I would most likely not call on Prime Appliance again. Their $89 diagnosis for our known problem with an old hinge on a Bosch wall oven involved no examination of the actual internal hinges or appliance. Further they were barely any help at all to try to source new parts (did most of the legwork myself). Instead they stuck a heavy wrench tool between hinge where the door meets the oven body and applied body weight pressure against the door -- which they said has worked for other customers it did absolutely nothing at all to fix our issue except to make everything worse. Then they spent the next 15 minutes telling me to consider a new $3000+ unit. read more

IF I COULD GIVE ZERO or NEGATIVE STARS I WOULD. I've used plenty of services through Yelp's recommendations for repairs around the house and this is my first time needing an appliance repair person. I usually take my time and review all the yelp reviews before reaching out to a company. Prime Appliance repair had the best reviews, but I will confidently say I'm very disappointed in their service. I requested two things to be done : - Icemaker repair. - Cleaning up my washing machine Before the service: Initially was quoted in $89 service fee, which I was perfectly fine with & am still perfectly fine with. They diagnosed the issue of the icemaker which needed a full replacement. I fully expected it to need a full replacement and acknowledge that the diagnostic service part of it ($89) needed to be paid for. Which we paid for when they did the service. Let's talk about the day of the service: Two men showed up to our house to help with the repairs. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They showed up an hour late, wore their shoes in the house, and did not communicate with us at all the whole time they were here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I think there was a definite language barrier as they could not fully tell us what was wrong with refrigerator other than that it needed a replacement.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I continue to ask questions, but they stared at me with confused and could not answer me fully. [[HIGHLIGHT]]For the fridge, they stated that they needed a quote from the management about the replacement part and stated that we would hear back from them the next day. (It's been a week and we haven't heard anything).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] For the washing machine, I asked the technicians if they could clean the front gasket. I went as far as taking up before video and showing the technician specifically what I needed to be cleaned. They said yes they can clean that part. They proceeded to do the cleaning of the washing machine as I was tending to my kids. I did not fully observe them working on the washing machine as I was downstairs and in my kids room. The technician told me they were done and pointed to the front gasket and said all clean. They stated that the washing machine did not need any further replacements and that cleaning the machine cost $120. We paid the $120 plus the $89 for the service fee of the fridge. Both technicians left and I went to go inspect the washing machine. Please see the photos to see that the front gasket was not cleaned. I used the towel to wipe down the whole washing machine, and there was dirt collected throughout the machine specifically in the front gasket. I was immediately frustrated that I specifically asked for this to be cleaned, and also the fact that the technician pointed out that he cleaned it (which he obviously didn't). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I called the company line immediately, and the customer service person stated that she would reach out to the technicians and give me a call back. The callback never happened.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Then I went to message the company on Yelp messages. Please see their responses and my response as well. I've continued to reach out to them and have not heard a response. I will be going with a different company at this time. I called Prime after a failed attempt to repair a leaky water connection in my LG ice and water dispensers in the refrigerator door. George came the next day at the scheduled time and could not finish the repair as he needed some parts. As promised, he came the next day and completed the repair! I loved working with Prime Appliance Repair! So glad I found them on Yelp!! My dryer wouldn't start on Sunday evening. Everyone else was a week out and Prime Appliance was the soonest that was able to show up on Wednesday. George and Omar came on time, courteous, wore shoe covers and they cleaned and fixed my dryer, even swept all the junk that was in the back of the dryer. They were also fast, in and out in 30 minutes. The issue they explained why the dryer wouldn't start was due to buildup of lint inside the dryer, so the safety mechanism stopped the dryer from starting. They vacuumed it all out and dryer started working again like normal. I need to confess that I never got a professional cleaning of my dryer in the 8 years I owned it but will welcome these guys again to come and clean it on the regular. Very happy! They came out to repair my older dishwasher. Afterwards my dishwasher still was not working. They suggested getting a new one from them. What I thought was a good deal turned terrible. They installed the new. After the first use water came out from underneath it flooding my kitchen floor. The water was 1 inch high. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We reported this over the phone. DO NOT USE PRIME. We had (have) a leaking dishwasher. We requested prime come and repair it. They were pretty prompt in responding and coming out to look at the dishwasher. They quoted us and scheduled a repair time 2 weeks out. A little long but ok. The came out replaced a couple parts and we though we were done. Nope dishwasher still leaks. They came out again. Tinkered with it. Nope. Still leaks. This is after 380 dollars in repairs. read more

My dishwasher isn't washing dishes these days. I did a troubleshooting thing online and discovered the heating element is broken. Internet said it's too hard to do alone so I called these guys. The repair guy said my dishwasher doesn't have a heating element. He then showed me how long it takes my water to get hot and said if I just run hot water as my dishwasher is filling, I'll be good and my dishwasher isn't broken at all. I told my partner about this and he said this model does have a heating element and a quick Google search showed this to be true. I called and told them.... They sent me an $89 invoice anyway. I called back and asked why I have to pay for incorrect advice on my dishwasher? They said good point, but you still have to pay him to drive to your house and talk to you, whether he was right or not. So... I paid this guy $45 to completely waste my time. While they were at it they also repaired the dishwasher door at no extra cost. Two technicians showed up together and knocked out the repair quickly. Ice maker on 4 year old GE fridge wasn't working so we had them come out. Initially it worked for about 4-6 weeks after repair, then started to slow down to not making any ice at all. After contacting the company they worked with us to determine the cause which was actually something other than the ice maker. It is currently working well. Arrived on schedule. Wore shoe covering. Polite. Professional. Checked dead fridge. Confirmed failure of linear compressor. Correctly pointed out that even though outer vent covering was relatively dust free, condenser coils behind vent were clogged with dust, contributing to condenser failure. BE FOREWARNED! Company does not replace compressors, but informed me that those who do charge so much for parts and labor that he recommended replacing our 6 year old fridge. We bought new fridge at scratch and dent outlet. This tech charged $89 for house call, $100 LESS than Sears tech who called up the morning of appointment, for which we'd waited nearly a week, to say because broken fridge had not been plugged in for at least 2 prior days, we needed to reschedule. Why did he not notify us of this prerequisite 2 days earlier?! Oh and BTW, Sears tech informed us he'd be charging us $189 for a house call , not the rate of $169 we agreed to when the appointment was made. We declined his services. So, bottom line- YES I would recommend Prime Appliance Repair, even though they could not repair our fridge. read more

Unfortunately for me the machine was 14 years old and just needed to be replaced, or I could pay for an expensive repair that would have cost almost as much as a new washing machine.
