ask if I needed help and I thought I'd found Someone to help me. Unfortunately no such luck he just said he would get one of his guys to come over and help me so that he could continue walking around looking important with his clipboard and ear piece. You got one of the guys in the laptop area to come over and help us answer a few questions about routers. When he came over he said to us that he must've been the sacrificial lamb. Which is exactly how I like to be greeted by customer service reps who have to do their job for two minutes before going back to standing around. Luckily he was knowledgeable about their products so knowledgeable that we decided instead of Buying a router we would just continue to rent one from Comcast. Thanks Best Buy another satisfied customer too bad you'll be out of business in a few years if not sooner. But you get two stars for your knowledgeable sales employee you get -3 stars for their unwillingness to help. read more

Some of the best customer service I have had while living in Utah has been here. I purchased a product from their website and was able to pick up part of at this location and part of it was mailed to me. The mailed portion got horribly mixed up causing me all sorts of personal anguish as it was slated for a birthday present for my son. I know Best Buy is Best Buy, but I live very close and it's simply the location I need to go to. I've gone in before and got pretty decent service, nothing too spectacular but I bought an electronic there that I was really upset about. Jeff, the manager was amazing and courteous, Taylor in the Geek Squad was also quite helpful and nice and there was no need for me to be upset. I already had a ton of anxiety about the whole thing and they were a pleasure to help. They attended to me fast. Their store is also always clean and pretty funny group of guys that work there. Its Best Buy. They also match prices and all seem very helpful. I know I appreciate being guided through things and reassured. read more

On Nov. 10, 2017, I purchased two Moto G5+ mobile phones from Best Buy in Sandy, Utah and then accumulated several hundred photos. When I tried to copy these photos to my computer, I couldn't find any way to do it other than by using G-Mail, one or two at a time at lower resolution. On Feb. 9, 2018, I called "Best Buy" for help and received a suggestion that did not work. I called back and was then told that if I brought the phone in to the "mobile dept.", they would down load the photos to a thumb drive for me at no charge - so I drove to the store, only to be told at the mobile desk that I would have to take my request to the "customer service". There, I was told that I would have to pay $100 (YES, $100) for the "geek squad" to do it but that the mobile desk should be able to do it for me. I returned to the mobile desk and they then told me again that they couldn't/wouldn't help me. I bought the phones from Best Buy rather than from an online vendor (at a lower price) because I thought I could depend upon Best Buy for support. Seems I was mistaken. The customer service here is so terrible that it made me feel like the most undervalued customer. I was looking for a product that was available at this location according to Best Buy's website and the woman I spoke to on the phone (twice to make sure). When I walked into the store, the product wasn't on the shelf which brought me to asking a sales associate. I was directed to three other people until I could finally speak to someone. The worker took about a minute to look for the product before finally giving up and leaving me alone. I was told that the product is in the store twice by phone and once by the website, and I was only disappointed and angry when I left the store. Best Buy is known to have terrible customer service, and I made the mistake of trying to purchase from them again. I don't recommend Best Buy in general and especially not this store due to their lack of customer appreciation. read more
